MAGLDR driver was not sucessfully installed - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I have been flashing my HTC HD2 EU model without issue for weeks now, i have had many different versions of android on and had no problems carrying out all the steps, but after reinstalling windows i am unable to get the MAGLDR drivers to install it appears as an "other device" in device manager with error code 28 (no driver installed)
I have HSPL 2.08 installed. and radio 2.15.50.14
Heres what i have tried:
-install/remove HTC Sync
-install Windows Mobile Device Centre
-installed Android SDK and google driver revision 4
I have booted into bootloader and attempted to reinstall the radio AND HSPL, but the bootloader also shows as an "other device" and it does not show "usb" on the screen, so when i run "romupdateutility" i get connection error 260..
i am fresh out of ideas i have spent nearly a week and half googling the problem is as many ways as possible and nothing even remotely helpful has come up, if i boot into CWM i can mount the SD card and i can install (some) ROMS, but only ones that use the same partition layout i am currently using and i cant use any others because i cannot flash the partition layout.
Theres not an issue with the phone because i have a computer at work and it all works fine there, just wont work on my home laptop
any ideas?
*update* i have read a few people with a similar (not exactly the same) issue are he owners of bricked HD2's my device DOES work it works fine but just wont install this bloody driver so i can never flash another ROM and i dont know why. 36 views and NOONE has an answer?

in WMDC make sure 'allow usb connections' is unticked.

Thanks for that mate your a lifesaver that got it to install the device driver for MAGLDR, but i still couldnt get the bugger to flash via USB, strangely killing ADB in task manager solved this and i am not able to flash. Problem solved!

Has anyone found the resolution? I am also facing the same problem and because of this, I even cannot use Android Debugging.
Any help?

[FIXED]cannot install NAND roms anymore[FIXED]

Error happen
Read below for more information
Error Description: USB init failed
Info: .\RSPL\RSPL.cpp (723)
I got this when I first installed the standard DFT ROM, i found that by remving the accept USB connections in activesync resolved it and I was able to install. I then tried to install a different ROM and failed, I tried another and the same. I was initally getting RAPITOOL errors, dll not found. Reinstalled activesync and I am not getting those errors anymore but ROM still wont install. With error above.
Reinstalled Mag ok so bootloader installs still ok, anyone any ideas?
FECK, my NAND Android build has gone as well...
What helped for me:
- If USB is connected: right click on USB -> safely remove MAGLDR USB device
- remove MAGLDR USB driver from PC
- restart pc
- connect phone again via USB and let driver install
Should work fine again now. Guess something can go wrong in the USB driver sometimes.
mag does not show up as a device to remove, i will reboot and try again.
I think activesync reinstall resolved it as it worked after a rebooted, didnt reboot prior to that, thanks for your help anyway.
I spoke to soon, well managed to flash another ROM, didnt like it so flashed again, got half way through and then came up with error again, tried again, back to square one. Anyone ideas what is causing this?
rebooted, still the same, reinstalled activesync and rebooted, all ok again. Why is activesync required, cany anything else be used, anyone any idea what is happening here?
you can install magldr, radio or roms with ruu in 3 color mode in hspl...
get there with wol down key and end call button pressed
when magldr is already installed boot up your phone with pressing end call button until magldr menu appears
and then start you android flashing procedure the way cotulla explained it!
I had the 723 error too and what helped for me was executing the daf.exe with password secured admin rights (your profile on computer has to have admin rights and has to be password secured)

Hi, thanks for info but I am passed that point. I have already installed mag and tested my first ROM, I am having this problem when trying to flash new ROMS. I have now go another ROM on by reinstalling activesync and rebooting again, I am hoping someone is aware of this issue and let me know how to resolve it as I dont want to have to go through this rigmarole everytime I want to flash - as I am still at the stage of settling on a ROM and are trying all the current set.
In a much happier place right now. don't have to stress over winmo 6.5 anymore. Thank you all for your help. Lovin' Android on my HD2. So fast.

[Q] Problem mit flashing magldr versions

Hello...
I have a SD-bootable Android on a Dutty Windows ROM 6.5 with a working radio and HSPL 2.08. All perfectly working.
Now i want to go NAND and want to install MAGLDR. I start it as administrator, then i can select update and my phone goes straight from windows to bootloader. But after that i get the message that my workstation can't connect to my phone (althought boot loader says "USB"). I tried it directly from boot loader too and that too doesn't work (from there i can't even get the Update selection).
Could there be an issue with the Dutty ROM or has anyone else an explanation for this kind of behavior?! And is there anything i can do... maybe erase the whole ROM (HOW???) or anything?
Regards
Elmar
Is the error message by any chance "USB init failed"?
What version of Windows are you running? Also, do you have a firewall or antivirus application running? I have seen them interfere before and you could try temporarily disabling / deactivating them.
I have an antivirus (AVG), but it is only on Android, which i am not accessing when updating. As i said i tried from windows (6.5) and the update took me to the boot loader but then the windows application is trying to connect and then gets no connect and this error message appears :
"Error (260)
Check the following :
1. PDA Phone is connected via USB
2. USB cable is connected to the workstation"
And it is connected, which you can the on the fact, that the update is running my phone into the bootloader, but then i get stuck on 0% and after that the error message appears.
What you want to do is try disabling the allow usb option in active sync. Do this after you install magldr but before you try to flash the rom. This seems to fix the problem.

Hello again...
I am so sorry to have bothered you with my nonsense.
From the workstation i tried (which i strangely flashed all other ROM's before and had no problems) there had been missing the driver for the boot loader which pretty simple explains my problems here (Do'h).
Tried it from a workstation with internet connection and eureka, the driver installed and i could install magldr afterwards.
Thx for all your support and sorry for my homer-like thinking for not checking that before.
P.S. Any of you any recommandations for a good NAND ROM. I think i am going to try MDJ's CyanogenMod7. Or has anyone tried various and come to another good ROM?
Regards
Elmar

ROM update utility will not update ROM

I've been trying to install ACA CLk update to my HD2 since last night. Task29 will not clear rom. Just reads communication error. I have tried it on 2 win7 pc's along with a win xp pc with same results. Please help.
i am having the same error.
whether i run the ROM update utility or use the HD2 tools from the tri-color boot screen, i always get the same UPDATE ERROR (262, i believe).
i'm using USB2, no cradle or dock, brand new HD2.
any help? i'm stuck in a windows environment!
just to be sure : the communication is ok between the computer and ur phone ? u see USB in bootloader?
yes it is between my windows based pc and my HD2. and i have tried through boot loader, seeing seriel first then connecting and then it says USB. i've tried leaving it attached when i restart sit goes straight to USB. i have tried connecting with activesync/windows mobile and then running the ROMupdateutility.exe
i always get the same error: it stalls out right when the progress bar appears and never gets above 0%. then the error screen shows on my PC and i have to go through the recovery process.
thank you for any and all assistance! and sorry for the typos, im normally use swype.
this might have been the problem.
i did not have HardSPL3 installed.
i have done it, and then MAGLDR installed fine.
i skipped Task29 mostly bc i never ran that on earlier installs.
so try HardSPL to solve it, maybe?
(i'm still pretty new to this, so take my suggestions with a few grains of salt)

[q] htc hd2 flashing rom issue
Can anybody help me.I have MAGDLR and the Bootloader installed by a previous chap who owned the phone, all the correct versions. THe phone HD2 (T-Mobile), when I got it, had Gingerbread on,but the FM radio was not working,
so I thought an Upgrade was in order. I went to the MIUI website and downloaded the latest stable rom and followed the instructions as best as possible, but I had problems with the
Bootloader going from Serial to USB and being able to flash the rom like that. I then tried the loading the rom ZIP file to the SD card, and then using Clockwork orange recovery to
to install the ZIP file from SD card. That being said, I rebooted and the phone just stayed hung on the HTC logo screen. (And I didn't do a back up, before I started.)
I eventualy found a Jaws MIUI rom, that instaling via Clockwork Orange, worked, but it is Froyo and not a lot of stuff works very well. What is the correct procedure to install
from SD card, with Clockwork Mod Recovery? The Roms that I download, do I have to unpack the zip, do something on the files? I have read that depending on the rom that you have, when
doing a ClockWorkMod Recovery installation, that you need to have the right Size partition or image disk version of the Clockwork recovery MOD, But I can't swap and change this as my USB does not work between the phone and the PC.
I have installed active sysnc, does not work and I have tried this both on my Desktop and Laptop. As the one response suggests, Formatting your PC seems a bit extreme.
Help, Pleeeeeeeeez!
Thanks

[Q] Please help reviving HD2

My HD2 has no rom. Im able to access the bootloader, which says SPL-2.08.0000. I tried to install stock rom 2.10 and 3.14 from tmobile using 2gb MicroSD card, but phone gets stuck in the grayish screen saying "loading" or install in progress but actuall goes no where.
I can't do it via a USB connection because my computer keeps trying to install the device driver and it can't find it. So I think the MicroSD card is the only option buts its not working for me as I mentioned.
I'm new today to XDA, and dont know what other steps to take. Thanks in advance to all.
Update: At one point, it started the install and stopped with the message: Radio_v2 - RSA failed
The drivers you need fmto get the required HTC USB Synced connection in the bootloader is included in the Active Sync (for XP) and Windows Mobile Device Center (for Vista and Windows 7). Click on the guide linked in my sig as there is a link in the guide to the Microsoft site that has the both of them.
The radio fail message means it failed to install the radio version that is with the stock ROM so the install of the ROM was aborted. Maybe flashing via USB will work if not you may have a hardware issue.
I can't get my phone to load a rom either but I accidently tried to put a touch pro 2 rom on mines not paying attention so what I want to know is if their is a way to erase the memory for flashing I did a master reset with the phone off already anybody else ran into this problem if so do u know what I could do

The only thing I know of that you can do to "erase the memoy" as you said. is to one use MTTY or just a Task 29. Sorry I can not find the original tread on MTTY for HD2 but that one should still work for you. The best thing in my oppinion though is to just run a Task 29 as it is the easiest and does the same as the MTTY. plus jst so you know when you flash a stock ROM it runs a Task 28 (wich is pretty much the same thing, some do argue this fact though) before it flashes the ROM.
Go and check out recognized developer ksubedi's HD2 NAND Toolkit. It makes doing anything to the NAND ofthe HD2 very easy and simple, including Task 29.
Now the only concern I have is can you still get to the bootloader by powering on the HD2 while holding the volume down button down? Cause if not you you bricked the HD2 when you flashed the wrong ROM by accident. If you can you can still run th Task 29, oh and you have to have HSPL flashed to the HD2 to use the Task 29 also.
