Save photos/beamed files in memory card - XPERIA X1 General

Hi all!
I've been searching these for an hour now....(just hope I've been doing that correctly...)
no clues though, so there it goes:
1.How can I change the file saving location in camera?
2.How can I change the file saving location when receiving beamed files?
Really hoping I am not being a great repetition...
Thank you!

You can change camera save location from the options of the camera to your sd card. However, I have not found a way to change the folder. It's always "/Storage Card/DCIM/100XPRIA/". There ARE in fact registry values which define this path, but changing them doesn't make the camera save to another location.

!! thank you...
silly I am, thought I had searched any menu and sub-menu ...apart from that one....even tried with advance configuration....
I don't thnk it would reasonable renaming folders though cos I believe the current set up helps other applications locating the photos-I think(ie pannel manager when running slide show panel)
Any ideas for the beamed files? SE officially says that this can not be changed.....

I BELIEVE if you use your custom bluetooth software (Such as Persian Blue) you MIGHT be able to set the destination.

There is a great App floating around here to allow you to save your bluetooth sent file Anywhere!!
Do a search for the HTC Bluetooth Inbox!!
Works great!!

As I said, I give up.
A mate just sent me a file via blutooth. I know I recieved it, because the Exec told me so.
Where the hell do these files go to though? I can't find it anywhere.
Hope someone can give me a clue, and is there anyway of setting the location for these files as the storage card?
TIA

Yes, already tried that thanks. I've checked all the My docs files.
Still nothing
Any more ideas
Cheers
Try to find Dr.Yar's bluetooth Manager, it gives you the option to set your bluetooth directory...
goto my documents, hit menu, then hit show all

Already selected, still no good. Thanks any way.
Does anyone know the default storage location for BT files?
TIA
Mav
The default location *is* My Documents in the main storage. Perhaps you are looking on your SD card?
Unless you have something installed that's changed the location, or you have changed the registry entry, that's where it goes on every device with the Microsoft stack.

TF3D photos tab keeps losing favourite folder

I have a problem where I have a folder on my storage card set as favourite on the photo tab in TF3D so I can see the pictures on the tab. When I create an activesync connection on disk mode and then disconnect the tab loses the favourite folder and so I have to re assign it through the album>select folders. If anyone knows of a fix for this I would be most grateful if they could share
same thing happens here, i'm thinking maybe changing the default location in adv cfg would impact the tf3d setting... gotta try that

Tried all of that, makes no difference. Must say I'm surprised this doesn't annoy the hell out of others.
You have to edit following registry key without running TF3D:
HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCAlbum\favorite_folder
For Standard Folder of the X1´s Camera it is:
\Speicherkarte\DCIM\100XPRIA
Just found this out today
Nice find. Changed mine to \Storage Card\DCIM\100XPRIA and it works great.

thanks i tried the change but the key simply reverts back to a value of [CAMERA] once you connect to a PC in disk mode. So i'm afraid it does not solve the problem
that´s right it doesn´t solve the problem
sorry but i guessed i found the solution.
i had to reset my device for an installation - and now it is the same as before [camera]
maybe it is an issue of the manilla-version.
the one i had before has not loose the own images...
well, i´ll try it with another manilla/tf3d-version now
Hi everybody,
i did a try with the TF3DHDB2.cab - and it works for a few seconds...
You have to edit following registry key without running TF3D:
HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCAlbum\favorite_folder
For Standard Folder of the X1´s Camera it is:
\Speicherkarte\DCIM\100XPRIA
To test the functionality i have often changed pannel, and did 5 resets of my X1.
This will be therefore only a solution if you use the TF3D above.
But if you will connect in usb-mode to the pc or any other device it will reset...
And you will have set to Active Sync Mode again before edit the registry..
... to be continued ...
I have found a bit of a work around to this. GO into album and Set 'all' as favourite. Any photos that you do not want to appear in the tab mark each file as 'hidden' using resco explorer. This way you will get to see the pictures you want showing on the tab. It sticks even after you connect and disconnect in disk mode

Saving Files to the Touch HD via Bluetooth

Guys,
My apologies if this has been covered but I'd like to know if there is a fix, trick, or software you can recommend that will allow me to save files to a particular area.
Maybe I am missing something (unfortunately at the moment I don't have much time/resources to go hunting for the answer myself) but whenever I save a file via Bluetooth it gets saved to some remote part on the My Device/Windows.
I then have to perform a search to find out where the file has been saved to.
Obviously there is a simple solution to this and again I apologies in advance but can someone point me in the right direction.
Cheers.
Go to Settings, Connections, OBEX Inbox and change there.
I have attached the cab if you don't already have this installed.

Does the dialog box for choosing the destination directory appear on your Touch HD when you press the "..." button?
It doesn't appear on my Touch HD, but it will appear fine on my HP 6828 (320x240, WM6.1).

TD2 camera: Date & Time filename

Hi all. I've been trying to find any posts on how to change the TD2's default photo filenames to date & time. It's so much better than the default 'IMAGE0001' and so on which says nothing about the picture other than how many photographs you've taken on your ROM before this one. Date & time is also helpful if for some reason the filedate gets broken by copying or making backups. It used to be configurable in the Diamond 1 camera settings. I want it back!
There are some posts about camera filenames but none that I could find were about the HTC ROM camera app. I've tried to find anything useful in the registry, but all i could find there was a way to change the prefix 'IMAGE' to another fixed prefix. It's not listed as an option in the Advanced Configuration Tool v3.3.
Can anybody give me some directions?
I've found two more possible suspects in the registry:
HKLM/software/HTC/camera/captparam/ enabledatefolder = 0
Not sure if this is what I want. I suppose this creates a date folder for every day that you take a picture, but the images themselves are still in the IMAGE0001 filename convention.
Then there's:
HKLM/software/HTC/camera/general/ filenametype = 0
BINGO! Or so I thought. Changed it to 1, nothing happened. Next images still in IMAGE0001 format, even after a softreset.
This key is different on my TD1 and TD2:
HKLM/software/HTC/camera/general/ EnableNewPromptStr4InnerStorage = 0
I have no idea what it does, but on the TD1 (with date filename option) it's set to 1. Changing it doesn't change filename OR the greyed out camera settings/advanced/prefix option. Changed it back to 0.
Tips are still very welcome. Thanks.
*bump*
I am also interested in this. Has anyone make any progress here?
I found the same problem in TP2. When I change filenametype to 1 then soft reset. Prefix setting still grey...
The reason this frustrates me is because I was able to tweak the registry to save my photos to a specific folder on my storage card on a previous device, but no matter what I set the registry to on my TD2, it only saves to My Docs or DCIM on storage card and I have tweaked everything possible for save locations.
Therefore when I copy the new pics from DCIM to my folder, I always have to rename them through windows. WTF?
I've moved on to the HD2, which has the same problem. It seems to have something to do with the storage location: put it on internal storage and you can change the filename prefix, put it on memorycard and you can't.
Here's a fix that works on the HD2, maybe it does the trick for the Diamond2

yes worked on my Diamond 2... thanks!

Great find thanks. I had changed the DCIM to "0" but never went back ito settings to see that it opened up the prefix.
No problem, just help me find out how to tell 'Albums' that the default directory for finding my photographs is no longer the DCIM folder but the My Documents/My Pictures folder. If we get that fixed I'll be 100% satisfied.
Oh and by the way, the HD2 is a killer machine

Do you mean so that it displays in the Manila tab?
If so, just go to the photo tab, select Albums and navigate to the new Album, then in menu set as favorite.
If not, please clarify.
haha that simple! Thanks!

"Bluetooth Inbox"

Since I got my HD2 I have found that a real gripe has been the inability to select where incoming files received via Bluetooth are stored.
By default the HD2s' own Bluetooth File Transfer setting stored it in "My Documents". No matter what changes I made to this, I could never get it to save to my Storage Card. I even tried installing the brilliant (and always essential on my older HTC devices) ObexInbox software, which made no difference at all on the HD2.
In the end I trawled through the registry and eventually found the key which controls the location of the incoming "bluetooth-ed" files.
\HKLM\Software\WIDCOMM\BTConfig\Services\0003\Root
Change this key from whatever it is set to to your new location (in my case this was \Storage card\Bluetooth Inbox )
Voila! - incoming files over bluetooth now get stored where I want them to!
If anyone else was having the same problems I was, then this should help you out!
BT Manager -> Settings -> Advanced -> File transfer
You can choose the path here, and it will actually change the reg value you mentioned. BUT, it still saves received files in My docs...
If I tick the box below about using storage card, it will save to the card root. Already a small step...

in mine,
\HKLM\Software\WIDCOMM\BTConfig\Services\0003\Root
doesnt exist, root is actually in
\HKLM\Software\WIDCOMM\BTConfig\Services\0002\Root
In my 0003 i have one called InboxDirectory with the same value as root.

you need to change both places in the registry
Summary - on mine i change
\HKLM\Software\WIDCOMM\BTConfig\Services\0002\InboxDirectory
and
\HKLM\Software\WIDCOMM\BTConfig\Services\0003\root
