Really considering selling my atrix for a Sgs2 - Atrix 4G General

Please convince me not to do this! I've been really thinking about doing it ='(
I want a better camera , gingerbread , and I heard the gs2 has a better display

i don't understand why you need us to convince you to keep something. it's your own decision. if you want the SGS2, then get it. if you're happy with your atrix, then keep it. we all have different opinions and decisions. make your own, honestly.

I would trade mine in a heartbeat if this bootloader doesn't get unlocked. I am getting sick of the Motorola drama.

Any ideas on a good place to sell the Atrix and buy the SGS2 (or the Samsung Attain which will be the AT&T version of the SGS2)? I'm new on eBay so I'm a little worried that buyers wouldn't buy from me because I don't have any feedback. Any other options?

Think about it, try out the GSII if you are able, look at the dev threads and maybe wait a few weeks to see what the situation is for the Atrix compared to it. I know I certainly will consider it if/when the GSII comes to AT&T.
EDIT: Only other place I can think of is Craigslist. If you post plenty of pictures and a detailed description, that will help.

Just keep it and wait till the next Nexus comes out and then sell it

This is what you should do.
Also the processor and GPU on the Atrix is better than the one on the SGSII. When the Atrix gets 2.3 it will do circles around the SGSII.
There are only 2 things that will pull me towards an SGSII
1. Unlocked bootloader (this likely going to be locked when it comes to AT&T)
2. Super Amoled screen
If those are important to you go get it if not keep the atrix. The dev section is booming we might get the bootloader unlocked.

BYE!

I've got both handsets and to be honest the grass isn't necessarily greener on the SGS II side. Geez its a nice handset though, but I still believe 4" is the best size. I've found that the SGS II has a very plastic feel, and the back cover is so thin. I've been in a few situations where I've accidently sat down with the Atrix in my back pocket, and its survived easily, but I worry about doing the same with the SGS II. The SGS II probably isn't the phone I would take out drinking with the boys on a Friday night - I'm sure I would easily break it.
If you're looking for a speed comparison between Gingerbread handsets, it runs just as smooth on the SGS II as it does on my Nexus S (yes I also have the NS). There's no real difference between them IMO, (even though the Nexus S is single core). Where the SGS II shines is in having numerous widgets going and live wall papers at the same time - and although the lag is still there in momentary milliseconds, its no where as bad as the Atrix with live wallpapers going with Android 2.2. I think this is where Gingerbread shines though - and I'm sure the Atrix will perform similar when it gets Gingerbread. Its this very reason why, although I've been tempted to sell the Atrix as well, I'm prepared to hang onto it until it gets 2.3.
Damage wise, I've found the Atrix is easier to fix. For example, I dropped my Atrix onto my concrete driveway from low height and damaged the corners of the back cover - However, the cover was easily replaced by one from www.cnn.cn. As you know, the cover on the Atrix covers the corners, so when you replace the back cover, its all fixed. The SGS II isn't the same. If you drop it on the corners, you need to replace the entire body..! I'm not looking forward to this..
I think other than the shear size of the SGS II being a negative for me, I really wish the SGS II had qHD screen resolution. 800x480 at 4.3" on the SGS II is just bad IMO, although maybe if I hadn't gone from the Atrix to the SGS II, I wouldn't have cared. I feel I have been spoilt by the qHD though, especially when I view high resolution photos I've taken with my Canon 5D Mk II DSLR - on the SGS II, the sub-pixelation is a killer...
My 2 cents

I don't give a ****, and I don't know who else does. I'm sick of all these idiots thinking people care that "I sold my Atrix" or "Traded Atrix for Nexus S" or "Atrix or Wait for SG2" and the post that you just made, young sir, is no better. Look it up and make your own opinion, for God's sake. Normally I would agree with this school of thought, but the SG2 is a $600-$900 phone to just "Jump into".
The Atrix unlocked is not cheap either.
It's nice to hear other people's input since XDA is a "community" that tries to help others.
Sure you can read reviews in Samsung's forum, but to hear it from somebody in here gives you more perspective.
Sure I've seen multiple threads about this, "and wish it was all in one neat thread", but if Motorola got their act together (especially for Bell users) this **** wouldn't be happening as much...

LOL! All I could think of was this:
“I command ye, therefore, upon the peril of your lives, to depart immediately out of this place! Take away that shining bauble there, and lock up the doors. You have sat here too long for the good you do. In the name of God, go!”

@cheetah2k Thanks for the great writeup!
Everyday to and from work, I think about making the switch myself. I've had the Bell Atrix for over a month, and have probably used it for half the time. My Motorola Milestone is kicking it's ass right now and that's not sitting well with me.
^ (still have a capped device with no Stock SBF and Adfree still doesn't work)
The only thing that still keeps me holding on is hoping that Gingerbread actually fixes this device, and that I get the "Telus Fascinate" experience again.
^Basically I had the same garbage issues with the Fascinate on Eclair, but Froyo almost fixed everything. Sadly GPS was still broken, but the phone was way better than before.
Last week I actually wiped my Atrix and almost sold it, but after reading about some of the bugs on the SGII it's bought me a little bit more time.
Hardware and form factor wise the Atrix is PERFECT, but it's like using a Core 2 Duo PC running on 98/Me. Part of me still doesn't trust Motorola, and the support on their forums blows right now, but the phone has so much potential in front of it.
If the Galaxy S II didn't have so many dead pixel units reported, I would have pulled the trigger a long time ago and pitted the 2 phones against each other. For now I'm just waiting for the SG2 to either come down in price, or Moto to give us an "official" timetable of when Gingerbread is gonna be rolled out (including the forgotten Bell units)...

+1 for cheetah2k, a good seemingly unbiased comparison. I think its best that I stick with the Atrix because of the things it still has that the SGS2 doesn't, like qHD and the awesome fingerprint sensor. Plus, it'll probably be a little while before the SGS2 officially comes on AT&T, so I might as well just wait for the next Nexus. Thanks again, cheetah2k!

system update is really a issue constraining phone's spec
I bought atrix just for it is the first phone with 1ghz*2 +1g ram
but I'm now considering to replace it with a next-g nexus
for it is branded by Google and always gets the latest version

Nexus S stands for sucky!!!!!

When I saw a picture of the Nexus S, I thought, what a ugly phone. Then, I saw that it's made by Samsung, nothing against Samsung but to me their phones are cheap The phone doesn't deserve the Nexus name. IMO HTC makes the best phones. I have three friends that have Galaxy S's, and their always asking me for my N1, to use my navigation, and make phone calls, because they're always losing their signal, and their GPS is screwy, plus they have ****ty battery life, so they live on their chargers. I keep telling them to root, but they want me to do it for them, I stopped rooting peoples phones who refuse to educate themselves about rooting, because they're always calling you with problems, because they don't understand. Another thing, I was thinking about buying the Evo, but my friend has it and the resolution is crap, the colors are dull, almost to the point of transparency, I think HTC focused too much on having the biggest screen, so I won't be buying that crap, I thought that all the high-end android devices after the N1 would blow us out, but have done nothing except confirm that I made the right choice with my Sexy Nexy, so we'll be together a little while longer. I thought the N2 would go in the direction of the Desire look, that's a classy phone, that has a professional look for older gents like myself, I'm very disappointed that Google gave Samsung the contract.

hmm yeah that will be it. so samsungs crappy build is no longer a concern.
the "ill never buy a samdung" brigade have scuttled back under there rocks.
Is it possible its something as simple as google wanting to continue use of a amoled screen capable phone for dev. phone purposes? I mean thats one of the main interest points ive noticed when anyone sees my N1. Everyone says "wow the screen is so crisp". Seeing how samsung took amoled away from everyone else just kind of makes sense on googles part if that be the case.
Nothing against HTC, they make great phones but i just wonder if use of amoled is more paramount than most give credit for. Look at it this way, all phone makers can more or less make the same kind of phones hardware wise. Only difference being is samsungs ability to use amoled. Just a thought , nothing more.
i read on here that HTC said the N1 would be thier first and last phone designed for a non carrier and that is why google had to go else where. I'd have prefered motorola, but samsung is an ok 2nd choice. HTC would obviously have been my first but they are out of the question. All i really care about is vanilla android with updates from google, a nice sized screen, good hardware, and a nice design.
the nexus S has all of the above minus the nice design...but it has helped me realize that the design weights a lot more in my purchasing decision than I had previously thought. I dont see myself buying a nexus s if it looks like the leaks orion processor or not

Ok, I'm just going to say it...

It took them this long to get FroYo out on ANY versions of Galaxy S hardware, we're all still on test builds... and they have Gingerbread running on the Nexus S... which is a freaking Galaxy S with a curved glass screen and NFC, a NEW piece of hardware.
So, Samsung is launch partner for Nexus S, first manufacturer with hands on Gingerbread, top in sales this year for Android, and spending millions to upgrade their phones...
Anyone wanna tell me why the f all Galaxy S phones aren't getting upgraded straight to gingerbread, before any of the other phones have a chance? Seems like they missed a boneheadedly obvious way to stage a coup on the hearts and minds of us loyal fans. Freaking Public Relations FAIL.
And I'll probably get flamed for this, and probably correctly, but just figured I'll be honest:
Last week I sold my epic and went back to Verizon, and got the Incredible. I miss the 4" screen, the ease of typing, the 4g, and the ability to easily wow people. And the Dinc's camera isn't as good.
But I don't regret it. I feel like my GS time was that of a first adopter. I paid for the wow. Since going back to DInc, I don't have as much wow time, but you know what? My GPS works as soon as I open GMaps. I don't need a hack to fix anything. My battery is only 1300mah, and doesnt last all day, but it never freaks out and drains while its asleep, or drains in two hours.
If this sounds like a rant, it's not. I loved the Epic, and the Vibrant I had first. The screen is amazing, and I waited since the HD2 for a phone bigger than 3.7 but smaller than 4.3. Samsung just needs to step up its validation, and it's support systems. The legion of Iphone fans aren't going to stick with any phone that doesn't just work.

as im more likely to agree....im kind of wondering if there is a phone that does make you feel warm and fuzzy, its probally cancer, herpes, or mono. you might just wanna stick with a good phone and leave the warm and fuzzies to the adult bookstores
Now I'll be honest. I think what you spewed is complete garbage. I'm running dk28 with no issues. I didn't have issues with eclair after the updated it to fix the "capped upload" issue. So I CHOSE to update it, I didn't have to...
I don't know how someone can possibly be so impatient that they'd run away crying like a 12 year old girl with a skinned knee for an update that hasn't even had a official release date given for it (that I've ever seen anyway). So, your impatience is not a sprint/samsung issue. It's a you issue. But I guess people like you would rather throw out a buggy update to shut whiners like you up. But then I'll guarantee that'd warrant another post from you crying about it. Maybe in the themes/apps section this time?
With that being said, since you obviously don't understand forum ediquette, I'm also left to assume you screwed something up when you flashed unsupported software to your phone by not follwing instructions, or whatever the case is. And AGAIN this is something that's you're fault, not sprint/samsung.
So yeah... The devs here made my phone a lot more of a pleasure to use. But it was a great device out of the box. The best I've owned so far by a long shot.
And if you want everything to work %100 why would you flash leaked software anyway?

Trevor, wrong section but since it's already here I must say it's definitely a justified rant. I've personally never really had an issue with those problems because I expect them to happen when I change it from stock, but I suppose I'm the minority. A friend and I had a conversation a week ago and believed because of the Nexus S that it would be in Samsungs best interest to just release the Vanilla version of each release to the carriers and let us pick and choose which bloatware we'd like, much like what we currently do with the ROMS. It would definitely feed the 3rd party developments as well as enhance what makes the Android platform wonderful.
With that said, try to post in the right section next time =)
So OP has a DInc now? He's going to be pissing and moaning when the Galaxy S series gets Gingerbread before his phone (thank you Nexus S). I hope the DInc forum goers are extremely tolerant..

Not Quite the Experience I Had Hoped For...

Hey guys,
I posted this in response to another forum post, but I wanted to get other people's opinions, as well:
Unfortunately, I am returning my Atrix tonight as well - day 27 of purchase. This is my first Android phone but I feel like I'm missing out on some of the best aspects of the XDA community and features of Android, in general. I like the Atrix, but not enough to keep it for two years on contract with most likely very meager updating by Motorola in the future. I also have some gripes about the hardware.
I consider this my introductory Android experience and absolutely love the OS. I love it so much, that I want to be able to experience more of it!
Since I sold my iPhone 4 (for a nice profit!), I will be using an old school Razr until something of interest comes along. The Inspire does not seem to warrant the use of my upgrade eligibility.
Also debating jumping ship altogether from AT&T. This whole HSPA thing, while not a deal breaker, certainly left a very bitter taste in my mouth. I have recently found AT&T store reps to be uninformed and fairly rude, especially on the phone. I have been a loyal customer since 2000.
I hope that the current locking trend we've seen from HTC and Motorola is not a sure sign of the future of Android. One of the main reasons I left my iPhone behind was because I enjoy tinkering with my phone a lot, and the Android OS is so well suited for it!
It seems like developer support is a key factor in ensuring the longevity of a device, far after the hardware company has moved on. I don't like to buy phones continuously off contract and I would like to ensure that my phone stays developmentally relevant for the duration off my contract.
This may not be the proper forum for this response, but I just felt the need to vent and am interested in hearing what you guys have to say. Not trying to bad-mouth the Atrix for those who like it, it's just not quite the Android experience I hoped for.
See you guys around XDA!!!
I'll second that
About the only thing the Atrix has going for it is the dual-core Tegra2. (being rant) Other than that, it's a piece of junk compared to cheaper phones, and what software even uses the dual-core feature? Faster browsing my a**! My iPhone 3gs had smoother and faster browsing! The screen sucks--yeah, it's got qHD, but with zig-zagged subpixels and a crappy response time, not to mention the darkest it gets is too bright and the brightest it gets is too dark. Bugs everywhere, if I leave the phone on for a day I stop getting text messages or data. I've never been able to get a google voice voicemail to play on my phone. I can't decline an update, I've been keeping the WiFi off for the last few days just to avoid it. I agree totally that Android is a nice OS, but I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for Motorola to give me something better than 2.2. (end rant)

How dare you make me defend my statements! ;-) So, regarding the browsing, I'm sure you've noticed that when you scroll with several images on the page the images lag begind the text. As far as loading is concerned, it's hard for me to say that it's not my network conditions, but my 3gs definitely seemed faster. After a little bit of research, I've found that other people complained of this too, but apparently you can change flash to "on-demand" to make general browsing lag-free (haven't confirmed this personally)
As far as the zig-zagged subpixels are concerned, it's a well known fact that Motorola used a pentile pixel matrix to cut costs. It's harder to tell with black on white, but look at any blue hyperlink on a white background, especially when zoomed out (image originally referenced from here).
The display response time has been noticed by others. I couldn't find any official specs to confirm this, but if I'm right that it's a problem then the lack of published response time specs wouldn't be surprising.
Data dropping out is also a well known issue. There's also a post on Motorola's support forum.
The brightness issue is subjective, but I've read a few places that the screen doesn't do to well in daylight. I'm not going to bother referencing this or my google voice problem, their just straws on the camel's back.
Finally, I'm not going to use some rumor that 2.3 is coming soon (how soon?) to push me past my 30-day return limit. Too arbitrary.
So, maybe you don't agree with everything I say, but I hope I just made it really hard for you to say you don't agree with anything I say while keeping a straight face

Hey guys,
I posted this in response to another forum post, but I wanted to get other people's opinions, as well:

I am actually a little unclear with what issues you have with the phone, most of this post just seems like you talking about liking the OS but not liking the AT&T service, HTC and motorola. You said very little about the phone itself.
to me it sounds like the best thing you should do is indeed jump ship from AT&T and go to verizon or something. As far as the "locking trend" from motorola and HTC.. i am assuming you are talking about the restrictions on sideloading and such. I may be wrong but i feel like this is an AT&T issue not motorola. Other providers that have HTC and Motorola dont seem to have as much issue (please correct me if i am wrong, i do not have too much experience with other providers) So dont worry this is not a sign of the future of android.
Sorry to hear you are not keeping the atrix, i have not had mine as long as you have but i love mine so far. Thanks for the input tho
I wasnt trying to write a post about my specific gripes with the Atrix, moreso I was trying to explain what I feel like I may be missing out on, with regards to Android.
I like HTC a lot, actually.

I gotcha. Didn't mean to change the mood of your thread, just felt like ranting since I wish I could tell myself to keep the Atrix. I'm going to return my Atrix and hold out for six months at least to see what else comes out. I'm hoping the Galaxy S II will hit AT&T, but I am a bit jealous of my friend who gets 5mb+ on his Verizon iPhone4.

I think threads like this should be moderated and closed.
To complain about little things like a bit of browser lag, etc - pretty much anything not related to the Atrix itself, is like WTF? Take it up with your carrier, don't blame the handset.
Who really cares if you want to take your Atrix back. Just do it, no need to tell the world about it..
For the record, I've had my Bell Canada Atrix now for a week, and I can't fault it. The last 3 phones I've owned have been HTC Desire HD, iPhone 4 and Nexus S - and other than the Nexus S's gorgeous SAMOLED screen, the Atrix kicks all of others hands down.

I love my captivate the Super AMOLED is amazing! but i feel like that is the only thing that beats the Atrix. Oh and the Captivate has a much better camera software.. but i shoot a DSLRs so it doesnt bother me.
Im thinking if AT&T gets the Galaxy S II, i might have to switch just cuz the Super AMOLED is AMAZING.

I will also return 'cause its superlocked bootloader, can't be overclocked to thousands Ghz, can't install 3 roms one on top of each other and I can see the pixels of that pentile screen with my left eye. I just now realize that I don't really need a phone :-o

OMG, I can't believe little things ever matter! Seriously, the purpose of a forum is for discussion, and this one seems very one sided--everyone who likes their Atrix is just making smartass comments (except zen kun, thanks for contributing to the discussion).
If you don't like open discussion, why don't you move to China?

Can someone remind me why I should not get the SGS II #neveragain

I was a big hater for Samsung due to their broken GPS (some fixes help but it's still broken), Samsung's denial of the GPS problem then their "the next update will fix it" NOT, slow software updates and RFS file system. I truly was #neveragain.
But all in all, I do like the SGS (our devs have helped with that). Screen is amazing, good cpu/gpu, nice storage, good camera. So why would I not consider the SGS II for my next phone? It has a better and bigger screen, blazing quick processor, new gps radio, no RFS.
My mind is saying #neveragain, get the G2X but the specs make me want forgive sammy and wait for the SGSII.
Oh, HTC Sensation is out if it has a locked bootloader.
Good question. I absolutely LOVE my SGS except for the GPS. When I let people hold it, they are amazed at the weight and i love the speed, screen response etc. Just pretty PO'd about the GPS. I have a work around but it takes between 10-15 for it to wake the heck up!

If your mind says G2x than go for it. It does however have problems of its own at the moment. The common feeling around here these days is that Samsung seems to have learned from their mistake and are trying harder. Only time will tell for sure. If you dont wana wait for it get the G2x and hope the problems are cleared up soon. Worst comes to worst you can sell it and put that money towards the SGS2 when it finally comes out.
I started #NeverAgain
I would absolutely get the SGS2. The phone will be amazing.
All manufacturers have their issues, Samsung proved they would listen (they really did, trust me). They havent shown any signs of locking bootloaders and hopefully they continue improving with releasing source.
Timely updates is not their thing.
It also looks like an iPhone. Yuck (my opinion), only b/c everytime I look at it that's what I would think about.
get the international version so you can update faster.

I don't know anymore after reading engadget's review. They said it's the best smartphone they've ever tested.
If engadget says that an they are hard to impress look at all of the reviews lately low an they said ever so I am most deff getting jus need one for tmo

The galaxy s2 seems like it owns the g2x. In most reviews ive read like they say the battery life lasts 2 days with heavy use. That's ridiculous. And the GPS is fixed on the sgs2. Hell its even fixed on the galaxy s 4g which is what i have. And the screen looks amazing. 4.3 inch super amoled plus. keep in mind the g2x has many issues like major screen bleed and horrible battery drain in standby mode.

Everyone cries about SGS being this and that, but it is one of the best phones on the market to date. Yes the GPS was flaky, but try the New G2x or any other of the phones and you will find lots of problems...... me ? I am waiting for the S-2 it will be better and it will be the hardware I am looking for, I really never cared about any of the operating systems...... they all suck one way or another. So, as long as the hardware is good, then Ill just load my own custon stuff and I am happy........ people whine too much and really expect perfection when there is not any anywhere in this world.............
I'm going to wait till the SGS II is out for a couple of months before I decide.
I jumped on the Vibrant on the first day it was released, but if I had known what I now know about the Vibrant, I'm not sure I would have gotten it.
So how will/is the build quality? Is it plastic, like ours, or more solid like htc phones?
Do we know how the processor compares to what will be in the htc Sensation or the Tegra 2's that are out?
duel core, 4.3" screen, 1gb of ram seem awesome, but is the phone able to actually effectively use all that power, or has the hardware been hindered by the software/code writing like our Vibrants were?
Thanks for any responses, just trying to get more info
Plastic, but apparently very good still. As mentioned before, Engadget thinks it might be the best smartphone ever.

SGS II is my next phone!
Sent from my SGH-T959: Trigger 3.0.1, Overstock 2.4.1
The SGS II looks like it will be the best phone on the market when it's released and I might just buy one even though my partial subsidy for a new phone likely won't have gone into effect when it's released.
I do think I'll wait a month or so before i take the plunge to see which of the Dev's pick one up and begin customizing ROM's for this phone. I like my Vibrant but that's in large part due to Sombionix, Eugene and Birgertime (to name a few) who have taken their time to brew up ROM's that make the Vibrant perform at or near it's full ability. Without them and the other Dev's I'd like this phone a LOT less...
i'll definitely consider the sgs2, but will wait and see how/when the release happens in the us first. i was unhappy about samsung's lack of updates, but overall i don't think a new phone has come out that is good enough to warrant me ditching my vibrant. sgs2 may be enough of a tech leap forward.

thanks for the response. good read. so samsung got rid of the RFS file system?
My plan: wait until a different SGSII hits each carrier, considering a different SGS hit each major (and minor) carrier the first time around. Wait a solid two months while monitoring the XDA forums. Determine which SGSII on which carrier has the most enthusiastic support from the developer community.
Purchase accordingly.
Because **** AT&T-Mobile. #noloyalty

that's part of my plan. i want to wait and see if they do the same dumb fragmentation thing with the us carriers or if we get a uniform release. if it's fragmented, i will see if i can get an international and if it works on tmob.
Hell yeah.
I'm getting one as soon as price of one (new or used) is under $500. My 1.5Ghz Vibrant is fast enough for the time being.

Selling my One X and buying a Galaxy S3.

I normally am one of them people who have a go at others for posting threads like this one but now since i am the one who is opening this thread now i know their reason why they do this.
I did get myself an early upgrade. HOX on a two year contract and very good deal i must say. But everyone knows about the problems the phone is having. If it is not software related it is the poor quality control that they do with the handsets. Anyways replaced my one 3 times and now it is getting repaired as we are speaking. I am more than likely going to get a replacement. But the first thing i am going to do is sell it. Why? Cause the S3 is ten times much better in my eyes and the way that Sammy handles there products is a million times better than HTC.
Although i will say Sense is ten times better than TouchWiz i feel that TW feels more liter and more smoother compare to Sense. Second let us not kid ourselves. The S3 will have the biggest development support ever seen on a handset. My opinion that is. And most importantly it will have the support of my favorite rom. CM9. So ladies and gents to end this i will like to say Goodbye One X and hello to the best freaking phone in the world the Galaxy S3..Daddy is coming home
Apologies for my over enthusiasm but i really tried to love that phone the One X but being the flashoholic that i am and wanting to try every single rom that i can see and all the different mods and kernels and not have to worry about fastboot or a freaking damn S-OFF to wait for the Sammy is the business and the one for me. Apologies to all and i really can not wait to join you all and start helping out others here and make this the best damn forum on xda
Aw ur leaving lol traitor
Jk...I'm probably gonna leave the one x soon too. Just not to Sgs3, will go back to Sammy soon enough, maybe their next nexus if its best. Jelly bean is so close it doesnt seem reasonable to get another ics device.

man i had enough of that phone...brilliant but way to damn complicated with regards to flashing stuff and updating stock roms....what on earth is the whole RUU's and boot.imgs and other malarchy..i know what they are but still it is not the straight forward stick it on recovery and flash it thing..same with the modems...i prefer it the sammy way. i did give a go but as i said above nothing but trouble...by the time the next Nexus comes out will be October November the latest. So the S3 is the one for me my friend. Man i can not wait to get my hands on it
EDIT: people over there really starting getting on my nerves and to many egos and divas going on around there..Devs thinking that they are better than others and thinking that they are better than others by not sharing work kinda really annoys me...We are using android after all and i thought this community was all about sharing and not competition..Hence why i love being back to Sammy cause the devs here are out of this world..And my favourite rom is coming along and i can not wait to flash it
Yea I hate this ruu crap. After having the gn I think nexus devices might just be the best all around in terms of experience. Now that there's gonna be 5 manufacturers even better for more choice and perfect match.
As for the dev stuff, yea I kinda know what you mean but you can't control it. I know the tmobile Sgs2 was one of the worst communities according to people and the absolute worst. The one x is alright, s-off would be ideal.

i just feel people over the One X side like to make things difficult for themselves and to many noobs over there for my liking...And well i just do not like the way people are going about their business specially few devs who think they are better than others and act like Divas.
Nexus is good and the ultimate phone and i feel the new one will be better than the previous versions..but i am really itching for the s3...but let me get my other back first and more than likely looking at a brand new One X so as soon as i get it it is going on ebay for sale

Other than the damn power button on top, most of my issues are software related. I'm sure they will get it worked out. Heck the bootloader was unlocked today, so there goes that concern.
There's just a ton of little things that draw me to the SGSIII anyway. And I've had the SGSI, II, and Gnex.
(ok, I'm a Samsung fanboy, but hey they are on top right now?)

nothing wrong in liking a brand that you are familiar with. i will see how the s3 goes in the next few weeks and once i sell the one x i am going to buy the phone regardless..and the only thing that is drawing me towards the s3 is the how easy to root and flash things on this phone instead of the one x. that alone is a beneficial factor with the unlocked bootloader and no s-off business
