[KERNEL] New kernel on Superclean .4 (EB01)

Is there another kernel that I can use for this ROM that is overclocked over 1Ghz? Perhaps there's a way I can modify the existing kernel and rebuild it for what I'd like to have?

Could be wrong, but without the source code this is impossible and since this is an unofficial developer release that will never see the light of day, I don't think Samsung will ever release the source.
You'll have to wait for the official OTA release of Froyo and then Samsung's subsequent release of the source.
As I understand it, there are no custom kernels for EB01 currently because there is no source available for EB01. This will not change until the devs have source available to them.
Thanks guys!

If you are referring to 2.4 on Eb01...no, they've not released the source code. What we have is all we got.

DISCONTINUED - [KERNEL][DEV][OC1700] Dexter's angel V1 [Tiamat xoom 2.6.36.4 based]

Here is a quick note on the kernel for acer Iconia A500..
The source is originally based on Tiamat's 1.4.4 kernel for Motorola XOOM, but with inclusion of code from acer kernel source release for drivers.
I dont know anything about git, and didnt have time to dig into a setup, but here you can download the kernel source.
my mod's already got this kernel included, so no need for attaching any boot images yet.. i did test it with m-deejay's galaxy rom, but lets see if the bluetooth issue can be fixed, and then some images made..
Download [Iconiap2-2-kernel-source.tgz] MD5: 888e3a177a2bd22dade1e5349c066a18
First =) Thank you.
Thanks, doesn't have to be git.
.tgz works, you could even mail CDs out and charge for them to be compliant with gpl.
Git is just easier for me, helps revert changes, try multiple versions.
Anyway, was.supposed to be a simple thanks

What do we need this for? If its already included in your rom then package as an update zip so we can flash with galaxy port. Thor v1 works amazingly well with galaxy 1.0.2

why is Aurora ICS?

pls bear with me if i asked a stupid question..
as i know, ICS is based on linux 3.0 kernel..
and Aurora has a linux kernel of 2.6.35..
thus why is Aurora labelled as an ICS rom?
It was same with Gingerbread. The unofficial ports were based on 2.6.32 but 2.6.35 was the main for GB.
So it is ICS, its simply using older kernel. Many unofficial ports for newer Android versions use the kernel that was published by manufacturer.

Blefish, rumours are that you are developing ICS with 3.0 kernel for u8800. Is that true?

Hello.
Yesterday I tried to compile MiniCM from source, but I did not succeed.
However I compiled a vanilla Cyanogenmod from source (Github), so if someone here is brave and knows what they are doing they can try it. I use a kernel based on Alfsamsungs sources, and CM boots up and works here.
(no wifi cause my custom kernel, had to overwrite with my own modules to get it working)
I have not tested it much but I think MiniCM is a better choice.
NB: No need to post question or bugs, Im not a developer, I only compiled it.

What did u use to compile it ? Linux mint or ubuntu ? And did you try with nAa11 instead of your own compiled kernel ??

I used Ubuntu 10.04, no did not try with other kernels. But the CM is not for alfs kernel (it has an kernel.sin inside the zip file), so my guess is that it also works with other kernels, like nAn11.

[Q] franco & Paranoid linaro versions?

Hey,
I'd like to know if the franco kernel and paranoid Rom are built using linaro and if not how can they be?
Thanks in advance
- Hyflex
franco kernel isnt. but why would you want a linaro built kernel, the google toolchain produces much better results. you can build franco kernel yourself, from franco source, using the linaro toolchain if you want.

I thought linaro is supposed to be way superior and faster?

i think that you fell into the linaro guys hype, as many people did. now its just more of a buzzword without any supporting evidence. anyways, the google toolchain absorbed the linaro benefits, and produces better results. there is also the linaro patches, what the fast roms are including now-a-days, thats different than the linaro toolchain, this applies to roms and not kernels. linaro patched rom do bring more optimations to the table.
