Motorola email receieved - Atrix 4G General

Just got an email notifying me about some stuff I (and some of you) may have signed up for.
It has some very interesting developments that I believe some people may not be too pleased with.

Where did this email originate? Was it an internal AT&T email?

Dammit, I meant Motorola, sorry D:
It came from the same method as the previous one.

I love updates.

Mods can we please close this thread? The update and all emails, notifications, and anything regarding it are covered under NDA and should not even be mentioned here.

wow...really? thread deletion in 10, 9...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1043881

If you guys even had an ounce of common sense, you would realise I did not even come close to breaking the agreement. I simply stated that I received an email regarding the update!

read that email again, slowly this time.

Bah, quite silly they are. I certainly don't remember that line from previous ones. Anyway, I don't break anything now, nothing says I can't say I received an email ya see.

Yes, you are. The email you received is under NDA, mentioning you even received something that's under an NDA is a breach. Keep discussion in the appropriate forums in compliance with the NDA.

It would be breaking NDA to state the NDA, but I can assure you that the way I worded this post entails no breaking of the NDA.

Maybe you should re-read sentences 2 and 3 of that again... which the very first line of your first post in this thread breaks....
Again.... locky locky?

You violated the NDA. No ifs ands or buts

You're all awfully obnoxious about this all.

OP, read it a 2nd time? Or have someone read it to you?

I reworded it a billion times just for you.
For all you know, this email is about a fun party for atrix owners.
You can't come.

I received the email also. It's scary that it statutes we won't be able to flash back to previous versions of the software;-( I hope it is worth it

Are Tweets to @samsungukmobile being Ignored

Guys,
I posted a message in the topic 'The best way to convey your message to Samsung is via Facebook' see Post 14.
In that post I mentioned messages I am sending to @samsungukmobiles are not appearing on their web page here.
This now makes me believe that someone at Samsung is deliberately ignorinf the tweets being sent.
Given that I was told Samsung use Twitter as their prime message conveyer I am wondering what the heck is going on.
I've sent off a message to Samsung but as of yet I've not heard anything back from them.
Therefore, what I would ask of you is those that have a Twitter account, could you please send off a tweet to @samsungukmobile and afterwards look to see if it appears on their twitter page.
Again their twitter page is here.
Could you please post back stating either yes your message was added to their twitter page, or no, it was not added.
The more tweets that are cancelled the stronger my argument with them.
This way I will know one way or another if the problem is my end.
Thanks
Beards
It will not get added to their page, it will be added to your own page showing that you have sent them a tweet. It will however appear in their time-line that they see privately along with the other hundreds of tweets they are bound to receive every month.

So the messages from other users (not Froyo related) that are displayed on their twitter page... how come they are generated?
EDITED:
Just realized, the messages from other users are simply Samsungs replies.
Okay, it then proves Samsung are merely not bothering to reply to any of the tweets being sent yes.

Nail on the head
Great....
If anyone else can make a tweet to Samsung and lets see if they too are ignored.
With the results I'll have further ammo to blast back at Samsung.
that's the difference in nature between Tweeter vs. Facebook
Tweeter is like a 1 way communication, it only shows what the account owner types in the page
Facebook is 2 way, you can post stuff directly into their Wall, the account owner can delete the stuff if they choose to, but if they care, they will leave it there and reply back to it, or simply ignore it.
i sent a tweet to samsung uk as a test, let see if they get back to me
Is there anything in particular you would like me to ask them? Just incase they do reply, you would have a useful answer

Yes please..... Ask them:-
"It has been mentioned quite a lot of replies to @samsungukmobile are being ignored. Proof of this is shown at @samsungukmobile where there has not been any replies nor comments since the 20th Sep".
It's a long tweet so I'll leave it to you to abreviate as you see fit.
Thanks.

EDITED:
Just noticed Samsung have actually posted a tweet....... Their first since 20th Sep.
Unfortunately it has NOTHING to do with any of the issues we are talking about.... It's to do with the Galaxy Tab where they are asking readers to Check out iGizmo's piece on the Galaxy Tab, which basically is yet another marketing plan.

On a same note ~ I've posted many, many times on the UK Facebook and just the same... NOTHING back from Samsung to either declare or defend the posts.
I didn'd receive a response either, although my tweet was a bit harsh so it's to be expected, LOL

I've sent a few messages over the past few days but nothing back off them. Methinks their continued insistence that froyo was coming at the end of the month was wrong and they are now keeping their heads down.

I decided to tell Motorola the truth

I Have been talking with moto reps and people all week, and also a few friends with moto to solve some of our problems *fingers crossed* but i Know that personally i am at a cross roads with the device and i wont even have it till tomorrow lol so i decided to write in to Moto here https://supportforums.motorola.com/thread/45249?tstart=0
as well as applied to every development program and testing thing they had, if you are like me and will more than likely return the device no matter how nice it is if we or they dont come up with a solution before the 30 day return period i encourage you to do the same. I do ask though you appeal to a pleasant tone and leave the brute force method for the dev attempt to fix the problem
I think this is a good step, but I don't believe motorola will listen to people on their forums. When they decided to use signed/encrypted bootloaders, they were no doubt aware that some people would get angry and complain. That post was expected and as such probably won't make too many waves.
What if it wasn't just a single post? What if we got as many members as possible to post on Motorolas forum with their thoughts on the signed bootloaders? Good or bad idea?

well thats my idea... also i am speaking with my wallet as well, i have a total of 4 Atrix's for my self and family/friends tomorrow they will all return if i return more people need to do the same ... if they sell 2 million first month an return 1 million the second month they will listen

sort of... basically my number in last post are hugely glorified truth is they are right that people that care about bootloader are minority compared to over all sales that being said they wont notice if simply didn't purchase there device, would it hurt them yes, but over all they prob dont need us to survive, but how ever if we were to purchase than return they would have to take notice as to why 15% of pre ordered devices got returned with in the 30 day period
High level techs are a minority.
Also awaiting a response from Motoguy on the forum there. Wish you would have posted the original comment so we wouldnt have to wait for this guys return and comments.

Um, if that is the case Motorola is marketing to a small amount of people. You also have to consider that when I say high level techs i'm talking about those that frequent a forum such as this and others. There are not many of us compared to the general consumer population. Hence forth you get the statement where if you are looking to mod you should look elsewhere. You have to realize that we (the high level techs) represent a small fragment of the general public.

Did he quit because of the HTCClay ordeal? If so All those folks went to rootzwiki.com
His kernel thread was closed due to a lack of source being provided, in order to keep the site compliant with the law. Some jerk took that to mean he was banned or punished or in some way unwelcome at XDA, which is false. The OP deserves a nice temp ban for having such a glaring attitude towards the administrators here at XDA who are doing their best to keep this site running. But, for someone with one post, I can't see that doing any good. Best to just ignore the troll till the admins remove this thread.

That actually seems reasonably fair... Everyone is angry at Acer for doing that, I don't see why Thor should be held to a different standard. Having said that, his kernel was great... I hope he comes back and plays according to the rules.
With any luck this was all a big misunderstanding, and he just hadn't started a GIT yet but was about to, or something like that.
I mean his kernel was up a few days only, you couldnt have given him some more time to explain or something?
This is the guy that got Clockwork for EVERYBODY for ****s sake...
And its impossible to put a price tag on how important it is.

As I say, let's just hope this was all a big misunderstanding. Thor was asked for his source a few times in that thread, and he never responded to those requests publicly. I don't know what happened behind the scenes though, as you say. Perhaps a mod can clarify?
Of course they would... They ban all the best devs over stupid $h*t. Android is "open source" but now we say he was banned for not including source? Thanks conan keep up the great work...

Wtf is this s%%%???
First there's not even ONE mod to sticky the important threads and now some N00B comes to play sheriff in town and kick the DEV who brought CLOCKWORKMOD to ICONIA out?
Who the F%%% is this brilliant MOD???
WHY the F%%% don't you CLOSE ALL 3.1 topics and ask acer for a 3.1 source?
EVER HEARD OF ASKING? NICELY?
Thor was rebuilding his kernel from ground up anyway.
WTF? is this XDA OR CCCP?
Mod who bans = CONANTROUTMAN... Send all requests to him ;-)
Sent from my My Touch 4G using XDA Premium App
Please post the C&D if it REALLY was a legal thing
Seriously? Because he hasn't had time to post the source up? Really?
This isn't anything new even here on XDA, and as far as being legally compliant, show us the cease and desist order, please. In any event that's no cause to get a poster banned and XDA had plenty of occurrences on significantly less open platforms where they didn't ban the poster, but locked the content due to C&Ds.
Thor did significant amounts of work here to get us what we want. Acer and pretty much 100% of corporate industries are limited to what they can do or say because of much greater liability of what they produce. One user/fan/coder posting here not so much liability as none of it is anywhere near official.
So, again please post the C&D
Even if he was being a total jackass and blurted out obscenities AT mods, a temp ban would all that it would warrant.
CONANTROUTMAN banned him or CONANTROUTMAN is in charge of mods overdoing their job?
Who banned him?
This is crazy about one month ago we didn't have recovery, Then Thor arrived and fixed that he is very important to the development of the a 500, Lets hope this is temporary, Without devs like Thor we get nowhere on our devices, I have seen in the past when devs have fights with mods the devs leave for good. Its almost like they get jealous of the work they do.

You didn't cite a rule or even a reason until I prompted you.
How does that help the op to just tell him not to post this, but give no reason why? I honestly thought you were implying that the users wouldn't like it beccause its an affiliate link. You never mentioned a single rule in your first post to him.

Bootloader Unlock Petition for Amazon Fire

Going to be creating a petition as an attempt to somehow get us a unlock for the device. I will update this periodically in the coming days and weeks.
Here is the link to the petition I have made.

Look, I never agree with the guy, but Davey126 explained to you in the other thread. Even if you acquired an unobtainable amount of signatures, somehow got it in front of someone that mattered, and forced them to read it, they would ignore it. Plain and simple. If they wanted to unlock the bootloader, they would have done it at release. Oh, but a bunch of nerds want me to do it so they can sidestep the OS we designed for it. Look at the petition for the S5: 1400 signatures and didn't make a difference. The same can be said for every device this has been attempted with. I wish it weren't true, it's just not ever going to amount to anything...

You can ask google for meaning of a word
petition meaning
a formal written request, typically one signed by many people, appealing to authority in respect of a particular cause.
"she was asked to sign a petition against plans to build on the local playing fields"
synonyms: appeal, round robin, list of signatures/protesters
"about 7,000 people signed a petition objecting to the scheme"
