[Q] HD2 Bricked? Can get to bootloader, BUT... - HD2 General

So my dad tried to flash another ROM on his HD2.
When you simply try to turn it on, it vibrates and the screen goes white and stays that way.
When you go to the bootloader, it looks like this:
http: //seven-days-later.de/bricked.jpg
(Sorry, I'm new here, and not permitted to post links.)
Any try to put any other ROM on it either fails with this, frozen:
http: //seven-days-later.de/freeze.jpg or the program doesn't even manage to connect via USB.
Flashing from SD either just won't work (the white screen lights up shortly and goes away, faster than I can see what it says) or exits with error '00028002 not allow', depending on the ROM we try to flash.
Our best guess is, since the device's internal name is not a valid identifier of an HD 2 (the strange characters on the first screenshot), the ROMs/bootloader doesn't allow them to be flashed. What do you think?
Does anyone have an idea how we can get the system working again?

Ok this is a new one for me, I have never seen this in bootloader before.
I will help you out with the links as others here need to see this, bricked.jpg and freeze.jpg.
Ok you say it will not show USB inm the white bar of bootloader, correct?
Do you have the latest version of ActiveSync (XP) or WMDC (Vista, Windows 7) installed on your computer? Go here if not or not sure. It has USB drivers for the HD2.
Do you know for sure you have a good USB cable?
When you tried to flash via SD card did you use a 4 gig or smaller SD card freshly formatted with a full wipe and Fat 32?
Also do you have a TMOUS (T-Mobile US) HD2 or a International HD2?
Edit: I see from the freez.jpg that you have a International HD2.
If installing the latest version of ActiveSync or WMDC gets USB in the white bar then down load HSPL 4 linked in my guide that I have klinked in my sig and install HSPL 3.03 then try to flash the ROM. You cas use HSPL to revert back to SPL if want once you have flashed.

looks like nand corruption... try redoing an original rom from sdcard

Seen this a few times,, corrupted deviceID meaning everything fails, including goldcard, since nothing recognises it as a hd2 so refuse to flash.
No advice for you, other than there are a few threads here with that issue, which you should hunt down and read (search for "corrupted device ID") and of course you should try everything, SD flash, goldcard, hspl,,,sadly I'm fairly sure none of them end well. I hope I'm wrong.
JTAG would maybe do it.

I am with Sam here on this one I think JTAG can correct the Device I.D. cause it has a direct connection to the NAND chip and allows you to run diagnostic software on the NAND chip then correct any problems as long as it is not any physical damage to the NAND chip.
PM me if you are interested in JTAG, I can put you in touch with someone that can do it and is a professional.

hspl flashed but roms wont. get error

I flashed the hspl but when i try to flash any rom it doesn't work. I am doing exactly what the instructions say i am using a tmobile usa hd2. the progress bar doesn't move the phone disconnects the colored screen stays and it never reads the phone after that.
start from bootloader. (Phone doesnt need to be fully booted and running, bootloader will do fine)
connect it to the PC, and wait for serial to become USB (should hear it 'bing' as it connects too) and then run customruu.exe (as administrator!)
Also be sure and try different usb ports. Especially if you have used mtty at all in the past.
If it doesn't connect to usb from bootloader, , , , well, , try a different pc?
Oh, and you didnt say what it says in bootloader next to 'spl' 2.08.0000? 2.08.HSPL?
just encountered the same problem. Make sure you are NOT using any sort of USB hub. plug the data cable directly from the phone to the usb ports that are on your motherboard. Also, after you get the HSPL installed, the handset will reboot. Once the system comes back up into windows. reboot once more. then run the flash process.
Worked like a charm for me.
This was also a problem with the Apache back in the day... which was a Wednesday by the way.

No need to let it restart, , , as it reboots, hold vol down to go straight into bootloader and then run customruu to flash.
lol sam. true. as per instructions you are supposed to let it sync with active sync. however this is only to prevent true n00bs from causing mischief
flashed using sd card. but i find the rom to be buggy. my keyboard inputs were jumpy after 2nd day of use. It is better now but it happened more than once and even after removing the battery.
I've had no problems flashing ROMs via Update Utility on my buddy's PC
HOWEVER, even after installing HSPL on my HD2, I'm unable to FLASH FROM SD. This is a huge problem for me as I don't have a PC and the only way for me to flash is by downloading the ROM, putting on SD, and flashing from bootloader. When I try to do this (vol + power), I get the bootloader screen, then see loading for a split second, then back to bootloader screen where it sits and nothing happens. It looks like the ROM isn't being loaded - I've tried about 6 different ROMs and reinstalling HSPL and the same thing happens each and every time.
Ideas?
@jabba
try different sd cards.lots of people report problems with cards bigger than 2gb.
format it fat 32 4096 block size.
do a full format not quick format.

This method does work. Funny how the 16gb MicroSD that came with the phone wont work though. I had to use a 2gb card.

Formatting radio

I decided it's best to open another topic, as the subject has changed and the other topic seems to have died more or less.
I have found out that the problem with my HD2 is that the radio is corrupted. However, I failed every time I tried flashing a new radio, even though I tried both USB and SD card methods.
Is there any way I can format the part of the memory where the radio is? I would also like to mention the fact that task29 failed too, as it never goes over 0%.
For anyone who doesn't know what my problem is: the device will not go further than a white screen of death when booting. I can get into the bootloader, but that seems to be useless up to now.
I would like to point out the fact that I successfully flashed a custom ROM via SD card, but that made no difference whatsoever.
boot to bootloader, what does it say next to 'spl'?
assuming the answer to the first part is something like ''x.xx.hspl'' then try flashing a new radio. Go for, example, 2,10 radio, that way it doesnt matter what rom is on there, it should work.
If teh answer to teh first part is ''x.xx.0000'' then hspl is not installed, and you should start over with hspl2 or hspl3

I have tried several radios, such a 2.07, 2.10, 2.12 and neither of them worked.
I currently have 1.42.HSPL installed, so it should.
USB does nothing: one time it got to 1% then failed because of "the image being corrupt", and the other 100 times I tried it never went past 0%.
SD card is no better: the progress bar fills up then it says:
00018003
LEOIMG.nbh - FAIL
RADIO_V2 - FAIL
Update terminate - UPDATE FAILED
And that's it.
i should stop using sd card, for a start. Stick to one method (usb) and the possible problems immediately halve.
First off i would return to a stock rom. In my case i would use teh original o2 1.43 stock rom, but you can use the 1.66 wwe if you arent sure of your stock.
boot into bootloader and physically check that hspl is still installed - it can be removed by sd card flashing, even if teh rest of teh flash fails, so always worth double checking, not just assuming that it is still installed.
assuming it says 1.42.hspl as you expect, and not anything ending .0000, then connect to usb and wait for teh word 'serial' to become 'usb'
When it does, on your pc run the stockrom.exe file.
Please post any resulting success/errors..
(oh and dont make the newb mistake of leaving a rom image on your sd card, else it will try and flash that.
Step 1: Downloading WWE 1.66.405.2 from another thread I found here on XDA.
Step 2: Formatted SD card and put it back into the device as it was, empty.
Step 3: Physically checked that my bootloader says 1.42.HSPL and it does.
*** Waiting for download to finish ***
Step 4: Loaded the phone into bootloader and connected the cable, so that it says "USB" instead of "Serial".
Step 5: Run as administrator the _HTC HD2_RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.66.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship I downloaded earlier.
Step 6: Went through all the steps indicated by the installer and it began.
It's 17:35 here and progress is 0%. I will be waiting 10 more minutes, then edit this post.
EDIT: It's 17:42 and the Update Utility says:
ERROR [262]: UPDATE ERROR
The ROM Update Utility has encountered communication errors during the update process. The program will guide you step-by-step to recover from the errors so you can continue with the update.
Step 7: I click on "Recover", then follow the four simple steps to recover my device.
Step 8: The Update Utility goes back to the "Update" button screen, and the whole process repeats over and over.
Any other advice?
SECOND EDIT: I forgot to mention that before clicking the "Update" button, I noticed that there was a blank space where the current image name should have been. Maybe this has something to do with all that is happening?

im in the same boat mate and have yet to get it working..mine doesnt fail flashing all the time, but quite often. same thing with the radio v2 fail. i can use bootlader no problem, use hspl to lock and unlock no problem, sometimes a flash goes ok with usb but quite often it doesnt, and when flash from sd to say put a stock rom and relock it it will quite often fail exactly like yours but other times it says its a good flash. if its a good flash itll hard reset like normal, but just wont boot past the white htc screen. i agree at this point, it has to be something related to the radio...whether its corrupt like you were saying or some kind of hardware failure
just a note it is odd that a number of us are all having the same issue..its not just a few anymore
heh ignore, ill re read
samsamuel said:
step 2....... why? did i not advise against sd card flashing? when you run the update on your pc it is restarting the phone, which is immediately flashing the rom from your sdcard,,,,, not the one on your pc.
the problem is that it immediately has removed hspl, and so the rom fails the region check.
remove the nbh from your sd card, and do all the other steps. you may have to reapply hspl, so run hspl2 and choose either 1.42.hspl or 1.66.hspl

heh, d;oh. ill re read and try again (it was the LEOIMG.nbh - FAIL RADIO_V2 - FAIL bits from teh earlier posts that had me thinking he was still using sd card, cos those are sd card flashing errors)
so with the communications erros, could be AV software, firewall, or simply wrong usb port. try all ports (im sure you have by now) and if poss try a whole different pc.

lol no worries, i sure appreciate any help fellows like him and i can get. im certainly not new to winmo and im totally stumped.
Also guys, if you are having trouble flashing from USB , try some basic troubleshooting, if you are sure everything on the phone is correct ...
Try different USB port, also USB hubs and flashing can be bad mojo ...
Try a set of usb ports on the back of the PC rather than the front.
Try a different PC
Try a different cable
I also know it sounds strange, but I have seen some anti virus cause a flash to fail because of active scanning and it tries scanning the files in the flash directory while the flash is going on and locks them ...
All I got .....
oh and if the rom you downloaded came as a zip, dont run it from within teh zip. extract it first.

thanks mate, cant speak for the op but ive tried 3 different computers (xp,vista,7) different cables, everything. seems like roms will flash but it doesnt recognize a radio when booting, hence the white screen with no rgd info..so stumped.
edit..tried many many stock and custom roms and just about every radio out
The thing is that you seem to need a non-corrupted ROM to flash a radio, and need a non-corrupted radio to flash a ROM. As we have neither of them, all I can say is good luck to the guys fixing it at the service center.
I have given up; I have LITERALLY tried every possible solution I could think of. Just for the sake of it, I'll make a list here:
1. Tried all USB ports available.
2. Tried installing different drivers for the Active Sync.
3. Tried task29 w/o MTTY.
4. Tried task29 with MTTY. (Successful, but useless)
5. Tried removing HSPL.
6. Tried changing HSPL.
7. Tried flashing custom ROM. (both USB and SD)
8. Tried flashing stock ROM. (both USB and SD)
9. Tried flashing radio. (both USB and SD)
10. Double (even triple) read all of your useful comments and posts, clicked and typed the hell out of my mouse and keyboard, googled for any possible term I could come up with which was related to our problem.
I have given up for today. Tomorrow morning, I`ll have access to another laptop and I`ll try performing the same operations there, hopefully there will be a difference. All I want now is to get rid of HSPL off that bootloading screen, so that the guys from HTC won't have any reason to decline my warranty.
If nothing works, I will microwave the device for 3-5 seconds, and hopefully it`ll stop booting.
If you guys have any other suggestions, do not hesitate.

[Q] Help!

Hey guys,
Sorry to be a burden but I'm having a few issues with my hd2, and being a noob I didn't really know where to turn except this forum.
Basically my dad bought the hd2 from the UAE early this year and it all worked fine on stock settings for about 6 months. In the last few months, however, the phone started to lock up, and it got to the point where it wouldn't even boot properly.
In an effort to fix the problem I went with a hard factory restore, however, this seems to have caused more problems as now the phone is stuck in the bootloader.
I've been searching for hours, and have come to the conclusion that I need to update the flash? and then possibly install a new rom on the phone?
My major issue in doing this though, is that I can't seem to connect to activesync while the phone is in the bootloader.
Please help me sort this out.
First of all lets make sure that your trying perform the hard reset correctly.......
You need to hold down both volume buttons whilst the phone is turned off..... Then tap the power button and keep the buttons held down.......
Release them when you see the confirmation screen.........
Powering on while holding only the vol down button will take you to bootloader....
If you need to reflash the device then have a read of this thread here....
If its a "Tmous" HD2 (green and red call/hangup buttons) then you need to read this one
When connecting to the pc in bootloader you should see the word "serial" at the bottom of the screen change to "USB".......
Might be worth checking the text on you bootloader screen for any irregular looking characters, there have a few cases of people with corrupt bootloaders, usually these will display odd looking characters at the top. This is quite rare though.
If you want to flash another stock rom then you wont need to worry about HSPL just download the appropriate ROM and follow the instructions on screen.
Start off at the HTC site and input your serial number to see which ROM is suitable for your device.....
If none of that helps then hold out for some advice here from someone with better knowledge of these things.....
Ok well I've just tried to do the hard reset in the way you've described and had no response from the phone. I had to remove the battery from the back to actually power down the thing as nothing else seemed to work. I can't actually seem to start it up again now =S
Thanks for all the info, I'll keep trying to get it started. I'm downloading the stock rom from the htc site. Hopefully I will find a way to install that.
Also, when the bootloader was up, there weren't any odd characters that I could see. It all seemed pretty standard. It had the current rom driver which was 1.42 or something and a few other lines of info.
Thanks for the post.
edit: perhaps the battery is dead?
No problem.
Is it charging when plugged in and turned off?
If so let it charge while turned off for a while and then try to boot........
If you cant get to bootloader and establish a USB connection then you could try flashing the ROM from the SD card.
rename the rom to "LEOIMG.nbh" place it on the root of a freshly formatted (fat32) sd card and turn on the phone holding vol down..

To be honest I have no idea if it is charging whilst turned off =S All I get is the bootloader when it decided to turn on and that gives no indication of power level so I really have no idea. It makes updating a rom pretty scary haha.
So I just attempted to install the default rom from teh htc site, but failed due to the lack of activesync. It was strange though because the updater managed to change the screen on the phone and get to 1%. It then crashed and I had to go through this recovery process.
I will have to try this SD card process I guess. Could you perhaps link me to a more in depth guide to how to do this?
Thanks a lot for your help I really appreciate it.
you should get a red light up near the earpiece to indicate that its charging........
try this video for flashing from sd card......
I am not getting a red light flashing? But it doesn't seem to be running out of charge. I'm still having lots of trouble
It would seem that I need to install this hspl before I do anything, however, I can't install that if I can only access the bootloader screen. Does this mean my phone is bricked?
I want to be able to set up a rom straight from SD, however, I have no idea where to start. That video just seems to send me in a big loop.
Perhaps you could link me to a simple rom that I can attempt to load via sd card?
edit:
I seem to have somehow fluked an install of HSPL 8G XE.
I have no idea how this happened or whether it is good or bad.. but at least something has happened.
Hmmm
installing hspl is covered here
as long as the word "serial" is changing to "USB" on the bootloader screen when you connect to the computer you should be ok.......
You dont need HSPL to flash via sd card but I think that video was directed more towards people installing cooked ROMS from XDA.
Installing a stock rom will automatically overwrite HSPL so unless your planning to flash a custom ROM then installing HSPL is pointless........
You might be better off installing a cooked rom. (Artemis, Dutty's)
They tend to run better than stock, if you get one running then it will be easier to get back to a stock rom (if you want to) than the situation your in now.....
This is from the flashing guide;
Flashing Via MicroSD Card
NOTE (PLEASE READ): If you flash a Stock Rom via microSD Card then it will overwrite your HardSPL with a stock SPL included in the nbh file. This does not apply to custom roms as they do not include an SPL. BE CAREFUL!!
1. Make sure your microSD is Formatted to fat32 (you dont have to delete all files but it is safer if you do)
2. Download your prefered Rom from the LEO Rom Develpoment Page and unzip/unrar it to your PC
3. Goto the Roms Folder and rename the .nbh file to LEOIMG.nbh
4. Copy the LEOIMG.nbh file to the root of your MicroSD Card
5. Plug the MicroSD Card into the phone
6. Reset the device while pressing the volume down button to enter the BootLoader screen, you will first see a tri-color screen with the phone and SPL Information at the top
7. Follow the On Screen instructions to start the update
8. After flash has completed, press the reset button with the stylus to reset the device.
Reckon you could link me to one of those roms? I think we're getting pretty close now.
Your help has been great I can't thank you enough.
Your welcome
You can find Dutty's ROM here
or the Artemis ROM here
Have a quick read and see which one you think you'll prefer, to be honest I think they're both pretty similar to stock but with a lot of the crap taken out....
Just follow the steps in the first link I posted and you should be good to go.
Ok new problems.. Can you believe it.
I seem to have tried everything.
Basically I can install of a sd card, but when it gets to the end of the install and I restart instead of booting into a OS it boots to the tri colour screen, and starts the install process again.
Also, I have attempted to install via usb and have had varying success.
As I have already said, I am able to install hspl, however, when I try to flash I get to varying percentages below 30% before the whole thing freezes.
I now have an error that says Upgrade Rom code error Please Try Again.
Sorry i dont mean to hijack ! but will any of you be kind enough to help me here..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=879980
thanks !
Ok so I followed the steps and still to no avail.
I am able to boot using the sd card method, however, the same problem occurs with each rom version. Basically as soon as I reset the device it pretty much switches itself off, then I can't turn it back on, once I finally do turn it on, it restarts the process like it never happened.
The other issue is again the active sync problem.
With most of the the usb connections I am able to connect and get a little way through the install (most I've got is 15%) then it just freezes up and I get the 262 error
Your best bet is to try flashing with a freshly formatted (FAT32) 4gb, class 2 card.
I know, sounds pretty specific right?
You wouldn't think it would matter?
I have tried flashing with 16 gb class 2, failed at the radio step
Tried with a 8 gb class 6, failed at the radio
4 gb, class 2, flashed successfully.
Seems our HD2's are picky about what cards they'll take a ROM from for some reason.
Alright I'll try that, my next issue is which is the stock rom for the phone =S
It was bought in the UAE and I'm currently in Australia.
edit: Also I read somewhere that the constant bootloader screen can be caused by a bent battery pin?
Edit2: I have attempted to do that, however, now the bootloader will accept the card, then just sit on loading...
I'm pretty sure this thing is bricked.

I've heard of bent battery pins being a pretty common problem, causing usually just the phone not to charge properly. I've personally never heard of it causing constant bootloader, but it's definitely worth checking.
It's weird that it's such a common problem, my usb/charging port is broken, so I have to use an external charger. I change my battery on average twice every 24 hrs, and I've never bent a pin
Ok, new info, apparently because the device is for the middle east it does not support stock 3.14 roms. What does this mean for me? Am I bricked.

That's the post I found the info in. All of that info matches up to mine except my original image was 3.142 I think =S
Firstly, your phone is not bricked - a bricked phone is responsive as a brick.
Can we start from the begining?
What does the Bootloader Moder screen say (with and without the USB cable connected)?
What ROM (and if custom ROM, what RADIO) have you flashed and are trying to flash?

Alright from the beginning.
Basically about a month into using the phone in Australia it became very unresponsive to the point where it would not boot at all. We left the phone for a couple of months, however, after seeing a friend rom android I decided maybe it was time to attempt to fix this phone.
Some more info:
When I attempt to do any sort of ROM update there is nothing in the 'current image' part so for example it will say update to Dutty 3.6 but it's updating from nothing, does this mean there's no firmware there?
In the bootloader I have:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.0000 8G XE
MICROP(LED) 0X05
MICROP(TOUCH) 0X40
Without USB cable in I get Serial in the white part down the bottom, with the USB cable in + plugged into computer I get USB.
Just to further clarify. In regards to the ROM I have installed. I simply don't have anything installed. There is a bootloader, no image, no bootup. It boots up to the tri colour, that's it.
For a moment we will forget about going to 3.14 ROM: I don't know if that phone is entitled to an official upgrade to 3.14, if it is locked to a particular network, if it is branded, etc. If it is not entitled to a 3.14 ROM upgrade then you will have to go through GoldCarding, so we will leave it for now.
Make sure that the battery has had a good couple of hours charge in the charger or double that if connected to the computer.
Remove SIM Card and SD Card.
Switch on to Bootloader Mode, then connect to USB.
Download and run HSPL2 - ignore the instruction about connecting to ActiveSync etc, just proceed.
Download and install the HTC 1.66 WWE ROM - again, ignore the instructions, just proceed.
The reason for HSPL is because your phone may be operator locked (not SIM locked) and you aren't entitled to run the 1.66 WWE ROM.

[Q] Semi-Brick? Full-Brick? Help pls!

Hello XDA.
Huge problem over here.
I can't flash anything on my device (HD2, Europe) anymore.
Newest Radio-Rom, SPL-2.08.HSPL.
Tried everything listed in the forums, event tried to flash stock leoimg.nbh from sd. nothing.
Whenever I try to flash via USB, the screen is stuck at 0 % (independent from what I try to flash).
HSPL won't let me reflash it, get an error msg.
When flashing from sd, stuck at "loading..."
Hardreset (VolUp+VolDown+Power) works, but doesn't change anything.
I really tried E-VERY-THING, nothing seems to work.
Bootloader is starting up, even the white screen with the green HTC logo is showing up, but then: nothing.
Worked my ass of through hundreds of threads in dozens of forums.
This is my last chance.
Anybody? Thank you!

If you've tried literally everything as you claim, then nobody can possibly help you. Have you tried flashing a stock ROM via the SD card?

are you 100% sure its 2.08.hspl and not 2.08.0000?
also, tried different usb ports? different PC even, if possible? (not 64 bit either, if you can manage it, , , an xp machine is perfect)
Probarly your phone is bricked yes.
You say you tried everything and nothing worked, then i think there is no option left. Maybe put it in the fridge or something for like 10 minutes?
To all:
I'm sure, its hspl 2.08, pic of bootloader on its way.
I tried Stock ROM from sd. Stock oben AND provider one.
Tried 2 different PCs. Will try XP 32bit when possible.
Please tell mehr, that here's a german Euthanasie a jtag device... or pleeeeease name another option...
Thanks...
Oh my god, Not "Euthanasie" i'm so sorry...
Damn autocorrect... meant "with"...

... recently I tried to flash a whole new ROM. RadioROM was ok.Task29 went good, MAGLDR had problems. First time stuck at 4 % (Connection Error 262 (?)), second time at 96 % (also connection error), third time I held the data cable in the port, not too strong, but it worked this time. MAGLDR booted, but didn't show any options, just the header. So i did another Task29. From this time on, nothing worked anymore. :/
Anyone?
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Also trying another sd-card atm, doesn't seem to work...
Sorry for double-posting,
but i was able to re-flash radiorom via sd. maybe this helps.

This is the most stupid bit of dangerous "advice" I've ever heard. Not only is a phone not "bricked" as long as the bootloader is working, but more importantly, "put it in a fridge" has never done anything good. It's an urban legend. If you feel like it you can try it on a broken harddisk right before getting out the black candles and the chicken blood, but it's completely useless.

Have you tried a different USB cable? Everything points to the connection, maybe your phone's USB port is shot.
Wouldn't this have been solved when flashing over sd-card?
RadioROM worked this way, whole stock package does not.
Tried different usb cables, different pcs. and different stock roms over sd.
so chances are good it's not bricked, if the bootloader works? I mean, it even boots to the green htc logo on white bg....
thanks
EDIT: Also, usb-port worked fine before flashing, it also works now, bootloader recognizes "USB".
EDIT2:
MTTY changed nothing. Task29 was succesfull (it seems), tried task 2a (that should format the WHOLE thing, like i unterstood) and 28, too, seemed succesfull, too, but my problem remains.
and why the hell can i flash a radio from sd but not a full stock rom? sd card is formatted in fat32 and 2 gig sized... tried all official roms...
and hspl still throws this error....
EDIT3:
Set up a VM with Win XP 32 bit. HSPL doesn't throw an error now, but it seems to take forever to install. Almost 10 Minutes and counting.
is this normal?
Didn't work.
Dont know what else to try, if nobody answers...
Think about sending it in to get JTAGed (Bootloader rewritten...)

Why? I've seen it working. A friend bought a broken HD2, the seller said he couldn't flash anything and he had problems with camera and games before. So after dozens of tries, he put it into the fridge for half an hour and managed to flash magldr and a new rom. Well, the motherboard was faulty and he couldn't do almost anything because the phone suffered constant freezes and restarts when doing anything else than looking at the homescreen, but well, the fridge helped him a bit.
USB Port on the phone, USB Port on the computer, USB Cable, Drivers in the computer, Firewall or similar host security software on the computer - these are some of the things I'd double-check.
But a ROM in nbh format should still flash from SD- what exactly happens, does it not find it or not complete the flash? Does it throw any error code?
And did you see any bad blocks while on mtty?

No bad blocks, will check it again.
As said, USB-Port on phone seems ok to me, used 2 different drivers on 2 different pcs with 2 different data cables and 2 different OS. Firewall and Antivir disabled.
When flashing from SD leoimg.nbh seems to be found but it gets stuck at the grey screen with the blue "loading...". forever. no error code, not even an option to confirm or cancel the flash. cancelling the loading process with voldown failed. tried three different sd cards and all official stockroms that could possibly come in question for my phone.
But why was I able to flash the latest radiorom again?

Beats me. How long it you wait for the full ROM to flash though? I know you have tried a bunch, and am sure you would have waited long enough, but asking just in case. It might take as much as 10 minutes or more.
But ya, at the moment JTAG seems to be your best bet.
waited for almost 1,5 h now for an sd flash...
jtag seems more and more acceptable...
If tag is available, go for it.
There are a few variants of this problem, that I think of under the umbrella name of "stuck radio"
Usually its the radio that gets stuck, but sometimes the spl gets stuck too, or sometimes just the spl. Either way, some types of flash work whilst others don't (radio works hspl doesn't for example, or custom roms flash stock rooms dont ), or a flash seem to work but nothing changes, (hspl gives hacked it but spl doesn't change,or the flash hangs...
My guess is two causes, some being corruption of the software, some actual hardware...bad blocks at a critical area of memory perhaps.
There are one or two success threads with this family of problem, but hundreds with no successful outcome. Sometimes just flashing the oldest correct rom from SD does it, sometimes freezer trick works, (not an urban myth), sometimes just trying again and again works. Often though, nothing does, so if jtag is an easy option I'd take it.
Be warned though, it could be hardware, in which case it may not work.

Looks like we have a winner ....
You said "flashing a Radio was OK" .. so we shouldn't be having a problem there. Also, a task29 went good, too.
You started having those problems during MAGLDR, but after you held the cable, everything went fine.
So in other words, during attempt 1 & 2 of MAGLDR flashing, you pulled the cable.
I know that pulling the cable midst a radio flash will 99% cause a brick.
Same with ROM with a Radio (but less chance).
But MAGLDR, I don't really know, maybe sam will help ?

HTC Screen Stucked - Nothing Works

Hello Guys.
My nephew has an HTC HD2 (I supose that). It is stucked on the HTC screen. I tried a lot of thing, but nothing works, i'm affraid to make it worst. If someone can help me.
Some informations.
I don't know if it was working with android or windows;
I can access the tri color screen holding volume down and the power button or the reset button on the back of the device;
I already made a hard reset (holding vol up and down and reset buttons) the process was ok but nothing changes.
I don't know what kind of HD2 is it. On the back of phone I have this: HTC HD2 T8585, on the next line some asian characters, next line CCAF093G0600T0.
I tried to put images but i can't, i'm new, so, only link adresses.
This is the image of my tri color screen
i.imgur.com/HtbtBCu.jpg?1
If I try Task29 from Toolkit I receive this error
i.imgur.com/569SjSn.png
I tried all HSPL (HSPL 2, HSPL 3 and HSPL 4) all kind of errors, but the persistent error on HSPL4 is Flow: 00006, Error: 00006, Unknow
If need some other information.. just ask.
Thanks in advanced.
If it has coloured call/end keys (red&green) then it a US T-mobile model
If all keys are white then it the standard model.
Your hd2 has been unlocked by xtc clip box or similar so cid is probably bypassed without need for HSPL .
I would remove sim card & memory card & try flashing a standard windows rom via usb & if fails try using the sd card flash method.
Worth checking windows drivers are installed or just reinstall WMDC (link in hd2 wiki), using sd method removes pc issues from the problem.
If standard windows rom fails try a custom windows rom such as energy as they contain no radio or spl so sometimes will flash fully when hardware nand issues cause full rom to fail .
working rom links & help can be found in hd2 wiki >
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_HD2
Ohhh.. Very good informations.
My call/end keys are coloured, so, I have an US T-Mobile model, is right?
I forgot to tell, i live in Brazil.
Now, i'm using windows 10, is it possible to use with WMDC? I tried to find a compatible version but no success.
There is a possibility to manage this phone with windows 10?
Thanks.
First thing I would try is flashing the original US t-mobile hd2 rom via sd card method as removes your pc & w10 from equation ...
us t-mobile rom >
http://www.androidruu.com/Leo/RUU_L...adio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_1.5_Ship.exe
you will find guides on flashing from sd card if search or perhaps link in wiki !

You should have most functionality of wmdc in windows 10, installing wmdc6.1 in compatibility mode of vista sp2 may help, also connecting device prior to wmdc install may load better driver resources perhaps !
Hello again..
I tried to install this ROM by SD card Method, but the screen shows a white background with the message Loading... and nothing more.
I tried by computer and after 1% I received an error informing that the image file is corrupted. Then, i tried another download site but the error was the same.
Any idea?
Thanks
Just to add more information.. I tried one more TMOUS ROM: RUU_Leo_1_5_TMOUS_2.13.531.1_Radio_15.39.50.07U_2.10.50.26_Signed_LEO_Ship same result, white screen with the word Loading... and nothing more.
I tried also two more ROM's:
RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.43.405.1_Radio_Signed_15.26.50.07U_2.04.50_22_2_Ship and
RUU_Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.14.405.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship
Both with the same result. After press the power button to start the updating it begins the updating and failed on the first step.
Any idea?
Thanks.

if TMOUS rom does not flash try energy custom rom (such as one in my signature) and see if that does.
All these tries was made by Sd Card...
And with your Energy ROM.. the same thing. only white screen with a blue word "Loading..." and nothing more happen.
another tries?
Thanks
Besides trying another smaller sd card such as 2gb or 4gb & making sure nbh file in root of card & trying vis usb flash on a couple of computers you running short on options.
You could also try flashing just radio rom image & see what happens !
Please kindly help
