In theory it shouldn't be a problem although bear in mind that you will need to have root access and superuser before you can use Titanium on your SGS2

I have just backed up all my apps from my HTC Hero.
Currently downloading all my SMS with SMS Backup + but after that's done I'll be attempting to restore some apps. will let you know how it goes

[Q] switching nand rom

before nand we all just download different builds and just copy the data.img file to the next build and basically kept all of our data , app, widget etc.
but what can we do now?
i cant change the data.img file in the nand roms...
how do i change roms and keep all my stuff?
You're gonna need to start backing up and restoring what you want to keep. I recommend titanium backup.

titanium backup restore your rom like copying the date.img?

It will backup apps, their data and (optionally) system data.

Titanium Backup will backup all apps and most data (like settings, preferences etc.). Beware that if an app offers to download something for additional functionality, that will not always be backupped, as it isn't always stored in the same location. No harm done there, as it doesn't contain settings in such scenario. If you restore the app, all settings will be restored too.
Sincerely,
Mac

XXUAMEA and backups with Titanium Backup Pro or Helium Pro do not work

Hi guys,
Since I have the latest ROM for my country (XXUAME2 for I9505), all my schedule backups with Titanium Backup Pro or Helium Pro do not work properly. The task is running (they don't signal any error) but none of my last modified user data are backup... That's quite annoying.
Do some of you have the same issue?
Also, Titanium Backup cannot save my SMS/MMS and WIFI as XML. The app is force closing all time.
Bump.
It does the same with XXUAMEA...

What version of Titanium Backup do you guys have? Mine is McDaCO Plus 6.0.3.1 and I have a i9500 version. This app works just fine.
I have Titanium Backup 6.0.5 and stock Samsung ROM XXUAME2 for I9505 with CF-Auto-Root.

[Q] Best way to backup everything before flashing?

Hi, What apps do you guys use to backup up your SMS, Contacts, Apps etc before you wipe everything and install a new rom.
Im looking for one that has a restore feature that can easily be used without there being any problems where I'm left with all my data lost
Cheers!

Nandroid backup via CWM or Titanium Backup with rooted device.
Export to xml in titanium backup for sms
Google looks after contracts
Titanium backup for apps
Make a nandroid before you try a new Rom incase you want to go back or forget to backup something

There is also Helium which doesn't require root if you run it plugged into USB on your computer.
Hi guys!
Sorry for the late reply, but thank you for the suggestions!
Titanium backup looks too complicated :L I'm using TWRP atm so a Nandroid backup isn't an option for me I don't think..?
Helium seems to appeal for me, so I will try it out

I would advise you to make at least an EFS backup. You can use the backup function in TWRP for that.
Otherwise, Titanium backup has no real competitor, and is not complicated at all. Try it. You'll thank me later.

App Backup & Restore OR G-Data Cloud Back are your best options.
I am using Helium - App Sync and Backup. No need to be rooted
thanks guys
If rooted, Titanium Backup is a good option which backup apps to the core
an
I usually stick with Titanium Backup
Does it work without root?

Helium works well but some apps can't be restore via helium because of devs restrictions.
You need to install helium on your pc as well to get it working.
Helium is very long.
Best way is root and Titanium or nandroid manager, sorry for that.
Best regards
Franky
