hello!
here is the full review http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i9000_galaxy_s-review-478.php
is says that it has 265MB ram... but since it was the beta version
samsung said that the market version will get 512MB
watch the preformance compared 2 desire
hope thats is a satisfying
here is the link
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_confirms_that_i9000_galaxy_s_will_have_512_mb_ram-news-1682.php for confirming the 512Mb RAM
thats a sexy phone im gettin the evo 4g but if this comes to tmobile ill make my sister get it and switch accounts :]
Fairly positive words on the TouchWiz customization, so I'm looking forward to playing with that.
Curiously they say no free GPS app, which is odd since its Android, you can just install Waze from the market, the totally free, crowd sourcing GPS system with real-time traffic info gathering, one of the coolest ideas ever.

well gsmarena compares the phone with every phone in the market...since some nokia phones got free nav.....they will compare all phones with the free gps software since nokia started it.

I'm currently using an HD2 Leo so when I receive my i9000 I'll have both sitting side by side.
If I was going to get a new Android phone to replace my G1, the Galaxy S will be my choice..
Reasons:
Super AMOLED
1GHZ Hummingbird CPU (Faster than Qualcomm Snapdragon)
Better Multi Touch Capacitive Screen (No Lag in Multi touch like seen in the EVO 4g test video)
Most videos I have seen of 1ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon powered phones, the scrolling and zooming in the browser is choppy, while the 1ghz Samsung Hummingbird powered Galaxy S was smooth like butter, and games also has higher framerates.

Same! but also I love the 8gb internal and 720p videp
Remains to be seen if the 720p video capture is any good (looks a bit choppy on the prototypes), but the video playback looks fine.

Oh yeah, I was sooo tempted to buy the Desire. 6 weeks ago I was thinking there's no way I can hold out this long. A friend has the Desire and it is a great phone, but you cant see whats on the screen when its sunny.
Plus we just got a shiny new Samsung 3DTV in the office (which is also super slim) Looking forward to hi-jacking the control of that with my phone

This I can relate to and was one of the many reasons I chose the i9000 as I have at home a few Samsung TV's, one being a large Series 8 LED TV which will make DLNA content useful.
Hi! I am new at forum
I really like mobile tehnologies, and i want to bought new phone with Android.
Wildfire looks great, has very good hardver. but there is one problem,a resolution. Is this really big problem? Can i play a games and have a more good apps on that resolution? And price is 250euros. Is this so much?
What you say? Wildfire or something else like Galaxy 3,spica i5700?
Please help me!
P.S. sorry for bad English
well.. the resolution is not that good. because my friend had an iPhone4.. so i cant give my opinion here.. because we cant compare our wildfire with.. iphone's resolution right.
other than that, i think it's quite worth for this price range. nice outfit, a home with 5 pages, a 3.2" TFT capacitive 16M colour screen, and our lovely android 2.1. haha. and if u go thru this forum, u can see how we people desperating for the 2.2 froyo updates =)
First,thank you for answer
But you not say me what about 3d games and other applications. can I install and use it?

3D games don`t work on the Wildfire, for those games buy a phone with GPU (a dedicated processor for graphics).
Most apps work on wildfire without problems, only graphic intensive apps or app that have not been updated don`t work.
What will you buy Htc Wildfire with bad resolution and Android OS or Samsung Wave with great hardvre but with Bada OS ?
Thanks for answer
i'm not a fan of samsung, it's as simple as that, i like htc.

but Wave have fantastic hardver and price is same like wildfire! but i dont like bada os.
and i dont now what to bye and what to do??
I don't play games on my phone but I do think the wildfire is the best of the cheaper android phones - that's why I bought one! Also it's really easy to root with unrevoked 3!

Nice phone, Good quality and design. Very satisfied.
poor hardware.. proccesor running at around 600mhz.. the hero (around 2 years old now) had a 750mhz processor, better resolution etc etc.. if you can afford.. go for a legend.. much better with a ARMv7 Snapdragon running at 1Ghz..

what os is it running? the wildfire has really good battery life, and if you don't care about 3d gaming, then it's the phone for you, and it has overclock kernel now anyway, runs smoothly . i don't know anything about the samsung phone xD. the resolution really isn't that bad for the wildfire.
and if you could afford the legend, go for the desire instead, as the desire is more worth the money.

why poor hardver? for this price hardver is well but only problem is resolution.
procesor is the same like Htc Hero
In my country Wildfire is 230 euro, and Legend is 360euro. This is so much to me...

Wait.. who lied to you?
Hero hada Qualcomm MSM 7200A 528 MHz processor.
Legend doesn`t have a snapdragon proc, it has a Qualcomm MSM 7227 600 MHz processor.

What will you do,buy Htc Wildfire with Android or Samsung Wave with better hardver but with BAda OS?
Or samsung galaxy 3,5, samsung i5700 or anyone else in this range
And what do you think about Sony Ericsson Xperia X8?
It is better than Wildfire??
Most people here will be biased towards Wildfire. Best thing to do is go to a phone shop and try out each model youre considering, and choose which one best suits you
I bought Wildfire yesterday and im realy satisfied with it. Before i had nokia 5800 and i have to say, android is awesome! Phone runs fast and smooth. You have tons of apps. I have to agree resolution is problem. You can still install games like roland garros or assassin creed (which are 320x480) but you will only see 4/5 of game, which is good enough to see controls and its playable.
Overall, in this price range, WildFire is KING
I use my wildfire for social that's bout it. Got custom recovery, rooted, n debranded from Vodafone runs alot smoother with overclock.
If you want gaming, a lot of net browsing then get another phone.
If you want it for just a phone, email and Facebook etc.then its a great little piece of kit.
Recommend downloading a custom keyboard as its a wierd one froyo update keyboard that I.tested was a lot better.
I social network, browse interweb and play a few low res games fine.
Good luck.

The Wildfire also has much better battery life than any other smartphones on the market? I get about 3 days life as opposed to 1.5~2 days on my Desire

Between Wildfire and Wave, I`ll choose WIldfire because of Android. More apps, hacks and other stuff.
You can also look at LG Optimus One P500, if it`s available in your country. 600Mhz processor, HVGA screen, android 2.2 is a much better deal that the wildfire (except for the 3.2 camera).
Or i5700, great device, if you can find it, I would have bought a i5700, but I did not find it in any Vodafone store(old phone, not available anymore)
Watch the Samsung Galaxy S II and the LG Optimus 2X bust a move in mobile games.
Gaming
Watch the Samsung Galaxy S II and LG Optimus 2X battle it out in mobile web browsing.
Web Browsing
Man,i have to say even with Froyo & 512MB Ram,Optimus 2X just flies.
Gsmarena,Anandtech all have given it a thumbs up in their reviews.
Yes, it does significantly compete with the SGS II, But I think in the long run, the SGS II will have more support and will have overall better performance.
Mostly the screen is whats dazzling & 4.27' Display.
The LG 2x has a very bad battery time, way worse than SGS.
But the browser is the best i ever tried on any mobile phone. If the sgs 2 comes close it will be very good to.
I am sure that the SGS II will surpass the Optimus 2X with overall UI speed and smoothness. Also the SGS II is using ext4 which will improve access times.

If you watch the video you'll see that the sgsii is a lot smoother than the lg. They even say that the sgs managed to beat it in some cases so the perfomance of the sgsii should be amazing. They even go as far as to say that the sgsii is the fastest browser they've ever used.
I am liking the SG2 more and more. The browsing seems to be more like IOS smooth and how it zooms in and out.
Come on netflix .
The LG OX2 has being out in Denmark for a month now, there has been a lot of chatter, about hardware problems "Screen, loudspeaker", and slow software ui, i now that SGS 2 maybe will have other problems, but i hope not.
I love the speed that these phones are doing. Keep in mind that there are better, faster browsers out there than the stock so our experience will be even better. I'm really, really excited.

+1 you can really tell that everything running on the LG is low quality rendering, if it can't keep up to the sgs 2 at that quality it does not belong to even be thought of as something to compare to the sgs 2. look again everyone at how blocky and bad distant rendering is on every game run on the LG, it's actually sad that this device is new. the samsung looks insane!
The Video shows both thee highlights and litres of the x2 & sgs2
For screen the galaxy has a clear win, but the red seem over saturated. Overall I prefer the gsg2
The gamrs seem better in the x2.
As a gamer that s important to me, as is the ps1 back catalouge for tegra..
Browsing seems smother on the sgs2.
Overall the sgs2 wins, but only just.
Is it worth the wait and the extra money....
And then there is the while exynos/tegra issue, if I got a samoled tegra I'd be ok, if I got a exynos samoled, that'd be cool too. If I got an lcd sgs2 that would be a deal breaker.
The whole lack of firm data about what will be released where is really getting on nerves, I'd be really annoyed waiting until mid june just to find we get the rubbish sgs2.
SamsungNeed to give some firm data before I give up on them.

I have played with LG optimus 2X for 2 whole days & it really is very fast. There was very little lag,i have played 3-4 big games in that, have done hdmi mirroring & all went very smooth.Really very very smooth game play.
My only problem with it is speakers quality, the o/p sound is very low in quality.
Have no issue with Battery,it's somewhat close to my Nexus S.
I am waiting for HTC Sensation{to be announced on Tuesday} & SGS 2{might launch this month in India} & will decide after that.
The only two things I am looking in SGS 2 is the real hands on with Super Amoled Plus & speaker quality, rest all{including camera} part is pretty well done on Optimus 2X also

Agreed!
I hope the SGS II is launched this month along side with the HTC Sensation. This will be the runner up and a true competitor of the SGS II.
LG is a very nice phone but i never would go for a ****ty lcd screen again..
So if Sensation have a lcd its a no go for me
Somehow I just cannot justify to get the 2X over the SGS II just because of the display and the RAM.
The price would be almost similar and it seems to be more worth it to hold off.

+1 once you go amoled there is no returning to lcd
I've got the Galaxy S at the mo and the screen is really great, but....
The problem is some of sgs2 don't have the samoled+ (or exynos)
And IF I'm going tegra and LCD (as in the only sgs2 availble to me is tegra LCD) then I may as well go for the X2. there is an OC rom out for the X2 (1.2 to 1.5 GHz)
I don't want an sgs2 that wont have devs behind it 'cos it's not the "propper" sgs2.
Mostly I'm just hacked off about samsungs complete lack of clear information.
yeah, the main reason i want sgs2 over xperia arc and lg optimus 2x is because it has amoled screen, if xperia arc had amoled screen i would have not waited for sgs2 even tough its much lower end than sgs2 the screen quality camera picture quality and since it can play any game easelly today would have been enough for me.
SGS2 is probably going to be an awsome phone in performance beating lg optimus 2x, but the main point that interests me is to finally play games without motion blurr... im sick of lcd and their "ultra fast" 2ms gtg response time when u cant properly understand wth is going on in ur screen unless u make ur camera stay still...

My friend have bought a brand new HTC evo 3D, powered with qualcomm 8660 1.2 ghz dual core processor. Phone look great, but , trust me, i dont want to change my i9000 for that phone (and probably any HTC). Screen on i9000 look much better(with smaller res 800x480 vs 540x960) , amoled is amoled , multimedia experince is much better on i9000. We tried to play regulary .mkv 720p shakira spot on both phones. Suprisingly htc evo 3d can't play mkv with stock player. Ok, both of us are downloaded bsplayer lite, and mx player from the market, and on the both players htc evo 3d (with hw accel enabled has stuttering problems), but with all players (including stock) on galaxy s video is smothly. Sound in any way is much better on samsung, and video record 720p stutter on evo 3d (fps is unstable) when light condition change, but with samsung this problems do not exist (video is perfectly smooth in any light condition) .Games and Browser on both phones work great, and i cant find big difference. And another thing, evo 3d has 1gb ram (808 mb actually), but he is full of bloaware, and rarely free ram is more than 150mb). this is enough reasons for me to stay this year happy with my sammy, and dont care about ICS, most phones will not get stable ICS before Q3 2012.
Hi 2 all.
wonderful!!!
What rom is your SGS running on? Great to see you so happy!
Galaxy s ftw :d:d
I love my Bell Galaxy S... does everything I want it to and works great.
Rom THS ICS v16
I will use this sucker until my contract runs out in a year/half or until I break it.
Power vr sgx540 ftw !!!
I must agree in some points. But Galaxy S is not a perfect phone. If we had to stick to stock roms then its a really average phone compering to other phones. Display is very nice and sharp, and thats what I like with my Samsung. Other things are more at average ( call quality, browser, camera, lag)
I had a Sony Experia Arc and it was bit better even on a stock rom.
But apart form all the bad and good things is that, you can buy Galaxy S for 150-180Euro ( used ). This can't be beaten, for that price its a best phone on the market right now. Plus you can have ICS on it and there is a big support community.
You may disagree with me. Its my personal opinion.
I have bought this phone after winmobile resistive device, so I have in plans to be with my galaxy s at least when something really different will come again)) For example - something with webtop possibility - like motorola atrix.
I am planning to keep this phone until 2014 It's a great larger sized smartphone.
I will wait for SGS2 port of ICS
Yeah the phone is great, i don't plan to change it soon, there are so many mods/kernel/roms to not get bored.
yeah sgs is still one of the best phones=D lots of roms etc. processor is still enough fast for almost anything

I came from a Blackberry Curve 8520 (ugh...) to my first Android experience with the SGS, and I couldn't have been happier.
Everything I've ever wanted to do with my phone has worked perfectly, it's definitely fast even today, and when I was finally starting to get (veeery slightly) tired of it 2-3 weeks ago, I found so many ICS builds (I was on GB until then) that only made it better!
It's one hell of a phone, and nowadays you can get it so cheap that I'd still recommend it to people who want an Android phone but don't need the latest, most expensive one with the most cores/RAM.

So you're comparing your phone to your friend's, which still has bloatware and probably a stock ROM.
I love the SGS, but seriously, don't boost it like it can destroy the HTC Evo 3D until your friend actually installs a performance custom ROM on his new phone.

yes, i say how it look in reality, not paper specification. Everyone know that on paper evo 3d is much better, and yes, i also have stock jvq rom non rooted. Screen on evo 3d (without 3D mode) is nothing special, much better look on our galaxy, and multimedia on evo is poor. I did not say that our phone is best, i know that sgs2 is much better in any way, i just compared this phone with top HTC phone at the moment
Well regardless it's a nice spirit booster... I was just in between the price drop when SGS2 came out... So i i bought the SGS full price but i'm very impressed with it. Running ICS 4.2 and semaphore 9.1.
I was seriously considering upgrading to an SGS2 and compared two different ones to mine as i wanted the benefits of the S2 plus the better screen. But from what I saw although screen resolution was higher on s2 certainly it wasn't as bright and colours didn't Pop like on the galaxy s. Highest brightness setting on s2 also lower than S.
I wanted to buy a new phone a few months ago, untill I discovered custom roms....Now my sgs is as fast as a SGSII wit stock firmware...
I'm going to stick with this untill the SGSIII comes. And if that is not what I hope of it, I will stick with even SGS longer.
As said above, it's an average phone on stock, but with custom roms it's amazing. Only real negative part is the terrible camera and the lack of flash on it.

I usually only buy from known manufacturers. A bit more cash goes a long way, especially for warranties and so on.
Off topic: Lol you actually watch top gear.

i hv one also. this surprise me at the quality of the phone which is produced by a not well-known manufacturer. it is really good and very stable. one thing to care about is the charging time is a little bit longer. it takes you about 6 hrs to charge from 0% to full for that 2300mah battery. you should get a 1g ram version for a better experience.
my ordinary phone is xperia neo.
I have one and I think it is great. Running a custom rom from a Spanish developer. Just an FYI, htc was unknown a few years ago, although they built lots of pda for companies and others.
