Phone is Rebooting after rooting - Galaxy S I9000 General

I updated to gingerbread xwjvh and no problems there. I installed the modem file for my signal no problem there.
So i decided to root for the first time using CF-Root-XW_XEE_JVB-v3.1-cwm3rfs
and now it's constantly rebooting non stop...please help very urgent

Did you do a factory reset and clear cache yet?

I think i fixed it...not sure if i did it right but all i did is put the phone back in download and used the recently released cf root for jvh....and it seemed to have calmed down...what i don't understand is what is the difference between the kernel and rom??

When I flashed JVB, I got a few FC's as I forgot to wipe data. Afterwards, no probs at all.

BUMP
anyone??
same here, after OTA update with wifi.
after reboot wifi is not working anymore...
ok, now it works.
for me the problem was that i debranded my device before(o2).
in this case you will need the coldcard also for the ota update!!!
i flashed back to1.32.405.3 let the coldcard in the dhd and get the ota again.
before the radio and kernel version was not updated and this cause the wifi problem.
i hope this will work for you too.

???Can't wipe phone/factory reset???

Ok so here is what is going on with my ATRIX... I have searched for answers and not found any so here I am. I wonder if anyone else has seen this. Please note I am not new to flashing, rooting, romming, etc... This week is my first go around with the ATRIX (or any other moto for that matter).
So I went from rooted 1.8.3, unlocked the BL, and was immediately prompted for the 4.51.9 OTA upgrade. I did this and everything was fine when done. No data loss or issues. I of course lost root and the unlock, so I went to taking care of this.
I rerooted but waited a few days and read more before unlock because of known brick issues. I didnt want to be there!
next I decided to try ROM MANAGER to flash CMW. Flashed but of course needed to unlock BL so I used the auto method by mramirez (auto script for known methods). Anyway no matter what I did after unlock I had to reflash everytime the recovery to be able to boot into it. It would not hold, and after 1 or 2 boots I would be back to android stock recovery.
So then I decided to try a rom or to. Flashed ninja and gingerblur with no issues, wiped data, cache, dalvik and rebooted into new rom with all my data still intact!!!! I wiped again, factory reset from recovery... still there! I did a factory reset from within android... still there!!!!
SO.... next I decided I need to flash moto firmware 4.51.9 to get back to stock. Did this and rebooted. Back to stock YES. Rooted-NO. All data still there!
SO... I reunlocked with the method that should have wiped my device and rooted again, install tenfar's CWM. Rebooted and all my stuff is still there!
Guys I am talking everything, accounts, wifi settings, alarms etc. All this flashing and wiping and resetting and I still retain everything!
Anyone care to take a stab at why?
EDIT: So far this time around CWM has stayed put after several reboots but I have not tried a reset today. (It is kinda nice not losing all that but I am pretty sure I should have lost it!)
You just need to delete the following file first:
/system/etc/install-recovery.sh
then you need to install again CWM as you did before.
What is happen is everytimr you reboot the phone is checking the recovery partitions and if the check is different it will rewrite the stock recovery, so you need to delete or rename that file and that will solve the issue...

com.android.phone has stopped

Hi guys ino this problems has been posted before bui cant find the answers none of them work.
Basically this is note my phone its my grandads i updated the Firmware from Gingerbread to ICS last week and when people phone him this process stops. Now ive tried going into reject messages settings and having less then 5 and it does nit work. The phone is NOT rooted and will not be as I don't want to screw upp their warenty.
I would normally wipe permissions but I cant since CWM is not installed.
I also cant replace phone apk as I need Root access.
Please any help would be great.
Firmware version. : PDA:LQ2 /PHONE:LPT / CSC:LP4 (CPW)
Stock ICS 4.0.3 ROM
Guess first thing to try would be to wipe cache and data on the dialler app.
Every time ive had this problem though, the only tying thats worked has been a factory reset. Id watch out doing this on an ics rom though, samsung have now admitted the emmc issue and are working on stable kernels but they will probably be out a month or so.
Alternatively you may be able to use an alternative dialler from the play store.

Apologies, i think you'd need to be rooted to install an alternative dialler.

Wiping/factory reset will do the trick, I was having the same problem, coming from pre rooted Gingerbread to flashing non rooted stock ROM ICS through PC Odin.
After wiping problem no more force close on phone.

i wouldnt advise a factory reset with all the info we now know, would you like to be responsible for his bricked phone
i would wait til your in a position to install root safely and use a safe kernel then wipe
What I meant was a wipe after stock ROM was flashed through Odin, doesn't that remove CWM? It IS safe to do factory reset without CWM installed is it? And if you can't use your phone without well, having com.android.phone running and you do just a factorey reset it needs to go back to Samsung anyway. Hard resetting your phone doesn't seem to break warranty to me, does it?
Any advise will be appreciated, I'm still trying to figure out what to do and how to root ICS.
Thanks.
Do NOT factory reset in ICS as it could initiate the superbrick. Only wipe in CM9 or gingerbread.
Ok. Thanks. Already did it though . I was lucky to not brick the damn thing
Rolling back to Gingerbread doesn´t work, unfortunately, I get errors/fc on at least 3 important processes.
Edit: Well, I managed to get Gingerbread working again after all; flashed back to GB through PC Odin and then do a full wipe/factory restore.
wipe cache and dalvik cache will do the trick.
Guys I said that I do NOT have CWM installed nor am i rooted so little of these options will work. But I factory reset it went into reset area of setting and restored to stock and everything works fines now so THANK you also another note my granny's Galaxy s3 had the same problem after fixing the Galaxy note about 3 days after had to reset hers as well and its fine now. I wondered if it could be because i brought both phones from Carphonewarehouse ?
Thanks for your help

[Solved w/ workaround] Rooted 3G Nexus 7 stuck at boot after 4.3 Jellybean OTA

Hi there,
I have a rooted 3G Nexus 7. I ran the notification to run an OTA update for 4.3 Jellybean, it rebooted into TWRP, and I blindly said yes. Eventually I confirmed TWRP to allow it to fix root permission. I tried rebooting, but I ended up getting stuck at the X screen. Tried a few resets, but that didn't work. I Googled a bit, cleared the cache and the dalvik cache on TWRP, and came across this.
I got lazy, and probably shouldn't have done most of what I had done, so I'd like to know if there is a way to fix this without having to reflash the ROM.
Fix
I got impatient waiting for a response, so I just flashed Cyanogen on it, thinking this would be the most opportune time to try it out hehe. To anyone else who runs into the issue and sees this, I'm 99% sure that you could just flash stock on too, but I wanted to try out a custom ROM.

Help - G935A stuck on AT&T Logo - 3 vibrtations

For a week my G935A worked fine... direct out of the box I flashed ENG Kernel and Rooted, then installed apps and configured - no issues.
Today it was working then it hung on wake.. I tried to reboot and now it gets stuck at the AT&T logo and vibrates 3 times - over and over
I can get to Odin and Recovery screens easily so I tried to flash the ENG Kernel again & deleting Cache Partition few times - didnt fix it.
Also tried booting into Safe Mode - it never gets there, stays at AT&T logo.
When I go into the Recovery menu, I see at the bottom, in red... "dm-verity verification failed"
Anyone know how I can recover from this without Factory Reset? It took 6 hours to reinstall and config all my apps - really want to avoid that.
thx for the help!
as far as I know there is no way to fix and save your stuff. I had the same problem with G930A and even doing a factory reset would only allow my phone to boot but then I get apps crashing and then a reboot puts you back at ATT logo and the vibrates. Best to ditch the whole engboot and go back to stock until a more stable rooting method comes out.
Some searches shows posts that say using Odin to flash HOME_CSC without having to wipe and everything survive
... Where can I get HOME_CSC? I dl'd stock rom and dont see it in there.
thx!
Same here this morning on my 930A w/ PK1....went to watch a youtube vid and everything google related began crashing.
Only been on engboot for a couple days but did flash the v15 debloat last night. hmmmm.
Any luck with the files or procedure LivinOne?
Update: Flashed the PK1 CSC and got into recovery.
Wiped cache and reboot, same failure mode....sad face.
Flashed CSC again, into recovery, factory reset, wiped cache.
Back to setting my "new" device up.
Dec 30 update: Same crash, SEMI same problem.
I get the single vibration followed by the 3 vibrations after I put my pin in from a restart.
Same symptoms prior, all background activities began crashing.
Running all PK1 files from QRhinehardt post.
Any thoughts?
I ended up wiping and flashing the T-Mobile firmware and using the ENG bootloader (but not rooted yet). It is WAY faster than the AT&T was. I've only had issues with Wifi Calling (it doesnt seem to work most of the time)
s7 at&t
Hi, did you first flash with eng bootloader and then tmobile rom? I miss this step...I appreciate your help please
Single vibration followed by the 3 vibrations
Hi, were you able to fix the problem? I'm also getting the single vibration followed by the 3 vibrations.
Do you know why is this occurring? I performed a wipe cache and factory reset but still nothing.
