Alright I've fixed this issue but how do I prevent it from happening again? Its a PITA to reflash everything each time this happens. Running CM7

Anyone else getting random reboots? The weird thing is it looks like its rebooting, but it wont actually ever reboot. I have to pull the battery. Seems to have started after moving to the newest Bionix.
Could you provide a bit more information such as have you overclocked your device or tweaked any system settings that could have caused it? Also what specifically is your device?
Running Samsung Vibrant. Bionix-V 1.3.1 Gingerbread Edition. No other tweaks or anything.
Have you tried doing a restore to a backup from before you installed the Bionix software? If it only started after returning to what you had before should fix it. Can you get into your recovery menu to restore a backup?
Something similar is happening to me too, except its not reboots but shutting down completely. It happens a few times a day. I've reflashed, odined back to stock and flashed it fresh to no avail.

I have been using CM9 on my phone for around 8 months now. But it has started giving me problems recently.
The other day, I was using Google Maps and I suddenly started getting the error "Unfortunately android.process.media has stopped working". This started happening with every other application too.
I can now no longer use my camera.
I can now no longer upload anything from the gallery.
GMail doesn't work any more.
I literally get the error every 15 minutes or so. And usually when I am receiving a WhatsApp message.
I have tried fixing it by moving a lot of apps from the sdcard to /data/data using the Datafix. But it hasn't helped me at all.
I am away from home for another month due to work and I have very limited access to flash a new ROM again.
Is there a work around for this?
Please help.
Hey,
I don't think there's any other fix for this other than going back to stock 2.3.6 and then reflashing CM9 again...
EDIT: just read that you're away from home.
Okay, boot into recovery, wipe data+cache+dalvik, and try flash in CM9 again. See if that works, if not, well...

So this issue has persisted throughout wiping data/factory resetting. I'm really not sure what this is.
Basically what happens is that my phone will gradually get slower and slower until it freezes and then reboots. However, after it reboots, it will go into a boot loop. What I will then need to do is basically wait it out by shutting it off. Then, I wait for an hour (maybe more) before I try turning it back on again, at which point it returns to normal.
Any idea? I thought it might be a memory leak? But how would that affect rebooting? I'd like to also mention that at one point my recovery somehow disappeared as well. I managed to re-flash TWRP using Flashify, but I haven't dared going back into the recovery, because last time when I had lost my recovery, I ended up thinking that I had to wipe my phone completely (because even Download Mode wasn't working correctly).
By the way, I'm running an AT&T LG G2 d800, on the "d80010q" firmware 4.2.2. I'm rooted, with Xposed modules running, as well as the camera mod flashed. No other modifications have been made except for buildprop and systctl (kernel) changes through android tuner.
Same issue
Hello,
I am having this exact same issue. Did you ever find a fix for this? I have been searching for hours. I have tried numerous things, flashing back to stock with lg flash tool, installing different roms, it happens on all roms.
Thanks
I had been using rooted kitat for sometime. Everything was great. Then I installed a 5.0.2 Russian stock ROM and that ran fine too. But after a few weeks, I have been getting this problem. It seems the phone doesnt load apps and/or they keep crashing. The phone eventually hangs and reboots, and even gets stuck in a bootloop at times..I have tried flashing alternative roms through odin, i cleared the cache and wiped data through recovery but the problem persists...most of the apps that are glitching are google apps and sometimes systemui and phone....What else can I do?

im having the same problem on my G530H. does anybody know how to fix this???? its really annoying
Maybe you didn't factory reset before update to 5.0.2
Hello.
I guess I am done with my S4(i9500). Too many strange problems since past one week.
So, I was on Halycon ROM and one fine morning, phone restarted and all apps started optimizing again. Ok no issues.
But now I noticed, whenever I restarted, 2-3 apps optimized everytime.
So did a clean flash and installed Cri5.
Now restored some apps and then 1 app optimizes on boot now. Is there a way to log which app is causing the problem?
There's one issue. Another issue is phone restarts randomly when gets up too hot and gets stuck on S4 boot screen. Have to remove battery and restart to boot it up..
Another issue is that the phone isn't being recognized by my PC. Tried Kies. Tried everything. I don't get the MTP menu when I connect the power cable.
Oh, and another issue, I guess my SD card is infected with a virus. Any recommended free antivirus for android?
Thanks if you could help me with one of the aforementioned problems.
Regards
Sounds like you need to flash back to stock in order to rid yourself of the software issues. If the issues are present on a stock ROM, it could be a hardware problem.
