FXP/CyanogenMod tried to put it on CM9 without success due to incompatibilities.
But I think the Linaro project have a LOT of potential. So, my 2 questions are...
1. Does Linaro only works, or makes a difference in performance, when used on ICS/JB? It would work on a GB Rom too?
2. None of the other ICS port teams are trying to put it on their builds?

What will to a difference is linaro chaintool. On the Galaxy i9000 Semaphore Kernel is faster that Devil Kernel because he use linaro Chaintool.
Hi there,
Im searching for the CM kernel with the ability to undervolt as a kind of add in it?
Is such a kernel available? Can anyone build such a kernel?
Thx
Cm is just stock kernel. Faux made an enhanced stock kernel with undervolt and gamma control http://faux.androidro.ms/mako/mako-jb-enhanced_stock_422_r2.zip

Re,
Yes, maybe, there is a lot of good feedback
But I don't use it so I can't really comment, I just read the thread. You have, like said above an enhanced stock kernel with undervolt and 2 other features, nothing more. And you have the custom kernel with overclock CPU / GPU, you can change vibration, I/O scheduler, TCP congestion, etc...
Read the OP for more informations and give it a try

cm kernel is not stock kernel. its a highly modified kernel.

i dont think they built in the ability to adjust voltage. but, since its open source, anyone can build tbe kernel from cm source and add the ability to change voltages.

Incorrect. CM barely touches the kernel as is, but the MAKO developer (his name escapes me) is even more conservative than that. It is nearly stock.

give it time
cm kernels come with everything there is and are often highly modified by the end of a device's life cycle
if this dev is conservative, ok, then it might take longer or until some new kid takes over.
just don't say cm barely touches kernels

there are many other kernels, better than cm kernel, that offer the ability to adjust voltages. theres trinity kernel, franco kernel, faux..

Yes, but the are all overbloated... No slim and simple one.

Wrong! Try Harsh. It's flash it and leave it. Very good kernel. Highly recommended. Supports UV and uses mpdecision.

both trinity and franco kernels are also cleaned up so theres no bloating. trinity is one of the least bloated kernels as it doesnt include any of the normal "buzzword" additions, only what is needed, highly optimized, debugging removed, "bull**** free" as it states in its op.

Faux got enhanced stock kernel not moded alot. Just some unlocks and fixes. Maybe try this one. Im already on enhanced and its stable plus you got gamma unlocked.

i made a few kernels with Stock,380,416,450,500 GPU And Linaro 4.8.1 and O3 Optimizations, Only for eos 3 inbox me if interested in testing with the gpu speed you want to test

Hello,
I have been enjoying PA 3.99 and Faux kernel on my Nexus 4. While Faux gives me super awesome battery life I can't help but wonder how far I can take my phone in the other direction (performance over battery life). However I have not been able to find a JWR kernel built for performance. Most seem to offer better battery life, partially working slide2wake, or color calibration. There's a bunch of JSS kernels that were built for performance. Why aren't there any JWR performance kernels? Any explanations or links would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

you can run jss kernels on jwr roms, just remember to disable HW overlays and enable force gpu rendering in the phones main settings, developer options. most of the kernel developers want to build from the most recent source code in aosp, thats jss.

I know I can run JSS kernels but kinda defeats the purpose of having a performance enhanced kernel if its gonna cause deadlocks and/ or screen tearing. I know I can flash the JSS to JWR screen tearing fix but that still leaves deadlocks. I was hoping with devs like Franco Francisco and Paul Reioux working on JWR kernels that more devs would also begin work on them.

Excuse me for my misplaced question here but I'm new to Nexus4 and the conflict with JSS and JWR kernels.
Correct me if I'm wrong:
Flashing a JSS (AOSP) kernel over a JWR based ROM will cause screen tearing and keyboard deadlocks right? Screen tearing can be fixed with JWR to JSS fix zip. That leaves us the deadlocks. I know a deadlock is when the keyboard freezes, not only stock keyboard. So how to get it working again?
Finally, does a JWR kernel work with JSS ROMs without problems? Does it boot at all? And are there any advantages?
Thanks and sorry again.
I'm new to kernel development. I tried to compile from MiraGe kernel sources and it compiled without errors, Booting fine. I want to add faux sound control and Franco's gamma control into the kernel. What should i do to add them ?? What commits should i cherry pick ??
I checked faux and franco's github and cannot understand where to look. Can anyone help me
thankss
