Ok, odd one... ever since I put Cyanogen 7.0.3 on my phone I can no longer text COKE (2653) My rewards points, MURPAY (687729) A gas service, etc. If it is not a 7 or 10 digit phone number I am getting the error CANNOT SEND THIS MESSAGE, Your Message Has No Valid Recipients... Never had this happen before... Any thoughts?
Bump.... Anyone???

It could just be a coincidence....
but ever since I've had my HD, I'm losing text messages. I've had people say they've sent me a text but I've never received them. I've even sat next to someone and got them to send me a text (with delivery reports turned on) and it says it's been delivered, but the text never arrived.
it happens randomly though so difficult to trace.
Like I said, it could just be coincidence, but this morning I went to my phone and found 4 text messages sat in my outbox that hadn't been sent...no warning, no alarm, they just never went. I had to reset my phone before they would go.
I'll give O2 a call but I know the response I'm going to get...nothing wrong that they can see!!!
starting to get frustrating as I could have missed lots of important texts
This is strange indeed. Have you also tried looking in the full inbox? Not just in TouchFlo 3D...
I don't use TF3D so it wont be that. I've just set up bluebook on o2 so if messages appear in there but not on my phone then I'll know it's a system problem and not a phone problem.
and since the O2 customer service system has been down ever since I got my phone they can't even help me look into it!!
So, I've got an annoying issue with my DHD at the moment and am curious to see if anyone else is having it (can't find any threads yet!).
It seem's like when I restart or power-cycle my phone it starts to re-send random SMS messages from either the same day or previous day.
For example, yesterday and today I have had to restart my phone and on both occasions it re-sent SMS to 3 of my contacts. Mind you these messages were sent successfully in the first place... I could understand if it was trying to re-send SMS's which didn't make it through.
Anyone else noticing this issue?
I have experienced this once.
Sent a message on Friday 5th to my wife. On Sat 6th my phone starts lagging horribly so I restart it and on reboot it sends that text to my wife again...rebooted several times after and it didn't send it again though...
I had this issue with my Desire HD, I used the 'transfer data' app to transfer old contacts and sms messages from my blackberry 8900 curve, and a couple of days later when I restarted my phone, it started sending old messages from my new phone, complete with replies!
Turning of the phone stopped it, but then it would do it again when I restarted the phone again.
3 - 400 sms message later, I deleted all old sms message from my phone, and since then it's not done it.
I put it down to the 'transfer data' app, had anyone else used this to transfer old messages?
Nope. I started from scratch with my messages.
Are you seeing your re-sent messages on the conversations?
I only saw a message that was firstly unsuccesfully sent re-sent on reboot one time, nothing else.
For me, it took the original message and moved it further down the conversation thread to when it resent. It was not duplicated.
Every couple of days, I get a text message from my girlfriend (she uses an iPhone 4 on Verizon) where the first half of the message is one thing and halfway through it appends a completely different, older text message. For example, this one came in 4 days ago:
"I wanna do something cool during the day tomorrow, like Enchanted Rock or something, so bring proper outdoor workout attire or shorts if we just go to Lought of losing it gets me so scared haha. <3 It"
In this case, the first message should have read "I wanna do something cool during the day tomorrow, like Enchanted Rock or something, so bring proper outdoor workout attire or shorts if we just go to Lockhart or something" but it appended an old message halfway through where she was telling me about the thought of losing her ring that I bought her, scares her.
I looked at that particular message detail and it says it was sent at 7:00PM and received at 6:59PM on Feb. 22, which makes no sense. The second message that it appended was from many many days before (I scrolled through back as far as I could to Jan 30 and never found that conversation we were having about her losing her ring, so it must have occurred before then).
I am using my Nexus 4 with a monthly T-Mobile sim on the $30 plan (unlimited text, unlimited data (5GB), 100 minutes talk). I get terrible reception in my apartment which is where I am at most of the time when she sends me messages, so I thought maybe that had something to do with it. I have not noticed this issue with anyone else yet, but honestly I don't really text much with anyone else, and those messages that I do send/receive are never very long compared to what she sends me. I am curious if anyone else has seen this problem and if it is a service-related issue or a phone issue.

I have the exact same problem... I'll do you one better and say that I randomly don't get text messages either. Same exact situation as you. She's in Verizon with an iphone and I have the $30 prepaid with t-mobile. I have tried everything under the sun and cannot fix the problem... Its really starting to tarnish my view on the phone and the $30 plan... If you've found any solutions please let me know.

If you're having this issue with only one sender, the issue is far more likely to be the sender's phone, carrier, or the third party the carrier uses for intercarrier SMS than your own phone. Having the sender contact their customer support is generally the best option.
Only if you're having the issue with multiple (or all) senders on multiple carriers including your own is it likely that your phone or carrier is at fault.
recover text message from iPhone
I'll take you through all the possibilities of recovering the text messages from iPhone.
=> Check for iCloud backup if you have any so that you can restore the SMS saved on iCloud.
=> Check for iTunes backup. Download and install the free software "iPhone Backup Extractor" and launch the app. It will automatically search for any backups on your computer.
=> Check for your lost text message in Windows/Users/Contacts folder. There are times when iTunes saves the text messages in this folder.
Hope one of these methods will help you.

I have been having issues with text messages. It's an intermittent problem, my Nexus 4 will just start given me text message errors when I try to send a message and I won't receive messages either. The weird thing is that this will only effect one number. I can text any other number just fine while this is happening. It is really annoying because it lasts anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour and half. Rebooting the phone does not solve the issue.
Every time this has happened it has always been the same number and I not sure if this is significant or just a coincidence since it happens to be the number for the person I text the most. Also, while this was happening I texted the same number from a different phone just for good measure and it worked fine. A couple of times it happened when I sent a text message quickly followed by another with the correction for a typo.
I'm not sure if it's my phone or the network. My Nexus 4 is on T-Mobile's monthly 4G plan. Anyone else having this problem and does anyone know of a solution? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
What is the error it gives you?

I don't remember the exact wording of it, but it was a message not sent error.
I've got a GS5 on Verizon in the NY area. My txt messaging is really broken. I don't get txt messages until the next day. When they come in I get 40 of them at 1 time.
Many times I receive the same text from the same person 10 times in a row although they sent it only once. Outgoing is hit or miss.
My phone is rooted. Is there something I may have accidentally turned off or froze? It's killing me.

This problem may be due to network issue.
You should ask your service provider/mobile operator to investigate the problem.
