got to the sevice menu(type *#*#7378423#*#* in the phone) and look under software info
or check the ro.semc.version.cust number in the build.prop file in the system folder(you need root & root explorer)
there is a list somewhere with all build numbers but i'm still looking for it

LOL, no one probably knows because most on this forum are r00ted....
The CRC build should be CRC1, I know that much and the firmware version should be 1.5, I will have to look into the others.
I am rooted too..........but I need to know. LOL
it should read the .19.26 radio as well i believe, i am not sure on any of the other stuff though cause i keep updating daily to new roms. why do you need to know what it should say?? as long as it is unrooted or has never been rooted and shows 1.5 then the rest will come up as it is supposed to, on a non-rooted phone there is no way to change the radio without the entire build being changed or anything else.
I am having some phone issues need to return and want to make sure it is current when I return it!
Model Number -T-Mobile G1
Firmware Version -1.5
Baseband Version- 62.50S.20.17H_2.22.19.26I
Kernel Version- 2.6.27-00393-g6607056 [email protected] #1
Build Number- CRC1
HOPE THATS WORKS FOR YOU =)
Hi all, i have been looking for some cool mods and found the extra power menu and it appears you need either [62][58][42].
I believe i have -36.
Is my logic right?
I have the gsm version with baseband 20302204-36.
does [62][58][42] in the title represent the last two numbers of the base band?
Thanks
sorry I'm haveing a brain fart, i was using mt htc raider for a few months and have come back to my play for a while, i want to get use to se again as I'm looking to get the xperia s in march.
Your version is [368] which is the firmware before [42], you need 4.0.2.A.0.XX (XX being 42, 58, or 62)
All I remember about the basebands is, .368 is -36 and .62 is -64
dont look at just the baseband
look for build number at the bottom of settings/about phone
you can run a different baseband in different firmware
I use .62 firmware with 36 baseband
see attached screenshot
Sorry for being such a noob but I have never ordered a device internationally before. Anyways I have just rooted my device (SM-P605) and I'm curious what the latest firmware is because I don't believe I get OTA upgrades here in the States. Right now I'm running Android 4.3 on baseband version P605XXUBMJ4 and Build Number JSS15J.P605ZSUBMJ6.
Is there a newer version I should be using? Trying to check via the official bounces me to Your device has been modified. Software updates are not available.
Also, are there plans for Kit Kat in the future? Or perhaps there already is a mod that includes the latest version of Android.
MJ9 is the Latest i guess

This is why you can't get OTA updates - because you are rooted.
This is where you can get the latest firmware

Yes, but no release date is set, or known by us. Samsung said "soon".
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2601477
How do I manually upgrade to MJ9? Do I need to un-root and flash to stock before doing anything. I also notice that my basebuild and build are running different numbers. How did that happen, is it a problem, and how do you fix it?

I'd also like to know if there is a specific version of the upgrade that I need to download. Region specific. I don't want to brick it. Will any download of P605XXUBMJ9 run perfectly on this device? Do I also need a certain file to upgrade the baseband?

You will not brick it, in the worst case you'd have to flash it again with another CSC. CSC is the region of your device. For a close shot, forget about the country and either flash US firmwares if your device is US, or EU firmwares if your device is anywhere from Europe.
No, it is included in the firmware file. There is absolutely no reason to look for a baseband file (or RIL).
Unless your driver somehow got screwed, which usually happens when you install wrong, or badly matched kernels. In that case you will hear very disturbed sound (this error is very clear, if you get this problem, you know 100% that it is there. It isn't like "did i hear a scratch in my speaker for a second?").

Get Odin, get the drivers, read the instruction. Just the usual odin procedure.
You don't need to unroot/re-stock, but if you are very paranoid, you can use a custom recovery to wipe /system before flashing (don't do it unless you know you need it. If you don't - you don't need to do it. I am only telling you this because you might want it in the future when you try many different modded ROMs).
Baseband and build v. can differ, this is not a problem nor something you should worry about.

have u guys tried older firmware like mj2 or mia? if mj9 is hackable then older versions also likely can be hacked from what i learnt. but the question is, whether a bootloader downgrade is allowed/possible

do you know if there is any firmware for sm-p605 with multiple user support?
No there isnt. When KitKat comes we get Multiuser Support.
You can't downgrade the bootloader.
Flashing an older firmware that the bootloader doesn't support will end up with a tablet hanging on the samsung logo. Just need to reflash newer firmware to fix
Flashing a bootloader for another device - you might as well throw it off a highrise and hope it still works when it hits bottom...
P600 and P601 roms WILL NOT work with the P605. It's like trying to use helicopter parts to fix a car engine....
When I go to Settings > About phone, I can see my build number, which is vns-l23c45b130, but at the very bottom, I also see "Custom version: CUSTC45D002". Does anyone know what this means and if it has any affect on what roms I can safely flash?

It means that the firmware was custom made for your carier ( they modified it)
Would that have any impact on which roms I can flash?

How can we remove such custom patches (carrier custom patches) without rooting?
(I got an update while I was traveling in Singapore. But now I don't need that. EMUI 10 update also contains update for carrier custom patch... I need to remove it before upgrading to EMUI 10)

The " Device 7 Binary 6 " error means that this version of firmware that you want to install has an older version of bootloader. and by installing the wrong firmware, that means your bootloader version has changed into a new one, maybe the newest by now. What your phone is trying to say in other words is that you can't downgrade your bootloader.
Explanation for what I wrote above is quite simple, ignore the last 4 characters on each version that you posted here, and you have: G935FXXS7xxxx and G935FXXS6xxxx.
Using TWRP is the best way to avoid the problem of different versions of bootloaders.
Though, you shall wait for samsung to upload a newer version if you trully wish to have your phone stock 100%.
