Huh... well that's interesting. Too bad it doesn't have paypal checkout, then I'd have gone for it and not have to worry about it being legit or not. Anyone that can verify this??

I wouldnt trust a company that opts out of resellerratings.
They seems to have poor ratings as it is and they no longer participate for the same. I wont risk it.

Give them a call or check out their location. That's the only way to really tell.

but $499 instead of pounds plus next day delivery is so very tempting.. lol

I know in Manhattan, there are a lot of shady electronics stores, but I read many folks favoring Electroprise and and many where folks warned to stay away from the owners of this store, lol. I don't know what's best. I can't call them right now since I'm out of town, but if there is anyone in the vicinity that can confirm, that would be great.

as I said in another thread, I called and they said they were out of stock. Told me to check back Monday.
Sounds very sketchy

Of course it's tempting, that's the idea.
Think about it for a second. $500.00 for a phone of this caliber that's not even available in the states.
You'll never see the phone from them, not in a million years.

Its being disused here in USA: Where to Pre-Order?

I know how you feel, and in India it's just about the same as the UK. Something is fishy here, isn't it? $499 dollars is darn cheap. Can we be sure the store-manager did not mistaken 499 pounds as dollars when he priced the darn device in the first place?
BTW, the specifications (with old information) are directly pasted from GSMArena!

There still seems to be some question as to whether the phone will have all the 3G bands on all of the devices. Expansys said theirs is dual band. Havn't seen any confirmation on this anywhere yet and its something you might want to check before you drop coin.

oh well if its not in stock then no point cause clove and other guyswill have it early next week anyway. although if this was reliable it'd be $200 cheaper.

i see they priced Optimus 2x and Xperia arc more? Hmm fishy..

Definitely the EVO. I've had BAD experiencies with Samsung build quality in the past, so I'm staying away from them. Plus, it's not a HTC device, so it won't be on XDA! That cancels the Samsung out right away.

My fingers are too big for the keyboard on the hero so the 4.3 screen on the EVO sounds awesome but Sprint really screwed things up with the EVO in terms of the extra 240 that customers have to pay for purchasing one as well as the upload speed caps and disabling of of the HDMI out.
I like the hardware on the Samsung if it lives up to the hype of being the fastest android device on the market. Also if the increase in battery life can be achieved this should be one impressive phone. I could do with out the slide out keyboard though, so I would prefer that the Galaxy S come to Sprint as opposed to the S pro.
There is a thread somewhere in the forum that says the S pro is coming with 4G if that is the case then this is serious competition to the EVO though I still really like sense...can sense be put on a samsung phone?

When you purchase an EVO they take on an extra $10/month fee to what ever your existing plan's cost is. Since most people upgrade their phone every two years in order to get the discount this amounts to an extra $240 for the cost of the phone. Note I say cost of the phone because Sprint does assert that this extra $10 fee is not for 4G but rather is for hardware features of the phone such as the "super fast 1Ghz processor and large 4.3in screen"
The EVO is capable of HDMI out through a mini USB to HDMI cable. This would allow people to connect their phones to their HDTVs. Initially I was really excited about this because it would mean that you could stream SprintTV and other web content to your phone and watch it on a larger screen. Unfortunately it was reported that the HDMI out on the phone was going to be disabled for all content other then photos and video taken with the on board camera :-( I am not sure who is at fault for this but it is just one more example of how us costumers here in the US get screwed over by someone :-((

Are you going to buy this phone? Why?
________________________________________________________
Definitely want to buy this phone. It's spec blow out any other phone on the market, including the Atrix.
The Atrix will not stand up to this device, and the only thing going for the Atrix is the Laptop Dock, which in my opinion is not worth it because alone it is $500 for the dock, and there are much better netbooks for that price, or tablets for that matter.
Now, I am waiting for this device to come out in the US, but it probably will not for some time. It seems as though it is coming out in Europe first, and if I order it from over there, the websites are listing preorders at $650+. If it comes to US, it will probably be a bit cheaper, but not much. It wouldn't really matter either way because I do not have an upgrade so however I can get my hands on this thing, I'm going to do it at the cheapest price.
From the looks of it, websites are saying March 4th or 5th release in UK, and 2nd quarter release in US. If it's that soon in UK, I'd order it from there, but I probably won't have the money right away. Also, I don't know if I'm losing/gaining anything by buying the European version. Usually when it comes to the US, whatever company it goes to adds all its bloatware and so I'd be happy without it. Because chances are it will go to AT&T(Considering it has AT&T's 3G) and they seem to preload a bunch of their apps on Android phones.
That's all me though, I wanna see what others think.
What I would like to know is, will the SGS2 will be released in a USA version like the first SGS (Vibrant, Fascinate etc.)..?
Never found info about that..
In the videos, people have snapped off the back to reveal a 1500 mah battery. Samsung claims it will be a 1650 mah in the final product, but I am still concerned that it is just talk since there doesn't look to be anymore room in a thin device like this, unless the batteries are the same size. Another question is why HTC devices usually have 1350 or 1400 mah batteries, not the standard 1500 mah that other phones have, and whether certain phone companies have exclusivities of some kind with the battery tech. Or maybe it is just deliberate mislabeling and HTC is being conservative.
I want to see a review first, 2 things that worry me about this phone:
Battery Life
Processor
No one seems to be able to confirm either spec at the moment, and that is a little troublesome. I don't know how power efficient the screen or the mystery processor is, so I would want to see some hands on experience with that, and I'd want to know what is inside, whether or not it is a lottery as to which one you get, and if it is Samsung's Exynos then how well it stacks up against Tegra2. If Samsung has been a little more transparent about the hardware then it wouldn't have been a problem, but the fact they are keeping it under wraps means one of two things: the Exynos is amazing and the retails version will blow everything out of the water or more likely that they are having trouble with it, be it reliability or supply issues, and will substitute it certain markets for a similar equivalent.

They say the screen is more efficient than the old superamoled, and I believe them. I don't see any good reason for Samsung to lie about modest efficiency improvements. The processor uses the same ARM9 cpus that the Tegra does, and several other chips as well, so they are all about equal. Even if they release a different chip for secondary markets, all the chips are about equal like I said before, so unless you are obsessed about a small percentage difference or a few points, it really isn't worth worrying about.

Actually, I believe Eldar Murtazin (the author of the article) is a respectable phone reviewer. He gets phones from manufacturers to test way ahead of time (eg in this case, he got the Galaxy S II in November 2011 way before CES).

cant wait ^_^
Another nice feature is the micro USB connector on the bottom, which will make possible docks..

hi, I'am sure I'll buy this phone as soon as it will show up in Poland.
Now I'm usung an old and erroring Nokia e65.
I want a phone that:
- has good camera with LED
- can record high quality videos
- is fast enough for various games
- plays music clean (galaxy s also was great in this case)
- has USB OTG and streams high quality media! (together with external hard disc it can be a portable HD video player ^^)
- runs Android
I was concerned about HTC DHD, what's more I bought it in November!
But I was fooled and didn't received my device. It took about 3 months before I got my money back... but hey! as I heard about SGS2 I want it now more than I wanted DHD
cheers, Wojtek

I don't understand why people pre-order, you're still going to have to wait until the phone is released to get your hands on it. At the most it saves you one or two days but makes you spend a lot more than the retail price.

[Q] New version of the S7 tablet coming to Best Buy?

Just found this new version of the S7 here listed at Best Buy: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Huawei+...hite/2502034.p?id=1218330753939&skuId=2502034
Apart from the switch to a capacitive display are there many changes here?
great i've been waiting for it. Does it have 3G? Didin't see that in the specs maybe i missed it.
Looks like this new one comes with a 1Ghz processor instead of the 768MHz of the old model. These are the bands and modes it supports:
UMTS.HSPA 850/1900/2100MHz, GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz
Can anyone tell me if this supports T-Mobile 3G or is it just AT&T?
For $299 this may not be too bad. Going to wait and see what price the Acer 7in comes in at though.
A little more info. This new device is apparently called the S7 Slim. A much nicer looking device then the oringinal.
Here is a link to a video for the device:

just left best buy and though the new s7 had noticebly huge improvements like the processor and screen....we left with an Acer a500 for $150 more.
CPU is 1G now. I got one in China.
It works with WCDMA here in UK.
Not sure about GPU.

hi everyone,
can anyone verify if the s7 slim from BB has phone functionality and you can actually put a SIM in it. I'm on Tmobile with a data plan and was planning on getting this. thanks in advance.
nick714
It does have the spot for the card...but it is blocked by a piece of foam. I was unwilling to take it out after failed attempting to just pull it out with tweezers...it looked like pulling the case off might be required to get the foam out.
Huawei S7 Slim $299 from best Buy
I just pick one myself $299 + tax at Best Buy WITHOUT contract.
And it has slot for GSM however the 3G only work with ATT,Tmobile you will stuck on Edge network.
If you are on T Mobile better use tethering from your phone to get 3G speed. (Cost $100 extra and need to send tablet back to huawei)
There are free apps from huawei to download to make this as cell-phone.
Its definitely slimmer than the original S7. best Buy staff doesnt even know how much ram it has and they dont advertise it on the specs either.
I just test it only has 256 RAM for user access
Does this device have usb hosting mode? Can I plug a mouse or a flash drive in it through an otg usb adapter?

WIFI: B/G/N ( Doesnt want to pick up with my N router signal only pick up G signal)
Bluetooth
Built-in:accelerometer

Problem:
When you turn on for the first time (even connected through wifi) it doesnt want to connect to any google server ie: market and etc.
keep stating no data connection.
Work around:
do factory reset with data wipe and reboot.
Connect wifi and set up your market straight away within 10 minutes.
DO NOT I repeat DO NOT install any type of launcher since it will soft brick the tablet. Huawei doesnt support third party launcher (weird they didnt block it from the market)
If you install different launcher and activate it, once you reboot you wont be able to do anything on the screen. The screen will rotate ok but you cant select/tap anything basically making it useless.
You cant even turn off the tablet without removing the battery.
In order for you to get it working again either Flash the rom, or if you have set the USB debugging mode prior instalation, you can use ADB to remove the 3rd party launcher and reboot (Boy I was lucky to turn on the USB debugging).
For $299 the Hardware is not bad (even when Best buy trying to cut corner).
The display also good and has a good viewing angle (Compare to Nook color which I rated 10/10, this one got 8/10 and much better than Viewsonic G tablet 5/10 )
The stock launcher only work in landscape mode (home) and take so much RAM with no other application running I can only get 102mb free memory the most.
I tested with Zeam launcher the free memory goes up to 205mb, however this is a NO NO since you wont be able to access the device (with 3rd party launcher) after reboot.
If you have audible sound selected you will hear the speaker chirp whenever you touch the screen and becoming very annoying.
This tablet is one powerfull machine with affordable price however the software and stock launcher are buggy and crappy. Unless someone develop a custom ROM to unleash this monster, this tablet will go back to Best Buy next week.

Just noticed
http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?in...760W_Product&utm_campaign=NewArrivals_28apr12
for $129 (shipped) at geeks.com, evertek.com has it at $118 (shipping?).
seems very cheap for ICS with a capacitive display and the full google apps with market.
Anyone know anything about it?

It seems like that it is only free shipping for those that in the States. I tried for Canada and it asked me to pick a shipping method.
Has anybody made an account with Evertek? If so should I just make up some names and numbers for the account since it seems like it is for businesses only.

Geeks.Com and Evertek are actually the same company.
Geeks.Com is their retail outlet, while Evertek is their wholesale distribution company.
To do business with Evertek you need to talk to a live person on the phone and setup your account initially, including faxing proof of having an official business (Tax documents, reseller permits, etc).
I've had an account with Evertek for the past 12 years, but if you are buying small quantities, it's usually cheaper to buy from Geeks due to free shipping and other promotions (Evertek also leverages a $10 fee for all orders under $100)
EXPANSYS USA has these for $109.99 with free shipping!

Cheap indeed but for that price I would suggest an Ainol with better specs for around the same price, eg: Elf II, Aurora (IPS) or Aurora II (IPS) when it comes out.
Some Chinese made tablets isn't as cheaply made as a lot of people think. Ainol has very good build quality & specs.

What do you think?
What a coincidence! I came across this watch for the first time today and found this thread when I started browsing about it.
It looks like a nice watch for only $29! I am really considering jumping in on the pre-sale...
Have you found any other info about it or "real-life" pictures?
Anyway, here is the manufacturers own productpage: http://ulefone.com/products/uwear/features.html
And the Gearbest productpage: http://www.gearbest.com/smart-watches/pp_225970.html
The pre-sale lasts untill 09/30 so I expect that reviews will pop up around that time.
The price has temporarily dropped to $23 at Gearbest:
http://www.gearbest.com/smart-watches/pp_225970.html
At the moment there are still 63 pieces left.
I just ordered one over at everbuying. With the points and crap i had from ptevious purchases i got it for 18 usd. Couldnt resist at that price even tough i have another chinese smartwatch on the way.
Great! Let us know what you think about it when you get it!

Absolutely. However it wont even be shipped until ist launched on the 30th, and then four-five weeks until it arrives. My packages always have to take a detour to greece for some strange reason...
check their Facebook page....today they have uploaded video of this Smartwatch
where is it?
I think its this one.
http://blog.ulefone.com/video-full-preview-of-ulefone-uwear-the-bluetooth-smartwatch/
disappointing UI
Mhh.... Wish I had seen that video before ordering. Payed 23usd,didn't expect much but the UI is embarrassing (suppose that's why they tried to focus on other things in the video.... and that's why there aren't any real-life pictures or videos beside that. At least I haven't seen other).
It would be embarrassing for me to go out with that on my wrist. That's not a smart watch, that's a crappy dumband with a screen made to look like a watch(the apple watch). The market is full of crap like that selling for ~ same price, offering same functions. Nothing new under the sun.
Not really a fan of pre-sale but the low price got me this time.
Shipping starts after sep 30 and will probably arrive at the end of next month....not a problem after seeing the video.
Dont think it that horrible really. Its 23 bucks. I got mine for 18. You cant have everything. This will be fine for me to wear at work with all the chemicals and ****. Its gonna break anyway better this than the 200 dollar moto 360 i'm looking at.
I'm more annoyed by the ****ty screen. They could've at least managed a 240x240 like the GT08, and that isnt much more expensive.
Haha, there were so many bad comments about the UI that Ulefone blocked commenting on their youtube video...

Well, to tell you the truth I was more angry with myself for buying something without seeing at least one real life video & generally falling for such a cheap marketing campaign(I have to admit that the ulefone/gearbest/everbuying campaign was quite impressive in terms of "quantity")
When I said "embarrassing" that also included the ****ty screen.
Anyway, everbuying agreed to cancel my order/full refund.
I got the uwear yesterday. It is actually very Nice and it works .
For the that price it is amazing.
I ll test more of it this week and report back.

Is the screen that bad?

Hi. U get notifications of SMS, WhatsApp, gmail, Facebook. I don't have exchange email, but I am sure it will put it through. But, you get only name and title of message, not the entire message. Only for SMS you get the entire message.
The app, fundo companion(registers health information, and needs Chinese registration...), is still in beta, and has bugs. So I removed it. Now i only use BT notifier.
Funny gadget, battery lasts a few hours, and I will not get used to talk to my watch
