Hey guys just got my Hd2 and I asked the seller to put lastest sense on which he did it is on nand but the graphical glitches annoy me and I am playing with this phone (I am on Verizon) so I don't need data working just a non graphicl sense rom and how.to flash over this rom

Seeing as how you have such a high post count I'd have expected you to have read up on the how to's. >.>
Anyways, opinions aside, you need to elaborate. For example which version of sense, what rom, bootloader (cLK or MAGLDR?), etc.
Also please elaborate on what you're looking for. When you say graphical glitches, do you mean "animation" glitches? Or do you mean like some things don't appear right, say the lockscreen looks messed up, or the notification bar looks wrong, etc. If it's "animation" then go to settings, display then you'll see animations and you can turn them off. Or you can download spare parts and use that to turn them off.
Anyways a basic all working sense rom is cotulla's stock desire. It's not rooted however, but you can easily root it with z4root. Or you can try imika's desire z/hd builds.
True I tried to understand how I am on a Verizon fascinate so its much easier to put find so I am stuck on trying to understand.
And what I mean by graphical glitches is that the screen in random parts there are gray scrambled bits like on a old tv

Which build are you using? Well doesn't matter which build it guess since its causing problems. Anyways are you using clk or MAGLDR?
If you're using clk then your phone should be able to charge whilst you're phone us off. To enter cwm, I think it's hold home key while you turn on the phone, which I'm guessing you're familiar with.cwm already so just flash a different rom from there.
If you're using MAGLDR, your phone should go to a menu when you turn on the phone and hold the power button. In that menu navigate to ad clockwork and that will take you to cwm. Another way to flash time through MAGLDR is through usb flasher, but may only work if the build you downloaded came with a daf. exe or something similar.

Recently installed Android on my phone everything works perfectly except for one thing. Some installed applications will not boot "full screen". Meaning almost half of the screen is black even when i turn the display. Can't find any related information to this when i searched the forum. Any idea's?

+1, don't forget to reboot afterwards, it won't work without that.
Pongster clearly refers to this matter in post #1 on his build page under the 'Tips @ Tricks' section.

My brother in law recently switched over to SPRINT and gave me his pretty new DX. I can't activate the phone until next week (because he made the mistake of porting the phone number BEFORE he gave me the phone) so according to VZW i have to wait until that process is completed and the billing cycle is finished before I can use the phone. (I don't think he plans on paying them )
My question is...can I root the DX before I actually get it linked to my VZW phone number? (like remove google apps and just use the phones capabilities like camera etc. without having to call and activate it) I'm coming from HTC Droid eris so I don't know much about rooting the DX yet.
Can someone help me please.
I believe you can, I think theirs a way to bypass the activation screen. You might be able to find it on the forums or if not just Google it I'm sure you can find it.

Yes you can root it without being on a network. all you need to do is go back out of this thread and read the first sticky and go to the wiki. I would post link but since this is my first actual post i cant
And after your phone reboots you can get passed the little android man by touching each corner in a circular motion.
I hope for your sake that your brother in law pays Verizon. If he doesn't in they most likely blacklist the phones esn.

But keep in mind if the phone doesn't have OTA 2.2 you might want to keep all apps because the update might fail because missing files.

You don't even need to do the 4 corner trick.
Touch the android, hit next until you have the options of "create google login, sign in, or skip" and just choose skip. That easy.
That's assuming he's at the "touch to begin screen" which he probably isn't being that he's the second owner.
...but yeah, check the sticky and root away.
Thanks for the information guys. Yeah I really hope that they allow him to give me his phone. I kept verifying with the rep that it would be okay to transfer the phone, he said it should be okay since it's HIS property. But i never know with those guys...
I don't plan on removing any apps at all I just want get the root access and ready so when I do hook it up, it'll be ready to go.
I'm excited to see what you guys have in store for this phone...especially coming from the Eris.
Just connect with wifi and use as normal. That easy. You can even setup a google account and use market and have all the sweet and chewies of using the X less the ability of calls and texts.
As stated above, if he doesn't pay the bill VzDubya will (normally) put the phone on the do not activate list. Again though this wont effect use while connected to wifi.
Will I have to set the phone to USB debugging mode if I try and root?
If so, I dont think I'll be able to root since I can't even get passed the "Activation Screen"
Also, how can I check to see what android version he is on (2.1 or 2.2) How do I look at the bootloader info...can I do that w/o Root? Is that dangerous? I don't want to brick the phone...
sorry for all the questions guys appreciate your patience.
Anyone?
Press menu then setting scroll to the bottom of the list to about phone click it and your info will be there. Just a thought if you don't know how to find something that simple are you sure you want to be playing with root.

Actually if you read the first post. The phone is not activated yet, so I don't have the option to "menu>settings".
And Yes, I rooted my Eris. Thanks.
I got my legend running the latest azure Tom, and the other day I accidentally pressed both menu and back.
My phone vibrated, went slow for a little bit and then vibrated 3 times quickly.
Does anyone know what it's doing?

Always wondered why this happened, I only noticed it when I started using the Azure ROM.
This combination makes a bugreport-bla-bla-bla.txt file at SDCard (in "bugreports" folder).
This file contains a logcat output and some other tech info about your device.
Useful for debug purposes only.
Thanks, who knew

@Kot_Ik: bloody hell, cheers for that.
...and it is defined in init.rc. Was disabled by default in CM nightly.

Been lurking around here since my vx6700 and you all never disappoint but now I need to ask a question. For some reason whenever I try to seek forward while watching a video the phone freezes, sometimes even causing it to reboot. Like I said, I have tried at least 7 different media players and the same thing happens. The length of the video seems to matter more than the file size, but it could just be an illusion.

More info- its been doing this since I upgraded from froyo to liberty, tried a couple of those roms and now on the official leaked gingerbread and the same thing. Anybody?? Anyone?? Really??....

Have you tried an SBF or wiping data?
have never done the SBF thing because from what i read about it kind of makes me nervous (can it be done from any computer, do i need to install anything on the computer, do i need to be an "administrator") and how do you "wipe data". i am kind of a noob with these droid phones and all the terminology makes them seem more confusing than making a couple registry edits on WMphones
Alright first try wiping data: turn off the phone and boot while holding the home button. When you see the android, press the the search button (if nothing happens, press both volume buttoms) navigate to wipe data with the volume buttons and use the camera button to select it.
SBF is very simple, but yes you need a computer, and you will need administrative rights on the computer
thanks for responding, one more question. if i wipe data will i mess anything up because i am on the latest GB leak installed via liberty and i am rooted, have netflix working and wireless tether too and dont wanna jump through all those hoops again. i think i would rather do without seeking (and damn near saved movies) altogether
You may lose netflix and what you have done. Try backing it up with data using titanium backup
Thanks for the feedback. I will give myself another week and see if it is still bothering me and go from there. With netflix on deck those saved movies can kick rocks. Looks like I may have a lot more room for music.

On the Wildfire S you can chose a power setting called "Quick Boot". This makes it boot up in less than 15 seconds!
Can we get this on our wildfires?
Unlikely, at best
EDIT: It seems, "Hot Reboot", provided in some Sense ROM's, provides this functionality. I have not tested it personally, and, I have no idea about the actual improvements it gives, but the concept seems the same.
Description here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=792542
Also, on further digging into this topic there are a lot of apps in the Market which claim to do this. Just do a search for "Hot Reboot"
I think all that hot reboot does is close all the apps...

And restart Android System Server Process. Essentially a reboot.
lol, now I wish I had tried this out when I was on Wildpuzzle.
Hotboot works in CM7 terminal emulator

Shame its only a reboot rather than standard boot up

Wonder whether i could pull a s few apks of wildfire S roms and install settings?
What ones would i need?
How did you verify that the Wildfire S Quick Boot is a "Standard Bootup"?
normal mooting
normal mooting is good then quick booting
Well the "quick" startups that the newer phones have aren't actually startups.
All it does if you turn of the phone is put it into hibernation.
It will take a long time to boot if you battery pull.
