Hi All!
I've now spent several days trying to run the native usb teher without 3rd app, on different roms with no luck. Among all roms I tried, only one worked based on sense (I d'ont remember exactly which one it was sorry ).
Procedure
For all non working roms, I first plug the USB to my HD2, then activate the USB Tethering from Android (Setting=>Wireless & networks=>Tethering & portable hotspot then tick "USB tethering"). The phone displays "therered".
Observed Result
I tried both on windows 7 64 and windows xp 32 with the same behavior: windows do not detect new hardware and the device manager does not show question marks for unrecognized devices.
Unfortunately it doesn't work for my favorite roms, whereas the "What Work" section of those roms says it should.
Here are my favorite roms :
NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.7
HyperDroidGBX-v12
BOYPPC-SHIFTPDA DESIRE HD V14*GINGER 2.3.4_Sense&HoneyComB V22*MIUI V3
I would really be pleased if someone could help me, give a feeback or share its own experience with those roms.
Note: for each rom, I tried different rom installation methods (MAGLDR or cLK). I also tried to use 3rd app from the market (none worked), and the following app : android-wired-tether
for which it only works one time on a fresh andoid installation
If you have cLK installed still you can use ROM Manager to download and install a new SuperUser app by opening ROM Manager>Download ROM>Extras. Or you can do a search for SuperUser in the Android Market and install the most recent version if you use MAGLDR or do not want to use ROM Manager with cLK. You can get ROM Manager from the Android Market also but nit only works with cLK.
I recently had a similar issue with my HotSpot in the HyperDroid ROM I use and updating my SuperUser fixed it.
Not everything works like the way we wanted it works. We just have to find a way as long as it work. Here you go.

First thx for your reply, I update the super user app from the market to the lastest version, but the native USB tethering still don't work (exactly the same behavior as my first description).
Do you personally manage to get it working? If yes, which rom are you using?

Hi,
How can I download apps from Android Market to my PC (Windows)?
10x
If you want to download android apps you have to be running Android on your windows phone. - You should actually read before asking questions like this. I see per your post you are already running a custom rom on your phone so as you have already hspl, all you have to do is download a build of android from this forum to you desktop, plug in your phone and hit storage not sync and extract the build to the root of your storage card -
you also need to have a google email account to use the market.

Or, you can google "android. apk download" and some will come up, but you wont be able to do anything with them, keep them updated, and some might not even work.

10x for all replies, but I see that I made some confusion.
I have couple of Apps from Market that fail to install on my "mattc Leo + Froyo w/Sense RC1.4" build. I found in the thread that if I download them on PC and transfer to HD2 they may successfully be installed.
I did not find the APK on the net (google...and more), the only place is on the Market.
So here again I the QUESTION : How can I download application from the Market to my home desktop PC. Is there any Windows XP/7 clients available to do so?
You will have search google because there is no way to downlaod apps to the pc from the market.

Personally I use android commander when ever I need to install an app that wont install or uninstall.
I tried 2 seperate roms. Experience and AOSP magic rom and both seems to break Wifi Tethering for me. When I start the app, it says unable to start try again. I've try to reinstall no luck either.

If you are using Epic Experience, the compatible version of Wireless tether is put on your SD card..
Use a file manager and find the folder called "Epic Experience" its in there. Do not install it from the market.
http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/downloads/list
pre 8 and 9 work i believe (i use 9 but i think others include 8 which works on Epic).
i've heard that after flashing a new ROM you may have to go into settings > applications > manage applications > wireless tether and clear data. might want to try that
I figured out the problem. After applying the new rom, the Super User permission got erased. The quick fix for me was to re-root with super user to reset everything then it worked again.
Same goes with a lot of other programs that needed SU permission.
I have the AmeriCanAndroid ROM installed on my HTC HD2. It works great, and I can download and install most apps in the Android market. But, there are a few apps, like the Nook book reader, that the market won't let me install because the market doesn't recognize the HD2 as a valid Android device. Has anyone found a work-around for this problem?
