no tri colour bootloader anymore ?? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hello everybody!
I have installed android froyo on my htc hd2 and i am using my phone serval months whitout any problems till yesterday.
My phone was responding really slow. So i reset my phone and now it seems te get stuck on the startup logo van android. So i decided to wipe al the data of my phone and get a fresh instal.
But now i cant get into the tri colour boot loader when i hold my power button and volumdown it just boot to magldr 1.13
In magldr the only things that work is
USB Flasher
USB massStg (voor only a couple of minuts)
Tetris
Ad recovery wont start also it get stuck on the GOGOGO moment
So what can i do next ? I have installed the rom in a GOOD way an suddenly my phone is bricked ?

maybe is broken vol down key or push harder

This looks like a nand corruption to me and if true you'll have to change main board.
Or it could be heat issue. You can find out if its heat issue by leaving the phone in the freezer for 10mins(seal with plastic bag, prevents it from getting wet), shortly after try to get into spl, if you can enter spl. and your phones is under warranty, flash your stock rom(I thinks stock roms revert back to original spl), and stock radio then sent it to HTC for repair/replacement asap.
If its nand corruption and you can't get to spl, even if the phone is "under warranty" you're sh*t out of luck, since istaling hspl voids your warranty. I hope that's not your case (assuming your phone is still under warranty, that is)
Good luck

Now i cant seem to do anything with the phone, its not bricked as par say, it will show the loading screen and then not move and i can access the bootloader with voldwn+powerbutton but nothing else is happening, I cant load new roms nothing. Im pretty lost here and really need some help of how i can get my phone back onto a winmo6.5 rom so i can remember not to try it again
I posted this in this thread as it does relate to an android situation.

Find Task29.exe with no radio. It's on this site somewhere. You will see some with radios attached to them, so don't use those. Just the plain old no radio version. It will wipe your phones internal memory and you will basically be starting from scratch. Nothing will be on your phone after a Task29. Then go into bootloader. How to enter boot loader after Task29- Once Task29 hits 96% (looks just like you are flashing a rom), hold volume down and power from 96% until it gets to 100% and the tri color bootloader screen pops up. It should say "USB" at the bottom after bootloader comes up if you are plugged into your computer. Then Flash MAGLDR 1.11 again. Then flash your NAND build.
You aren't bricked if you phone powers on.
What operating system is on your PC?
Well it does boot and if you have hspl you did a good job. So if you have magdlr you now need to install Android. Read a guide plzzz!
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
OS on PC is....#sigh# windows vista ultimate
For task 29 do I have to have the phone connected via usb, because its not recognising it when its even in bootloader
task29.exe didnt work
Don't do task 29,you will just complicate your life even more than now. I don't think you know what you are doing.
You may brick your phone in the end do you have HSPL?

1st try entering the BOOTLOADER, by pressing the volume down power button simultaneously..!!!
Instead of TASK 29, try FLASHAHOLIC which will perform your TASK 29 & help you flash a WinMO 6.5 ROM as well..!!!
PS: - You can even flash custom ROM's, stock ROM's not compulsory..!!!

Well then re-install Active SYNC or try on a diff PC with Latest Active SYNC..!!!
If you can access your boot-loader your device ain't bricked..!!!
Just boot your phone with VolDown and enter USB mode, reflash MAGLDR 1.11, once this has completed reboot your phone and hold down the power button, you will then see the MAGLDR menu.
Then just follow instructions on how to install an nand rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948
it might just be the magldr or NAND ROM not flashed properly. If you can get to Tri-Color bootloader you are fine.
Found out the problem, thanks for all of your help guys, it was the fact i didnt have hspl2 installed....newb points to me
I have exactly the same problem only difference with my problem is when hold vol down and power buttons all I get is the tri coloured screen and nothing else no bootloader menu appears at all.
What can I do? Is my phn dead???

That's exactly what is supposed to happen if you hold the vol down button while switching on. To get to the magldr menu you need to hold the power button in until it boots to the menu (no vol down button )
You guys are awesome!
I've been avoiding dealing with this phone for a while. This post came up first on google search. Held power and volume (mag 1.11 was on it) and upgraded it to 1.13 and now I'm golden! Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[Q] device is dead, ROM corrupted?

Hello,
I have a problem with my HTC HD2. It won’t boot any more. The strange thing is that I didn’t update or install new software versions.
I install a couple month back a android version. And that runs without any problem. To install the android (NAND) I have to install MAGLDR 1.13 and HSPL2.08.
Now when is start my phone, it shows the start splash screen. And that's it.
When I try to get in the menu of MAGLDR, it shows the version, install or release date then the white line, and the nothing anymore.
I’m able to open the boot loader (volume down ->power) but when I connect the USB cable, with 2 sec the screen is turns back.
As last escape, I format an SD cart (FAT32 default block size and also again with blocksize of16kb ), place the official HTC 1.66 rom,(rename the file to LEOIMG.nbh)in the root of the SD cart. Start the boot loader, but nothing happened.
I get the feeling that my ROM is completely corrupted. But I don’t know how to fix this anymore.
And now I hope that someone has a good idea that I can try to fix my phone.
Thanks.

The LEOIMG.nbh file that you placed in your SD card, did you place with it an RUU?
Are you sure your battery is not just dead? The thing about MAGLDR just showing the top art of the screen is kind of confusing though.
I know thos sounds completely crazy, but I would npt mention it if if wasn't for other members here having luck doing this. Get the LEOIMG.nbh file copied to the root of your SD card and ready to go. take and place your HD2 in a plastic bag that you can seal. Then put your HD2 in the freezer for like 15 to 20 minutes and then take it out. As soon as you take it out of the freezer boot it to bootloader and flash the ROM. If it works you may have saved it bit you will have to let it warm back up before you will know. If it does not mess up again after warming up you may not have a hardware problem what I kinda feel like is you have something wrong with your HSPL and thos is why MAGLDR is not fully booting up and if MAGLSR can not boot up your Android ROM will not boot up as MAGLDR is what boots the ROM. HSPL is what boots MAGLDR. TAhe freezer trick has helped people with stuck radios get a stock ROM flashed and people with overheating and processor connections to get a stock ROM flashed. I think it might help you too but I don't thinl you have hardware troubles as much as I do HSPL troubles. If the ROm flashes it will revert you to stock SPL but your SPL will be good again.
Hello,
I'm sure that the battery is in a good condition. a friend of my has the same phone. i try his battery and cable to be sure, and on my phone nothing works.
my battery in his phone, everything works.
i extract from the HTC original ROM update, the the rom file "RUU_signed.nbh". And that file i place on the SD cart. i rename the file to LEOIMG.nbh.
Is this the correct way?
i will try the freezer, i will let you know.
thanks for your response.
Hello
I put my phone in the freeze for 4 episodes of the big bang theory. Forget my phone..
But I can tell you that it was very cold to handle…
When I turn my phone on, directly start the bootloader. Then I start the update with the last original HTC HD2 rom. And that was successful finished. It works, and I didn’t thought that.
When it restart it shows the withe HTC splash screen and the radio version . but windows mobile wasn’t stated. Restart the device again, and now only the with HTC splash screen is showed.
I thing that my device is defect, and have to choice a mobile freezer or new device.
Thank..

Yeah sounds like you probably need a new main board.

[Q] How to revive stuck HD2, when VOL- not working

Hi
I just borrowed a vater-damaged HD2 from a mate, so I could use it as a "Lab-rat". But one of it's damages was, that the volume- didn't work.
So to get the phone in boot-loader mode, I started an Officel ROM upgrade, and as soon as the phone started in boot-loader mode, I unplugged the USB cable, forced exited the update, re-plugged the USB cable and installed HSPL 2.08.
Booted to WINMO6.5 again, started the ROM upgrade again, installed the MAGLDR 1.13.
Now the phone just boots the white background with the green HTC logo, and just stalls there.
What can I do? - I can't get the phone into bootloader again as the VOL- aint working.
Anyone any idears?
Regards Lars Mortensen
Well... now the only thing you can do is fix that button. There is no other way around to get into bootloader (except for that WinMo enterbootloader.exe thing). And you can't flash anything without it.

[Q] Can't install anything, maybe bricked?

OK. It's not me who have the problem and I may not provide you enough information. However, I will try as much as I can to get the info from the man who has the problem.
A friend of mine got an used HD2, with stock WinMo. The fist thing he did was of course hard-reset it. Aaand the system got ****ed up. He couldn't boot it sometimes (had a grey screen, he said with some weird text under, like Boot_W_PWE_KEY_PRESSED or BOOTUP_W_WARM_RESET after trying to install sth, few times it managed to boot up but lagged so much). I ignored it and wanted to do task29, radio, magldr, android. First thing - HSPL. Downloaded HSPL4, installed HSPL 2.08 fine. Then - Task29 + Radio. And nothing. ROM Code Error. After few tries, HTC logo and progress bar showed up. Task29 is stuck on 96% though and then displays an exclamation mark in a triangle.
After a restart, grey screen is still present.
We can't install magldr as well (dat error again).
What could go wrong?
try use HSPL3 cuz HSPL4 is for wp7 mango but not for HD2 Leo

You need to study more.
OK, so we managed to install magldr on 11th? try and on 21st try we managed to boot Android from SD.
I'm pretty sure that NAND is damaged (NAND Android and WP7 couldn't boot at all, 1E FATAL HIT, same was with Android SD, but after many tries it booted), but when the phone hangs up after trying to play Angry Birds (so much that only thing he could do was to pull out the battery) and sometimes hangs up just for a while without a particular reason means that something else is damaged as well?
Boot loader
Has he tried booting into the boot loader.
Hold the down volume button and the power key at the same time.
If he gets a multi-colored screen then he is not bricked.
By 'bricked' I mean unusable because of physical damage that doesn't allow to run the phone properly.
Oh. Also he managed to install and boot WP7. It will return a 'Fatal hit' if it won't have enough break without a battey. It boots only after few mins turned off (which makes installing cabs almost impossible D: )... It was bought used, I think it had fallen and few more components were damaged...

stuck on tri color boot screen..help

I have a strange problem that my hd2 cannot pass the tri color boot screen, even i have replaced the buttons, as i doubted them to causing the problem.
I was previously running android on magldr and it suddenly crashed, since then, i am stuck on tri color. i ve reverted back to the stock from computer and from sd but still the same. Reverting back to hspl2.08, installed many things like task29, clk, mag, custom wm6.5, everything goes fine installation, but the damn cannot boot into any os. I am stuck at tri color screen.
one thing i have noticed that even after i install stock wm6.5, it automatically boots to tri color when connected to a charger, while it is not supposed to do so when mag is removed with task 29 and stock wm or custom.
I am advanced user and have used hd2 for 2 years and i know things like stock and spl and all that. Well i have Tmous with hspl2.08 and radio 2.14.50.
i think this is magldr related issue(since it is booting directly when a charger is connected).
Plz help....i dont want to miss this awesome device while another one of mine is complete brick dead.
.
.
.or is there any command in mtty to ingnore the tri color boot screen and let the os boot??
(note:downloaded the stock wm6.5 from tmous website and installed from computer running win 7 and also tried installing from sd..every installation goes perfect but do not boot)

No, I highly doubt it. While it's true that the boot-when-connected is a feature of MAGLDR, it does not conclude that MAGLDR is causing your issue.
I'd say not software related, performing tasks and installing various bootloaders won't fix this. You may have dropped your device and now the volume down rocker is stuck in.
The problem is that you said you changed the buttons, I hope you don't mean the volume buttons. You mean the interface buttons or the volume rockers?
If you had made sure that it's not hardware related, I am sorry I can't think of anything that would cause such an issue. Plus, I don't think your phone's crashing would affect the bootloader, at least not the spl.
Hey! Marvlesz is probably right..!! But if you make sure that your device has no hardware problems you may try what this person did when he had a fatal hit...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1633243 (looks like a long shot but worth a try if you have no hardware problems) But again, Marvlesz is probably right!

i changed the volume buttons, after i tried everything i can. Well it doesn't look like a software issue, it is hardware i think. i will try jtag soon. I am sure that vol down button is working fine, i never droped it.
