Holy Sh&t! There will be custom ROMs before there are phones!
SGS II is already out in UK I think..and it works in AT&T bands due to it being quad-band for 3g...(for those who can't wait)
That said it would be nice to have a port of TouchWiz 4.0 to play with

You think manufactures would still be fighting a couple months before launch?
This phone has probably been out in google development for the past 6 months.
That being said the specs have probably constantly been improving

I hope it is Samsung but until its out????

Don't see how HTC, LG, etc can compete against Samsung hardware wise.
Hmm.. i like.. now waiting what would be the final spec of Prime. Firmware wise, I'm not too concern as it's google phone. But more concern on it's hardware. Will it trash S2 or upcoming ip5 based on hardware?

I think hardware wise,it will not be very different from SGSII.But we may see a better display
I think samsung has edge over htc and LG in terms of hardware manufacturing and also samsung has great and efficient distribution and retail chain that can deliver phone even in remotest area of earth

Sammy says it's shopping the new processor around to other handset manufacturers (like Meizu), noting that the Exynos 4 Quad is pin-to-pin compatible with the Exynos 4 Dual (the brains behind the Galaxy S II and Note), which gives designers the ability to update product designs with minimal costs.

EDIT: Could it be that T-mo, Sprint, and Verizon were waiting for this? Should be interesting to see what is revealed May 3.
T-Mo's version is almost surely going to be a rebadged I717.
As to a Note Plus - I'd have to look through the I9100 update4 defconfigs again but no evidence of a Note Plus. However there's clear evidence of an S2 Plus - https://github.com/Entropy512/kernel_galaxys2_ics/blob/master/arch/arm/configs/s2plus_defconfig and also that one of the upcoming devices (identified as c1 - which USED to be the identifier for the Galaxy S II, but that was renamed to u1 with ICS) is for Verizon - https://github.com/Entropy512/kernel_galaxys2_ics/blob/master/arch/arm/configs/c1vzw_00_defconfig
Possible, I s'pose.
Didn't a few carriers receive Galaxy S "plus" iterations as recently as late 2011?

Nope, just altered versions. SGH-I777 and SPH-D710 were marketed as the Galaxy S II, the GT-I9100P was marketed as "Galaxy S II NFC" or maybe just as Galaxy S II.
LTE-enabled Qualcomm-based mangled devices were also released and had the Galaxy S II name applied:
SGH-I727 (Skyrocket)
SGH-T989 (not LTE, but 42 Mbps HSPA+ enabled - T-Mobile S II)
SGH-I717 (AT&T Note)
Nothing has been marketed as an "S II Plus" yet.
i wouldn't doubt it. its hard trying to stay updated with their latest devices. what have so many multiple versions? just create a phone that works around globe on all carriers. done.

North American carriers suck.
Well it could be the rumored Galaxy Journal, which I wouldn't mind since my work account is with Sprint, although carrying 2 Notes (one on Straight Talk and another on Sprint) would be weird.

I was referring to the i9001 and similar, Galaxy S Plus models - not the ones based on the S2.

Well, Samsung just announced a Galaxy S Advance, to replace their Galaxy S Plus.
I guess nothing is out of the question when it comes to iterating on their devices.

My story is supported by note, s2,s3. So only people with those phones can use it.

Unfortunately a pretty useless app.
I did not see that mentioned in the publicity.
That's always the problem with such proprietary software. If they really want mystory to be used they will have to release it for non Samsung phones too. Without support for other phones it is going to disappear sooner or later. I for example do not know one single person I can send mystory messages. I don't even know why I installed it

I haven't heard anything about the Samsung Galaxy 3 S.A.F.E. edition which stands for Samsung Approved For Enterprise. Should be coming out very soon.

The packaging says S.A.F.E at the back, so I'm assuming all devices have it (atleast the At&T ones).

The Verizon version (at least) is S.A.F.E.
My Sprint one also has the S.A.F.E. logo on the box
att as well
T-Moble one says SAFE and Samsung Approved For Enterprise as well.
I have a T-Mobile Galaxy S III and the packaging has the S.A.F.E. logo and paper.
I believe SAFE was just a certified program Samsung announced after the phone's launch, but contains features already found in the phone.
