Microsoft Releases Localised Windows Mobile 5.0 Emulator

We’re pleased to release localized Emulator Images that enable you to test your applications for Windows Mobile 5.0 software for Pocket PC. These images can be used in conjunction with the Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Software Development Kit (SDK). The SDK includes an emulator that uses a virtual machine to run the full WM 5.0 Pocket PC independent of your main operating system on the same machine.

Windows Mobile development

Hi,
I have a C++ project written for the Linux platform - the project is quite big and has a lot of .h and .cpp files.
I need to port this such that it can run on a Windows Mobile 6.1 device. So I have installed Visual Studio 2008 (free trial version) , SDKs, and emulator images.
Now I'm a bit confused as to what to do next. In VS should I go to File -> New -> Project from Existing code. ? After that what should I do?
Let's say I have a .h file (written to linux platform). Basically how should I start the porting process?
(I'm sorry, am new to this and I really appreciate some help)
Many thanks

There is no automatic/magic porting process to start
You need to:
1 - Learn C++
2 - Learn win32 API
3 - Port the project by yourself - which means modify each file by hand so the original Linux code will be adapted to win32 code for Windows Mobile.

WP7 Root Tools v. 0.10 and xapdeployx

Hi guys,
I've an Omnia7 Mi7Rom Nokia Ed. V2.1
Last week I formatted my PC with Windows 8 Enterprise Ed. (previously I've have windows 7 x64 and all working fine).
Today my WP7 Root Tools expires so I see that a new version of "WP7 Root Tools" was released.
I try to install version 10 into my omnia7 using XAPDEPLOYX but I receive this error:
--
Deployment started WP7 Root Tools
Connecting to device...
Deployment FAILED with the following ERROR:
0x89721508
--
I've already installed:
- Zune (latest version with full relationship)
- Register protocol required by XAPDEPLOYX
- My phone is obviously unlocked
- I've already uninstalled expired version of wp7 root tools
I've always used this software to deploy xap to my WP, but now I'm not able to do this with windows 8 (I don't know if the problem is windows 8 or something else).
Do I miss some prerequistes?
Can I try different methods to install xap to my WP?
Regards
EDIT: I've installed WP7 Root Tools via web browser, but the problem with XAPDEPLOYX still resist.
SOLVED: WindowPhone SDK missing on my new windows 8 Environment

[Q] Installing Windows Phone SDK on Atom

I have Samsung Ativ Smart PC notebook (tablet transformer) based on Intel Atom Z2760 and Windows 8 x86 core.
Windows Phone SDK 8.0 required Windows 8 x64, Hyper-V and hardware virtualization. But if I don't need Windows Phone Emulator, I don't need Hyper-V and hardware virtualization.
Is there a way to install Windows Phone SDK without Emulator?
(Sorry, translated from Russian)
oh
The windows phone SDK comes with a complete set of tools, so while installing you can't CHOOSE what you want or not....
You have just 2 options-
1 : Install it with every thing which is present in the SDK.
2 : Maybe after installation TRY to delete/uninstall the phone emulator separately but at first you HAVE to let it install completely.
Hit thanks if you got me..!!

New Java / Android programmer needs IDE advice

Programming Inerests: Java Linux/Windows and Java/Android
Tools: Eclipse w/WindowBuilderPro, Android Studio
Tools tried: Netbeans, Intellij. (Don't like non native code Window builder)
App Interests: Networking, System Utilities, service extending, games
OS: Linux Mint 17.1, Lolipop 5.1
Please give me an idea of what software you use so I can try it like I did Above
Android Studio is very good.
Android Studio - no question about it.
It also means you can switch to JetBrains other IDEs without much trouble e.g. PhpStorm, PyCharm, etc.
