whats the diference between floyo v0.20 and minicm6 1.0.0?
imho, racht's floyo is more stable and better made, but they're very similar.
both are based on CM6 and very similar.
at all minicm6 1.0.0 is better
miniCM - based on CM6
floyo - based on floyo 1.2
miniCM:
+ a lot of themes
+ good camera libs
+ proper libs for wifi (in floyo the connection with some routers is broken)
floyo:
+ a bit faster
+ doesn't slow down when overloaded with apps
The rest is more less the same.
thanks....
so what would you advise me??????

My experience with mini-CM is pretty much the same as your's Graveir, and I agree, floyo rom's are generally faster and slicker, although mini_CM almost bugless in my experience.

Dear all,
I'm new to the smartphone game, just got an X8 for my mom.
I would like to upgrade to a smoother, faster ROM for her.
Her main requirements:
1) Fully working camera,
2) Music player
3) Wifi for facebook and gmail app
Which rom would you recommend? I prefer 2.3 but 2.2 is more than enough for her I guess, as long as it's stable.
Another question, after I install the rom, do I need to manually re-add all the contacts, and their customization (ie ringtones, pics, etc).
Thank you in advance for your patience and answers.
there are no gingerbread rom with a fully working camera yet..but theres is a few complete froyo rom..maybe you should check out floyo by racht, minicm by povanon, and elelinux v6 from frogy furnatel..but in my opinion, elelinux v6 seems to be the most stable of all..
you have to backup the contact before you us the rom and restore it after using new rom..ringtones and pics will not lose if you place it in sd card, but all of sony original stuff will be gone for good..
Using miniCM6 now, quite stable, lag free, everything works (at least in MY apps)...
Cons : fast battery drain.
Cheers to the developers!
use racht's floyo 0.20..no oc but fast n stable
I disabled the OC in my miniCM, as it cannot boot up with the OC.
Elelinux v006 + patch, working all.

If that phone is for your mum, than install Elelinux. On miniCm theres a bug when baterry is 10% or less, screen dims, goes black etc...
Elelinux is free of that bug, and battery last for long.
For example: I had 6% of batt last night at 1:00 AM, when I woke up, it still was at 6%. Than I chacked facebook and used tapatalk for 10mins, and it droped to 5.
Battery draind at 4pm.
ELELINUX FTW, belive me!
don't even try to waste your time flashing miniCM, it's laggy even when oc'd, try floyo or elelinux - satisfaction guaranteed.
Use racht floyo v. 20 its stable and fast
And about the contact make an export and import to the SD card by going to contact then menu
Hope I helped
proud owner of sexperia X8
I got yesterday FroyoBread by doixanh, and I really appreciate this rom...it´s smooth and stable.
Hi everyone,
First of all I'd like to thank the awesome developers that made these roms possible! I've really enjoyed using them
But now I'm getting really confused with all these roms.. As far as I can see there are 3 good ones I can use; GingerBread v021b, Floyo (2.2.5) v1.0a HACKDROID and 2.2.9 CM Floyo v0.30. But for example, these 2 Floyo roms, are they different? (Floyo & CM Floyo) And which rom is the best one (most options, best performance, etc) because I'm really confused now xd
Thanks in advance,
Alex
Floyo 1.0a has lots of bugs (market, maps, wifi issues), I can recommend you Floyo 1.0, it works fine
One thing to point out though is that Floyo 1.0 is based on FroyoBread v018 code so it has some bugs, that FroyoBread originally has. Namely the recorded videos have out of sync audio when played.
P.S.: I actually posted a thread for this Video/Audio sync issue here in the general section, asking if anybody knows a fix or workaround.
whic is the fastest rom in your opinion?!
and the best for gaming?
ive been using froyobread and it seams ok! but i know there are some faster
how about vanilla rom? (if i spell it right)
Don't know. I think its MiniCM. but the UI isn't great as FroyoBread.
well the fastest and most stable i mean!
MiniCM is stable

im going to try it tonight!
Froyobread absoluteley. Stable AND fast.
Froyobread !!!
true.. froyobread is good rom but floyo is a way faster and smooth
froyobread all the way
floyo roms are fast but battery is horrible with them
for gaming performance
overclock
I've tried some ROMs, the best in my opinion is FroyoBread.
i think i completly agree with you guys!
just wanted to say-->my stock rom was incrediable fast! but its android 2.1 and that really sucks
Is it just me or froyobread kills battery too fast? :/
it depends what have you installed and what options you have set + widgets u might be using!
there are many things how can u improve the life of battery
FroyoBread v020 Very Fast and Stable!!!
FroyoBread, racht floyo and arc-x8. It's a bit outdated but I used it for a while and had brilliant results.
I want to change my stock rom to new one. I examine many roms and i decide, there are two stable roms. According to your opinion which one is better?
not sure but in one video on U tube i saw ideos x5 benchmark 2900 score
it had miui rom i guess it is very hard to beat that score
i guess i would try the miui rom
any other opinions very welcome
MIUI has a beautiful UI. Oxygen has a Cyanogen experience. The performance of both ROM seems not too much difference. My choice is MIUI because I like to have a beautiful UI while using it.
I would go forOxygen if I was you. It has the best performance and battery usage. Also screen sensors are the currently faster (at least for my phone) than in any other 2.3.5 rom. So for pure performance go for Oxygen. For eye-candy go for Miui.
Oxygen for me
Oxygen here also
O2! O2!o2!o2!o2!o2!o2!
Oxygen R1 is better

CM7 is the best. MIUI is the most customizeable interface and most sexy.

does our cm7 port support official cm7 themes?
Oxygen, supports cm7' s theme manager themes too.
Just need to take thememanager.apk and themechooser.apk from cm7 rom and push them to /system/app folder. I've tested it and works.

Nice..mind to pack it and share this 2 file only?
Between,do wondering how well Miui vs Oxygen.
any 1 mind to write a review for the latest release comparison?
with/without FrancoKernel
I am using Oxygen r1 currently,since i am a maximum performance cultist.
Really wondering whats is some advantages/disadvantages compare to Oxygen for MIUI?
i switched form oxygen to cm7 a couple of days ago, i must say that i don't see any difference performance wise
My vote goes to MIUI!
I tested oxygen,cm7 and miui my choice is MIUI..! really sexy UI
If you want the UI, go for MIUI, if you want performance and stability, go for oxygen. I prefer oxygen
I'm rocking the OXYGEN R1 rom
tilt sensor is very important for me. Which one has better tilt sensor for games etc?
Just tested the latest Roms available and based on my phone's hardware, I've got this:
- CM7 110821 - Very good battery usage - 55h, relatively good BT, but had some 3G data connection problems, sensor lag after a while.
- Miui 1.8.26 (28/8/11) - Good battery usage - 45h (not as good as O2 or CM7), excellent graphics, relatively good BT, but had some 3G data connection problems, no sensor lag.
- Oxygen 2.2.2 r1 - Very good battery usage - 51h, weak BT, no problems with 3G data connections, no sensor lag.
Overall, Oxygen is the best, in less you really need BT...

thats great news
I installed Elelinux on my Hero and I like the ROM, but I updated the kernal to LVx and it fixes some things like the off animation, but it is SLOW.
What's the best kernal to balance out funcuality and speed in your opinions?
BTW, I do not want to OC.
Thanks
for me flykernel13 works best on every ele's ROM I tried
I installed FlyKernel13 last night and it does indeed seem to fly
Wich version of Elelinux? The Reloaded 2.1 one uses Fly13 the best. Speedmachine, well LVX runs nice on that. It is smoother but less battery. And with the 2.3.5 version (GB) The same as speed machine. But on 2.1 roms use Fly13.
I use flykernel on speedmachine v5 .
It's as smooth as LVX (actually feels even smoother) with exceptional battery life.
I have the GB version with FlyKernel13 at the moment, seems to be running well
Last version of Elelinux (3.3) works very well with Flykernel13
