Wierd. My Sprint Nav wouldn't get GPS and now Telenav 6 works great for me.
Try using a GPS app to clear your AGps. There are bugs in EC05 keeping stale GPS data. A reboot will usually clear it too.

Here is the thread with Mkasick's fixes and workarounds:

When I first downloaded Telenav it didnt work for me at all. After I reinstalled and redownloaded data it worked perfectly. I like it a lot more then Google Nav.

Odd thing u noticed with gps

Straight in Google maps would not find any satellites, then for giggle loaded up Sprint navigation and it locked on pretty quick. After that went into Google maps and was able to get satellites

That's pretty funny. I'm using the workaround that Aero1 posted and Cardio Trainer will never get a fix until I open Google Maps (immediate fix), close and reopen Cardio.
Very odd.
Ya it works always when u start sprint nav and it locks within 5 seconds usually!

Gps fix?

What did you do to make your GPS work better?
Could you be more specific? Like is yours not working on a particular Rom or what?

That could be maps, the dreaded "searching for GPS", refresh rates and dropped connections. Any roms better than others?
Maps app you could get mapdroyd it lets you save all maps locally. Spotty connection? I've never had that issue.. and rom I'm using cm7

I don't see how mapdroid would help me.
From what you said I assumed when you said maps that they weren't working or something

GPS Test Status with ERA V3.1

Just an FYI, using GPS Test Status from the Market and on the ERA EI22 V3.1 ROM, I got 5/5 satellite lock in about 10 seconds, from my basement (which normally has HORRIBLE service)

shouldn't this be in the ERA thread?

Its is, but thought it would be valuable in General, seeing as GPS seems to be the biggest prevailing issue with the new ROMS.
What about after several reboots? Does your gps still work?
What program are you using to check the # of satelights you connect to?

I have rebooted 3 or 4 times today and still get 5/5 locking very quickly. The app is GPS Test Status in the market, it is free.
GPS works like a charm...

GPS with 2.3.5

I updated my software that Sprint pushed roughly 2 wks ago. Using the new Telanav with 2.3, I realize it's more buggy. It takes long to load, often drops gps signal, and restarts whenever I get an incoming call. Anybody having these issues?

Should have never updated. To save battery Samsung cut back on satellite locks. Root with a custom kernel orf ROM with the GPS fix.

Clear the data and cache for that app, then "uninstall the update" and then reopen it and reinstall when prompted...or freeze the app after you root and use Google Nav instead!

Yes.that is his problem. Not Telenav. Telenav works fine. It is his GPS that locks up Telenav.

I've heard about the GPS Fix, but I can't find it. Any ideas where it is? The search didn't help me, I guess I haven't gotten the hang of the weird XDA search.
I have a stock rooted EI22.
Thanks!

Help needed__ remics 1.3 gps not working

Hey i am on remics 1.3 and my gps is no working.... it just stays on "searching for gps" in notification bar and could not determine my location with google maps.... i am using midnight kernel
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
I had this once. Not sure if this was what actually fixed it but what I did was download AngryGPS and GPS Aids. Then you use GPSAids to download XTRA files and run the GPS Doctor. Then run AngryGPS in TTFF test mode overnight.
It may also help to set GPS to MSBASED in AngryGPS.

Gps works for me on RemICS-1.3.
I did a factory reset before installing, if that matters...

Try using faster fix to set your region, then use gps aids, clear agps in settings, go outside, request update agps, then go to main gps aids screen and wait for a good fix (can take a couple of minutes first time) then subsequently you should get a good fix pretty fast.....mine takes 15 seconds
