Greetings to fellows android users and contributers ,
I would like to seek advice on what is wrong with my phone while im playing some games for example : modern combat 2 HD
I managed to flash my galaxy SL from XXKB2-----> XXKB3 successfully without any problems and also swapped my internal and external memory to give the phone internal memory of 14.8GB in total .
Before I swapped the memory cards , I was playing modern combat 1 and it ran smoothly . but after I installed modern combat 2 , some scenes during the in-game gunfire would flicker like a spoiled TV .
Questions :
1) is it because of the extra large internal memory of 14GB CLASS 4?
2 ) is it because of some steps Im supposed to take before I play some high-end graphic games.
sorry if my questions sounded noobish.

It happened with me recently after the swap of 32gb memory card to internal memory with Asphalt 6.
Just delete the data file required by game and re-copy.
Solved this in my case.
(i had backup of data files of asphalt 6 so i coped back to memory card again n deleted old)

I'm not sure about my answer but i think this is the problem..
External And Internal SD Cards have different Write and Read Speed.. Internal is faster because it is built in your device.. Because you swapped your internal and external the default for data storage therefore will be the external SD which has lower read and write capabilities compared to internal SD.. (This is just my opinion and i'm not sure weather it is correct or not.. If i'm wrong please correct me )

I.dont think.so bcoz.other games which r.larger in size.are.vorking correctly

I tried recopying the game files back into my Pseudo-internal memory card ( aka : swapped external memory card )
FYI : My external is Kingston class 4 16 GB
I did it 3 times but the game still have this problem ( blurred spoiled scenes when enemies are shooting me ) , same happened with my other game .
I searched the site I downloaded a software : SD speed increase ( by Diego Stamigni ) but it didnt work ady.. I put the value on 2048kb. ( original was 128 kb )
Is there any other solutions? thanks for those who helped. appreciate it

Does running the game with power attached to phone help?
If it does, try installing setCPU from the market and setting it to Performance when you are playing the game.
Setcpu wont work........and playing while charging makes the fone smokin hot

Nope.. I tried playing it with the charger on but no use too.

hi guys so i tried some good games like asphalt 5 & 6 or even fast 5 but it seems that they don't work , so i wonder to check what peaple have noticed about gaming in photon with android games. As android for phton is not officiel we can't see the compatibilty with those games.
So pls everyone who have tried a game and worked good for him , post the name of this game just to let us know what kind of game we can play with android

I play: Angry Birds, Robo Defense, Fruit Ninja...but i think all game for low-medium device can work on our Mini
Anyway Asphalt 5/6 need a phone with high performance as Lg Optimus...
Well i have tried and works perfect, FIFA 10, PES 2011, NFS SHIFT, ASPHALT 5 (kind of slowly), but there are many games that it can be installed even if i unmount sd card.
I don't have a photon but you can try these:
Age of Conquest Asia (Like Risk)
Age of Conquest N. America
Cut the Rope (obvious lol)
Need For Speed Shift (#1 outta top 3)
Drag Racing
Apparatus (Mind Opener)
Scrabble
I play these a lot and there great time killers. Give'em a try lemme know if you need help with any levels. ;o)

how do you have installed those games (fifa 10, pes,ecc,)?? Because i can't install...For example i have installed Asphalt 5 from market (It's free!!!), but when i open it say "Your device isn't supported" and the game close...
And what mean "but there are many games that it can be installed even if i unmount sd card", what is unmount of sd card?? I can't understand...

Some games have problems with an extra SD card. This card can be unmount via software. I think it's the last option in the settings menu.

Hi i just search those games in mobile phone talk.com, and works perfect. You have to search ARM V6 processor. Unmount SD means, enter in settings, mass storage, unmount SD. Card. Any questions you have let me know

I searched for "hvga games" for lg p500,optimus one, ecc... but i couldn't install a lot of games ( i received this message "Application can't be installed" or in Asphalt 5 Free this message "Your phone is not supported

I've tried both miui v4 and aurora. I pretty much have less than 10mb free ram all the time. This seems to make multitasking impossible. My music never populates all my tracks.
Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to monitor or fix it?

I pretty much had a fresh install. Plus only a few apps...battery defender, set CPU, rom toolbox. Any free ram just got slowly eaten up until I had none left.

Ahm, i have around 190mb free ram.. so i think your problem is with some app you have installed.. try installing one by one app to see what app eats your ram.. always with no app running in backround...

So I ended up wiping and reflashing - problem still there, no apps installed. Weird.
Back to elite rom - over 100mb free.

about 50mb,too many apps.
I got 144MB free with there apps running :
Settings
Google services
Wiper app
Android keyboard
Phase beam
if your phone will need more RAM for some programs.. it gonna kills himself unnecessary applications to get more memory.
For example in my CM 7.2 sometimes i got only 20-40mb of free memory, when I launch some game and after few sec I close it, I got about 140-180mb free :]

I don't even have enough ram to multitask - I listen to music and play games at the same time on other roms no problems, but ICS roms I've tried don't even keep the media scanner open to populate my music player. I have to open it and wait for ages for each artist to slowly appear in the list.
I guess this is becuase it needs ram to do other things so stops the scanning process.
Maybe you should try another laucher?
I would suggest trying Go Laucher as it's light and fast.
There is also a option on the drawer to kill aps and free memory.
I do it all the time and get more than 100 Mb free just before running a game or something.
Also please note, than the more widgets you use, the more RAM you will need...
While most games work I have a few that don't.
Asphalt 5 or 6 don't work... most likely a build. prop issue.
Heavy Gunner has an xy axis issue that is reported to be an ICS issue.
GTA III does work.
Has anyone moved the build.prop to get more games to install?

Not sure about build prop but I can say that Nova2 HD doesn't work (Gameloft sucks), Shadowgun force closes sometimes. Dead Space, Temple Run, Angry Birds Space and N64 emulator all work well.

it works on mine...try to download the latest version, try the HD version, i'm using it.
GTAIII only barely works for me. It ends up freezing the controls, so if I was running, he just keeps running as I am still touching the controls. The controls also seem to lag greatly causing me to get my butt kicked when I am trying to mug people.
i'm considering buying this tab and games if definatly an interest. Was wondering has anyone tried a PSemulator on the tab? Wonder how that would play with something like say, FF7 also curious how Mini Motor Racing plays on the tab.

I removed it and re-installed it. Still doesn't work. It downloads the levels, goes to the PopCap screen then hangs forever, sometimes it makes it to the next screen (Loading...), then hangs.
I can't find a HD version, just the regular pay for version. It works just fine on my Atrix 2.
Real Racing 2 doesn't work. It installs but gets a server error 5002 when launched. I bought the Tab just for this awesome game!
I got a bunch of Gameloft games to work, by changing the build.prop to Galaxy Nexus. Same GPU as our tab, and high resolution, so the games should be optimized. Unzip this and overwrite the one inside /system/
Make a backup first, this might cause problems down the line.
EDIT: Yeah this kills sound. So, after you change your build.prop, download the games, install the data and restore your backed up build.prop. Sound will work again. The games will also still work.
There is an app on the market called "Device Spoofer" that makes this process easier.

Put sims free play on it for the wife to play. It runs really well considering its almost a gb of data downloaded.

Asphalt does work on my tablet(p3110) but Plants vs Zombies don't~~
Grand Theft Auto and Plants vs Zombies both work great for me on CM9.

I downloaded the plant vs zombiesHD version which was around 2 mb , later when I installed and launched the game it stopped working the message says "unfortunately plant vs zombies has stopped working" so any suggestions for this problem

That message you got is called a "force close" Some apps do this s8metimes especially if there are many apps fighting for Ram, thats when you need the multirasking butt8n, which looks like 2 frames with an overlap, selecting "Remove all" will clear up Ram.

hi!
PvZ works great for me, I am using version 1.3.16 with included data files to sd card.
however, it is always asking for network, just for starting the app.
GTA 3 work fine for me CM 10/1 and aopk oc kernel :good:
do you guys experience any lag in games on custom or official firmware and which firmware is best for gaming? I will get gtab 2 7.0 in few days so I thought it would be good to ask.

Nop, i can run Modern combat 4, GTA, dead trigger, spider man etc perfectly without any lag, using cm10.1 but with a official Rom it should the same.
I know this little laptop has 16gb internal storage, but I only have 800mb worth of apps and it says there is no more space (shows 11gig free under storage settings)
any way to increase the internal app storage?, I have rooted it using VRoot and installed superuser.
if app storage can't be increased then looks like i will be returning it to amazon..............would be a shame as it is a handy little android laptop.
Yes it has 1GB of Internal storage or RAM, and 12GB on the NAND flash storage. So the RAM memory must be getting full.
The solution for me after rooting was to uninstall pre-installed apps I do not or rarely use and to move my large apps to SD if movable. The best app I have found that accomplishes all of these is Clean Master. It does manage memory very well as well, plus it is free on the Play Store.
This Lenovo Laptop/tablet is definitely a keeper for me, even though the screen resolution let it down a bit. My 18month old Ipad - at twice the cost of this Lenovo Ideapad- has been lying unused and will soon be on eBay since I could barely multitask on it.

Good ideas, thanks for the suggestions.
I have just ordered a 32gig sd card from amazon and i have also downloaded Clean Master as you recommended.
I am now going of to the store to find an app to uninstall the pre-installed apps.
As you say the screen resolution is a bit disappointing, but I will give all your suggestions a go and use it for a week with the sd card and see if I can get used to it.

Grant root access to Clean Master and it will uninstall pre-installed apps and alert when a newly installed app can be moved to SD.

Excellent, my 32gb came this morning (amazon prime) and I have managed to free uo loads of space. I installed move2sd enabler, it will even move apps to sd that normally don't have this option! awesome!
Last question........can i get full screen? when playing a game or reading a magazine the task bar is always there, can I temp remove it?
Install an app called Fullscreen. There is a free version and a plus paid version in Play Store. I find the free version adequate for my needs
