Hi everyone, I am a new user of X8. I have some troubles in using it. Please help me in these stuffes:
1. Image contacts appear in low resolution even I chose images with high resolution. Could I adjust them to higher resolution and make them look bigger on the screen while I make a call? How?
2. The light of screen automatically adjusts, lighter or darker when I use phone, that makes my eyes so uncomfortable. Can I disable this function? I found on this forum that it is sensor but I do not understand much.
Thank you for you reading and please help me.
1. Download 'FullScreen Caller'.
2. You need to modify hw_config file in system/etc if you want to turn off light sensor.
Firstly you need to root ur phone and next app like root explorer. Full instruction you can find in developer section here.

Can some one give me a detailed step by step way to change to background/wallpaper on the slide to unlock screen using the registry editor? I have tried several times and still have no idea how to do it. I know you have to put the image somewhere in either the GFX folder, or the Res folder. I just found a picture that was VGA resolution and bluetoothed it to my phone. Then i copied it and now where do i paste it? Once that is in how do i switch it from the default flower to my new image
Uh.....WOW! Anyone else can say what you will to my response here if you'd like, but I can't help it.
Looks like your using A_C's OLD OLD OLD locking app, it's now S2U2, the second version, not sure how you ended up with the old one, the new one is on the front page 90% of the time. Can I ask why you didn't bother asking in the thread you got the app from!!!!!! Use the new version with S2V!
I had the new version of S2U2, but the callerID only worked on some of my contacts and other it just showed the number not the name of the caller. Not sure why it only showed some of the contacts names and not others.
Just copy the wallpaper you want to use to the gfx folder of S2U2.Then rename it "wallpaper.jpg" & then soft-reset the device. Also be sure to set the appropriate wallpaper format in your S2U2 settings.
Use "s2v"
1. DEAR JUNIORS WHY DONT YOU POST IN S2U2-Thread ?????
HERE !!!!: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=381588
3. Are u blind ? :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398571
2. There IS NO VERSION 1.21 ??????????
3. USE S2V which has a wallpaper function for s2u2
DON'T ANSWER TO THIS THREAD!
Is there a reason why the CallerID only works sometimes on the HTC tilt, for some contacts? Is there a way to fix this problem?
last word: go to s2u2 thread ! are u a id.... ?
oh i forgot here is your answer !: http://www.i-am-bored.com/bored_link.cfm?link_id=24137
Hi all!
I've been searching these for an hour now....(just hope I've been doing that correctly...)
no clues though, so there it goes:
1.How can I change the file saving location in camera?
2.How can I change the file saving location when receiving beamed files?
Really hoping I am not being a great repetition...
Thank you!
You can change camera save location from the options of the camera to your sd card. However, I have not found a way to change the folder. It's always "/Storage Card/DCIM/100XPRIA/". There ARE in fact registry values which define this path, but changing them doesn't make the camera save to another location.

!! thank you...
silly I am, thought I had searched any menu and sub-menu ...apart from that one....even tried with advance configuration....
I don't thnk it would reasonable renaming folders though cos I believe the current set up helps other applications locating the photos-I think(ie pannel manager when running slide show panel)
Any ideas for the beamed files? SE officially says that this can not be changed.....

I BELIEVE if you use your custom bluetooth software (Such as Persian Blue) you MIGHT be able to set the destination.
There is a great App floating around here to allow you to save your bluetooth sent file Anywhere!!
Do a search for the HTC Bluetooth Inbox!!
Works great!!

I know JMZ made an awesome lockscreen changer (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=523812) but it isn't playing nice with my setup and keeps crashing so after trying it long enough, I've given up on the app.
Can someone tell me how to manually change the lockscreen image? Where do I place my image/name it and what resolution, etc should it be? Thanks.
go to Start>Settings>Today. at the bottom. place a check inside the box. andmap the background you want to use.

The Program he used makes the cab makes the image a manila file. I would suggest ask the OP for the original image.

Sorry, but this doesn't work to map the grey background of the lock screen...
If it works for others... please tell us how.. thanx
Alternative method
Hi all
An alternative method is to create an image file you want to use for your today and lock screen background. The format is .jpg. The portrait should be named:
stwater_480_800.jpg
and the Landscape named:
stwater_800_480.jpg
Copy these to a convenient folder on your device, e.g. My Documents. Then, using a more powerful file manager, e.g Total Commander, copy them to your \Windows folder, overwriting if prompted.
Cheers

Home Screen/Lock Screen Merge?
Hi Guys,
Does anyone know if you can set the home background image (in TF3D2) and the image for the lockscreen simultaneously? In other words, can you update both images at once (preferably by selecting it from the "Settings" tab in TF3D2)? Is there a .CAB of some sort? ANY help would be appreciated. ANY help at all!
Thanks a bunch!

Ruler?
In all seriousness, get a program called MyMobiler (http://www.mymobiler.com/) which allows you to control your phone from your pc - and it can take screenshots. Take one, then measure the distance in pixels in photoshop or similar.
What do you mean ? Of course can I make a screenshot but thats not the problem...
Ooops, you said "change", I thought you wanted to measure it, sorry.
I don't know how to change the space just in the File explorer, but i do know that some themes out there can change the space between the items througout the system.
For example Starry night theme does just that along with better looking buttons and check boxes. It can also be installed on WM 6.5 and not just 6.5.3.
Hope that helps.
Hi there. Apologies if this question has been asked and answered, however I have searched the threads and not found anything.
I'm also a bit new to windows mobile devices, etc and don't even know how to 'tweak'!! .... so please humour me
All I'm looking to do is try to hide certain photos / pictures from being shown in the HTC Album.
If anyone could point me in the right direction then that would be greatly apreciated!
Thanks.
First of all, welcome to xda
Anyway, you can't stop specific images showing up in the album, but you can stop specific folders from showing up.
See tip 64 in the hints & tips link in my signature.
You'll need a registry editor, such as Resco or Total Commander (I use the latter because it's totally free, but Resco is a lot more finger friendly).
That's all you need to do it, but I guess you may need some help editing the registry. There's tons of threads in here telling you how to edit the registry, and you really should read as much of it as you can before you start. The registry is pretty darn important to windows and all applications running under it, and you can render your device near useless if you do something badly wrong. (This is unlikely, but definitely possible. I could tell you 1 registry value to change and you wouldn't be able to use your phone again without a factory reset!)
I'd highly recommend taking a backup of any registry values that you're going to modify, even if it's just pen and paper backups so you can set the values back later if you so wish.
Other than that, have fun tweaking. That link has MANY more tweaks in it, so have a read through it. It's a great place to start.
Hope this helps
Thanks for the reply. I'll have a look through the other threads as you've suggested, although I'm not too sure I trust myself that much!
I picked up on another article I found on the web, which seems to suggest that its possible to hide individual pictures? Copied below...
Note: Additionally, if you want to hide a specific picture, just set its attributes to hidden and it will not be shown in the Album application. Do that for all individual pictures you want to keep from the program.
easy. install resco file explorer. choose pic or any file u wanna hide. menu/properties nd check hidden. this way they wont show in album. default explorer cant hide. also u can choose encrypt in resco nd this way they will b hidden from album nd need a password if u try to open them in explorer. good software.
