Hi, has anybody else had the problem where you get a voice mail but the phone hasn't rang and has no missed calls and still have a full signal. I then cant make any calls as it will not connect until I reboot the phone (and cant also receive any calls as well). After a reboot it is then All OK again
Cheers
Payneardo
That happens to me to sometimes.
My operator sends an sms if someone has called and I missed it. But there are no missed calls in t he phone.

no auto task killer but use system panel manually, do you think I maybe killing the phone service ?? as sure I excluded it
Cheers
If youve excluded it then that's almost certainly not the problem

This happened to me with X10 frequently. I receive sms notification that someone tried calling me while I'm offline, but I wasn't!!
So far Arc only did it once, but on both phones I don't have to restart. They fix themselves.
I have the same problem. Thought might be something wrong with my ears that I missed the call but this is very unpleasent. Arc is a phone so a basic feature is to be available.
Hope this will be fixed.
regards,
Vintiem

at the moment it is 7% since my last reboot but not had any calls "missed" yet.

I'm not sure if this is the Niki itself, or just my provider, but it's not rare that I have to restart it to receive SMS, or calls, it could be either/or.
I'm using N Telenor (Norway).
Anyone have any similar experiences, or ideas on how to fix it?
I have to say, so far it is a very stable phone.
no reported missed calls or sms!
I had the same problem with a HTC Mteor, but on the N NetCom network.
At the time I eventually concluded that it had to do with bad network coverage/signal strength.
A change of ROM to a later version helped a bit.
Setting network to auto (so that it changed between 3g and gsm) helped, but battery life suffered... still, it is better to recharge more often, than not getting any calls..
I have not had this problem with the Niki... (yet)

Go to Setting > Call and see if DDTM is checked. If it is, uncheck it. This will cause calls to not come through while surfing the web.

Also, enable the Call Guard in Settings/Wireless and Networks/Mobile Networks? What does that do exactly?

It prompts you before making a phone call while roaming to see if you want to go forth with the call.

Thanks, I was off on that one
Hi guys, when i recieve or make a call, the GPRS connection drops off and im not able to browse or get emails during calls :confused :.. i was using a nokia N8 before n i was able to do the same on N8.. is there a patch or tweak that i can make to get the GPRS running while on call... never mind the battery drains .. it would be great if anyone could help me or give info on the same.. thanx in advance
These phones have only one channel and hence either voice or data can be active at a time. You cannot use GRPS and voice at the same time
well thats a bit dissapointing..but i can live with that i guess..
Oh! I never knew that limitation with i9003.
These so called smartphone seems too dumb in certain areas.
It is same even on iPhone

Even I use internet grps 2g & receive calls have never tried using internet & making a call too at the same time. May be there is some limitation not sure about this.
hmm...have you tried browsing while on a call?
The thing is that u can recieve the calls even when on gprs 2g but it seems the connection gets cut off while on a call, but there is no issue of not recieving a call..

falex007 .. i dont think there should be a problem like that.. i tether the gprs with my pc through kies and i do recieve calls while its tethered..
The problem is not with the phone, its the way 2G works. It works on a single channel for GPRS and voice. SMS is on diff channel.
That is why we hv 3G!!!

Agree with you even I felt the same.
I am trying to find an app that gives me a notification on my A500 when I get a phone call or text on my android phone. Does anyone know of such an app?
I am not looking to send texts from my tab just get the notifications.
Just listen to your phone, I am sure it notifies you
Probably about the best you could hope for, is some sort of enhanced dialing app for your phone, that sends an e-mail when calls come in. Then your tab, if you have a wifi connection, would have a mail notification.
If your tab was an a501, you could receive an sms (specific carriers)
But as far as an app for your tab, I don;t think such an app exists. The 500 doesn't have a radio. And the 501, has a nuetered radio for sms and data.

Yeah, it appears to maybe take care of the sms issue, provided you're under the same wifi network. Not quite sure what would happen if you, leave your phone at home, and you're out on the road, as it seems it doesn't work. Looks like it only works when on the same wifi network. With bluetooth, you have to be less than 6ft or so.

Doesn't do anything with calls though.

So far it seems everything works as it should with my watch but I do not get notifications when an incoming call comes through to my cell. Anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it? Also I'm not connected VIA SIM card and don't plan to do so. Any help is appreciated!

For anyone who may run into this. Note this is only for those who don't activate the LTE sim and add to your plan
- factory reset
- let AW update to latest
- update all apps
- disable SIM
- DO NOT SETUP THE CALL SETUP APP
Hi,
I have the exact issues of calls not notified.
Are the update (last part) of your post the fix for it?
Thanks!

Yeah give those steps a try. It takes some time because you have to let things update. I'd suggest trying to get your WiFi setup so it can use that to update and keep your Bluetooth off until it's done otherwise it'll try and do so through Bluetooth and that's just too damn slow.

Awesome. Now you get to enjoy all the perks. Only thing you can't do is take a call with the watch. Honestly I don't see a good use case for that anyways. My use case is to be able to ignore calls without having to pull my phone out. Very handy in meetings.

Yes! Thanks for your help!
The main use for me is similar: being able to see who's calling and decide if I want to reach for my phone
Also, I just realized the way the watch is connected matters to call notification as well. Hope it wasn't something everyone else already knew:
I found out watch screen notification for calls will only work when airplane mode is turned off (even with sim disabled) and watch is connected to the phone through bluetooth. Wifi on watch wouldn't do the trick. If airplane mode is on, the call screen will not come on no matter what type of connection there was.
According to some users, using only BT connection saves battery life anyway!

I'm not sure what the conditions are, but I'm getting incoming call notifications on my wear 24, and I run in airplane mode with all radios except Bluetooth turned off...
Make and receive calls
After phone is setup and no calls or incoming calls that's all I found you do was go to settings, apps, system apps, Verizon messages app and disable and then enable and back to main screen click calling setup and 911 address page comes up click address to use and you should see phone calling activated pop up on screen and should then be able to make and receive calls but you'll need to connect earbuds or headset because Mic was disabled after 2.0 update. Hope this works. I did notice the first time doing this you have to click on remove updates.
