Well I flashed NexusSence 0.3 earlier today and love it,
The only thing is I get no service and obviously cant use the phone or data, I thought this was a problem with the ROM but after restoring to a Nandroid back up I still get no service. I have several back ups and none of them resolve the issue.
Can someone please advise as what I do next.If anything. I have searched but not found anything that makes feel confident in doing anything else without first asking.
I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure I need to flash the radio .img but the question is which one??
Thanks
***********************************************************
I'm in no way blaming NexusSence for this, it could and probably was something I did or didnt do.
the funny thing is I still have signel bars that apear to work and when i go to
>setings>wireless & networks>mobile networks>network operators.
I can scan and picks up my local mobile network carriers,
When I choose O2 who ive got my contract with it says:
Registering on O2 Network
then:
Unable to connect to this network at this time. Please try later
HELP
Have you tried...
Have you tried going back completely stock and unrooting. Try using one of the official rom images in the dev section
Exactly the same issues.
I was on NSCollab before this, restored and facing the exact same issue as the OP.
Right now im flashing NSCollab again, will restore again if the fresh installation fixes the issue.
btw. which version of CWM are you using?
Something similar happened to me with an i9000. I solved it by flashing back to stock AND doing a factory reset on the stock ROM.
Also verify that your IMEI hasn't been erased.

I have no idea but did a quick search and found this:

^ Nope the addresses are completely different.
iv'e had this happen on 2 occasions, first was on CM7 nightly 85, other was on Zuluzulu rom, i thought it had something to do with CM7, reverted to a former back up i made, wich was fine, and now on and AOSP rom, also without a problem!
really like to know what causes this problem, as i like CM7 roms the most!
Hey, I normally wouldnt make a help thread. But Im at a total loss of ideas on how to fix this. My Nexus 4 has been running on AOKP 4.3 nightlies for a week or so perfectly fine. Today out of the blue I lost signal all together, so I went through the normal steps of checking if everything is in order. I tried to go into my apn settings to check those, but I just got a force close upon opening my mobile networks settings. I tried using the *#*#INFO#*#* menu to check my phone settings in there, but that force closed as well.
So I flashed a clean ROM and tried to check my APN settings. I was able to get into the APN menu this time, but when I would try to save an APN and it would just exit the setup screen without saving an APN. When I try and change the setting to anything (for example, GSM, WCDMA, etc) in the *#*#INFO#*#* menu it instantly resets to "UNKNOWN" I have tried flashing multiple new radios, and new kernels and nothing has worked. I'm totally lost.
Any help would be enormously appreciated. All of my previous phones were CDMA phones so I cant really just swap my sim into an old phone to use.
EDIT: Problem was resolved. If you find this thread because you have a similar problem, download the factory image from Google's site and flash that. That fixed it for me.

I've tried flashing a few of the radios from that thread with the same result every time, unfortunately.
Currently what ROM you're using? If you're on nightlies you should be aware that it isn't stable. I suggest you restore your nand backup if you have one.

Im currently on an AOKP nightly. Im trying to flash back to stock but Im having trouble getting it to do that for some reason too. Its acting like its been flashed, but it always boots up into AOKP again. Trying my hand at another toolkit before I start attempting to do it manually.

Flashing back to a factory image fixed the issue. Thank you!
Don't forget to make a backup. By the way I just got my 4.3 with CM 10.2 working with franco kernel.
So, I was using my phone at a mall. I stepped into a store and I noticed I had no more LTE. The signal was weak, so I thought it was just the building. So I got to a stronger area and restarted the phone, and still no data. I tried restarting several times and I tried selecting different APNs (I'm running 7/15 nightly of CM13). Eventually, I took the sim card out of my wife's iPhone 6S and the LTE worked fine. My sim card worked OK in here phone as well. But once I put mine back in, I have no data (not even 2g or 3g). I thought it was just my sim card, but then I can't understand why it works in my wife's iPhone 6S. Any ideas? I'm updating to the latest nightly of CM13.

My suggestion is to start fresh by fastboot flashing the latest 6.0.1 factory images. Verify that your mobile data/LTE are working. Then, install TWRP. I would also download a fresh copy if the CM13 ROM and verify the md5 is correct. Flash CM13 again and see if you have LTE again. If you don't have LTE after flashing CM13 again we know it is something that has changed in the ROM.

I think you're right. I'm going to have to do this. I got a new SIM card from Verizon and data was fine. Then once I went to work and entered into my office, which has a poor signal, I wasn't able to get data back (can still call and send/receive texts). It makes no sense as to why it won't reconnect after a reboot, but I guess this is the only option.
Yeah I agree. Fastboot flash the factory images to give yourself a fresh start. Confirm that everything is working on a fully stock build. Then root, recovery and flash. I would try a different ROM that is not CM based to see how your voice and data works. Let us know how it goes that way others in the forum who may run into this issue can read about what was performed on your device and know what to do to help themselves. Good luck.

So I flashed the factory images back onto my phone and I got data back. I guess there is a strange bug in the latest nightly of CM13. Of course, I haven't been able to go to an area where I have poor reception. Now I have to find a ROM that offers the LiveDisplay feature CM13 offered. I like my screen to be a bit colder than what Huawei calibrates their displays to.

I knew there was something in the CM13 based ROM's that was causing you to lose data. Also, If you use a custom kernel like Elemental or Elite you can control the screen colors and make it how you like it. Give Pure Nexus a try. It's a super nice ROM. The dev is awesome. He does great work. Maybe give Chroma a shot. Also, you could try Resurrection Remix. It's a CM based ROM but it may not give you the data issues. It's worth a try. Lemme know what works. Good job on getting the factory images flashed and getting data back too.

Below is my original post; however, I've since solved the problem. In an effort to help others with the same problem, I've written a Guide, which should explain exactly what to do if your WiFi is suddenly "broken" due to flashing issues.
Here's the link: OnePlus 5 WiFi Fix
Many thanks to everyone who offered help, especially subaash and hallo dare, who put me in the right direction.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Greetings, everyone.
Sadly, for specific reasons unknown, my WiFi appears to be completely broken.
Over the last few days I've gone "flash happy" by trying several Oreo ROMs for my OP5. Some worked while others just froze at the boot animation.
Unfortunately, shortly after flashing the xXx-NoLimits Oreo ROM, which got me to the initial set-up screen, my WiFi would not connect. So, I then bypassed the WiFi part and finished the set-up. Everything seemed to be working very well, but I could not get WiFi to work.
Yes, I could engage the Wifi slider to the ON position, and there would be a list of SSIDs; however, oftentimes even my 2 SSIDs would not display. When they did, and I tried to connect, I would see the connection attempt, but it would not complete the connection. Only the word "saved" would be shown under the SSID name. Then it would automatically try to reconnect, but without success.
I've tried virtually everything I can think of to solve the problem, but I can't connect to WiFi.
All other communications work, i.e., Bluetooth, Data, making and receiving calls. It's ONLY the Wifi that's not working.
Yes, I completely wiped my device and re-installed the original OxygenOS (4.5.14), but that didn't work. I also tried completely wiping the device and then installing that latest OxygenOS v4.5.15, but that didn't solve the problem, either.
I went back and flashed all the previous custom ROMs in an attempt to see if any of them would work, but nothing. I tried NitrogenOS, HalogenOS, Liquid Remix, xXx NoLimits, and they all could not connect to WiFi.
I even tried a few WiFi Fix apps on Google Play, but they didn't work, either.
Oh, yes … I even checked my router. It's perfectly fine. I can get WiFi on my laptop without a problem. Furthermore, when I went to a local coffee shop this morning that provides free WiFi, my phone could not connect, just like at home.
Does anyone have ANY suggestions?
Thank you,
Peter
I would say this is to do with your firmware/modem.
I did have this issue on a non Oreo ROM and in the end I just did a dirty flash and it worked.

I've tried flashing both the 4.5.14 and 4.5.15 firmware, with no luck; however, I accidentally deleted my modem nandroid about a week ago.
Do you know where I might find a flashable modem file?
Thanks,
Peter
Addendum: I found the following site for Firmware & Modems:
https://www.jamal2367.com/?dir=OnePlus 5/Firmware + Modems/Android 7.1.1/OxygenOS
I'll try flashing them and report back.
Addendum 2: NOPE! Didn't work. I flashed a few different firmware & modems, 4.5.13, 4.5.14 and 4.5.15, but WiFi is still broken. Yes, I first flashed the appropriate OS version before flashing the firmware and modem. In other words, I always matched the OS version with the firmware & modem version, but no success. Everything works except WiFi. Hmm, still stumped.

Sadly, no. I've tried absolutely everything I can think of, all without success. It's very frustrating because absolutely everything else works, except WiFi.
All I can do now is wait for suggestions from others, or take the phone to a repair shop (which I'm hesitant to do).
Peter
Thanks for replying. If you happen to get it sorted, please let me know. I will do likewise if I manage to fix it. Thanks

Do you have a full rom backup? I mean of the last working rom you had before all the flashing? If so, from a full stock rom (1.53gb or close) of the same build as the backup (ie... 4.5.14) wipe and flash that rom, then wipe and restore the backup you have if the last working rom. If they doesn't work I think you're likely looking at a hardware issue.

So first of all the reason why it is broken is because of the oreo firmware that you flashed earlier. Now what you should do is flash stock recovery and flash the oreo build and boot it up and running. Once you've done that flash the rollback rom (which suppose to downgrade your oreo firmware to nougat firmware). Once you've done it basically it fixes you're wifi issue.

Also the firmware / modem will be the problem, either upgrading or rolling back..either way it'll be the cause.

Okay, let me first answer a couple of questions. Like I said in my first post, I DID flash the original ROM, as well as other OEM OxygenOS ROMs, all without success. Yes, I used the exact same ROM that was working perfectly before the problem. Yes, I also had a FULL Nandroid of the working system, but restoring that also did nothing to solve the problem.
Okay, with that out of the way, I went to a repair shop this morning to try and solve the problem. It was unsuccessful. The technician said it's unlikely to be hardware related because I can still get the phone to recognize all local SSIDs. I simply can't connect to any of them. Just like hallo dare said in his post a few back, when I try to connect to my SSID, it tries to connect for a second or two, and then it just shows "saved" and wifi is disabled.
So, for now I'm still completely stumped.

Okay, I will do exactly what subaash said and report back. I, too, agree that it's probably software related, which is why I'm actively attacking this issue.

P.S. "Son?" Hmm, I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm older than you (will be 60 in March).
Success ... maybe?
Well, well. It appears the previous suggestions were correct. So far it's successful, but I haven't quite finished the initial set-up. All I can say is that WiFi is working, and I'm grateful for that.
However, it was a frightening ordeal. At one point I thought my device was bricked, and I didn't know what to do. However, with some thought, I was able to solve the problem.
Good news, though, is that I DID NOT have to revert back to Nougat. I'm now running Oxygen Oreo 8.0.0 Open Beta 2.
I will provide a detailed instructions of what I did a bit later. I simply want to get everything up-and-running, which could take a few hours.
Here's an abbreviated version:
Downloaded Oxygen Oreo 8.0.0 Open Beta 1 from here:
http://downloads.oneplus.net/oneplus-5/oneplus_5_oxygenos_openbeta_1/
Downloaded Stock Recovery from Post #2 here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/how-to/official-oxygenos-4-5-2-7-1-1-ota-t3627003
Copied both files above to root of device internal storage
Reboot into TWRP recovery
Flashed stock recovery in TWRP
Reboot into stock recovery
COMPLETELY Wiped the entire system ... absolutely everything ... including internal storage. This is where I had the initial problem. I did not wipe everything, including internal storage, and I ended up with a mixture of jumbled numbers and letters when looking at the file structure.
Using ADB Sideload within the stock recovery, I "moved/flashed" the ROM ZIP to the device
After successful sideload, I said yes to installing the ROM
The ROM then installed and, voila, I'm at the initial set-up screen.
Okay, that's all for now. I'll be back later.
Peter
Format data resolves the problem (at least with me...)
hey,
is there any one experiencing incoming call issue , from other end if someone calls rings from their side but on phone there is no ring is coming and that calls goes to voicemail
I get that sometimes but only when my phone has been locked for a long time. Feels like calls don't come in because of some doze setting.
Have you find any workaround? i tried to dissable magisk and xposed then also its exist so it not doze issue right ?

Unfortunately I haven't found any solution. It still happens to me sometimes when my phone is locked for a while.
Now i. Am using non treble AeX rom, its okay still now no issues
Try change "preferred network type" to Global. Doing that solved the issue for me.
Some dirty flash updates can cause those issues. I have 2 backups, and one of them is creating this issue. Selecting Global as @christoophat proposed didn't fixed the issue in the failing backup. It actually was always configured as Global. Encryption has nothing to do. Clean flash worked fine. You all having this issue can test it by doing a TWRP backup of your data partition, wipe dalvik/cache/data and reboot. You don't need to go through all the google setup just skip all and test your incoming call.

Since I never dirty flash, never even do backups, not sure why you think that here.
And no, my phone (until the latest clean install of LOS 07/23 build I did last night) has never been set as Global default before on this phone, but either LTE/GSM or just LTE
I just tell you what worked on my phone, up to you to try or not. :highfive:

Sorry @christoophat, I wasn't answering you since you hav already found your fix. As you, I was adding info to bring some light to the issue, thinking on the other members still having the issue. I was asking them to try other things so we all could figure out all the possible causes of this behavior. I am in T-Mobile USA and I don't have the issue. I had to recover an old backup to reproduce the issue.
I am also on TMo USA too.
