Hello
What is a nandroid backup? How do i do a nandroid backup? I have a nexus one flashed CM 6.00 RC2
Thanks in advance
basically a nandroid is a image of your phone, like a backup in windows, when you restore a nandroid it puts your phone back how it was when you made it, with data and apps and everything.
well, first you gotta boot into recovery.
which did you install? Clockwork or Amon_Ra? Not that they are that different
Then go to backup/restore and select nandroid backup then restore it whenevery your phone/rom is not working correct.
I installed ROM manager and flashed the clockwork mod. In the ROM manager do i enter recovery mode?

Click to collapse
You can, or you can select backup current rom in rom manager
Hi all. Just wondering, I just made a backup via cwm recovery. So do I have to flash the original main Rom first then flash the backup or I do not need to flash the main Rom at all? Thanks in advance!
simply go in recovery to backup/restore, select restore and you are set. CWM backs up everything including rom boot sdext etc
hey guys having problem while restoring your backup files I've a solution:good:
sometimes we get problem while using custom roms or we brick our phone
but we can backup our stock rom through CMW but the problem is that is gives problem while restoring it which is bit annoying
Go to Stock Recovery
Select WIPE CACHE
Select WIPE DATA
Now go to Clockmodrecovery (CMW)
Clear data
clear cache
restore and backup
select restore
select the backup file
BE PATIENT IT WILL TAKE TIME TO RESTORE
WHEN YOU'RE DONE REBOOT STOCK RECOVERY
THEN REBOOT ENJOY!!
HIT THANKS BUTTON IF IT HELPED YOU IT COST YOU NOTHING
Hello, I have a full backup created with ClockWork Mod Recovery, I want to go back to Stock Froyo, would be a problem just to flash the backup again? thanks!
No problem, just do wipe data/cache and wipe dalvik before restoring backup.
Sent from my MB525 using xda app-developers app
make sure you have froyo kernel restored before flashing back to froyo, in case you got defy+ cm9 build on red lens
Actually I created the backup with System Recovery when I was on Froyo, now that I want to go back to it from CM9, I turn off the phone, press volume down + power and it shows me "android system recovery" but I don't see wipe dalvik, just wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition and there is no advanced option to look for dalvik, is this original recovery or clockwork? thanks!
Thats the Motorola Recovery
You need to power up your phone and once you see the blue led blinking press the vol down button
Then go to recovery advanced, there you can also make a nandroid backup
Thanks! Didn't know about that one, however, I can't find any option where to load my nandroid backup, I have my backup on the sdcard root, and the folder structure of the backup is:
goapkrev -> backup -> 'backup date' -> the img files and such
If I go to Custom recovery -> Restore(System and data) or Custom Recovery -> Advanced Restore it says that it does not find any files, but the backup is there, should I change the folder name to another or taking the files out of some of the folders? thanks in advanced!!
EDIT: Got it! I just had to change the folder name from goapkrev to clockworkmod, thanks!
How can I restore the backup of the rom that I did?
I I did the backup in 2 ways.
1. In Philz Recovery -> Clone rom
2. With Rom Manager
But I can't restore cause...
1. In Philz Recovery -> Applying the backup of the rom didn't work. The processs is so fast and nothing changes...
2. In Rom Manager -> The phone reboot in Philz Recovery and when starts to install the rom, appears some error about MD5 file.
So what to do?
Did you do Nandroid backup? In Philz recovery...backup and restore....backup to SD card1 ? If not you don't have a backup.
