No Service after flashing ROM done Nandroid b/u still No Service - Nexus S General

Well I flashed NexusSence 0.3 earlier today and love it,
The only thing is I get no service and obviously cant use the phone or data, I thought this was a problem with the ROM but after restoring to a Nandroid back up I still get no service. I have several back ups and none of them resolve the issue.
Can someone please advise as what I do next.If anything. I have searched but not found anything that makes feel confident in doing anything else without first asking.
I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure I need to flash the radio .img but the question is which one??
Thanks
***********************************************************
I'm in no way blaming NexusSence for this, it could and probably was something I did or didnt do.

the funny thing is I still have signel bars that apear to work and when i go to
>setings>wireless & networks>mobile networks>network operators.
I can scan and picks up my local mobile network carriers,
When I choose O2 who ive got my contract with it says:
Registering on O2 Network
then:
Unable to connect to this network at this time. Please try later
HELP

Have you tried...
Have you tried going back completely stock and unrooting. Try using one of the official rom images in the dev section

Exactly the same issues.
I was on NSCollab before this, restored and facing the exact same issue as the OP.
Right now im flashing NSCollab again, will restore again if the fresh installation fixes the issue.
btw. which version of CWM are you using?

Something similar happened to me with an i9000. I solved it by flashing back to stock AND doing a factory reset on the stock ROM.
Also verify that your IMEI hasn't been erased.

I have no idea but did a quick search and found this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=881162

^ Nope the addresses are completely different.

iv'e had this happen on 2 occasions, first was on CM7 nightly 85, other was on Zuluzulu rom, i thought it had something to do with CM7, reverted to a former back up i made, wich was fine, and now on and AOSP rom, also without a problem!
really like to know what causes this problem, as i like CM7 roms the most!

lost my weather

i just got another hd2 which worked fine but after i hspl'd it n flashed a rom i lost my weather and gps location. ive changed settings w no luck. so i went back to a stock 2.10 rom and still have no weather and i still cant get my gps location.
if anyone has any ideas im lost at this point.
worst case i have insurance so ill get another new phone but id like to try fixing it.
thanks for the look and ideas..
Did you try a hard reset? That should bring it back for sure.
tried hard reset, wipe device, format sd card, no sd card, even a different sim card and still nothing. i flashed an energy rom which i like n i have flashed to many other hd2's without any issues at all but for whatever reason this one is giving me a hard way to go.
You did update your QuickGPS info after flashing to the different ROM(s), correct? Other than that, are you still using the same radio as you originially were or did you change that when you changed ROM's?
it's a known sense issue, moves from state to state....usually happens when tmobile is updating to hspa+..it'll come back, just give it time .

Problems with 3g and ROMs

So when I first rooted my phone I put Fresh on there. I installed the ROM and the 2 radio files. I then got the 3d and gave the evo to my gf, but fresh was very slow for me so I installed the CM7 ROM.
CM7 was very buggy for her, especially since she was new to Android I decided Sprint Lover's ROM on there and flashed a newer update on it since.
The problem is that she has been having problems with 3g. She has so many problems and errors with 3g data. It shows that she has 3g, but she gets errors when she tries to access the internet.
My question is, how can I get it back to stock or a nice rooted stock rom to try and fix this problem? Do I just flash a stock rom? I'm guessing the fresh radio's might be messing something up. If there is a simple solution to this without having to do a full erase I'm sure she prefers that, being that we've fully erased her phone like 4 times already, lol.
Thanks guys.
Get the Sprint Lovers all-in-one package from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=830153
It's flashed through hboot (it's a PC36IMG.zip) and will flash not just the rom but also the radios. This will wipe everything.
Alternately you can go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715485 and get just the latest radios and flash those. Flashing this will not wipe everything.
If the problem is with the radios then that should fix it. If it doesn't, then it's likely that the issue lies somewhere else.
thanks, just installed the new radio's. Will see how it works.
I would definitely just get the app mybackup root and back everything up apps/data , sms etc.. Then just restore everything after you flash a new ROM.
Then just do a fresh install of what ever ROM you want then test out different radios till you find the best ones that work for you I'm on old radios because the newer ones didn't work great for me not all evos work the same .
I hope that helps you out some.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I got simalar problem like u.
I installed new radios, try different roms like MIUI, CM6, CM7, Miks, Minn, OMJ's, etc...... finally I go back to stock rom but still got the same problem.
I almost crazyy
the phone never got 3G signal, it only works 1G no matter what I did.
I've reserched couple days but looks like nobody got my problem.
now I fixed my problem btw... well I'm not sure this thing works to u or not
anyway try it if u still got 3G problem.
*I don't even remember where this posted originally,,, somewhere this forum or not,,
huge thanks to original author btw
download 'MSL reader' at market n get the numbers. it's 6 digits.
go to your phone and type ##3282#
tap 'edit mode'
type that 6 digits from MSL reader
tap 'data profile'
open menu n tap 'restore'
then the phone will be reboot.
when booting is done, your phone will start resistering to network.
after that, if something popup n ask update (mayb PRL update), 'cancel' it.
mine works perfectly now.
hope this work to u.
ok thanks, i'll try it out. I do get "3g" at the top though, but always get an error while trying to retrieve data.
Also, what files in the SD card are necessary? Is there a list? I think there are so many junk files in there taking up space, I don't know whats necessary and whats not.
Please help slow EVO 4G after flashing Sprint Lovers All In One
Obvious Noob here.
having issues with my Evo 4G after flashing Sprint Lovers All in one
phone seemed very fast immediatly after flashing SL but since then has become just overall slow.
in fact, i'm downloading an update to ROM Manager right now (a 2.27MB file) and it's taken literally 20 minutes to get to 75%. it's painful!
when i go in to manage applications...says "computing" on space, data and cache etc.
before i flashed SL all in one i ran factory reset 3x in a row prior to flashing - i did NOT re-format my SD card but had it removed (after unmounting).
Should i try to wipe and re-flash or just go to CM7? Are there any things i can try before re-flashing or moving to another rom? Please help..
thank you OB1B

[Q] Wifi broken, can't seem to fix it

Hiya,
Using the international i9505 LTE, I tried flashing faux's kernel today, and everything appeared to be working. I also then flashed the xposed framework/some modules. Afterwards, I realised my wifi wasn't working anymore, and disabling the xposed framework didn't help. I also tried flashing the ausdim kernel which didn't work, as well as flashing my modem file, and the apparent wifi fix files multiple times, none of which solved the problem.
I have a nandroid backup, but would rather not restore it atm as it was made a while ago and I don't want to restore all the apps and stuff, so does anyone have any idea how to go about solving this problem?

Basically yesterday I had the same problem, flash after flash didn't help. Can tell you exactly, what I did:
Found factory version of my firmware in my region (SEB Baltics for me, MGA). Then I reinstalled TWRP recovery through ODIN, wiped everything I could, after that flashed stock firmware 2 times consecutively (no reboot in odin, reboot manually after first flash and flash again).
After that everything went fine, and Wi-Fi started working again. MH1 custom ROM right now, going ok.
Googling seems to suggest having to reflash stuff multiple times (I've seen someone say they flashed their stock rom 11 times wtf), and there doesn't seem to be any set procedure that gets the flash to work... Did you also flash multiple times before this last run worked? Perhaps you just got lucky and it worked the last time? (I assume no one tries to bork their wifi and test if their last routine works again for them).
I'm asking mainly because I don't want to go through the hassle of reflashing the entire rom again; would it be correct to say that wifi is just contained in the modem/radio file, and I should try spam flashing that?
No. WiFi drivers are in the kernel, not the modem. If you were going to flash anything, you'd flash a kernel/rom.

I suggest you use titanium backup to bakup your apps, it's not a tough job as you thought. that might be the easiest way, although some data can't be backup.

Welp, bluetooth had no problems whatsoever. It was only the wifi, which didn't want to turn on. Now everything is ok.
Well, finally got around to reflashing stock as Gh0stR1pp3r suggested, which worked. Thanks
Nandroid, kernel flashing, and modem flashing all didn't work. No clue why. I flashed the ausdim kernel again and it worked this time around, so it's just weird I guess? :S
And unfortunately I seem to have messed up the titanium backup somehow, I can't seem to find any of the stuff I thought I backed up Oh well

Phone says dialing but never connects. Incoming calls don't ring either

Phone seemed to stop working yesterday. Last time I used it was via Bluetooth paired with my wife's car.
I get signal and can text, just not send/receive calls.
I was on dirty unicorns official and had not messed with anything in several weeks.
I just updated radio and vendor and installed latest weekly of dirty unicorns.
Anybody go through this before? Any advice?
Thanks.

What does your prl version say under your IMEI settings? I had this exact problem when I flashed the latest PN build. I tried everything to fix it. Flashing my EFS backup worked for a while but sometimes on a reboot I had the same issue again. Flashing EFS would fix it again but it was temporary. The permanent fix for me was a clean flash of Chroma ROM. Just curious but what carrier are you on? It seems like this issue has been affecting CDMA carriers like Verizon more than others.

When I had this problem the prl version in my screenshot said unknown as well as the MIN number. If you problem started after flashing an update I'll guarantee its software and not hardware. If you have an EFS backup I would try and flash that first if not I would do a backup in TWRP and then clean flash Chroma. If it doesn't work you can always just flash your backup and be back to where you are now.

I'm sure you have already checked the APN settings but it would be a good idea to make sure they were not changed when you updated. Are you in a good LTE area? A lot of people with this issue could make and receive calls over LTE but when they didn't have it they couldn't even though they had service. That's why I think it affected CDMA carriers more. LTE goes over GSM and 3g goes over CDMA. Does your phone number show up under SIm info?

The EFS doesn't change. The original backup you have is all you need as long as you have a backup of just the EFS partition and nothing else with it. It might not fix your issue but it won't hurt anything. I tried Chroma after reading it fixed a lot of others problems with the same issue and that worked for me also. I'm still running it but others have said they were able to go back to their preferred ROM after flashing it and all was good.

As long as you clean flash their shouldn't be any issues. Just go to advance wipe and select system, data, cache and dalvic. Just make sure you don't check internal storage. Then flash chroma and the recommended gapps and you should be good to go. Make a backup first and you can always just flash back to the point where you are now if it doesn't work.

Have you changed any settings in the test menu? Another option would be to swap sim cards out with another phone to see if yours works in theirs and vice versa. As a last resort before you RMA you should wipe everything and flash the stock images and start fresh. Even if that doesn't fix it I think you would have an easier time with the RMA process being completely stock and relocking your bootloader.

So, uh, I forgot to mention a critical piece of data: I live in Georgia, but this occurred at one of the South Carolina beaches, over 300 miles away.
I had full LTE, but noticed the phone said Not Roaming (or roaming: false).
As soon as we got home today, boom -- could make and receive calls again.
So, I think I can close this thread and open a new thread on how to get roaming to stick.

[SOLVED] WiFi Completely Broken …

Below is my original post; however, I've since solved the problem. In an effort to help others with the same problem, I've written a Guide, which should explain exactly what to do if your WiFi is suddenly "broken" due to flashing issues.
Here's the link: OnePlus 5 WiFi Fix
Many thanks to everyone who offered help, especially subaash and hallo dare, who put me in the right direction.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Greetings, everyone.
Sadly, for specific reasons unknown, my WiFi appears to be completely broken.
Over the last few days I've gone "flash happy" by trying several Oreo ROMs for my OP5. Some worked while others just froze at the boot animation.
Unfortunately, shortly after flashing the xXx-NoLimits Oreo ROM, which got me to the initial set-up screen, my WiFi would not connect. So, I then bypassed the WiFi part and finished the set-up. Everything seemed to be working very well, but I could not get WiFi to work.
Yes, I could engage the Wifi slider to the ON position, and there would be a list of SSIDs; however, oftentimes even my 2 SSIDs would not display. When they did, and I tried to connect, I would see the connection attempt, but it would not complete the connection. Only the word "saved" would be shown under the SSID name. Then it would automatically try to reconnect, but without success.
I've tried virtually everything I can think of to solve the problem, but I can't connect to WiFi.
All other communications work, i.e., Bluetooth, Data, making and receiving calls. It's ONLY the Wifi that's not working.
Yes, I completely wiped my device and re-installed the original OxygenOS (4.5.14), but that didn't work. I also tried completely wiping the device and then installing that latest OxygenOS v4.5.15, but that didn't solve the problem, either.
I went back and flashed all the previous custom ROMs in an attempt to see if any of them would work, but nothing. I tried NitrogenOS, HalogenOS, Liquid Remix, xXx NoLimits, and they all could not connect to WiFi.
I even tried a few WiFi Fix apps on Google Play, but they didn't work, either.
Oh, yes … I even checked my router. It's perfectly fine. I can get WiFi on my laptop without a problem. Furthermore, when I went to a local coffee shop this morning that provides free WiFi, my phone could not connect, just like at home.
Does anyone have ANY suggestions?
Thank you,
Peter
I would say this is to do with your firmware/modem.
I did have this issue on a non Oreo ROM and in the end I just did a dirty flash and it worked.

I've tried flashing both the 4.5.14 and 4.5.15 firmware, with no luck; however, I accidentally deleted my modem nandroid about a week ago.
Do you know where I might find a flashable modem file?
Thanks,
Peter
Addendum: I found the following site for Firmware & Modems:
https://www.jamal2367.com/?dir=OnePlus 5/Firmware + Modems/Android 7.1.1/OxygenOS
I'll try flashing them and report back.
Addendum 2: NOPE! Didn't work. I flashed a few different firmware & modems, 4.5.13, 4.5.14 and 4.5.15, but WiFi is still broken. Yes, I first flashed the appropriate OS version before flashing the firmware and modem. In other words, I always matched the OS version with the firmware & modem version, but no success. Everything works except WiFi. Hmm, still stumped.

Sadly, no. I've tried absolutely everything I can think of, all without success. It's very frustrating because absolutely everything else works, except WiFi.
All I can do now is wait for suggestions from others, or take the phone to a repair shop (which I'm hesitant to do).

Do you have a full rom backup? I mean of the last working rom you had before all the flashing? If so, from a full stock rom (1.53gb or close) of the same build as the backup (ie... 4.5.14) wipe and flash that rom, then wipe and restore the backup you have if the last working rom. If they doesn't work I think you're likely looking at a hardware issue.

Same problem but only on my 5GHz network and dont know how to fix

Thank you,
Peter

So first of all the reason why it is broken is because of the oreo firmware that you flashed earlier. Now what you should do is flash stock recovery and flash the oreo build and boot it up and running. Once you've done that flash the rollback rom (which suppose to downgrade your oreo firmware to nougat firmware). Once you've done it basically it fixes you're wifi issue.

Thanks! I'm quite aware of the need for caution with modems. Sadly, though, it didn't solve the problem.

There's a button for that son..
Also the firmware / modem will be the problem, either upgrading or rolling back..either way it'll be the cause.

Try reflashing the rom. Not sure why, but that happened to me and reflashing the rom fixed it.

Okay, let me first answer a couple of questions. Like I said in my first post, I DID flash the original ROM, as well as other OEM OxygenOS ROMs, all without success. Yes, I used the exact same ROM that was working perfectly before the problem. Yes, I also had a FULL Nandroid of the working system, but restoring that also did nothing to solve the problem.
Okay, with that out of the way, I went to a repair shop this morning to try and solve the problem. It was unsuccessful. The technician said it's unlikely to be hardware related because I can still get the phone to recognize all local SSIDs. I simply can't connect to any of them. Just like hallo dare said in his post a few back, when I try to connect to my SSID, it tries to connect for a second or two, and then it just shows "saved" and wifi is disabled.
So, for now I'm still completely stumped.

Okay, I will do exactly what subaash said and report back. I, too, agree that it's probably software related, which is why I'm actively attacking this issue.
Be back as soon as I can.

P.S. "Son?" Hmm, I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm older than you (will be 60 in March).
Success ... maybe?
Well, well. It appears the previous suggestions were correct. So far it's successful, but I haven't quite finished the initial set-up. All I can say is that WiFi is working, and I'm grateful for that.
However, it was a frightening ordeal. At one point I thought my device was bricked, and I didn't know what to do. However, with some thought, I was able to solve the problem.
Good news, though, is that I DID NOT have to revert back to Nougat. I'm now running Oxygen Oreo 8.0.0 Open Beta 2.
I will provide a detailed instructions of what I did a bit later. I simply want to get everything up-and-running, which could take a few hours.
Here's an abbreviated version:
Downloaded Oxygen Oreo 8.0.0 Open Beta 1 from here:
http://downloads.oneplus.net/oneplus-5/oneplus_5_oxygenos_openbeta_1/
Downloaded Stock Recovery from Post #2 here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/how-to/official-oxygenos-4-5-2-7-1-1-ota-t3627003
Copied both files above to root of device internal storage
Reboot into TWRP recovery
Flashed stock recovery in TWRP
Reboot into stock recovery
COMPLETELY Wiped the entire system ... absolutely everything ... including internal storage. This is where I had the initial problem. I did not wipe everything, including internal storage, and I ended up with a mixture of jumbled numbers and letters when looking at the file structure.
Using ADB Sideload within the stock recovery, I "moved/flashed" the ROM ZIP to the device
After successful sideload, I said yes to installing the ROM
The ROM then installed and, voila, I'm at the initial set-up screen.
Okay, that's all for now. I'll be back later.
Peter
Format data resolves the problem (at least with me...)
