Hy guys, sry if this was allready discussed but i'm having a serious problem: i've flashed my moms hd2 to android some months ago and after some time it began to have problems meaning the screen stoped responding...i've tried several new flashes and nothing, just after the hole process is done the screen still wont do anything...please sugestions...fix it sehow, reflash wm 6.5?!!!
You say after some months the screen stop responding as in no respond at all to touch and any hard buttons? Then how can you flash anything when touch screen/hard buttons unresponsive?
For me it is the hardware problem. Flashing won't help...
if your screen completely stopped working the digitizer is broken and you'll either have to get another hd2 or if you're in your warranty period send it back in and have it replaced. my first hd2 had the same problem but luckily i was in my warranty period so i sent it back it (cost me $10 shipping for the new one) and they sent me another.
oh and dont forget to take hspl off your phone before sending it in. its not that hard of a process just make sure you use a 2gb or less sd card when you have to reflash your stock rom on there or else it would not work
How do i take of hardspl?
go to the htc site and get a stock rom, unzip the file with 7zip, find the .nbh file rename to LEOIMG.bh put it on a formatted micro sd card smaller than 8gig bootphone to bootloader and let it do its thing
oops my bad thanks amidniteload

Hi,
This process will restore your phone to its original condition.
There will be NO trace of any modding.
You can then send it to be fixed under warranty.
the warranty has expired i was interested in trading it for smthg else...so i was interested in it working
solved it using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803242&highlight=screen+freeze and reflash android....lets see how it evolves now...thanks all for the quick replies
Nope...it worked for a day( ))

i didnt get clearly, is your phone screen is off? of show the desk but you touch the screen there is no response? from which part? which ROM are you using ?
first , you dont have to worry too much cause on that site, you have sloved your problem but not more than one day. so the problem is not about you hardware.
why not change a new ROM?
FYI. do not use the OFF button(on the right, first one) too much, cause HD2’s screen cable is under the off button.
try to download soft button of widget instead of the hard one.
you may look at my phone screen. on the right at the bottom. (LOCHMYDRO sth..)

The problem is obviously software problem...I'm using coredroid the latest release from their site...I'll try reflashing to wm but how large does the sd card have to be....i have one bigger than 2 gb and one of just a few mb...is there a minimum requiered?

i have the same 1% flash failed problem. here's what i did.
1. prepare an SD card with the RUU_3.16.52 extracted using XDArit.exe (use XDArit.exe to transfer the ROM in c:\program files\RUU\english\NK.nbf to the SD) you need to have a USB SD Card Reader in order to do this. buy one if you have to.
2. prepare a second SD card with the repair files stored in the root directory (RSUpgrade.sa.CAB 4,305,434bytes, and the 2577 folder) just like whoever suggested, but replace the RSUpgrade.sa.CAB on the root of SD with the one you extracted in c:\program files\Radio Stack Upgrade Utility\RSUpgrade.sa.CAB (4,328,441bytes) by running RSU_3.23.01.exe (which had unfortunately caused the failure.)
2. insert the SD card with the RUU_3.16.52. press the power button while performing a soft reset. you should enter the wallaby loader screen. i have version 5.15. press action to flash the ROM to your xda.
3. cold boot your xda. you should see the blud Qtek screen. in the lower-right-hand corner you should see
G
R
3.16.52
4. you may be asked to calibrate your screen by tipping the four corners.
5. press the volume button. insert the second SD card (containg the repair files and the 4,328,441bytes SUpgrade.sa.CAB (NOT the 4,305,434bytes one, because it will cause freezing at 1%!) wait patiently until the upgrade finishes. you may put the xda back to the cradle for power as long as it doesn't reset itself.
if anything goes wrong, start from step 2 again.
NOTE: i may have skipped some steps in the above. but that's the best i could remember. good luck.
if you haven't upgraded the Qtek ROM and the Radio Stack, learn the risk before attempting!!!

Argh,
I am really feeling down because of this...
Have my Xperia for 10 days now, treated it really well and now there is a small crack where the stylus is held in the case.

This f*cking sucks, I am pissed off. Be sure to check your Xperia's guys, you might have the same problem!
Sucky thing is, the T-Mobile receipt says that you can return the item within 8 days in the original packing when it's broken. And of course I am 2 (tomorrow 3) days over the limit...
There was another guy from NL who figured it out that after 3 days he had a crack and he took the phone back.
Now I have to do the same, but I have a slight problem. I already flashed my phone to a UK ROM and I am a little concerned that they might ***** about the ROM being flashed. Can someone upload the Dutch T-Mobile ROM for me so I can put it back onto the phone?
Anyone else having this same problem?

Rename the image file to nbh and then flash the phone
Please let every one knows if it works!!
By the way thanks for sharing the picture.
I'm checking my phone right now
I renamed the file to 'APP_SW_X1i_TMO_NL_1213-2293_CDF1216-0475_KOV_R1AA020.nbh'
Started the flash procedure, stopped at 11%, then I got an update error. Retried once, still the same... So it doesn't work!
Any thoughts?

Working on vista or XP?
Otherwise use this option
*** Flash X1 without PC - Micro SD Method ***
This is useful if you load a bad image and cannot make an activesync connection for RUU flashing method.
0. Make sure x1 is hard-spl first
1. Make sure your micro-sd is formatted w/ fat-32
2. rename the image file (normally "ruu_signed.nbh") to Kovsimg.nbh, copy that to the micro-sd, and put that it your X1
3. Bring x1 to boot-loader mode by turning off the x1 completely. Hold the "volume down" button on the right, and hold the power on button until you see the tri-color screen.
4. Then follow the on-screen instruction
I use XP, will check out your suggestion. Already read that there are problems with HardSPL and Vista. Thanks!
I bought my HERO just a few days ago.
Once,the system halted and I took the battery out of the phone.
After that,when I turn on the phone,it show the first picture in the attachments

}
and then only when I press the DIAL button ,the phone responses,and it shows the second picture in the attachments
I have checked that the buttons of the phone are all OK.
And I have sent it to someone to mend it,he said that the phone can not be connected to the computer,but he succeeded in flashing it with the miniSD memory card. BUT the phone still has the same problem.What's more ,the H-BOOT has been flashed by him from 1.76.005 to 1.76.007. But the problem still
exist....
Can anybody help me?...
And I'm from China,my English is not very good...
This might help...

EDIT: DON'T UPDATE TO 2.1 AGAIN SINCE IT WILL HANG ONE MORE TIME. WAIT FOR HTC TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE!!!!!!
EDIT 2: BACK UPP ALL YOUR DATA FROM YOUR MEMORY CARD FIRST!!!
EDIT 3: How did I find this out? I talked to a very helpful HTC suport rep (yes they do actually exist in Sweden). He helped me do these steps and so I thought I should share this.
Ok so you got a message that 2.1 was available for your Hero - FINELY! and you installed it using OTA. And then you got a triangle with a ! in it and you rebooted and all it says is "HERO".
This is how to solve it!
Take out your memory card. FORMAT TO <span style="font-weight:bold;">FAT32</span>!!!
Download the RUU 2.73.405.5 from HTC support homepage
Run the installation.
When it fails to find your phone <span style="font-weight:bold;">DON'T EXIT!!!</span>
If you are using Windows 7 go in to c:\Users\<span style="font-style:italic;">yourusername</span>\AppData\Local\Temp
Search for ROM.zip
Move to desktop
Rename to HEROIMG.zip
Transfer to your newly formated memory card now with FAT32 file system
Put memory card into phone
Start phone holding volume down pressed.
It will now check zip fil and then ask if you want to install.
homekey for YES
After installing you have 1.5 again and can safely upgrade to 2.1 OTA

Hello!
I've got a Defy with a faulty proximity sensor - the "trick" with loosening the screw does not help, I've also dissasembled the Defy several times, to see, if there are any damages - nothing.
So, the problem is that the Defy is hard to use in this state (I would like to have a CM9 oder CM7 Rom) - so is there any possibility to turn off the proximity sensor on CM9 or CM7 Roms, like you can do it on Miui oder Stock?

Finally I found a solution for this problem...
I did it like described in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8641376&postcount=11
-Copy "sensors.jordan.so" to your pc, it can be found in "/system/lib/hw" either on the device or in an update.zip.
- Open it with a hex-editor
- Search for "/dev/isl29030.als.ISL29030P"
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
- rename it to "/dev/isl29031.als.ISL29030P" (or whatever you like ;-) )
- push the file back to your phone
Now the screen should stay awake while making a call.
It also works with: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tuba.tools&feature=search_result so you don't need a pc and you don't need to push the files around.

Thank you very, very much for this solution!
I tried everything you can imagine to solve this and nothing but your solution solved!
Thank you! :good:
Great solution idea - but I actually cannot replace the file while the system is running. Have not tried via adb, yet.
ROM: CM10 Quarx2k/Defy+++ Jelly Bean Cannon 6.2.1 (Android 4.1.2)
Defy proximity prob
did it like u said, sometimes it works,some times not.
then changed the "ISL29030P"(only) in whole file. it lasted some more time.
but at end same prob is there
After doing the changes, did you update your rom?

If you are using any CM Rom that gets updates (mostly Nightlys) then the "fix" must be applied after every update.
you are a No.1, good !!!

same problem here but solved it:
i actually didn't find that editing helpful.
i solved the problem by flashing the file attached while being on latest cm7.2. 0 nightly.
now my phone never goes off while dialing. a bit annoying when touching the " hold" button but that can be disabled
hope this helps!

Boot into the bootloader (hold power+volume down) then flash a stock WinMo ROM (make sure it's for your particular device i.e. TMOUS/EU). From here, you can do whatever you like really, it's probably best to start off with SD Android, trying out each different type of ROM (e.g. MIUI, CM9, Sense, AOSP etc.) and then move to NAND Android once you've made a selection. Note that NAND is much faster than SD, so if you feel sluggishness it might not be there on NAND.
