Not able to authenticate with TrackID Server? - Xperia Arc General

Anyone else got this message at some point? I have no idea how this can be but somehow TrackID started refusing to work recently. Are there any app dependencies I should know about? First it tells me that it could not authenticate, then it goes on to say I have no network coverage, although I'm sitting right next to my WiFi Router.
Strangely enough, it wants to tell me about a lot of korean/japaneses/chineses (can't differentiate between the signs) artists in the GERMAN charts, and I'm like WTH? My guess would be that the program got corrupted somehow, if only I knew how.

I have the same issue, suspected it might have something to do with unlocking the bootloader

Someone mentioned b4 unlocking the bootloader will erase the drm files, thus making trackid not working..

I'm owner of unlocked and rooted Xperia Arc.
I was have the same problem, but yesterday my trackID start to work=) I don't now why this happend.
sorry for my bad english=)

How would that be possible if you are missing drm cerificates due to unlocking the boot loader or do you mean sim unlocked and rooted.
Im tempted to ring sony to see if they will allow me to keep my phone rooted and restore trackid for me. I like shazam but it takes longer to record a sample. Also I prefer track id as the gui looks smarter and has a larger database.
Bounty? for trackid

How can this happened? Have you do something to your phone recently?

At lease SE should mention which APP/software would stop working while users applying the unlock code.

Really, i don't understand nothing what happend with my track id, but now its don't working again=(

[Q] HTCsense.com

Hi everyone!
Do you got HTCsense.com working for you? well, i dont ...and ive tried all kinds off stuffs. howcome?
Ive oppened an account on HTCsense.com, and done the same through my phone.. registered my name, mail, number and so on which is required.
well, after all that done, i logg in to check if it works. My name is there, and number and so on...but when i try to call though the site...doesent work. says it cant connect.
And on the left side, where a map is supposed to be...its empty, and says i have to go to settings>locations>phone finder (or something in swedish) - which is allready checked in.
i can block my phone through the site...set a pin-code to unlock and so on - but nothing happens on my phone... its still unlocked!
So basicly:
Nothing works
- not to call
- not to find my phone
-not to block it
How do i do? i really need this funktion to work! ive tried DHD on SD, now on NAND...nut still the same...
if you got it working, please help!
Best regards

Im having same issue with the DL.DesireZ.v3.1.beta, Its a problem with the builds or roms not communicating properly with HTC.
[edit] Just re-checked and its now working fine except the HTCHub just keep getting error. Everything else now works fine though.
PS. Yu do know that you need a data connection or wifi for it to be able to communicate with phone dont you?
i dont have any data-contract with my operator ...but still, when i use wifi, still got no connection. this message appears in red:
"RingUnable to connect to your phone to make it ring."
dont know why..
well after looking around, i found this 3rd part app called Phone Locator Pro (also av. in Free) i Android Market...
if your phone gets stolen or something...you can track it with gps. got some nice extras like if they change the SIM, you get their number, locations, IMEI and so on...
I will use this until someone helps me to get HTCsense.com working properly...
Don't wait to get help. HTC sense is not working properly.
Sometimes I can download, sometimes it gives me an error...
With every build...
Sent from my DL DesireZ v2.6 using XDA App
I have the same issues running a NAND DHD. HTC hub for instance will say error can't connect, yet I'll get notifications saying new apps/widgets are available that'll download install but won't open, HTCsense.com like you say hasn't given Mr much luck either, I think the atheist is right in what he outlines
well ok, too bad..
i finally got the site to call my phone.. that finally works...
but still it doesent show on the map where the phone is located...
GPS is on, wifi too...that should do the job, but no...
guess i have to stick with what ive got...

loss of signal

Hi everyone,
my xperia arc lt15a has a problem since a week or so. I'm very concerned.
Everytime i shut the screen off, when i go to turn it back on, i see for a millisecond that on the top says emergency only, meaning that when the screen is off loses signal. Once i turn the screen on it gets the signal again. At the beginning it happened when i had it for long time in my pockets, but now its getting serious. It has US generic firm 4.0.2.A.0.42
Me too!.... Maybe its a firmware issue???
and if i go into About>battery use> graph.. it is mostly RED meaning NO SIGNAL over 60%
There is this problem going on with -56 baseband (which is present in the .283 and .42 firmware). Hopefully SE fix it fast...really fast.
oh thank god its not a hardware problem...anyway its very serious: this means that all the times the phone is on standby we loose messages and phone calls since it doesnt get signal!

Yep, it's a serious problem. Not only the one you mentioned, it is also leading to battery drain and the purpose of this device as a mobile phone is being defeated.
i can't belive sony ericsson is not taking care of it. i'm going to send an email to the support.
i have the same issue in miui rom
hey guys please tell me its not a hardware too, when I was on .368 with locked bootloader, it was normal, but after unlocking bootloader, and testing many roms, all roms, my wifi connect, but after few minutes, even it is connected, the internet become inexistent, everything that needs internet does not work, market says No connection, browser does not open pages, msn does not connect and so on. If I put wifi off, and on again, everything goes normal, but few minutes, like 5 or 10, it happens again, stay connect but no internet... some help please? Thnx anyway

This is serious but I must say I have not noticed this as a common problem.
Have you guys tried to reinstall/repair the phone software via either SEUS or PC Companion? If not please do and check if the problem remains.
If it does check if another SIM card makes any difference.
Keep me updated.
Its a sotfware problem , i haver .42 , in spain , and i`m having the same problem since .42 .
Wow, never would've noticed this if I hadn't come here. I have the same problem, LT15a with .42 in USA
Did anyone of you not have this problem before updating to .42? Has anything you've tried since you installed .42 helped (e.g. new sim card, sw repair etc.)?
We are rolling out the .58 software on some markets as I write this. Other markets will follow.
(I don't know which ones that have received it already or when it will come to a certain market.)
As soon as someone here with this problem gets this update, please let me know if this solved the problem or not.
If this is a bug in the .42 it will hopefully be fixed in this software.

I was using Singapore .145 firmware and didn't have any issues with reception, but since the day I upgraded to .42 the reception issue is there. Nothing could get rid of this issue and I noticed that it started with .283 itself.
Currently I'm using older baseband (-36 from .368 firmware) with the new firmware .42 and it's fantastic and stable without that buggy reception problem.
Note: Honestly I don't know whether you are really from SEAnswers, but I'm replying in a hope to get this fixed .
I know many arc in spain with the same problem .... so ...
Same reception problem
I have the same reception problem in Morocco since last update, sometimes i need to disable WCDMA in network options to solve the issue
yeah, i had one night this issue, 70% of battery drained to 5-6% wlan on, sync on. i think 7-8 hours.
and this day, 40 mins internet on with sync, mp3 1 hr headphone.
and batt. temperature 40°C and phone was hot.
10 min display on. and i havent run any app except fb and browser.
Try .368
I had this on both .42 and .58. Reception was terrible.
Have "down-graded" to .368 and I have perfect reception everywhere.
Whereas before I'd stopped using my phone for anything that required Data. Now am bock on Facebook and Twitter with avengance!
Its like a new phone.
Hope this helps others...
I have made a small patch for properly using baseband -36 in other firmwares.
Check it out.

Bypass Lock Screen

I'm not sure if anyone noticed this but I stumbled across this at the end of last weekend. It's quite simple to bypass any lock screen on the XPeria Z, I emailed Sony but no response so it's probably something we should be aware of.

Have you tried that? I'm running .434 firmware and I can't simulate that. When I click on the NFC, I'm back to the PIN screen.
Maybe we can install some security app to stop the easily bypass.
Ooooh snap! Works on my phone.
My phone is rooted. So maybe it works only on rooted phones? I'm using the latest firmware (434)
Edit:
Ok gave it several tries.
When you use the exploit, the phone won't lock again till you restart or change the lock screen.
Can anybody else confirm this?

If you have the pattern, password or face lock, this will work. But it doesn't work if you use pin lock.
When you use the exploit, the phone won't lock again till you restart or change the lock screen.
So for the time being, use the pin lock.

It works for me with PIN. One important thing I've noticed when showing this to people is once you've done it once I seems to screw up the locking. Once you've done it the lock button then doesn't show the security screen and if you press home it will. Also once you've done it once you have to force close all of the test windows and actually unlock your phone by press home then unlocking, It's quite wierd what happens after
Another thing is when I first found this it was on one of the other service tests, I think maybe wifi but the NFC was the easiest one I found so it may be possible to activate it in other ways.
As said in a reply once you have done the exploit you must do the following to get it back to non-exploit state
Press the home button
Unlock your phone normally
Preset the task management button
clear all of the service test windows
You're right, works with PIN also.
Hope Sony update the firmware soon.
Non rooted unit here. Updated to 434 and can replicate the problem
Hope get fixed in updates soon...
Interestingly I can't reproduce this exploit! Well, it's good, but wondering why!!
Works here like a charm, unlocked rooted and on stock release ROM.
I laughed great find!
Also note: you can use any of the mini apps without using the nfc diag.
PS: Does this work on any Sony phone that contains the sevice menu?
Kind regards, Stefan.
Does this happen to the Xperia Z with .434 stock ROM? I have tried on the pin lock but it will not unlock even though I key in any numbers or the OK button.
People if the exploit is working for you, hit the "Tip us" button to get Sony's attention faster.

I can indeed confirm this.
After using it for 3 or 4 times phone refuses to lock + home button no longer works.
Instead of that it brings you to homescreen, it flashes the screen once and nothing happens.
Also still love how you can use mini apps from anywhere in this menu.
A lot of fixing is to be done here.
First root exploit via this menu and now this.
Kind regards, Stefan.
I can confirm this too.

[Q] My wifes G2 was remotely Hacked

Has this happened to anyone elses G2? I am on verizon with 4.4.2 update and not rooted. He had complete control of her phone. Was writing me messages and kept opening pics of my 4 yr daughter. I diconnected the wifi and mobile data. He still had control of the phone. Then I factory reset it and he still was on it. Verizon is sending me a new phone and getting a new sims card. Is there a way from stoping this from happening?
I truly dont believe though that when you switched off network that someone can still connect. Anyways:
firstly, recap if the phone was ever left unattended, letting someone install something on it.
Dont do that, even if if it has a password on it, anyone not looking away when entering it on the street can see what the pincode/password is.
Apps not from play store, dont install. Ever.
Change all passwords on a safe medium (multiple antiviris vendors scanned) of wifi router, to anything, including recovery questions, make them different and non logical or affiliated to you.
Run virus scans on computer and or any medium that ever connected phone.
Then check apps/websites of mail and such for activity, likely activity at times you didnt use any of the services. Anyway facebook and such lets you close open sessions anywhere.
That should do the trick. And big tip dont get paranoid Just ponder how somehow got acces.
I find it hard to believe that someone could still control the device after a factory reset. Highly unlikely I would say.

1. I really doubt this happened.
2. After disconnecting wifi and mobile data, it would be impossible
3. Factory reset would definitely make it impossible
4. It's more likely that the touch screen is having phantom touches
I had issues with phantom touches on my Optimus G. Drove me batty. Some days it was impossible to use the phone, as the touches were all registering in the bottom half of the screen where the keyboard appears. So random letters would be inserted into words.
Turned out to be a driver issue with the custom kernels in some of the ROMs is using.
Factory reset and being more selective in the kernels I ran fixed the issue.
If it's still happening after a factory reset, then you have a defective touchscreen. Replace the phone under warranty.
Typos courtesy of my LG G2 (D803) running Mahdi-ROM.
I really have no reason to lie to you guys. The messages stopped after I disconnted the internet but the screen was still jumping around. That is why i figured he still had access.
I just received the new phone today. Should I go ahead and get a new sims card or I be ok with the old one?

its possible, if he were root and had something installed as system app.
also you can set stuff like tasker to autimaticaly turn network back on.
what did the messages say, cause if they were gybrisch then it seems like phantom touches.

I would, you could have the old encryption method on the sim card which would make it easier to root the card. But I am guessing what happened to your wife was something more like an AndroRAT exploit.
It could be possible seeing as all you need is a phone number to find your location by txt msg, and that can be done silently without you ever knowing.
Seems it's a built in part of the RADIO AT that providers can use, if you're on the inside and know how it works it'd be a doddle, but if the txt msgs were gibberish I'd go with the majority with faulty touchscreen/drivers and nothing to worry about
Bashing away at my HTC Desire C
Tell to the hacker to try to hack my phone instead, I don't care. I will shoot exclusively for him a pic of my arse as award if he manages to hack it and he can print it, or try to sell to the newspapers.
BTW, I'm not so anxious about apps not installed directly from Play Store. You can easily check or restrict the permissions of any app as root user. I never yet faced the problems.

Thanks for the reply but sorry, I'm not convinced.
3 independent people with nokia phones have seen this behaviour. 2 of them I know don't visit sketchy sites or install sketchy apps. While maybe they could all have been caught out by the same malware, there's no reference to it that I can find on the whole wide internet. You'd think someone with an android phone would have spotted this.
Have you checked your logs? Is yours doing the same?
Anyone else able to see easily what's going on on their network and confirm/deny?

IMO, you ought to provide some evident how naughty it is rather than promote some software (pi-hole) and ask wherever you want for other people to confirm.
On the other hand, I've installed Net Monitor and I had saw quite a few connected servers to my brand new device, add up with locked bootloader, I have no doubt that HMD/Google might have been collected informations on my physical device, they're still own the device's software as long as they keep the bootloader locked.
Although, if you're pro-privacy/oriented person, using a phone with a sim card on, not to mention using Android from Google, then you're doing it wrong.

3gppnetwork.org belongs to GSM Association. Mobile network code 0xx is reserved for testing purposes, so mnc020.mcc234.pub.3gppnetwork.org may collect some cellular telemetry.
Not sure re foxconn though. I dont see my ta-1025 ever connecting to these sites. Wonder if it's firmware specific.
I visited c2dms.com and it looks like some outsource-y cloud telemetry service.
Meanwhile, searching for "caivs" brings back some, er, unsavoury results about Chinese phones automatically sending SMSes and costing users money. But according to this thread it's just a kind of identification service for manufacturers to control sales. That forum along with this link is quite old so maybe it's just a coincidence, but my Nokia 6 does have an app called Caivs.

I agree. Wasn't trying to promote anything, just explaining how it came to my attention.
The colleague mentioned did some more digging and it looks like encrypted XMPP traffic.
Force-stopping the caivs and com.qti.service.colorservice apps has no effect, but meh, worth a try.
From the other thread "since the update there is an app caivs. it sends the geo-data in regular intervals. caivs - cloud - ww. c2dms. is spyware. you can't delete or disable it. Cheek! "
I raised it with Nokia support and they told me I shouldn't install malware.
