its just like the closed beta version ! very smooth
I like it, thanks for sharing!

I tried it...I'm not impressed. Not at all. Smart Keyboard Pro is still my favorite.
been using the beta for a few days, pretty sweet!
I've been a beta user from day one (so this is my first usage of a swiftkey beta) and this one is either getting hammered by server side load or my predictions are just messed up. They straight up don't work.
But once that gets hammered out I will go back to loving Swiftkey

That is what I figured.
I <3 SwiftKey, and this new one is real nice. Had to switch back to the light theme though; never been a fan of the dark themed keyboards.
Just DLed it and I like it .

Predictions are from your SD card I believe.
Gonna try it out.
I'm a little confused tho. Is this different from the current market version that you have to pay for? Or is this a "free" beta with an expiration date attached?
Loving the beta too! Just gets better and better. Already saving keystrokes by 30%

Got the official email today, but I logged in yesterday and it let me it, so I selected "resend invitation email" and got it "early" I guess. I see why people love it so...
I love swype
Sent from my HTC Incredible
I've had it for a while and I keep it available because I got the invite. But, I find that I type just as fast and more accurate on the Droid X keyboard. That's my fav.
Wishing I could utilize Swype more because the reviews have been great.
I've had the official 2.15 Swype for two days. Gotta say, I love it even more. But, nit picking time lol. When I go into a text field, the keyboard is capitalized, then a second later goes to lower case. But when you type, the first letter is capitalized. Just some odd behavior. Overall, the updates an improvement.

That's what it's supposed to do, if you don't like the feature, then disable auto-capitalization.

No, its the fact that it goes to lowercase when I haven't even touched it. Its still capitalizing, which is good, but its just weird that it drops to lower case. No other version that I've used did that.

Yeah! Got my Swype Beta invite a couple days ago and I'm stoked! I signed up a few months ago so my patience paid off.

This is the first thing I'm typing with swype and I prefer the gingerbread keyboard lol this isn't very easy at all. It's kinda awkward. Ok I'm done trying to get the feel of this.
Edit I can see how its useful but I'm so used to typing normally and I type very fast so its easier for me to use a keyboard.

Not much for updates from 2.10 from what I can tell....only noticeable difference is that names from your contact list don't trump any other words you want to spell. Kinda nice, since I was getting a little annoyed of that. Does this beta test eventually end and the beta keyboard expires and no longer works, or will beta users be able to use this keyboard for good?
I was in the beta way back when the DInc came out, but since then I have changed email addresses and can no longer get back in. I put in for the next round of invites.
Is there a specific build for the DInc (returning my Droid X on Monday and getting the DInc again) and I have the .apk from the DX but didn't want to install if it wasn't any good.
My swype just quits working?!?! After a while anyway.

Didn't see any posts about this, but it came across today at work. it said release date was 12-13, but that was yesterday, so....
Unfortunately, i don't have the exact changelog in front of me, but it included some pretty cool stuff, like Swype keyboard, a try it/buy it game from gamesoft, and others.
anyone else hear about this update?

This + This + This = Hard to get excited about a stock ROM that packs in more bloat.
As a side personal note, I've been furiously working on a revamped Gingerbread theme so I'm ready and anxiously waiting.
PS: I know added absolutely nothing to this thread.
Hard to get excited about ugly aosp. And yes your post had no value added to the thread. Based off their release numbers this would be a significant jump, could be something could be nothing. It's getting bot like to hear the tired old line of bloatware.......

and what exactly do you expect people to be talking about?
The only information anyone has seen is:
HTC - EVO 4G (A9292)
Software Version: 3.70.651.1
Release Date: 12/13/2010
Method: Available OTA + Retail
PRL Version: 60671
Version: 1.90_003
Hardware Version: 0002 / 0003
Fixes:
NEW FEATURES / SERVICES IN MR3
- Blockbuster (including WM DRM 10)
- Kindle eReader
- Preloaded try/buy video game: NOVA from Gameloft
- Sprint Zone update
- Latest Telenav
- Latest VVM App
- Latest Sprint TV app
- SWYPE Keyboard
- Scan Now Widget for 4G (does not need to be available on any panel, just a widget option users could find and use).
and noone even knows where that came from for sure.
What do *I* see in there? I see a bunch of new crap features and absolutely nothing under the "Fixes" section....
So you say bloatware but my phone feels fine, have fun repeating all the other crap other folks say. makes sense, you both were iphone owners, i wouldn't expect anything less

That's what some people like to call consensus.
..and slurping CM? I slurp no man. If I wanted to I'd just buy a Nexus S or just get some of my developers to port it for me - but having someone like CM (and the other developers) is just a bit more convenient and non-stupid.
...and with that I exit this thread.

oh no I owned an iphone for 2 years! Say you what you will but there's something to be said about a phone that doesn't need a firmware update every month or to be plugged in every 12 hours......
Don't get me wrong I love my Evo, I just wish it was as trusty as every other phone I've ever owned. In fact, I would go as far to say that technically the Evo is the most unreliable phone I've ever had. There's no way I'd turn my parents loose with one. It's the price you pay for technology though. It's strange to realize that the Evo is more powerful than my eeePC, runs longer on battery, and fits in my pocket. What an age we live in.
However, I had to cook my own rom just to get this thing "usable" in my book. With the iPhone it was just jailbreak and go....

The G1 still has its own form! I think as long as cm supports the hero then there will be a decent community. Might not be as active, but people are here. If we can get that new .35 kernel working 100% (I'd say its about 90-95% there) then the hero will last quite a while. There is nothing magical about the .35 kernel except that is brings up closer to what all the "cool" devices are running.
Personally I don't see myself upgrading. I don't want to pay the $10 extra sprint charges now (yes $10 is much better than AT&T/Verizon's tiered plans!!) However although a 3VO is cool, thats all it is. My hero running nightlys and overclocked does everything I could want (except smooth angry birds ).

I swapped out the icons on my weather lockscreen no problem.
***Edit***What I can't do, is get my red XDA icon to show up I'll have to reopen the .apk tomorrow and see where the icon is hiding for this phone, but it's clearly not where I'm used to finding it. I changed it fine, resigned the .apk no problem and got it to install......but with the same ugly brown icon.
You're right Shel. Last time I check, there was over 7000 registered nightly hero's. So it'll be here for a while.

A lot of ol' Hero users have been going over to the 3VO. I, on the other hand, have been debating whether or not to go the 'Sensation 4G' route.
Ever since putting the new update it had the gingerbread keyboard but no swype. I managed to put swype back on mine.. but just wondering if any of you actually liked the swype on the phone itself or not.
I personally I don't really like swype.
I use it/prefer it. I often type with only one hand free and it's easier than pecking for me.
I love swype, haha... I don't like the stock version though, I like the beta that you download... haha...

I have been using it for a few days. Apart from being a novelty, and very kool. It actually does work quite well. Don't get me wrong, it still needs a bit of work. But IMO it's working at least as good as Crapples version.
