Trying to update Your PRL from aosp-3rd attempt! - EVO 4G General

Someone try this please.
install the attached .apks (adb push)(chmod 644)
reboot
make sure the apps installed
go to dialer and dial *22803
This app makes a call to sprint when *22803 is dialed on stock dialer. It makes a special call and prl is updated.

More info?
When I dial *22803 it says welcome to sprint. And an activation adrenal comes up
This on cm7

No, you cant update prl with asop rom, you have to flash back to a sense rom and do it.

probably ADB pushing to /system and setting the correct permissions

Try adb push and permissions 644. This app is what iniciates the prl to update thru a call (#22803)

didn't work for me, got "the number or code you have dialed is incorrect" or something to that effect

No go. Pushed to /system/app and chmod 644. Dialed, which brought up the "Activate your phone" window, but in the background, it just dialed the phone-in activation.

So Nexus S users can't update their PRLs?
I think that's the method the OP/DEV is trying to do here.

Pressing "update prl" in settings>about phone>sprint system updates, on the ns4g, iniciates this app and asks if you want to make a "special call". The dialer starts and inputs *22803. Pressing "update profile" goes by *22805.

modified prl.

Hey guys i found this modded prl over on ppc geeks the other day and it works the same way the techknofiles prls does except it dosnt drop data near as much and my ping has been much more stable with this one what this does is it roams off of varizon towers but it tricks the phone into thinking its on sprint still'
trouble shooting.
first u need a sprint rom that allows manual prl updates
then once u update the prl go to the dialer again and diale ##3282# and go to data profile, then press menu/restore. wait for your phone to reboot then wait a sec and it should say hands free activation in progress once its finished itll reboot. After that update your profile and your done.
Enjoy

you can do it the hard way and use cdma workshop or use a pre 2.3 sense rom such as older zen roms and dial ##775# and the prl needs to be on the root of your sd card and u need to unrar it first.

New market 3.1.5 is available too automatically get updated..
Hi guys,
I liked the old market and prefer it to the new one. But every time I flash gapps and connect to Wifi, the market gets updated automatically to 3.1.5 version. Even if I go to Manage applications and uninstall the updates, it is again updating to the latest version when I connect to the internet. Is there any way to prevent the market app from updating itself? In the app's settings, I could not find any auto-update setting to toggle.
Thanks in advance!

[GUIDE]Notification Power Widgets

I'm tired to see a lot of posts such as: "Does this have notification power widgets ? " , " Will you include them in the next release?" , "Why don't you have a toggle for this and that ?".
You can get them easily:
Get the latest KANG from here
After flashing it, download this apk, copy it into system/app, change permissions with a root explorer, or whatever you want, reboot and enjoy !
Please stop spamming the dev threads, it's annoying for a developer to read the same requests over and over again.
L.E: I forgot to mention that with the apk, you can customize your power widgets to suit your needs.

What if I don't want to use CM but want to have the notification power widgets?

Why do you want every rom to become a CM rom ? You already have one, a very good one if you ask me.

I can't get this to install for the life of me. I've tried several different things including checking all the permission boxes on the CM Settings APK before rebooting..
There's no need to install CMSettings.apk in system.. Just open then file in a file manager and choose Install.
If I open it in a file manager it says Application Not installed. If I open it in Rot Explorer it tells me that there is a problem parsing the package.

You know, as much as I was hoping stock ICS would have toggles in the note drawer, putting the settings button in there and having the most common toggles right at the top has been more than sufficient, and saved a bit of screen real estate in the actual note drawer. That and the music controls. I actually don't think this thing is necessary anymore.

I assume you are running a "custom" recovery (clockwork)? This is why it failed. Only way to install will be to flash back to stock recovery as someone above mentioned. Probably not even worth the trouble.
