[Q] Revert back to WM6.5 (No USB) - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi guys, I've been on HD2 Android (NAND) for quite a while now and due to not flashing roms for about 5months now I seem to have forgotten some stuff.
I'm planning on upgrading to the SGSII once its launched in Singapore (Prob in the next 3 weeks) and I need to get my HD2 back to Stock.
The issue is my USB port is totally buggered! I can't even charge the phone through it and have been using external chargers for my batteries.
I have Magldr 1.13 installed and CWM. If I remember right there is a way to revert back to WM6.5 and I believe without a working USB port that's the last thing I'll be able to flash it to.
Please do advise me with how I can get it done so I can trade in my trusty HD2 that has served me well but needs to be replaced.
Thank you!

flash it via sd card to get it back to stock, you need the nbh of the stock rom for your device
should be a guide to do it somewhere on here

As mentioned above, you can revert to stock ROM by flashing from your sd card :

To Remove HardSPL from your Device or Flash back a Stock Rom and Stock SPL for Warranty Purposes
You can remove the HSPL by flashing an original SPL from microSD card OR by running the HSPL4 application (You need select 2.08.0000 or 3.03.0000 in the choose screen).
* You can also use the microSD Card method to flash back your Stock Rom and Stock SPL that you originally had on your phone*
- Download a shipped Rom from *HERE*
- Rename the extension to .zip
- open it with winzip and extract the RUU_signed.nbh file to a folder
- Rename it to LEOIMG.nbh and copy it to the root of a microSD card thats been formatted to FAT32
- Insert your storage card into your phone
- Enter Bootloader and follow onscreen instructions to flash

I believe you remember how to enter bootloader (Vol. down + power on while the phone is off).

i use cable flashed RUU_Leo_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.66.707.1_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship.exe today(there are LEOIMG of the rom in TF CARD aswell)
then my HSPL hd2 screen shows a big "!" only can assess to the 3colour screen cant flash any roms. use card flash screem shows "NOT ALLOW 0028002"
PLEASE help me to fix it! thanks
what spl
so what spl does it show when at the tricolor boot screen? if it is 1.42.000 you should try flashing the hspl again. if you have hspl then try and flash from the boot screen using the custom ruu. if all else fails try flashing the stock rom from the region your phone came from.
This happened to me. This is how I fixed it.

This happened to me the other day. the error you see means you used the wrong shipped ROM to flash your device... I was stuck with an HD2 that would'nt boot and showed the big "!" as well. since I could still access the bootloader, all i did was the following:
1.find right shipped ROM,
2.extracted ruu_signed.nbh
3.reformat microsd card to fat32
4.copy .nbh file to storage card root
5.rename .nbh file to LEOIMG.nbh
6.hopefully you have more than 50% of your battery left so you can flash via microsd method (did not try flashing via cable again, but it could work as well)
7.I'm sure you know that to flash using microsd method means you need to hold VOL Down key while Pressing Power.
8.wait for update to complete (if its the right Shipped version it will flash till updated)
9.reboot and dance!
optional steps:
10.Hard Reset Shipped ROM
11.Run HSPL again
12.Flash till you "almost" brick it then repeat from step 1... =)
Happy Flashing!

Remember hard reset after flashing ROM

the official rom contains spl, radio, os, splash screen. it will overwrite hspl if u flash thru microSD. reflash HSPL.
i have the rom 1.66.415.4 (76641) WWE, and i want to downgrade it to 1.43 to have the SPL 1.42 to be able to upgrade to cooked roms. can i have the link cz i downloaded 2 roms from the shared folder and when i updgrade it gives me "invalid vendor id".
Hello monx
i will remove HSPL and start with the Official HTC ROM to send back the HD2
do to warranty.
I heard that two ways
1. flash official ROM with sd card
or
2. flash official ROM with goldcard

you still have HSPL on the phone. I think you have to stop holding the down button as soon as it comes up to boot from the card but i'm not sure as i nearly bricked my phone the one time i tried to flash my phone using the sd card

is the error only visible on the bootloader screen or also in the roms you're running?
the exclamation mark you are talking about in an earlier post is most probably because you have a branded phone and you are trying to install a stock rom. this doesn't work with hspl when flashing from SD card because when flashing from sd you try to remove hspl with a rom which isn't compatible with your phone. because the rom is not compatible the upgrade or downgrade cannot complete without a goldcard.
do you still have the garbled display once you have installed a different rom via hspl/sspl, and after that try to reboot into bootloader?
Hello htc12345
the error is visible on the bootloader and in windows
without HSPL i geht the triangle to the on picture 3
yes the phone is an branded T-Mobile Germany Phone
so i think i have to wait for an official Provider ROM

HTC HD2 stuck on bootloader screen

Sorry for the double post but my other one is on page 94 of a different thread and probally wont get seen and i am now getting desperate, anyway
I have just followed the procedure as I was going to install a different ROM from ★ Miri & DINIK "Anastasia" ROM to replace my installed ROM from ENERGY
Flashing Via MicroSD Card
NOTE (PLEASE READ): If you flash a Stock Rom via microSD Card then it will overwrite your HardSPL with a stock SPL included in the nbh file. This does not apply to custom roms as they do not include an SPL. BE CAREFUL!!
1. Make sure your microSD is Formatted to fat32 (you dont have to delete all files but it is safer if you do)
2. Download your prefered Rom from the LEO Rom Develpoment Page and unzip/unrar it to your PC
3. Goto the Roms Folder and rename the .nbh file to LEOIMG.nbh
4. Copy the LEOIMG.nbh file to the root of your MicroSD Card
5. Plug the MicroSD Card into the phone
6. Reset the device while pressing the volume down button to enter the BootLoader screen, you will first see a tri-color screen with the phone and SPL Information at the top
7. Follow the On Screen instructions to start the update
8. After flash has completed, press the reset button with the stylus to reset the device.
First I did a task 29 and now I am now stuck in the bootloader screen with its tri colour screen with USB in the white part,if I have the cable connected or Serial if the cable is removed.
I have tried a few times but it still stays on the boot screen.I am running windows 7 32 bit on my laptop and have tried all 3 different USB ports with the same result.
How do I get the phone back working?
Thanks
Your Phone is stuck in the bootscreen because you have removed the operating system with the task29. so this is normal.
make sure you have transferred the leoimg.nbh to the storage card and disconnect the phone from the cable. reboot the phone and flashing should start automatically. if it does not
now connect your phone to the computer and you will see the screen change from serial to usb
just follow the procedure as described in on the forum to flash from a computer. you do not need to be connected to activesync to do this as the phone is already in bootloader mode. just start the flashing program as described.
Thanks for that,I did realise thats the reason its stuck in the bootloader.I have connected the phone back to the computer a few times and waited untill the USB came onto the screen but the divice does not show up in "My Computer" and when I try to restore the ROM I get a 260 connection error.
I think I have just sorted the problem, not sure the reason but it was failing on a 16GB fat32 card. I have just borrowed a 2GB card from a friend put exactly the same image on and it is now updating the ROM.
Thats strange how the card has made that much of a difference, but thanks anyway.
I'll let you know how the update goes in a few minutes when it completes.
Thanks
many people have said the same thing. 16 doesn't work, 8 sometimes works, 2 usually works.
Up and running great now,,Looks like i'll have to invest in a small 2GB card as a back up,
Thanks again
Stuck also in bootloader

sorry, don't know what that means and i can't go hunting right now. it "sounds" like what happens when you flash a non tmous rom to a tmous, (unlike flashing the wrong radio, it doesn't brick the tmous, it just won't boot)

Problem resolved... not sure what caused it but I am a happy man now. This is what I did if this helps with people who might have the same problem.
1. Formated the SD card FAT32.
2. Copy and rename nbh file to LEOIMG.nbh to SD card.
3. Reset the phone while holding the down button. It jumps to bootloader.
4. Hook it with PC, USB is shown on the phone.
5. Download and extract SSPL_RUU.exe and RUU_signed.nbh from Dutty Cream la de Cream ROM into the same folder.
6. Run SSPL_RUU and it came up and running again.
Thanks for your help though, made me feel hopeful because I was getting ready to dump the phone and run over it with my car
no worries, just for info, step two was not needed, it would have tried to flash leoimg at step three if you hadn't been using the stock gig sd card (the 16gb cards don't work, which is why the phone ignored it.)

Flashing back to tmobile stock

Hey guys, Im not new to this flashing thing so Im ata complete loss as to what Im doing wrong.
Im running magldr v1.13 w/ CWM and a MyTouch 4G installed. I need to go back to Tmo WM6.5 so I can return the phone under warranty. I have read the guides over and over and I have no idea what Im doing wrong.
I have tried 3 separate computers XP, Vista, and Win7 and 2 cables, however when on the bootloader screen I never get the "USB" at the bottom when plugged in. I can select USB flasher and it connects to the computer, same with USB MassStg.
I really appreciate any advise here....
just flash via sd card.

Can someone point me to where I can find the stock rom for my USA T-mobile HD2? (link maybe??) I have been unable to find where to download it.
I also tried going to HTC.com and I couldn't find it there either.
What happened was that I had the Android 2.2 nand on it and now the touch screen has stopped working. The physical buttons work fine. I tried to reinstall android but it failed and now it won't boot into android. I would like to bring it back to factory Windows Mobile and if the touch screen still does not respond, then see if I can take it back to T-mobile.

I can get the phone into the Rainbow Bootloader however then it won't connect to my computer.
Im pretty sure the phone originally had Android 2.2 however that's all messed up and gone.
Is there a way to completely wipe and then reinstall Android or even the Original WM 6.5?
Im stuck here guys. The phone is a USA T-Mobile Leo.

no your phoine is not bricked, if it was bricked it wouldnt even turn on

Probably yes. Sorry, then.
Either way, he can still download the official rom .exe file and uncompress it with winzip or winrar. After that, he should find the .nbh file and rename it to "leoimg.nbh" and put it in the sd root.
Hi there,
Yes i have downloaded the Official ROM from T-Mobile.com and entered my IMEI, so i suspect its the correct one.
Tried updating from the Computer and it got to 5% and then said Update Failed.
I also tried doing it from the SD Card the way you guys said to, it worked once, it got to about 3% and said something about Invalid Radio.
I'm guessing this should have worked, however it didn't
Any idea why??
Cheers for your help Guys
PS: When i load into BootLoader mode it does come with with Serial and then USB.
However it also now since the update failed comes up with 'Upgrade ROM Code Error, Please Try Again "
I Get Error Code 284 on the update utility
Cheers

The current T-Mobile radio version is 2.15.50.14. If you downloaded the update ROM from T-Mobile thin this radio version is included with it.
When in bootloader what SPL or HSPL do you have? If it is not SPL 3.03.0000 OR SPL 3.03 HSPL then thos is your problem. The current T-Mobilr ROM is a 3.14 ROM and all 3.14 ROMs require one of these SPL versions to flash. You can change it after you flash.
I also recomend you run a task 29 on hour HD2 and then reflash the 3.14.T-Mobile ROM. You can do this via SD card as well. You can even flash MAGLDR ia SD card.

ATM My SPL is 2.9
I think it may be corrupt, i took my phone into a phone repair shop and they had no idea how to fix it either.
So does anybody have some detailed instructions on how to do this, id love to get it going!
Cheers
It has to be the radio. If I'm not mistaken you flash the radio just like a ROM.
Here a thread with alot of Radios. Look for the one that says 2.15.50.14 Radio or something similar theres instructions in the thread.

sounds like nand coruption or a dodgy cable...
You'll need to flash original Rom from SD Card
Format your SD Card under windows down to FAT32 original allocation size.
extract the contents of the installer that you've downloaded from TMobile
copy RUU_signed.nbh and then rename it to leoimg.nbh
now im pretty sure you hold either the Up volume + Power until you get to a grey screen and follow prompts.
OR
up volume + down volume + Power
You do those combo's as you turn on the phone and hold untill the applicable screen comes up.

It is neither of those you give. You hold the volume down button down while powering on to get to bootloader, the grey screen is automatic when bootloader detects the leoimg.nbh file on the SD card. Also you just have to press the power button down like you would to normally turn the phone on, it is the volume down button you have to keep pressed down until you see bootloader. If you hold both the volume up and down buttons down while powering on it will go to the hard reset function.

Ok are you sure you have SPL 2.09 on your HD2 cause it should be one of these?
SPL 2.07.0000
SPL 2.08.0000
SPL 2.10.0000
SPL 3.03.0000
If you have that SPL you might have to flash a older ROM to get another SPL version that will let you flash HSPL as SPL 2.09 will not and I have not heaerd of that SPL so it must have been like a test SPL or something.
Go to "Leo 1.5 T-MOBILE Test & Stock ROMS"and start at the 2,07 ROM, download it and try to flash it via USB and SD card. If no joy, move to 2.09 ROM, if now joy with it move to 2.10.0 ROM and so on and so on until you get one to flash. try both flash methods with both.
Do not, I repeat do not flash or even download for that matter the 2.01 ROM marked not for TMOUS as it will brick/KILL your your HD2!
