Hey everyone, just got my atrix yesterday and i love it.
To make things short, i followed the guide here to root and enable sideloading with gingerbreak and had no problem at all, i got root permissions and io thought i'd have sideloading enabled also but i can't find the option. I tried to install an apk an the phone shows me an error saying that i don't have t enabled for security reasons.
Before you tell me, yes, i did have my sd card in the phone and it was mounted. But sideloading doesn´t show up.
>I'd appreciate any help
Look here, its easier than it appears...

Es más fácil de lo que parece!
I checked that thread, but i honestly don´t know where to start. The page doesn´t explain much other than just show a script. how do i use it? im running on windows xp 32 bits
Nevermind, i used gladenabler and it worked perfectly. Thanks

I followed http://theunlockr.com/2009/08/27/how-to-root-your-htc-hero-in-one-click/ and rooted my phone successfully.
Afterwards i installed the SU and Superuser.apk as suggested on other tutorials, verified it from the computer (shell su) and clicked always allow on the window that popped up on the phone.
But every time i tryed to use the su (for instance with g1teather) i get a black empty window named "SU Request" that wont load.
since i figured i failed with a unknown part of my previous experiments, i threw in modaco´s updated rom image as described here:
http://theunlockr.com/2009/08/27/how-to-load-a-custom-rom-on-your-htc-hero/
And still the SU Request window wont load properly.
This is quite irritating since i cant turn on/off wifi teather or any of the other stuff for witch i rooted my phone (and voided warranty), so i feel a bit pissed off atm..
Can anyone plz help me figure this out?
Try turning on USB Debugging in Settings > Application Settings > Development
I'm pretty sure I remember that helping someone else
i was a bit vauge..
the first time the SU Request window loaded, it loaded fine.
But that was the last time it worked..
will try the usb debug and post feedback in a bit
the usb debug worked like a charm!
on/off tethering works flawlessly now, thanks a bunch for your help!
no problem matey :]
Brand new phone...can't believe i did something wrong only a few hours into it!?
To cut to it, i am not able to run anything on my PC to my Atrix bc the phone is not visible to it via usb sync. It DOES still see it if i needed to transfer files etc, just not so i can flash anything to it off the PC.
And not sure if it has anything to do with it, but it seems like i ran into my problem when i inserted and formatted my SD card. Here's what i did (and i hadn't gotten very far):
I rooted with SuperOneClick, then I installed DG's Adeo ROM and the update.
I was trying to install Gingerbread and was just putting busybox installer on my phone when i went to put my SD card in there from my old phone. i formatted the card and it seemed after i did that i lost connectivity via the USB. It could still access the phone, but everytime i run ATRIX4G_MobileTV_GBTheme.bat it hangs at "daemon started succesfully" . It also hangs if i try to run SuperOneClick again on "waiting for device."
I wasn't sure what to do to get it running right again so i did a full wipe from the settings. Still can't connect
Any help be greatly appreciated. i've literally had this phone 4 hours so sorry if i'm missing something dumb
Try running aRoot (search this forum) and then trying all that.
thanks for that suggestion, gonna try that....just as soon as the damn search function comes back!!
oh the waiting...i am not going to be able to sleep tonight till i get somethin happenin
No need to search, it's only hanging about 3-5 posts down in this section. It's also here:

Ran aRoot - seems to run through the steps without a failure, but it went VERY fast, like 3 seconds...and it hangs when i try to "unroot"
so, all in all it seems like its still not recognizing the phone as before when connected through USB

Do you have Root Explorer? If so, look in /sbin and see if you have 'adbd' showing
OR
Have you tried installing the ADB interface from the Android SDK? See if your device can be seen? If not see THIS ARTICLE (external link to addictivetips) on setting up ADB.
No, I don't have Root Explorer
I installed SDK and ADB and it does show up, but only when the USB setting is set to "Motorola phone portal." None of the other options it shows up in device mgr.
I am kinda stabbing in the dark at this point...thinking maybe it's a driver issue?
maybe if i uninstall all the drivers and start from scratch i might have some luck? i actually did unistall all the drivers thru device mgr, but they just came right back next time i connected...so maybe i need to delete them entirely?
any suggestions to trouble shoot this greatly appreciated...i know it's probably small potatos but i'm really jammed up here...
Moved as not android development
Have you tried installing the latest drivers again directly from the Motorola Mobility site? You can install Media Link or just the drivers with MotoHelper. For some reason my phone installed all of this, but there were updates available immediately.
The ADB interface should function when USB is set to None.
Sent from my Rooted Atrix using Tapatalk Pro
Yeah i actually did a system restore and reinstalled all the drivers etc.
I can see the phone now in the device mgr under ADB interface when connection is set to "None" for USB
But still hangs when trying to flash basically anything
Do you have or can you pick up a Terminal Emulator in the Market and list the files in /sbin? See if you have adbd...
From $
su
cd /sbin
ls (Lower case L, not 1)
Look through list of files for adbd.
Sent from my Rooted Atrix using Tapatalk Pro
OK, No it's not in there
See this post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11738847&postcount=1 and the cooresponding thread for replacing adbd. There's another post in the thread about changing the permissions so that it doesn't get lost again with a reboot. You might have to purchase Root Explorer since you cannot push anything via ADB over USB.

This seems to be the type of problem i am having, very much thanks for directing me to that other thread.
At this point i have copied ADB to the sbin folder but nothing flashing yet...need to read through that thread more and play with it.
What a PITA so far but thanks so much for the help!
No problem. I hope it works out. If you don't mind, post up and let me know if you get it going and what it took so we can try to help others.

Dear fellows,
I got nicely rooted Nook Touch (and have never asked such dummy questions) with plenty of applications working on it - all of them uploaded and tested via try/error approach. Unfortunately, I did not use it for quite some time.
Now, can see:
1) the left-handed hardware buttons stopped to work - the upper one was used as a "Back" button, the one below it as a "Settings"
2) Cannot connect via adb from my laptop
3) Some programs like AdFree started to push a kind of annoying messages like "Unable to get root. I was unable to get root access, without this you cannot install a replacement hosts file", etc.
1), 2) and 3) make me think that somehow my NST got "unrooted". How can it happen and what I can do ? I am thinking of rooting it again, but will I lost all the .apk-s installed, etc..?
Any ideas really appreciated, many thanks in advance
Any help ?
Thanks in advance!
Sounds to me that your NST got updated.
Go into Settings and check your software version.
Hi ros,
I thought of this as well. Unfortunately I can't remember if it was 1.0.1 prior rooting or just 1.0.0. At the moment it is definitely 1.0.1. I saw that B&N has just released 1.1.0 too ..
As far as I remember xe-autonook.bat had the section that blocks OTA updates,
also after rooting I did not got over the official update procedure (update screens, restarts, etc.), so seems to be something else ...
Anyway, since it already happened - if I choose the option to root it again - will I destroy everything - is it rewriting /system/apps, etc.?
Thanks

Hmm, what root method did you use in the first place?
Autonooter ? The one that is using the xe-autonook.bat - replacing the uRamdisk and then doing few other steps, the bat mentioned above is just automating the procedure.
Now I did check .. and voilla - now the firmware is 1.1.0, so basically the OTA update took place and that's why the NST got unrooted. Do you see any possibilities beside rooting from scratch ? I just want to keep the installed applications and settings
Thanks

Use TouchNooter, it'll reroot you and you don't have to wipe /data
Great, thanks Gabrial!
Will try 1.11.20, which seems to be compatible to NST 1.1.
Result:
- su on terminal emulator is behaving as expected
- GMail running (never could get it running before)
- Market running (the same as GMail - never got running it before, used Amazon Appstore due to this reason)
...
- thankful, great and nice work, when I saw the bottom left sign on the initial ("Rooted Forever") window - "GabrialDestruir", I just realized who replied to me, cheerz!
Hi guys,
However I am wondering whether should I find a way to disable the OTA updates or whether to wait and receive the B&N and then reroot (as I did now for 1.1) ?
Thanks again
Is there no way of stoping the autoupdate? I worked a lot on that install ...
Thanks!

:highfive:have to thank Aivisa for posting first:good: (https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg...anogenmod-12-1-rom-twrp-lg-g3-stylus-t3675898)
Yo everyone I’ve been searching for custom roms for the lg g3 stylus for a while and found one that works…. I’ve made mistakes by downloading wrong roms for the lg g3 s which is not the same as lg g3 stylus.
If you’re not interested in CM Lollipop rom pls leave this page
I will not be held responsible or accountable for any mishaps, soft brick or ceased of operation of your phone. Everyone please rate! And don’t rush the process.
So, if you have made these mistakes and feel stuck or has messed up your stock and just need a way out try here.
I’ve found some proper resources around the net which I’ll try to lay in order. If you know what to do skip the steps, here are the files….
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1DMDWtksrgTdTZvRkptS3M4WDQ
STEP 1!:cyclops:
Root ya phone! Need root access.
Using kingroot for android (without pc)
OR
download iRoot for PC (with pc. Usb needed)
Always remember to activate developer mode for usb debugging
STEP 2!!
You will need busybox , A terminal and install both.
STEP 3!!!
Place these files to external_SD
Extract twrp.zip and move the files inside the folder,
cyanogenmod_v1_bugsfixed_release_d693,
open_gapps-arm-5.1-pico-20161228
STEP 4!!!!
Installing twrp
Open terminal
follow this video (it’s in Spanish)
you don’t have to install the theme like he did.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qog3-U-DoY0
if succeeded skip sub step 4!!!!
SUB STEP 4!!!!
for those who wants the command
Comand:
Su (Grant permission when asked)
dd if=/storage/external_SD/uboot.img of=/dev/uboot count=1024
dd if=/storage/external_SD/recovery.img of=/dev/recovery count=32768
reboot recovery
STEP 5!!!!!:fingers-crossed:
after you reboot recovery don’t change anything in the recovery if it asks.
Back up if u need to.
Hit wipe and wipe cache, this will not wipe your internal.
Go back out and go on install.
Locate the custom rom zip . After its installed do not reboot.
Go back out and locate your gapps zip and install
Then reboot.
And that’s it I hope everything goes smooth for you like mine did:victory:

HELP!!
I met with a problem...
My phone's screen is stuck, it just shows me LG Life's Good Powered by ANDROID.
What have I done wrong?
Now what should I do?
Device : LG G3 Stylus D690 (Rooted and running stock rom with android lollipop.
Thanks.
i have 4GB total storage size for internal SD. I have an 8gb device. Is this normal?
Edit:
Did some device tinkering, everything is accounted for. This is definitely way better than the stock ROM.
I can confirm the procedure works and you will end up having more internal storage for your apps. However i had to wipe system/dalvik/cache/data in twrp.
Feedback:
LG kernel double tap is disabled. Only cyanogen double tap status bar to turn off is built in. 3rd party app double tap to turn on is a battery hog so its pointless.
Replace CM camera with Open Camera to enable sdcard saving of photos.
Install notifyer to show icon badges (mail / messages counts in icon on home screen) -drawer icons not included. Another work around is to install 3rd party launcher like nova, go launcher, etc. But i prefer to minimize storage consumption.
The move to sdcard function doesnt seem to work for me though. Same for link2sd app. External sd could not be found. I look forward to marshmallow development on this one as it allows converting sdcard to internal storage.
Root is switchable via developer options for those who want to tinker with the ROM.
ROM runs smoothly without hiccups. Kudos to cristian torres who ported this for the G3 Stylus.

Unable to get into twrp. I'm only able to see the LG screen.
Its kinda tricky enterring into recovery mode.
1. Power off device
2. Hold vol down and power button
3. When you see the lg boot logo release the buttons and immediately press them again to go into twrp
Hope that works for you

bugs in CM12.1-20160901-unofficial-d693n. actualization channel nightly:
- hotspots (wifi zone).
- audios on whatsapp and calls are heard very low to hate without being able to control the volume.
- cannot update cm.
- sometimes the play store gets stuck and says waiting for download.
I found three ROMs on YouTube that I've shared here :: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=308172
One of them is the ROM from this thread.
None of this is my work. I'm only sharing what I found online.

Here's my story.
My carrier (hungarian Digi) supports VoWifi because their coverage isn't that good in the country. But, since the Poco F2 Pro isn't on their certified device list, I wasn't able to use it. After some research I found several possible solutions and with the following steps now I can use it, even with airplane mode on. This guide will make some change on your EFS partition, I suggest you to make a backup (I didn't, lol).
I did this with lineage-18.1-20210731-nightly-lmi-signed on my phone.
1.: Download the latest QPST Tool v2.7.496
2.: Install the driver and select the ETHERNET one.
3.: Install the QPST Tool.
4.: Restart your PC.
5.: Connect your phone to your PC.
6.: Open the windows command line and copy the following:
adb shellsusetprop sys.usb.config diag,serial_cdev,rmnet,adb
7.: Start the PDC from your start menu. If everything went good, you can choose your device from the dropdown list. Now's the tricky part. I suggest you to search for "your carrier+vowifi+pdc". What worked for me in the next step not necessarily work for you.
8.: Search for SmartFren_VoWifi_Comercial (Please, do your research. This is working for the hungarian Digi.).
9.: Right click/SetSelectedConfig/Sub0
10.: Right click/SetSelectedConfig/Sub1
11.: Click on the Activate button on the bottom. Boom, VoWifi is working. Good job
2021. 08. 16.
It's working on the latest official LOS rom.
With xiaomi.eu i had to type the commands in about 20 times before PDC was able to see my phone, but it's working.
I wasn't able to see my phone on the PDC with the last Evox rom.
Part 2 because I can't make a post with more than 2000 characters (lol):
This is the most simple explanation. This was the first time I used this program, so I'm not your guy if you don't understand something
*This worked for me, but please don't start to mess around with your phone if you're not confident enough. I'm not responsible for any damage you'll make. Please, don't forget to search for what PDC profile you'll need to activate. I'm not sure what will happen if you start to enable random settings.*
Porque no haces un tutorial hablas de bajar cosas pero de dónde los sacamos

MOD EDIT: English Translation Below
Because you don't do a tutorial, you talk about downloading things, but where do we get them from?
Edit: Added in the su line (i think i forgot it), now it should work for everybody.
Hi there
I have got the following error message in cmd: "/system/bin/sh: su: inaccessible or not found". It seems my phone is not rooted and this is the reason for that message, according to google... I am a bit confused now, as the title of this post says if no root needed.
Előre is köszi
I'm so sorry, I edited the title. It turned out that the rom that i used at the first time was possibly pre-rooted.
The guide now have that you need root for it. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
