Not all applications full screen? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Recently installed Android on my phone everything works perfectly except for one thing. Some installed applications will not boot "full screen". Meaning almost half of the screen is black even when i turn the display. Can't find any related information to this when i searched the forum. Any idea's?

+1, don't forget to reboot afterwards, it won't work without that.
Pongster clearly refers to this matter in post #1 on his build page under the 'Tips @ Tricks' section.

Rebooting option on endkey long press?

I tried another android rom the other day and when i long pressed on the endkey to shut down and restart the system, to my surprise there was a reboot option and it actualy worked. I tried most of the reboot apps and widgets in the market and none of them work on the darkstone im running.
Is there any way i can get that reboot on endkey long press in the darkstone, or some app confirmed to work on the rom?

Guess nobody else knows what that link is supposed to supply. Still looking and searching on how to get the reboot option on long press end key.
If that link was meant to use that rom, thats the one i tried and had the reboot option
Google disabled the Reboot function on the Nexus One, and Darkstone's HD2Froyo v2 is based on the Nexus One, so the function is not there.

Just got Hd2 question

Hey guys just got my Hd2 and I asked the seller to put lastest sense on which he did it is on nand but the graphical glitches annoy me and I am playing with this phone (I am on Verizon) so I don't need data working just a non graphicl sense rom and how.to flash over this rom

Seeing as how you have such a high post count I'd have expected you to have read up on the how to's. >.>
Anyways, opinions aside, you need to elaborate. For example which version of sense, what rom, bootloader (cLK or MAGLDR?), etc.
Also please elaborate on what you're looking for. When you say graphical glitches, do you mean "animation" glitches? Or do you mean like some things don't appear right, say the lockscreen looks messed up, or the notification bar looks wrong, etc. If it's "animation" then go to settings, display then you'll see animations and you can turn them off. Or you can download spare parts and use that to turn them off.
Anyways a basic all working sense rom is cotulla's stock desire. It's not rooted however, but you can easily root it with z4root. Or you can try imika's desire z/hd builds.
True I tried to understand how I am on a Verizon fascinate so its much easier to put find so I am stuck on trying to understand.
And what I mean by graphical glitches is that the screen in random parts there are gray scrambled bits like on a old tv

Which build are you using? Well doesn't matter which build it guess since its causing problems. Anyways are you using clk or MAGLDR?
If you're using clk then your phone should be able to charge whilst you're phone us off. To enter cwm, I think it's hold home key while you turn on the phone, which I'm guessing you're familiar with.cwm already so just flash a different rom from there.
If you're using MAGLDR, your phone should go to a menu when you turn on the phone and hold the power button. In that menu navigate to ad clockwork and that will take you to cwm. Another way to flash time through MAGLDR is through usb flasher, but may only work if the build you downloaded came with a daf. exe or something similar.

Did you follow all of the instructions correctly?
Look In OP in this thread. Pick a camera link. Now once you've done so:
1) Download apk to sd card
2) Use Root Explorer and copy it to system\app
3) Rename existing HTCCamera.apk to HTCCamera.bak
4) Rename the new camera to HTCCamera.apk
5) Long press on new HTCCamera.apk and click permissions
6) Set permissions to Owner RW/Group R/Others R
7) Reboot!
8) Head to settings/applications and clear data from camera (this will fix FFC FC)
As far as widgetsoid, I cannot help you. But there are Quick settings in the notifications bar. Save your phone some space, and delete Widgetsoid.
I got widgetsoid working and the camera I am using is the one that comes with the ROM I dowloaded another but turning off wide screen made it work but mirror is unable to notice it so my best course of action is switch camera's

I had the issue you have to go into settings and actually enable it. Crazy right?
I'm having an issue with Messages forcing close
as well as the phone being overall slow as hell. I'm going to uninstall some thigns to see if maybe that could be the case.. Put literally.. Preview 5, without the toolkit seemed to treat me a lil bit better.
I have not, but I will try now.

[Q] Screen Calibration Tool for CM7 on NC?

Would there happen to be a screen calibration tool for the NOOK Color running CM7? I've noticed that every now and then I can be clicking on a specific spot and I get no response. If I click somewhere around that targeted spot, it works (i.e. pressing a button or link). I notice this happening most using the NOOK app, as I cannot click any of the three buttons in the upper right-hand portion of the app (help, settings, search). None of those work for me, so I'm curious to know if this is a screen calibration issue or just something related to the NOOK app.
I have the same problem with the Nook app. Haven't tried it yet, but maybe have a look in Google Market by searching for "Nook Screen Recalibrate".
Sorry, can't post direct links yet!
Here's a link for such an app on XDA. Developed for the g-tab, but works on the Nook Color as I have had it on mine with CM7 under both stable and nightlies.

seems that this tool (http://vegantab.gojimi.com/wp-content/uploads/releases/TouchRecalibrate.apk) is good? i can tap the search icon in market very well now.

Nook Screen Recalibrate from Google Market is what I've always used, never had a problem with it. I sometimes get calibration issues (lack of sensitivity in spots) when flashing a new rom (or flashing a new anything) and this always fixes it.

Disable softkey backlight?

I like to use the on screen keys. I figured out how to disable the softkeys but can't figure out how to disable the backlight for the softkeys. Would anyone happen to know how?
Thanks!
In settings, go to the "My device tab", then select Display. Under "Touch key light duration" you should be able to set that to "Always off"
Hope this helps.
