Is this true according to the spec sheet it states that the rear camera is 3MP and the rear is 2MP but one of the video review was saying that it had 8MP rear camera which makes more sense...I really hope it's not 3MP rear camera right? can somebody confirm this???

I don't think the page is complete or accurate yet.
I wish a tablet does not have rear camera IF that can:
- Reduce the price
- Reduce the weight
- Increase room for more bigger battery
That one feature, rear camera, I will never use it. WHY?
- I have my Android phone with a good camera
- I have my digital camera
- I will look like an idiot holding the tablet for taking picture
I would guess the rear camera is more for augmented reality type apps rather than picture/video taking.
To answer your question, yes the rear camera is 3mp while the front is 2mp. However, keep in mind megapixels is not always telling you the quality of the camera. The important parts of the camera would more be the sensors and lens and such. With this particular camera it has been taking phenomenal shots that is on par with my Dinc that has an 8mp rear camera.

I've been having a play with the camera and it is surprisingly good.
The rear camera is:
10.1v -> 8Mp
10.1 -> 3Mp
Hmm, I am curious why Samsung would reduce the rear camera from 8mpx to 3mpx in the 10.1v vs 10.1?
Granted, I do not see myself using a camera on a tablet for anything too serious, but seems an odd step back from the existing 10.1v.
With the XOOM spec-ing in at 5mpx, and buyers looking at the differentiators (like weight and thickness, SD Card, etc.), I wonder if the rear camera mpx will be a deal breaker for anyone. I would see an 8mpx camera like on the 10.1v as a good differentiator over the XOOM.
Maybe cost is the driver?
...or the new thinness spec required a smaller sensor.

I noticed that my new TD2 has a very poor quality of the front camera compared to the D1. I don't know if it's faulty, but it looks like digital zoomed, even if settings are superfine and L size.

It's just a crap camera... that's all. You wouldn't need a better resolution for video calling anyway. If you really need to make loads of self portraits, then rather find a friend.

LOL !!
But I think that the back 5mpx camera is crappy too... (compared with my old Nokia N95 classic).
If the ambient light isn't PERFECT, the camera is useless...
Front camera is a VGA (640x480) CMOS unit with no zoom capabilities; It will look blocky on almost any screen nowerdays (It's even lower resolution than the screen on the phone itself). As for the rear camera being worse than the N95 classic, the N95 was fitted with Carl Zeiss optics; Specialist lenses for cameras, and fairly good quality considering the market. It was (and still is) a very good camera phone. HTC cameras are *notoriously* bad. Autofocus is great, but no use without a decent CCD and optics. Heavy blurring under motion and poor ambient light handling are typical issues. The trouble is that HTC don't make camera phones, they make PDAs with camera and phone capabilities. Still, it's better than the iPhone...
If you want a decent camera above all else, send your phone back and get either a Pixon or any SE phone / Nokia N series handset.

OK I know that... but why make a phone with *5mpx* camera with crappy lens ? Why don't make 3.2mpx camera with good lens ? Just marketing ?
And I`ll pay some extra 20$ for some LED flash too
Wait.. I said so 'cause the front camer on Diamond 1 was waaaay better!
This one looks ugly, dark, pixelated and zoomed. Just sh**ty!
I was supposing that it's kinda faulty. I would try how it is after a rom upgrade... atm still stick to the rom in signature.
Anyone else have these very very bad grainy pictures?
This is with the front camera

Really? No one has a Note 4 that takes grainy pictures with the front camera?

We do, but it's expected. It's the front camera. The sensor is small, and obviously it will be worse than the back camera.
Also check that you don't have the selfie filter set too high... in selfie mode, it is automatically enabled and it blurs your face etc... it works for me and my wrinkles.. LOL
lol
I have the beauty shot down to 0 and this still happens. And compared to a Note 10.1 for example, the pictures are horrible. I am not comparing it to the back camera!
I have an LG G2 Mini before and the front cam is better on that mid ranger than this flagship phone, IMO. How to improve the S5's camera? Photos look so washed out.
Buy a phone with a better front facing camera?
I agree w you...the front camera of my s5 is pretty disappointing... But the rear camera is awesome
Gidday folks, just got this awesome new phone but I'm incredibly concerned about the front facing camera... See my attached pics and let me know.
Excuse the ug face...
The front facing camera on the G6 isn't brilliant. To get the best possible image quality from it it's best to use the wide angle setting as the zoomed setting is just a crop of the wide angle image.
The front camera is definitely one of its weak points though.

Don't know why LG reduced from 8mp to 5mp to the front camera? Use the rear wide angle camera and use it for selfies.
What do you guys think about the camera performance? For me the front camera is great but the rear camera is disappointing. There is often blur in the pictures, especially on the sides of the photo. Perhaps I got a faulty unit.

I have the same thoughts as you my friend, great performance from the front facing and nice to have front flash for those awkward moments but as for the rear facing camera I absolutely hate how when you from picture to video you really notice the difference and looks very tacky that's for sure. Quite sad to see no 60 FPS recording option but then again, it is a mid ranger so I can't have high expectations etc.
I do really miss using my Xperia X camera compared to the XA1 Ultra, boot up time on my X is insanely fast. Sometimes when booting camera from lockscreen can take 5-6 seconds to open which is slightly painful lol...
