My Nook Color is currently at 1.0, running cm7 overclocked at 1300. Is there any reason to update to 1.2? I dont use my NC as a reader just a tablet. Just wondering if it would benefit me at all or just stick with 1.0.
Thanks,
Dave
If you barely use the stock OS, I would just stay on CM7.
The major changes was the addition of the BN app store and Froyo.

Wow. That's a pretty intense UI! lol
Was looking thru the changelog and noticed tha he used the clemsyn-blades kernel. There have been reports that kernel hinders (or borks) android from reporting the current status of the batteries. I believe the later verison of the C-B OC kernel resolved that. The Netformer kernel (based on 3.1) shows the widgets just fine.
I'm betting that's your issue. I'm running the PCB Blue theme on the Prime 1.4 ROM with Netformer 1.5 OC kernel (up to 1.6 and very smooth FWIW).
HTH
Flash the latest clemsyn kernel.
hey thanks guys, yup i followed your advice and sure enough now i get a charge showing for my dock as well.....

Just wondering if this image exist? I have RC1 install on SD, but I can't access market, youtube, etc... I can't add RC3.zip to boot partition as it exceeds the size available. Would be nice if an image with the modified RC3 existed.
You probally won't be able to get anyone to do it as it is a waste of time as honeycomb is VERY buggy.

Please...pretty please
Okay it might be buggy but maybe it will make up for the fact that I missed out on the HP touchpad sale.
I do like CM7 but honeycomb seems so much cooler

You are missing the point. Source code is not available for Honeycomb so any attempts to put it on the NC are riddled with bugs. If you really have a bug up your a** about having a tablet O/S on your Nook wait for Ice Cream Sandwich to be released and it's source code.
Better off running CM7 with a honeycomb theme.
Which is what i did. Running cm7.1 with a honeycomb theme.

How do you guys do that? I meant running CM7 with HC theme.
The problem with HC for the book is that we don't have source, so things like video are hacked software renders. It's super slow, and prone to crash.

I'm looking for an alternate rom to cm7. Good battery life is a must, followed by overall performance and speed. There are a few to choose from now, looking for peoples opinions and experiences.

Alien #4 is the best. Very stable. And good battery life. It doesn't have OC kernel, EXT4 etc but its stability is unbeatable.
I've experienced widget missing, rebooting, etc issues in other ROMs, but not Alien.

I'm running the current cm7 stable build, tried weekly 2 but had issues with it so switched back. Haven't tried the nightlies yet. Ive have heard aura is good.

Aura is good. My personal fav is The DarkSide by Nottach. It's got some personal tweaks of his and that special black-oriented theme that drive it home for me. Right now, I'm fiddling around with that new 1.4GHz kernel just because I'm that kinda guy, and it requires CM7 so I have the FP reader version on right now (nightlies don't do it for me).
how about a ROM with webtop running?

Has Alien polish language?
Go with 2.2.2 froyo if u really need battery life
Problem with Google apps after installing CM7
We all know that CM7 is the best. I installed it exactly as described, but after I install the package with the Google apps, none of the apps actually show up on my phone.
Any ideas?

Since the DX is pretty old now are there any dev's still making new ROMS for this device? Also what are you currently running ROM/Kernel wise?
Developers are very active with the Droid X.
On mine, I am running MIUI v4.

Its the closest you can get to a pure Google OS such as the galaxy nexus.
i'm running the APEX rom...i'm pretty sure my version is outdated because i haven't paid much attention to my phone since moving into the tablet world.

Take a peek at Gummy 1.2.0 ICS rom. You will not be disapointed. I would use the release from goo manager. You can get it on another forum as well.

Stock ROM. It has its issues, but I've heard of worse.

I've tried most of the ICS ROMs for the Droid X. I really like them, but my battery life isn't as good as stock with them. Of course the 2 year old battery is about done for anyways. I'm stock .605 rooted right now. It's my fall back, safe ROM.
Running cm9 with the cm9 kernel works like a charm!

I had tried a couple then loaded Vortex Reloaded. Battery life is really good and everything I need works. It's given new life to my old phone.

Once the source code is released, developers will probably start work on porting it.
My guess is it shouldn't be incredibly difficult for them, since it's just an incremental update.

i'm using wizard's miui DefX 2012.5.12 and it's really all i need on the droid x. insane battery life. smooth. call/sms and data blocking built-in. bootmenu. stable as none other. flashed beats audio and PDroid zip for extra privacy. i remember getting 3 and half days off this rom on one charge, stock battery, and with medium use. crazy.
So can these be loaded from rooted .621? Or am I stuck now that I took the OTA (even though I kept root)?

Just wondering, how does the Nook work as an Android 4.1 or (preferably) 4.2 tablet? Good? Bad? I saw the CM10.1 bugs and stuff, just want a quick answer. If anyone can link me to a thread, I did search but didn't find anything really helpful. Thanks.
It is definitely not going to win any speed records, but it performs well.

leapinlar, may I ask quick question?
I have NC with CM7 which mostly is used by my son to play games and watch video.
I tried CM10 about half a year ago and it was slow...
Is it better now? Does it make sense in my situation to switch at all?
Thanks!

Yes, it is faster than it used to be. But CM7.2 is still fine for games and videos.
