I had CyanogenMod 6 which became slow so I tried to reboot in recovery while USB was connected it didnt get into recovery mode and after reboot its stuck on CyanogenMod boot logo. When I try home + power it boots without going into recover mode and gets stuck in boot loop of CyanogenMod screen. I kept it on till the battery drained (almost 8 hrs 2-3 times) so dont think its issue with keeping it on for longer time.
So far I have tried all possible spamming.zip and spamming.nbh none of them work either get wrong model ID or update failed. I am not able to log in through ADB. adb devices doesnt show me any devices. But when i try fastboot devices i see my phone. But i can not push anything it says remote not allowed.
I tried goldcard but I cant get to the system files so cant swap the hex digits to create goldcard. I know someone would have a better idea.
Need some help from the experts .. please. Its been more than 2 weeks trying out all possible solutions but no luck.

I am unable to do that because I cant see my device in adb. Is there some way I can send my phone to t-mobile or htc and they can reset to factory setting? I am surprised that there is not a way to just flash rom with factory settings.
do you know anybody that have a HTC phone? i'm pretty sure some of your friends have one coz HTC phone are almost everywhere nowadays
Simple.... run these commands to establish your current status.
Based on your answers, i can properly asses your situation.
Code:
fastboot getvar version-main
fastboot getvar cid
Maybe we can fix this without the use of goldcard.

you will also need to install correct drivers on your pc, install pdanet on your desktop, that should do it
In order to use fastboot to push any commands the phone must have an ENG. Hboot. When you boot into bootloader what does it say on the top line on the page with the skateboarding andriods on the bottom? If it says VISION PVT SHIP S-ON your pretty much stuck. The phone is a paper weight. HTC is probably the only one who can fix this. It must say VISION PVT ENG S-OFF or at least VISION PVT SHIP S-OFF if there is any chance for fixing it. The only other hopes in fixing it is to flasch the stock PC10IMG to the phone in bootloader but this will only work if the phone did NOT have the OTA 1.22 rom update applyed to it. There is no way to tell this unless you try it out, but if you do have S-OFF do not try this because it will turn S back on and your screwed. If it says S-Off there is a cooked version of the PC10IMG by hot_hands that you can flash that will keep your S-Off and give you root access plus it will flash the ENG Hboot for you, I have a copy of this at home and can post it later for you, if you have S-Off.

Hi,
my daughter updates from settings/updates their previously rooted My3G T-Mobile phone and now it is a endless booting loop.
Recovery is still there but can't select the options, i can navigate through all four but phone buttons do not execute them.
I can access fastboot, also Hboot and have a Gold Card.
So, i read every thread and tested many things but i need guidance because i don't want to do further damage.

I believe this link: http://android.d3xt3r01.tk/cyanogen/magic/nbh/coc10/SAPPIMG.nbh
will work. Download and put it on the microsd card that came with the phone (don't put it inside a folder). Turn on the phone to the bootloader, and it should detect the file. It should ask if you want to apply the update. Say yes, and then you will be back to stock. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks TheBlade.
Performed the suggested process and got "Main Version is older!" Update Fail! message.
Anything else to try?
At this point I believe putting the file on the goldcard would work. It seems as though the update was partially completed, and so it refuses to let you flash an older rom. The goldcard forces it to flash the rom, so put put the file on the goldcard, and try to flash again.
Hoping it works!

First of all, my phone is the T-Mobile myTouch 3G 1.2 32A with the headphone jack and all that.
So I've been trying to flash new SPLs, radios, ROMs, and recoveries, and I've messed things up. I could use some help because I'm totally lost at this point.
The main issue I'm having now is my phone is hanging on the green myTouch 3G screen. I CAN load into fastboot, however. I've been flashing radios and recoveries, but I can't seem to get the phone to boot.
The current readout at the top of my fastboot looks like this:

I recently flashed the x.26.x radio because I saw some people saying that helped... I think. But I've been using this fastboot commander (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824435) to flash back and forth between the "old" and "new" packages of spl and radios.
Oh yeah, and the recovery I last flashed was titled "recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.7.0H". Didn't seem to help my issue. Still not able to get into recovery, only fastboot.
I assume since I'm still able to flash radios and such that I'm not totally screwed, so if someone could point me to the correct files or something, that would be much appreciated. At this point, I'd settle for resetting this thing to factory settings. Whatever it takes to make it functional again would be nice.
Please help! Thanks in advance!
Stop what you are doing!
Find and flash the 1.33.0013 or 0013d spl, a 2.22.x radio and they version of amonra recovery from fastboot. Then you sould be back up and running.
These files are easy to find but ill get you links if you have trouble
OK, I've downloaded what seem to be the correct files. I'll try those out, but for right now it seems my battery is too low to continue. I'll let you know if I have any more questions when I try later, though! Thanks for replying!
Well, I tried those files with no luck. Perhaps you could link me to the right ones? Maybe I got it wrong.
Anyway, my fastboot readout now shows:

Still can't get into recovery. I'm currently having trouble getting files onto my SD card. I think you can manage files through the fastloader while connected to USB, but I guess I need drivers for that. I can't seem to find those. :/
If I could get that to work, I could try flashing a ROM. The last ROM I had on there was Cyanogen 6, though.
I was able to get access to my SD card through other means, but how do I flash a ROM from fastloader now? I tried putting an update Zip file in the root. Not sure if that's right. :S

Roms are flashed through recovery.
So if you dont have a working recovery or rom then you'll have to restore to stock then re-root
Put this on your sdcard and name it sappimg.zip and pot your phone with volume down + power

Is there already a tool for Rooting the HTC Magic automatically?
I'm looking at making a tool that will do everything needed to get HTC Magic rooting with minimal knowledge needed by the user.
This was my first Android Phone and I rooted it no problems the 2nd time around. My first attempt resulted in a hard brick. I was lucky and the phone was replaced. My second attempt went better and I was able to sucessfully root, install Amon_RA recovery, flash Eng SPL, Custom ROM.
I was hoping to help make the process a little more "foolproof" for first timers.
I searched the forums here and have yet to find such a tool.
With help and suggestions I would like to make this program support multiple phone models both HTC and beyond.
Superoneclick. Roots in... well... one click
superoneclick seems to work pretty well, not sure if there others like it.
Yeah. SuperOneClick is the best and easy.
SuperOneClick is good for rooting but it doesn't flash an Engineering SPL or ROM.

In theory there are following differences between types:
Magic 32A: hboot 1.33.xxxx / radio 3.22.xx.xx OR hboot: 1.76.xxxx / radio 6.35.xx.xx; MID: SAPPxxxxx
Magic 32B / MT3G: hboot 1.33.xxxx / radio 2.22.xx.xx; MID: SAPPxxxxx
MT3G v1.2: hboot 1.33.xxxx / radio 2.22.xx.xx; MID: SAPP31000 (only); 3.5" audiojack
You can query hboot, radio and modeild from fastboot commands:
Code:
fastboot getvar version-bootloader
fastboot getvar version-baseband
fastboot getvar modelid
But it is not enough. In some cases there are exceptions like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23595971&postcount=1
User wrote about Magic 32B, but device changed to 32A via inappropriate radio
Just note: it is a "brick" (half or full). If phone has 1.33.xxxx hboot, then it can not have radio 6.35.xx.xx - it will not work normally.
Case #2 - modelid can return sapp*****

after taking my phone from a store that fix cellphones. I took the phone there to change the screen that was cracked and the inside screen that was dead. When I took back my phone and I started the phone, that is the moment I saw that. I was running Dark Side rom. I got a PD15IMG from 4share that I found here in xda forums but when I start doing the updating, it just stays there and do nothing else. Hope someone can help me with this problem.....ohh and before taking the phone there the Ship was S=OFF...I dont know if that have to do something with it.

Looks like they changed your motherboard.
The easy way is: go back to the store and ask them either to restore what you were running on the phone, or to bring you to the stock ROM.
Your only chance to do it yourself is to find PD15IMG for the latest stock ROM - including the latest update by T-Mobile that bumps the HBOOT from 0.89.0005 to 0.89.0006 (if it exists at all). The standard 2.2.1 and 2.3.4 PD15IMG files that are the most shared on the forum won't help you.

Thank you for joining, I think you reminded me of what might be the correct answer. 0.89.0006 is the HBOOT that is made by HTCDev unlock.
In this case, OP, what you need to do is the following:
1) Proceed with HTCDev unlock.
2) Once unlocked - flash custom recovery.
3) From custom recovery, in root ADB shell, override the main version on MISC partition (find this part in the downgrading guide).
4) Copy PD15IMG.ZIP with stock 2.2.1 Froyo PD15IMG.ZIP to /sdcard for downgrading.
5) Reboot to FASTBOOT (put attention - NOT to HBOOT! execute "adb reboot bootloader", or choose "reboot to bootloader" option from recovery).
6) Relock HBOOT.
7) Execute "REBOOT BOOTLOADER", proceed with downgrading flash.
8) Boot the phone regularly, it should boot.
9) Root and S-OFF.
10) Do whatever you want.
Sounds odd hope ya did not up date the ring radio is it boot looping or just stuck on mytouch 4g screen? Best bet is to dl a new file n see what happens might be a soft brick good luck

Ok, I was trying to unlock bootloader using Htcdev and everything was ok until i got to the cmd. I type the command and as soon and I hit enter i get this
<bootloader> [ERR] Command error !!!
so...that mean the phone have no fix?
You're writing a wrong command. Most likely making a typo, or not copy-pasting.
That's the thing, i was writing the right thing but nothing happened
Can It be a Hardware problem?
Most likely not. Can't be 100% sure.
I took the phone to a store to see if they can get the phone back to life. They told me that, the phone its done...but I read this article in xda where it says that if you can enter in the bootloader, you still have hope and if you try to upload and update with a PD15IMG and it doesn't say Fail P-U it means the phone can still work...
So i tried everything to recover my phone...but it seems Its just hopeless. I tried by using cmd but its still saying that there is an error in the command. I tried with every possible PD15IMG available out there and still can't get it. BUT I still reading that as long as you can get into HBOOT you still have hope...if there is someone out there that can fix this...or It's just the end of my phone T_T
