ADB doesn't see Galaxy 3 - Galaxy 3 General

Hey, I have a little (big) problem.
ADB doesn't see my phone anymore.
error: device not found
USB Debug is on.
PS: ADB works perfectly on my Desire, but not on Galaxy 3.

Check if its debugging mode...
Try replugging it. This works for me though

I think issue is with the drivers.
Check this http://android-simplicity.blogspot.com/2009/08/how-to-1-how-to-install-usb-driver-on.html

with some uninstalls and reinstalls with these looks like its working, thanks

Install one more time drivers on your PC. Maybe can help

It is not a driver problem it is Samsung problem!
Solution:
1. Unplug the USB cable
2. On the cell phone, dial the following number: *#7284#
Once the last # is hit, the PhoneUtil application is launched.
Choose USB -> Modem and then USB -> PDA mode.
The good mode should be PDA. Even if the mode is PDA, switch to Modem and then back to PDA!!!
3. Plug the USB cable.
Had the same problem, after this works great!

[Q] USB problem, phone charging but no connection between pc and pda

Hello,
I have an irritating issue since i flashed my Samsung GT-I5800 with Firmware I5800XXJPF.
Ever since I can no longer connect the phone to my PC. It starts charging, but it does not discover my phone.
I tried to change the USB mode from PDA > to modem and again > PDA using the *#7284# code but then some thing weird happens.
As soon as I put in in modem mode, the PC sees the phone (using ODIN), but I'm still not able to browse the phone (Micro SD) nor can I use the phone in "Kies" (the Samsung backup and management tool).
This results in not being able to flash my phone with the latest Firmware
Does anyone knows how I can enable my USB mode?
Thanks
Did u try this?
Settings -> Wireless and Network -> USB Settings -> Select 'Ask on connection'.
Try connecting the USB cable again, you should now get a notification to select which mode u want. Select Mass Storage.
Thanks man, that did the trick.
Suddenly the phone is working as ecpected in PDA mode, the flash worked, ... i'm a happy man!

if you have installed the driver correctly using rear usb ports if on a pc and set your phone to download mode correctly there is no reason why odin will not display com then a number in a coloured box under com:id which shows odin is connected and you have android adb device displayed in device manager

you can not use kies to flash or restore firmware on galaxy y - it is not supported and kies is just not needed
if you have installed the usb drivers from the link in my thread (in compatibility mode if on windows 8/8.1) - are using a working usb cable rear usb ports on pc and correct split firmware from my thread it will work
unless you have a faulty usb port/cable it will be due to user error

Are you boot into download mode already? If not , odin will not recognize your phone anyway

Try to use your cable connected from your pc and your phone again. If the same problem happened, try to connect your phone using that cable to another pc. BUT if that phone is not recognized, I think the problem is in the cable. Try to buy another one, and if same thing happened, the problem is in the usb port of your phone.

S4 doesnt get recognized by the Computer

Hey guys,
I read the other threads were people had problems but mine didn't get solved by that. I tried everything from re flashing the Rom/Gapps, taking out the Sim Card & Battery to put it back in, Restarting my phone, Using USB Debugging Mode, trying out different USB ports/cables, installing the Samsung USB Drivers/Kies 3 on my pc, etc.
But nothing I tried helped to solve this error. It started to appear recently but I didn't change anything. My Phone charges when I connect It to my PC but It doesn't show up as a device to transfer files to. Windows doesn't even detect that any device has been connected via USB... Any help is appreciated.
Try this:
dial *#0808# and select AP in USB Settings

Does it get detected when in download mode? If so, then it's either a driver on your pc or something on your phone.

If there even isn't a popup showing on your pc when connecting in download mode, then it's hardware.
Try to clean your usb port or replace the module.

Look, if it doesn't get detected while in download mode then it's:
- Not a software setting on your phone.
- Either you messed up the drivers (unlikely). Remove the drivers completely and it should detect your phone. But it doesn't according to you, so we can rule that out.
- Either you have faulty usb cables (unlikely). You tried multiple.
- Either you have faulty usb port on your pc (unlikely). You tried multiple.
That leaves hardware damage. That seems most likely to me.

Your right that makes sense.. so what do you suggest? I already cleaned the port on my phone. Its weird that it just stopped working from one second to another without me doing anything

Reformat computer or try different computer
Assuming, you have no problem with your USB port, USB cable, installed latest LG USB Driver 4.0.4, running Windows 7 or 10...
We need more detailed info from your part to tackle this problem. Are you running on stock rom, kitkat or lollipop? Are your rooted and do you have TWRP recovery?
Then, you need to disable "USB debugging" from the "Developer options" menu. Then replug your USB cable and you can now select MTP instead of charging only mode. Good luck.

i have fought the no mtp problem and everytime i lost. if you try new things they just dont work. what has worked was to reformat computer then it will work..
I had the same problem with my G2. Unknown usb device, and the error was: "unable to get device descriptor" or something similar. Tried all software solution without success, so i have started to looking for hardware defect. I've changed the usb module, but no success. So, as a last chance, tried another mainboard. And "tadaaaa"... That was the problem. So, start to look for a working g2 with cracked screen, as i did.

Broken digitizer Nexus 4, trying to control phone from PC

Hi there, the title explains most of it, I'm trying to control the phone with k.janku1's control tool, here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2786395
The phone has USB debugging enabled, is in MTP mode and ADB will find the device fine when I'm in recovery but when I reboot the device ADB won't find the device when it's turned on. I don't know if I'm being stupid or not! I also have all the drivers installed etc

Ah, I've just read Vysor's troubleshooting guide, it says to be on PTP but I'm on MTP
Is there a known way to change to PTP from MTP with a broken digitizer? I can still see everything on the screen as it's just the digitizer thats broken so I can use recovery via using the volume buttons & power button

There is no problem with MTP, only changing the mode may help to detect some devices. If you are on Windows I strongly suggest you to download latest USB drivers. Eventually check your setup with another android phone.
