Part of my USB cord where it connects to the NC has chipped off, and I'd like to get a replacement, but I need my serial number. I just recently replaced the stock OS on eMMC, so the serial number no longer appears in Settings. Is there anywhere else I can find it?
ETA: There's a 13-digit number starting with 9781 on my receipt from Staples. Would that be it?
The number on the receipt was not the SN, but I dug out the box and it had a SN sticker on it. The B&N support rep I got was not the sharpest and said that there was some computer error with my warranty and he would have to forward the issue blah blah blah, but I should have a new cable in about a week.

It should also be under the microSD card flap.

I knew it had to be on the device somewhere!

On the back of our Nexus 7s we have a sticker residing at the bottom. This sticker contains the serial number and I hate it. Is it ok to remove. I know I'll be trolled for posting this but here's my point; Wont Asus need that serial number if I sent it in under warranty? I still have it on the box after all.
Thanks,
A sceptical guy

IRC, the serial number is stored in the firmware, when you connect to the device via ADB it displays a Serial number, so if Asus needed it they can find it. Just remove the sticker and put it in your box, if you don't wanna chuck it, if you're not too OCD:silly:

Ofcource. xD I forgot about that, uh, yeah I put it in my box :L :good: Thank you.
It's also printed inside the unit, under the back cover.
So my tablet has recently contracted a backlight bleed, and I'm RMAing the thing to Asus. They have asked for the serial number be clearly printed somewhere, and if it is not also on the device the warranty is void.
I'm confused - there was never a sticker on the device at all, nor is there anything on the box. The only way to find it out on the device is to go into Settings --> About --> Status, but I'm not sure this is correct. Could anyone post the first few characters of their serial, and also inform me if I must have mistakenly peeled off a sticker or something?
Thanks!
I believe you are correct in thinking that is the serial number they are asking for. I found this page which verifies it:
https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/3333000?hl=en
The number should have also been on the box somewhere but may have been called the CSSN. This number should nonetheless by the same as the serial number displayed in the About Tablet section.
I purchased 3 g2 d802 from ebay (HK top rated seller)
The phones came rooted.
When i check for system updates i geg the message "your phone is not registered yet" on 2/3 phones. 3rd one says "no update available".
When i check imei at lg site its not recognized.
Seller says phones are ok and it is probably a mistake.
Im afraid if the phones are stolen lg will block them, can they do it? I know google can....
Maybe the phones were indeed stolen and the seller changed the IMEI to a random one because the original IMEI was blocked. You can remove the back housing and check if the IMEI that is written on the sticker inside the housing is the same as the one reported by the device when you enter *#06#.

Imei number is the same at the sticker on the back and the *#06# and the settings.
The question is - in case it is stolen - can my phone be blocked in the future??

Yes.
I broke my LG G2 this morning. I had lost my cover and was going to get a new one but this happened. It is out of warranty and I ordered it on Amazon.de in 2013. The touchscreen won't work.
1. How do I find the serial number without the box and without using the phone? I don't know where the serial number is (I threw away the box and it's not on the back).
2. How do I back up what is on it without giving permission in the phone? I don't want to lose what's on the phone but I don't want to give the phone while private stuff is on it.
I'm trying to connect using LG PC Suite but it won't conne1ct, says "mobile device not found". I heard the connecting sound on my computer when I plugged it in. I think I need to give permission in the phone but I can't do that since the touchscreen isn't working now.

Get yourself an otg cable and a usb mouse.
Saved my life many times before I fixed my screen.
Order the LCD frame assembly from Amazon seller 8090team (just fixed mine this week) and fix it yourself.
There are plenty of guides online and YouTube.
Take your time prepare everything you need tools etc. and go slow.
You'll be fine

I ordered an OTG cable this morning, but I am trying to choose which LCD replacement to get, since your post made me decide to fix it myself.
I am from Ireland by the way and I usually use Amazon.co.uk. Which product are you talking about? I didn't find any from that seller for the D802 which is my model. I'm trying to find one with good reviews and none that say their touch screen doesn't work properly or things like that.
Have heard good things about these guys

I was buying a secondhand oneplus 6T but the imei on the back of the device was different from the imei in the settings. The dude has also lost the box so also can't match the imei from the box. Does this mean if the device is refurbished or back changed? Also I have seen some pictures on internet of 6T and there is no imei on back of device but the device I was buying had one, how is this possible?
Either he changed with a tool, or the mainboard was changed.
Normally you pull the silver sticker of your device and place it somewhere on your Box, but some people does not it.
Also I dont know if in case of a replacement Mainboard the new IMEI is the same as your old one or if there is a new IMEI on the replacement Board.

Is it possible you have a back case replacement? They would not match.
