Whites on Omnia7 - Omnia 7 General

People who have the omnia 7 can do a test with her to see if mine is defective or something? In the glow when you change from automatic to manual not, notice a big difference if they have the white background? And when at maximum brightness teem (manual) to change between the home and the other main scree apps from the white background does not get darker? And on a white background apps tb not notice the difference in whites (are grayed out)?
I think this strange..

It's not a fault mate - it's some kind of power saving feature that's built into the display. It's annoying to be honest as i too would like to use the White theme but when it dulls it to the grey it just looks horrid.
This is the only real negative thing i have to say about the Omnia 7 - i just wish Samsung had left it upto us to adjust this ourselves.

Color Scheme (White --> Black Background) Question

I wanna save energy, so, how do I turn the white background into a black one, and foreground vice versa?
Could someone please help me I'd be very grateful
Dan
There was a black theme here somewhere, look for a thread on WM 5 theme creating.
Note that this changes absolutely nothing battery vise (though it is easy on the eyes and matches my Jamin case color).
The colors LCD displays make no difference in terms of power consumption (there is a blog on this by some MS guy but I really don't remember the link).
If you want to save battery reduce your back-light intensity (Start->Settings->System->Backlight) as this is one of the major battery eaters on the device.

Thx found it here.
K. Now there wouldn't be a way to turn this down with any more steps than in the built-in-system, coz I can only turn this down one notch before blackness and then it's still pretty bright. Thanx.

Screen burn-in

Just realised when I looked closely at the white background of the email hub, the white icons on the main menu tiles have burnt faded-yellow outlines into the screen, most likely because I had the screen setting set as "always on".
Can I fix this by placing the phone on a plain black screen for a good while? Or even switching it off?
Cheers
I didnt think the omnia 7 had a always on setting? I had a screen burn problem too: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973337
Thanks for the link to your thread comera. Your screen burn-in was crazy big! Mine is just a few white bits from the main screen icons. They are only visible on a completely white screen and since I use the dark theme it doesn't really matter. They are very, very slight anyway.
The screen off "never" option is a registry edit. It has proved useful on occasion but I made a mistake one night and forgot to switch off the option and also the screen. Ah well.
If anyone wants to enable the option then here is the code but please be careful with it.
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Lock] "DisableNever"=dword:0

[Q] How to set black background

Hi, just simple question. How can I setup black background for all ROM apks that doesnt have their own background?
I tried Omega 5.0, Wanam 1.2, prerooted MF2 ROM and all of these have very dark grey colour backgroung in settings, contacts, messaging etc. Before MEA (e.g. on ME2 I used quite long) there was 100% black background (with well known smearing efect which doesnt bother me so much). So, sammy changed the background from black to dark grey for eliminating smearing efect and to shut our mouth up THX for advice I think many of us love our AMOLED display with true blacks and hate samsung for these cheap tricks!
Here are screenshot, if you cant see the difference, just use the pipette (colour picker) in your favourite photo editing program and observe what colour it truly is...

[Q] changing the color of the phone, contacts, and messaging screens

I just recently got my Note 3 last week through At&t and I'm highly satisfied. I have a question that I have not found the answer to yet. The phone, contacts, and message screens are predominantly white with black font. I kind of have a hard time with this due to my bad eyes. I can see better with a black background with white font. Is there a way to change these screens to black? I have watched some YouTube videos and see people with black backgrounds And White font in these screens. Help please.

i have a n9005 branded voda phone.
its overall colour re dailer, messages ,contacts is standard a darkish blue /black with white letters.
so it seems it a carrier thing .?( your colour white with black font or did you by accident enable a wrong settings ?)
one thing, have you tried to go.....settings /device/accessibility then scroll down to negative colours (reverse the colour of screen )
if i tick it my dark screen will be reversed to white etc..etc untick and i have darkscreen with white lettering
there is also other very good settings on that page eg..font size ...short cut
see screenshot ..have you tried this ?
good luck .

Dispay has shadows, burn in, translucent, opacity or bleedthru.

Greetings all,
I have a S7, and when I have a open white area, lets just go with messages, When I open up the message (text, stock) and compose a new message, I get the white screen however in the background I can see the home screen icon's very faint, with colors. I did a screen shot and when on the phone you can see the icon's, however when I move the screen shot to the PC I dont see any of the icon's, I was hoping to post the pic, but the pic is perfect. I dont know how to explain this, but it weird. I have done two factory wipe's, this is stock, I have not modified this phone. The carrier, (If needed) is T-Mobile. Any and all information will be greatly appreciated.
Ciao~

If you take a screenshot and it does not display the same as what you are seeing it means it is NOT software related unfortunately this is screen burn
thats what I figured, but its very bad, I have never had any of Samsung Phones every do this. If the display is burned, why would the icon's have color? I see only the background icons, when the screen is white. If it was burned should I see it on all the screens?

The screen burn burns in the colors a possible way to test this is change your background icons from what they were previously and see if the colours have changed on the screen where you can see the burn in..
Alternatively Get a screen test app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ua.dp.ustav.screentest should let you put solid colors on the screen) and set it for all white (there shouldn't be any other color showing) then for all black (there shouldn't be anything but black or a uniform very dark gray). If either one shows any sort of picture "ghost", the screen has burn-in.
Apparently it helps slightly if you set the screen mode to cinema. (Settings>Display>Screen Mode>Cinema)
Hope this helps
