[Q] start up animations /splash screen :) - Touch Viva, MDA Basic ROM Development

hi, opal cooker ...
after trying several times, I could not create a splash screen
I would ask if you could post your splash screen, perhaps in the format. cab in order to install them on my phone, because I hate the default splash screen
(the orange screen with the windows mobile white logo)
thanks in advance

oh yes, i've already seen it, and i'm currently using one of them. but it isn't what i was searching for
I'm trying to find a start up animation (like the animation of windows 7, for an example ).
I remember that in your rom ( i can't remember which) there was something like that

ohhhh...
you mean startup animated
see this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=587867

yess this.... but when I install the custum black animation nothing changes

i found a solution.....
i noticed that before installing the cab, in the registry hklm\software there isn't the folder "windows", but after the installation it appears.
also I've found the directory under hklm\software\microsoft\ the folder is called "splash screen" I tryed to overwrite the files in the "splash screen" with the files conteined in the folder "windows" and it works, now i can see the splash screen, but not the animations....
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
so i found the folder "htc animations" but before the installation this folder doesn't exists.
I've searched under the folder hklm\software\htc and I found a folder called startup animations which contains 5 files:
(defoult)
Enabled ----> it was setted on "0" and i changed it to "1"
GIFFile ----> there wasn't a locations so i setted it to \windows\animated.gif
volumn ----> i left the defoult setting
wavfile ----> i left the defoult setting
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
now it works but the animations is too fast how i can change it??
is there a way to eliminate the splash screen and keep only the animation???

Use File explorer extension, total ommander or resco explorer
1- rename the original file to BAK or whatever you remember
2-copy the new file into \windows\
There are 3 bootsreens
SEMC***.GIF isthe startup animation
welcomehead.192.png is the green Windows screen
As an explmple, I copied I my own welcomehead.192.NEW.png to \windows\ renamed the original file to welcomehead.192.BAK.png and then renamed welcomehead.192.NEW.png to welcomehead.192.png
Reset and changes wll apply
Thanx for your answer. i got the SEMC2904.bmp changed with the one i drawed. i hang it on my post if somebody wants it too.
*EDIT* okay i overwrote the old image but my new one does not appear ?!

A thumbnail would be fine
You can upload a thumb to tinypic.com or else
Thanks for sharing
Here's the Thumbnail.
But do you have a tip for me? i copied the screen to my windows folder. i'm getting asked if i want to overwrite it. i agree, but if i reboot my x1 i don't see my new screen
Check
It appears that (like desktop Windows) the Xperia performs a check on boot of the file details. If the file is deemed "corrupted" it is replaced by the original from an unknown location.
Since you file quite likely does not match a hash check, or possibly is saved in the wrong format, it gets replaced.
I had this problem and as of yet have been unable to make an image that the device will accept.
yeah must be some kind like this but i want to have my own startupscreen!!

Anyone help with changing the splash screen

I've been trying to change the splash screen on my jade and have managed to make an nbh file and flash it with the customRUU.
the splash screen has changed but seems to 'cut off' near the bottom where the boot info comes up and shows some of the old splash screen under the info.
Its really wierd I'm sure my image is the right size (I've used several stock ones from this forum)
I'd really like to know where I'm going wrong.
Cheers
Anyone?
the annoying orange
Hi Welshbloke70
I too would like to change (the annoying orange) splash screen on my Jade.
I presume you are talking about the very first splash that appears on start-up?
I’ve successfully done this on a herm200 but you know how things can be different!
Can you explain what steps you took and I’ll try the same on mine to see if we get the same result?
Cheers

Well I flashed the HTC stock ROM and thats changed it.
The stock ROM works well for me so I'm pretty happy, and I guess that the splash screen is changed for good.
Orange splash
Hi Welshbloke
Can you tell me if the stock ROM is available here? If so can you provide the link or version?
Cheers
Hello,
all you need is a GIF file 240 x 320 Pixels in size.
Place the file in \windows folder.
You might need to use the Total commander to place this file as otherwise you'll get write protection error.
Soft reset after replacing the file.
If you're talking about the HTC screen splash ...
on my set it's this file - animated.gif (240 x 320 pix, 46.1 kb) in \windows.
how do i enable and chamge the animated.gif? and disable the splashscreen?

AFAIK... Get any gif file (animated or not) of your choice, edit/resize it to be of the same pix size with animated.gif (240 x 320), save it as "animated.gif", dump it into \windows. Softreset. Rem to keep the default file, just in case.

Only to tell: I do not have the file "animated.gif" on my phone.
But I do not want to change my splash-screen, so it does not matter for me.

Trying to understand better ..
After you dump the new file and softreset, when you boot up, what happened ?
Does the splash screen still show the default animated gif ? or No animation at all ?

windows se7en splash screen

Hi guys.i have made 2 splash screens which are ported from windows 7.but i added some notes with photoshop.2 sound files (xp startup and shutting down) are available in a zip file.hope to enjoy it
you can rename the picture name to welcomehead.png and put it in windows folder or you can install advanced configuration tool v3.3.use this app to change the the startup splashscreen, startup .WAV file and shutdown .WAV file (recommended)...
NOTE: Download "480.800 pictures.zip" if u wanna have the real 480.800 resolution...

And these are 2 wallpapers u can use as your wallpaper (included in the attachment of post1)
Where do you put the splash screens at....I am not sure where I would save them so that they show up when I launch
Actually these are pretty cool, thanks!
Think you could also work on black-themed Windows 7 splashes and wallpaper?
Much appreciated.
can someone make this into a cab please.
thanks
where r the files?
Nice work there, inspired me to change my wallpaper, so I came up with this:
drhadr.qsb.cz/stuff/black_win.jpg
drhadr.qsb.cz/stuff/black_win.png
drhadr.qsb.cz/stuff/black_win2.png
Turned out to be slim and elegant as a bg too
If anyone wants to add there any text/label, do it or tell me and I'll put it in there
All credits go to salmanarif, whose img I edited: salmanarif.deviantart.com/art/Weathered-Windows-Wallpaper-119347633
Sorry for the post, but I'm not allowed to make foreign server urls
Very cool!
I wasn't able to get the splashes working. Any advice?

after a while i found out how to replace it, let me know if u tried the same steps.
renamed the png file to welcomehead.192.png and made another copy of it and named it welcomehead.png
in resco i set some options to show hidden files, then i just moved both of them inside.
i think one of them was unnecessary but... it worked so.. lol
so i did a bit more research, u just need the welcomehead.png
the one with 192 is for a carrier splash.
if u want to use the jpg (i'm guessing it's faster?? i don't really notice much difference), u can put it in there aswell and go into registry.. i think HKLM/software/microsoft/splash and just change the value of the name
@rouzbehali
can plz upload the zip file again, its corrupted
and i noticed that the wallpapers are not 800*480
could u plz make a version with this size
thanx alot man
its very nice
zip files are fixed
sound files are uploaded again, thanks for your comments
ok.I will make more splash screens
OK windows mobile noob here with stock HD2...
How do I get rid of the stupid Tmobile "stick together" screen at startup and "Goodbye" at shut down? No one has explained that yet. I downloaded and installed the advanced configuration tool and every time I point it to the pics in the zip file on my sdcard and reboot...nothing changes...
I need step by step instructions here...

easier way:
Just use advanced config to locate your files .
it is provided in the 1st post.

Is there any way to also get a shutdown screen? There is only a starting up file in the zip. Also, what's the best way to try to install the welcome/shutdown splash? Through the advanced config app or otherwise? And lastly, which splash screen does this replace, the orange windows mobile one, the T-Mobile one, or both? Any responses would be helpful.
the skin/theme you have is fantastic, with the clock and slide bar on the bottom. Could you please tell me where you got it or did you make it yourself?

[Q] Return default Locksreen

After uninstalling s2u2, native HD Mini locksreen does not appears after pressing the top button. It appears only when i press WM menu and than press lock.
Please help me to solve this problem (to return it as it was by default), without Hard reset.
Will be glad for any answer
Check if the value of:
HKCU\\ControlPanel\Keybd\DefaultKeyLock
is 1.
I have just checked it, but there is no such key after "Keybd".
Should i create it?
Check better. It must be there.
But i have found this key near
HKCU\\ControlPanel\Keybd\DevicelockWhenSuspend
And changing it from 0 to 1 solves the problem.
Thank you very much, fighter7139!
And how can i change the startup image? Or back to the original?
The start up picture is file "welcomehead.192.png" in the Windows folder.
How can i enable it again? Because my bootscreen its all white....
The old one is lost. Take a picture, convert it to .png, rename it to welcomehead.192 and copy-paste it in Windows folder.
There is any Htc bootscreens? I`m new with Wm phones.
Use a picture of your own.
where is that windows paste to change the .png file?
Use File Explorer to rename the .png file to "welcomehead.192" and then use copy-paste in the "Windows" folder.
Don`t work...
You have made something wrong.
Problem solved! Now i have a problem with the Htc splash image... The first Htc white image is missing "Quietly brilliant", then i have another Htc "customized" gif that its ok, and next my screen its all white... What is wrong?
