I recently put Android on my dad's hd2 and he is loving it. The only issue is that he is having a hard time seeing some of the text and icons. Anyone know of a way to sacrifice some screen real estate for easier readability? Thanks

OzVGA is totally killing me. I have spent hours trying to make mu ozVGA setting work, but bloody thing is just do small.
After applying the VGA .dll's WHAT OZVGA SETTINGS DO YOU USE???
When i switch from seVGA to ozVGA things just go crazy small.
WHAT'S WRONG???
in oz im using these settings
1200 not bold
1350 not bold
19
19
19
750,900,975,1200,1500
The font arrays relate to the text size slider in the screen settings
I'm using the same font sizes for true VGA and for the qVGA-mode. It means that fonts are small on the screen but oh so beautiful! Larger font sizes just made certain things look ugly, which kinda defeated the purpose of switching to VGA, IMHO.
I guess it depends what you're using your Universal for. Most of the apps I'm using allow me to scale their fonts so when I need larger fonts I can have them. Only the Microsoft apps have unscalable fonts...
Make sure you have the text size set to medium in the Screen control panel applet. I found that it helps to turn Cleartype OFF as well.
And I wear glasses
what about phone app, myne goes all funny, and very small. I can barely see numbers, and the whole keypad just stays at the corner of the screen. that,s abir annoying.
and I think I will have to wear glasses very soon with text size like that.
svyatko - this is all being discussed in the other thread, with suggestions for replacements etc...

I have tried out 3 different android builds, and what I found with the wallpaper when trying to use on the leo is the sizing aspect. You can actually look at the wallpaper in the gallery with no problem full view, the moment you try to use as wallpaper and set it it blows the picture up when set.I am quite aware that the android was not originally made for the HTC HD2 but if you can watch it in the gallery there must be a way.
what resolution are you trying to use for your wallpapers? on my nexus one (same screen res), i have to use 960x800+ backgrounds because of the wallpaper scrolling. if you're trying to use something smaller, it'll be blowing it up i think.
Thats a good question I never changed my screen resolution let me try that and I will get back to you.
Thanks a million
960 x 800 pixels
I need help finding out how to change my screen resolution if possible.

I'm afraid that's hardware based. You can try to saw off a part of your screen, but post a vid
Just make sure you use 800x480 with DISABLED wallpaper-scrolling and 800x960 with ENABLED wallpaper-scrolling.
Also: Don't forget to pull the clipping border to the image edges when setting wallpaper from gallery!

Yeah I tried to crop the whole pic but it has a mind of its own it enlarges the pic when I hit set thanks for the info.
apparently, after changing my screen density to 182, these are the problems i found:
camera app - preview at bottom right hand corner does not scale according to the square.
phone - dialer does not scale.
calculator - does not scale.
apparently i think these problems can be rectified after i came across this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9631967#post9631967
i tried the apks at the thread but it's only suitable for galaxy s and not galaxy tab.
i do not have the knowledge to do edit .xml files. anyone knows how to???
I've been thinking about this recently and wondering if there was a way to band-aid this problem. I'm running a 220 lcd density and would like to go higher res (lower lcd density) but apps that I use and like start breaking.
Ie :
- the email program in landscape
- words with friends
- native web browser address bar
Anyone know of an easier way than hacking the apk xml files?

This may be a nitpicky thing from someone who barely posts, but I was wondering if there was a way to change the size of fonts in places like the settings menu from the smaller style like mikrom's uses back to the bigger size of the stock sense 1.0. I've tried font changing apps and lcd density but they make the buttons and borders way too big as well which makes everything ugly and overlap.
Any help would be great, thanks.
Not nitpicky at all. I interested in this also.
Hi, I would like to use a note 3 with external monitor when im away from home but I would prefer more real estate. Is there a way to trick android into thinking it is a larger screen and reduce the icon sizes shown. By this I specifically want to be able to program on it so reducing the font size to show more of the document on the screen would be great.
Thanks for any suggestions.
