[Q] Wifi Problem with FroyoBread - XPERIA X8 General

Well, as I have less than 10 posts the only option I had was to create a new topic in this area.
I am facing the following problem: when I use FroyoBread V003 ROM (I could not test older versions) I get WIFI extremely slow and almost impossible to navigate. This is not the first time it occurred for me, the same happened with Floyo 0.20, it does not happen with all ROMs, in some the wifi works normally. But it is the first time that I report the problem. Someone who has faced this problem has a solution?
Thanks in advance, and sorry for my bad English.

I have the same problem with floyo 0.20 !! I use elelinux now and it works perfectly but on floyo the internet is very slow .... can someone help us please

I've already written about it in doixanh's thread. He's taken libs, also wifi libs, from racht's floyo, and those libs have issues with some types of routers, like netgear. I proposed that he took wifi libs from miniCM or Elelinux, but got no reply

using root explorer go to system/etc/wifi and open tiwian.ini and look for
Single_dual_band_solution=...
were it says = if its 0.1 or 0 change it to 1 that what i did on those 2 roms and i now get class g+ rating it about 2.4mibs 0.1 comes in at class "a" and if you change it to a 1 it bring the class to a g net rating uk standeds hope that helps

Thanks for your reply. I will try to do what you said, and edit the post with the result.
Thanks again...

Do it then because i have this problem on floyo 0.20 report back fast!

Doixanh provided us with v004 with wifi libs taken from miniCM. I don't know if he changed tiwnal.ini too, but the problem is solved.

I tried to edit the file tiwlan.ini, but had no success, the wifi continued slow, I might have done something wrong, I do not know. But hopefully the 004 version of the ROM FroyoBread corrected this problem.
Thanks for all the answers.

sounds interesting.. but i have two questions though
is it based on the new BIN with multitouch support?
does google navigation work correctly?
Yes, xian 0.5b is based on new bin with multitouch and yes, google navigator works well.
My linpacks are same from 5.22. to 5.589.
Known problems:
SMS apk FC always, you ave to use handcent.
blueex doesn't work, i use bluetooth file now.
sometimes wifi or 3g connection don't work, i don't know why.
All other is perfect. Smooth, fast, Live wp, etc.
Only, i'm searching for a launcher eclair with 5row...

that's weird because the new BIN seems to have a navigation problem as it goes backwards,,
it's in all ROMs based on the new BIN so I'm wondering how could xian rom doesn't have that issue..
Got 3.605 with Liberated 1.3.1

Yes there is a navigation problem because the compass doesn't work well but it's not a problem of rom but of BIN. Anyway, I use sygic and it doesn't work with compass... no problem with sygic

[BUILD][14.08.2010][mattc NexusLeo v1.1][Kernel: [email protected] #33]

mattc's NexusLeo v1.1
This is a brand new build. It is almost a complete opposite of my Sense build. The base for this ROM is from Google's official Nexus 2.2 Froyo FRF91. This is *stock* Android.
The kernel is michyprima's overclockable to 1190.400MHz and undervolted to 925mv. It also has the latest GIT updates. I found this combo to be the most stable while producing amazing speeds. michyprima's post can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=756513.
What's Not Working:
WIFI tethering
Bluetooth Headsets not working for calls. Streaming media is working fine.
USB Tethering
PPP
What is working:
Bluetooth Streaming Media
Wifi
EDGE/3G/HSDPA Internet
5MP Camera w/flash
Standard Definition Camcorder w/flash
All other items working on other builds, too many to list
Known Issues:
Internet can be slow. This is because of the use of RMNET and should be fixed in future builds.
There are occasional touchscreen freezes. With the new kernel I have noticed a decrease. Normal touchscreen functionality usually returns after 10 seconds or so.
Tips:
Use SetCPU to overclock. The max default is set to 998MHz.
Turn off live wallpaper for better performance and battery life.
Don't use the built-in USB Storage capabilities. While it works, it may cause corruption of your Android system files requiring a fresh install.
Use a program called "droidexplorer" which safely transfers files using adb.
I have included a Task Manager. Learn to use it religiously to improve battery life.
Other Notes:
CPU scaling is enable by default without SetCPU. There is nothing you need to do to overclock it is enabled by default.
This is a VERY basic build. Don't expect to see any Sense widgets, apps, etc. Check out a stock Nexus One and that is what you are getting.
I have included Astro File Manager as well as a Task Killer.
Installation Instructions:
Download which build you like. You can choose from a 512MB, 1GB, or 2GB storage option.
Unzip the contents to your SD card. All of the files should extract into a folder named "Android".
Use an autoloader or, in Windows Mobile, browse to the Android folder on your SD card and run CLRCAD.exe, then Haret.exe.
Let Android boot. The first boot is always the longest and larger data sizes require longer times. The 2GB can take up to 20 minutes depending on your card speed.
Enjoy Android.
Note: If you are having a looping boot issue, please replace the startup.txt with the one attached at the bottom of this post.

Changes to kernel logged by huanyu:
In this kernel, I have enabled the follows:
•Conservative CPUfreq governor
•Conservative governor is the default CPUfreq governor
•Voltage goes down to 1000 mv (zImage_1000mv) or 925mv (zImage_925mv) or 1050mv (default voltage)
•Overclocking to 1.113 GHz max.
Remember, I hold NO responsibility for anything that goes wrong. I'm simply providing the kernel, whatever happens with it is on your shoulders not mine.
If you do not like the overclocked feature, you can use SetCPU to disable it.
minor tweaking to drivers/cpufreq/cpufreq_ondemand.c
•#define DEF_FREQUENCY_DOWN_DIFFERENTIAL (30)
•#define MICRO_FREQUENCY_UP_THRESHOLD (65)
•#define MICRO_FREQUENCY_MIN_SAMPLE_RATE (9500)
minor tweaking to drivers/cpufreq/cpufreq_conservative.c

Thanks to all of the devs working on kernel. Also, thanks to Darkstone and shu8i for their great work and support on other builds. Shatterv2, ShadowFoxBiH, and BazGee for beta testing. Mom...
As always, donations are appreciated but not required.
Change Log
Change Log:
1.1:
Using michyprima's kernel #33 based on updated GIT, which adds:
Overclockable to 1190.400MHz using setCPU
Physical "END" button can now end calls
Stops battery charging when full
Added LED and Keypad light support
Made changes to solve TMOUS MMS issues
Improved battery life
Improved speed and stability, phone app crashes eliminated
No longer overclocked out of the box. You must use setCPU if you wish to overclock
thank you, its working flawless so far

[Q] stable gingerbread ROM

What is the most stable Gingerbread ROM for the Vibrant that is suitable for everyday use?
I've looked at CM7 but I saw a post that said it was an experimental ROM and full of bugs. Is that true?
Thank you
I am on CM7 build 56 and after some tweaking (GPS fix, build.prop edits), it runs great with good battery life, and I found everything I needed in the dev. forum.
Same. I'm on CM7 build 56. GPS fix + recent battery drain fix = awesome, Fusion-quality rom
BTW what those build.prop edits are ? Haven't heard of them, can anyone pls send a link ?

I didn't get either.
Have just played with different options then have turned radio off/on and that helped.
most stable asgard ----cm7 miui (in case if vibrant) nothing stable ///
Asgard by a long mile. I'd run it now if it weren't for the blurry MMS that most (all?) GB roms have.

I thought there was an official Gingerbread roll-out in mid-April for the Nordic countries. Has anyone made a ROM based on that?
Juwe's port is the best for me. Tried Revolution and Malice and all were exhibiting same problems. The Juwe 5.1 is blazing fast yet to encounter any lag what so ever no hang up bug. However it does experience occasional soft re-boot and that could be due to TW Luncher issues also I have seen where my radio for voice and data would stop but reboot fix it.
Revolutionary rom is much more stable than cm with battery life that can rival most froyo roms. its also hardware accelerated (wich means way more smooth than cm7 and is capable of playing 720p flash videos on the web ).
miui
flash the official miui rom and then miui energy 7.1 with working gps.
then edit the build prop and calibrate battery
Trigger redux with the glitch kernal.
Why isnt 800 ppl posting this?

My needs are
Good bettery life - im getting 3-4 days on average use . no 3g or wifi . jst calls and sometimes mp3.

So friends can u please suggest which ROM shuld i choose ...
I Dnt wanna flash my phone repeatedly to test the ROMS .. Always prefer to hear what others says and will try and choose myself ...
-------------------------------------------------------
Ok I Installed MIUI 2.4
I am running the lastest CM7.2 but quartx and cant fault it yet. I have run the v6 supercharger script and it seems really good. I got rid of the ADW launcher and put on GO only for looks but I think GO seems a bit slower, I ,might have to try ADW again but try different themes.
I use 3G and get about 3 days out of it but usually about 1 hr of calls in there in a day so that would drain it, But dont play many games maybe 5 mins a day if that. I find it really good but as I upgraded to 2.3.6 I am stuck with a few ROMS and this is the best so far.
Installed MiUI 2.4...
thanks Kelly ...
I jst installed MIUI 2.4 ....
a data wipe and complete reinstall of MIUI and reboot took a total time of 5 Min..
Awesome ...
Ya Its Looks is Simply Superb and im tweaking things ...
Bt I Miss a APP Drawer in it by default . first thought its a bug...
They all say to use a Alternative launcher if App Drawer is need...
Yea you can try another launcher from the market. Miui is nice as it gives that iPhone look. Try v6 supercharger to. Big difference!!!

CM10 Phone contacts load slowly sometimes

Hi guys,
I have been join this forum for a month. You guys are amazing, I got all my answers from yours.
As my topic name, My defy plus is running with Cm10 Quarx build Nov-02. Sometimes it take over 7s for launching and loading the contact list after I hit the phone icon. I tried with many builds but this problem still exist. Actually, as I noticed, it doesn't happen if my defy plus run on Gb room.
