[Q] problems with lestatious via CWM - Galaxy 3 General

hi, im new to clockworkmod and need a few pointers sorry,
so i open up cwm and hit install ROM from SD card,
i browse to the "update.zip" for lestatious 1.9 and select it
i then tick backup existing ROM and Wipe dalvik cache
then click okay to reboot and install
now the problems start, the phone reboots to the screen with the "!" in a triangle with the android man, So i took out the battery, replace it and start up the phone.
The phone shows the bootloader and then
" "Waiting for sd card to mount (8s)
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0pl
(orNULL)""
""Waiting for sd card to mount (7s)
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0pl
(orNULL)""
""Waiting for sd card to mount (6s)
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0pl
(orNULL)""
[/COLOR]
etc...
What can i do??
ive successfully flashed 1.8.5 btw

Anyone know?

You have to make a update.zip from his updater.bat
then by choosing the option in the terminal itself! transfer the update.zip to sd card
go to cwm recov and just apply update.zip thats it! dont choose this and that option!
Do this n temme!

Happened to me....u should ve waited in that android + exclamation screen....

Hi, I tried this and CWM says
Finding update package
Opening update package
Verifying update package
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted

I found no problem....
How you flash it ?
Do you use STOCK JPM >> Lestat 1.8.5 >> Lestat 1.9 with CMW update.zip ??

Just copy file to sd card
In cwm press install update.zip
It will install and than press reboot system
If you have invalid file copy new valid one on sd card

Cant mount internal/external sd vibrant

I cant mount the internal or external sd card on my samsung vibrant
Earlier i transfered music to my phone and it was working
Im running Axura 2.0.6 with the JK6 modem.
I cant ODIN since my computer wont recognize it.
When plugging in USB it simply makes a sound but has no notification.
Tried to do a system wipe on the phone and when rebooting it says denied.
Under phone storage it states Format SD CARD for internal but nothing else.
It does not say i can unmount it.
Ive tried the sdcard fix applicable via CMW but it fails to reboot into recovery mode
and when it does it says installation aborted.
I have renamed the sd fix to update.zip
attempted to flash other roms via cwm but im just stuck.
and still unable to mount.
any help?
EDIT: Cant open /cache/update.zip (bad)
then i try again and it says
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0)
Device or Resource Busy

Sounds like you had a lagfix that wasn't disabled before you tried flashing. I would ODIN back to stock. ODIN doesnt recognize your phone in download mode? If not, then you re most likely SOL or need a JIG to get it working. BTW, this def didnt need its own post, it could have EASILY been added to the other "cant mount" posts
If its the normal 2.2 mounting issue. Take a gander at this.

[Q] Acer A500 bricked with no CWM

Desperately need help. I bricked my acer while trying to install itsmagic.
Now I get yellow Asterix with Droid image in recovery mode.
I downloaded multiple update.zip files from various threads and used "apply: sdcard:update.zip" from android system recovery utility.
I always get "E: can't open /sdcard/update.zip"
me being stupid did not note down the Image I had on it before bricking it.
Is there a way to unbrick?
i do not think your tablet is bricked.go to thores full roms thread in dev. Download the correct rom for your area.put your SD card in a android phone format it put the file on your SD card put back in tablet and flash it.
If you did all of this and have a 3.2 rom on your device the above will likely not work.
Good luck
Thank you for the reply
I downloaded one of the full images, renamed them as update.zip and tried to apply from Android System Recovery Utility.
I get the same messages I got earlier
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
E: Can't open /sdcard/update.zip
(No such file or directory)
Installation aborted.
I erase all data using my nexus one and then in disc mode I copy the update.zip.
I bought this in US. Could you please suggest me an image I could try?

Try a different SD card. The smaller the better

Reformat your card and that should work
Thank you for the response. I was using a 4GB microSD and now I switched to 2GB.
Could you please point me to ROM Image for US region?

Problem on CWM 5

Using more than 1 kernal thats on CWM 5
when tring to install ay hing whn going to
-chose zip from sdcard
i get E:can't mount /sdcard/
whn changing kernal back to CWM version 4
every thing is ok and i cant mount and install
what is the problem
and btw whrn i go to mounts and storage
then i do to mount /sdcard
i get Error mounting /sdcard
Try the "install zip from internal sdcard" option, i noticed recently they swapped these things around in the kernel. If you chose install from sdcard it tries to install from the external sdcard that you put in the phone, same goes for backup and restore.

Are you trying to use ROM Manager? it doesn't work on Galaxy S II. If you're using CF-Root then use CWM app that it installs.
Just a tip: most members, myself included, don't usually respond to thread when the OP writes like you do. Personally it makes me think the person is thick and helping would be an arduous task so I usually avoid such threads.
Weird, /sdcard mounts working fine for me and backups and stuff always goes to the "internal SD"....

File not found [ after wipe ] HELP!!

Hi all,
i was trying to jump from kingdroid to criskelo what i did was:
i had already placed my rom in the internal sdcard.
installed CF-Root-SGN_XX_SEB_LQ3 through PC odin
went into cwm mode did a wipe
tried install zip from internal SD Card but now it says "file not found"
even rebooting dosent help it stays still at "Samsung galaxy note N 7000" logo
Kindly help
Thanks in advance.
Are you sure it's not on the other SD card?

yes sir very sure even the other sd card says " E: Can't mount /sdcard/ "
That happens sometimes. Go to mounts and storage>mount /sdcard. Try toggling 'mount USB storage' a couple of times and try again. And you should really not flash anything with that kernel anyhow. Use the CM9 kernel.

as far as I'm concerned this error appears when you dont have external sd card inserted.
Are you sure, you chose "install from internal sd card"?
