[Q] Tmous radio - HD2 General

I've searched the forum but I haven't found a reliable thread about the Tmous radio which activates the ram (tmous based rom plus 2.08.50 radio or higher).
so can someone send a link, plz
thnx

There are definitely some discussions in various threads where your question is discussed - quite some time ago, short time after the 576MB "hack" was discovered.
In most ROM threads, the chefs note that you must use specific Radio ROM versions to activate the higher amount of RAM.
As of today, people usually go for version 2.12.50.02_2 or 2.15.50.04, but basically, you can take almost all versions higher than 2.06, and usually coded 2.xx.50.xx. The only complete list I know is in a German language forum, but you can find a Radio ROM thread in the stickies.

I can read German and write it

Well, then here you go: Click!
Under the Radio ROM section, you will immediately see which ones are good for the 576MB "hack".

How do I enable 576mb ram ?

someone convinced me
i flashed tons of roms and radios but none seem to "activate" this hidden ram.
right now im on duttys HG ultimate with its preinstalled 2.08 radio (it said it would activate ram)
before i was running miri build 23549 with 2.06 radio and still nothing.
but than again, is it possible for a tmous leo to get this activated?

It's not "fake" as it is actually hardware, and physically present in the hardware of the phone.
The 2.06 Radio itself doesn't enable it, nor does any other radio for that matter. It is a combination of the ROM with the settings modified and the Radio which allows the phone to access the memory that is physically installed in the European HD2, but blocked in these ROMs "officially."
To my knowledge, only a two Radios (from the TMOUS ROM) actually allow the access of the blocked memory by the ROM. 2.07 and 2.08 versions with 50 and not 51 in their string codes.
IF you were running Miri's with a 2.06 radio, you did not see it activated.
It is also important to remember that the 576MB of memory is not going to be free or available in its entirety, because the system takes a part for itself to run the graphics system, etc.
This has been discussed in much greater detail here in the forum. Search for the threads and see for yourself.
so which combination would activate it with a tmous rom?

that T-Mob 576mb is crap and chefs should stop cooking them couse if you like T-Mob rom's go and buy that idiotic phone,i would never put that crap on mine at all,i just love the originals rom's cooked before T-Mob come out,all i can see is 576mb rom
The 576 mb ram is for real. Believe or not it's your choice, but it has been proven several times over. However we have enough ram already and some cooks may choose not to use it. If you are going to cook ROM's for a TMOUS device then it is good to use the 576 RAM.

It's mainly for Russian users but could be used by everyone with minor changes.
Can anyone recommend a rom that only enables the RAM and nothing else? is it hard to cook one myself?

Can you use T8585 HD2's custom ROM with TMobile HD2?

Provided that the rom you want to use is the 576MB RAM one? I realize that the amount of ROM is different between the two models, but will that alone cause incompatibility between the ROM for the two models?
Thanks for any reply!
The biggest thing you have to watch for is the base and radio...if you're using a US T-Mobile HD2 you must use a ROM with a base of 2.XX (as opposed to 1.XX)...and you also don't want to use a ROM with a radio built in other than 2.08...
the answer is, , not sure. Certainly if it is to work it must be a 576 enabled rom, and the radio must be right, , , , if you're brave enough, do post back and let us know. (I wouldn't till i knew for sure)
Dont forget that when you say t8585 roms, many of the cooked roms are actually based on the tmo 2.1 rom.
Its mainly the radio that you have to take care about, which may brick your device.
Its better not to flash a ROM with radio included in it.
Don't flash any Radio especially those available in T8585 forum.
In other cases, it may be showing less RAM or less ROM only with some ROMs if they are not compatible.

Help with a 576mb Rom and Radio 2.12.50.02_2

Hello all.
first things first I'm sorry if there's already a thread about this but I have searched high & low and couldn't find it.
But could someone please point me in the direction where I can find
A compatible 576mb enabled rom for radio 2.12.50.02_2
and if possible some install instructions.
Thanks in advance.
its the other way around, you find compatible radios for therom you want.
all roms work with that radio, just find yourself one that says "576 enabled" or "tmous compatible" means the same thing.
to install, apply hspl if you haven't already, flash radio over usb, flash rom over usb, done.
I'm using the current Energy ROM with the same radio as you mention.
Works fine and has 576 Mb.
some say 576 enabled rom's are slower
this is the best radio that i have ever seen !!
batrylife is too long and gps was wonderfull ,even in building was connect !!
Thanks everyone.
Relay have helped me with this one.

[Q]Radio Rom 2.07.51.22_2 usage

I have looked quite a while for NAND android flashing my HD2. About a week full of reading and watching youtube. Now the only thing I am still uncertain about is the radio. People say the rom just needs to support that 576 RAM, so it has to be "higher than"
(2.08.50 or later should be fine but the Radio NEEDS to be 2.**.50.**).

From http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948
Now my phone has, as the title says, Radio Rom 2.07.51.22_2. Is this one also usable for the flashing? Since it is nót a 2.**.50.**. If I look in my phone at hardware information it says: RAM size: 448MB.
Please help me with this.

Hi,
You have all the information you need.
2.07.51.22_2. is NOT suitable for NAND.
In the thread you quoted look at the requirements before you begin. There is the:
2.15.50.14 Radio *HERE*
Click on the link, download the radio and then continue with the information in MSKIP's thread.
Read everything carefully and you should be ok.
Click on the link on the word HERE in bold like below in the link you gave above. I have problem getting into that radio thread. When you're in that radio thread you just have to download and flash it with any radio 2.08.50 or later, but radio NEEDS to be 2.**.50.** basically must match number 2 and 50 because you have 576 RAM. There are only 2 type of RAM; 1024 RAM or 576 RAM. You provided 448MB that's label as 576 RAM.
1. YOU NEED A RADIO WHICH SUPPORTS 576 RAM (2.08.50 or later should be fine but the Radio NEEDS to be 2.**.50.**). I recommed the 2.15.50.14 Radio *HERE*

*cough* really? 576 and 448, methinks.
@OP the point no one has made is that all 51 radios are earlier (or 'lower') than 50 radios.
51 came from early regular hd2 roms and ONLY from regular hd2 roms, tmous roms all have 50 radios, and all android magldr stuff requires tmous radios, hence 50 radios. 51 radios are useless for anything interesting.

Ah, that was indeed the word I fell over, that 51's are considered as "lower." Thanks guys, now let's go update that radio.

[Q] Radio which supports 576 MB Ram on SPL 3.03.0000

Hello!
I have looked my way through every forum I could on the subject but cannot find my answer. I'm not sure If this is posted in the right section either. Anyways here's my problem.
I am trying to install WP7(mango) on my HTC HD2. Its SPL version is 3.03.0000. SO I know I need to use HSPL4.
The problem is that I need to flash a new radio which supports 576 MB. Right????
Also, Is there a certain MAGLDR I need to use for SPL 3.03?
Thanks for your help!

The radio version matters on the regional specs (U.S., Europe, Asia, SA, etc) of your phone not how much memory although only the U.S. version has 1gb others have 576. Regardless, WP7 only recognizes 576mb no matter which version.
There is radio thread in the rom development forum, I think, and also one here in general q&a, too.
As for HSPL, only v2.08 works for installing WP7 on the HD2. You will see what you need in any of the WP7 rom threads. v3.03 will not work.
See tutorial links in my signature.
So radio doesnt matter, but I need HSPL v2.08. I'm just going to assume I dont need a certain version of MAGLDR?

The radio does matter. Like I said, the hardware radio driver depends on your phone's region specs. If you have a European HD2, more than likely you'll have the correct driver but may need
to be updated to the latest European/carrier version. Look in the radio threads for any current version for your phone version and carrier.
There is only one version of Magdlr...2.something, I think.
Well I got everything I need now. Except the ROM because the link is broke. oh well.

wrong...
US HD2 has 1GB NAND Flash memory vs EU HD2's 512 MB NAND Flash memory...both model has physically 576 MB RAM, but the EU model limited to 448 MB RAM by HTC for certain purposes. With the correct radio roms (with .50. in the version number) and HSPL, it can be allowed to 576 MB...

Well, only HSPL 2.08 is usable to flash WP7 as well as Android. Besides, 576 is moot since WP7 consolidates RAM and SD for total system memory. WP7 is unusable without an SD card.
Use HSPL4 to install HSPL 3.03 then go on use it install HSPL 2.08, MAGLDR could only on HSPL 2.08
