It happened on me. I waited 1 hour after I upload my music, but there is no sync or download to my Xoom yet.
It turns out to be my Music app is not somehow updated correctly. I went to the market, which says I already have the latest Music app. But there is no option in Settings in Music at all. Until....
I cleared data in "Manage Applications" and Uninstall Updates for Music app. Then go to Market to install the update again.
Now you will see an option called "Settings" in the dropdown list at top right hand corner. Key in your google account then all sync will follow:

Thank you that worked for me
Anyone else having issues with Google Music not syncing after you have updated to 3.1?
Yep. Tried this afternoon to play some music but it said my library was empty. I looked in the Accounts & Sync menu and Music is no longer listed as a sync handler.
Most disappointing.
No issues here... everything is syncing up fine

Update your Music app and restart. If that doesn't help then clear Music app data and restart again.
Anybody have any updates on this?
I just got my galaxy tab 10.1 and when I open Music it says my library is empty even though I have tons of songs synced. Google Music works perfectly on my Nexus One - how do I get it working on my Tab?
Thanks!
EDIT: Fixed it. I cleared Data and rebooted. When I opened google music, I could see the Setting option in the menu (was not there before). It is working great now!
I have none of my picasa Albums selected of "view offline" however if I turn wireless off. I can still view the pictures. I plan to upload alot of pics to Picasa and don't want to fill my nexus up. I also noticed that my nexus 7 became laggy after I started putting pictures up on Picasa. I just want to make sure that it is copying all my pics down to the nexus.
Have you found an answer to this yet? I also have been trying to figure out the same thing. I thought at first it was just the thumbnails but once I view an album the pictures seem to remain cached despite my offline setting.
Isn't this to do with G+ instant upload???? Go to accounts in settings Google, then look at what syncs turn off Google pictures and instant upload and anything else that resembles g+ go to apps All scroll to gallery clear data and reboot and they'll be gone
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Yes, from what I've gathered it is the G+ instant and Google Pictures sync that adds the "picassa" albums to the gallery. I actually wanted my picasa albums in my gallery, however as I have over 100 albums I wanted them visible and accessible when online (to save space). I only want to chose a few select albums (kids, work stuff, etc) to make "available offline" but so far it appears as soon as I view an album it saves the full images in cache and still shows up when I'm offline, I don't want my storage getting eaten up by pictures that I only plan to view when online.
Hello,
I sync my music to the phone through Kies, but I am facing a continuous problem. The phone randomly decides to remove one of the playlists sometimes. The songs are still there, if I view "All Songs" I can find them, but the playlist itself is removed. I have to resync to fix the problem, but there is always a chance that another playlist will randomly get removed !
Anyone facing this problem? Any possible solution?
Is there any software other than Kies that can sync music to my S4 properly?
Thanks

Try this
go to Setting > Apps > All > media player > clear data, clear cache, force stop if these 3-steps didn work add one more > disable-enable it
if problem remains try to reinstall app
:good:
I did that, and I still got the same problem. (resynced, lost playlists). I can't see the playlists on both Samsung Music and Google Play Music
Hi,
in short, I want to hide all my Picasa/Google+ web albums from my Gallery app. Sounds easy, I know.
So, let me tell you what I did. Firstly, I disabled all sync services (Settings > Accounts > Google > (my gmail) ) that were related to photos, that is Google+, Google+ Photos, Drive and Google Photos (notice there was no option for Picasa Web Albums at all).
Then, I went to Settings > Apps > All > Gallery and cleared data+cache. Did the same for Google+ and Drive, just to be sure.
Unfortunately, after opening the Gallery app, Menu > Refresh, all the web albums were back! (firstly Gallery shows only albums from the storage, but then after some time, the web albums show up).
I went even further, and disabled ALL the sync services from Google (yes, all of them). Cleared data+cache for Gallery, G+ and Drive. Result? After refreshing the Gallery app, web albums are back!
I even removed my Google account (web albums were finally not in the Gallery), then added it again, turned off ALL the sync services and yeah, guess what, web albums were magically back.
Please help! I have no idea how to proceed now.
My specification: Nexus 10, Android 4.4.2.

Weird, I just disabled Google Photos sync and my Picasa albums stopped showing up in Gallery, I also deleted Gallery data and rebooted. I don't think you can stop Google+ from showing your Picasa albums, since it's just displaying a "web view" of the data, not a local cache copy.
I have 5+ Gb of Picasa pictures, and I don't see Google+ taking up much data. Gallery would store 1+ Gb of data in cache from my Picasa albums.
Maybe just try disabling Google Photo sync, clearing all data for Gallery, then rebooting to see if that fixes Gallery.

Yes, that should work, since I found that solution almost everywhere. Strangely it doesn't work on my Nexus 10 for some reason.
I still don't understand why the method above (disable sync, clear data) seem to work for everyone but not for me. Could that be a KitKat issue?
Oh and I tried what you said, with rebooting. Didn't work. Photos don't show up in the Gallery app only if I completely remove my Google account (which of course is not what I want to do).
My N10 is rooted, would that change anything? (I don't think so, but at this point I'm completely confused about what's going on here.)
