Morning all,
Has anyone found a mod that puts a wifi/BT toggle in the drop down screen? Would be extremely helpful for me since I am using both on and off throughout the day.
Thanks,
Steve
Try this. I'm using Warm Z 2.2 ROM which has the Power Control Widgets in the dropdown.

you could also try widgetsoid 2.X. It lets you make customizable toggle widgets, and also allows you to put them in the notification drop down. you can add more than just BT and wifi. you can put data, gps, brightness, ringer toggles, etc.

I have a question on the notification bar. When you expand it, and it has the options for various things like turning on and off wi-fi. Can that be changed at all?
Doubtful. I've been through pretty much all the settings on the phone, and I haven't seen any way to change those icons. I personally could do without the airplane mode button, but oh well.

Hey guys,
I know this was a feature the CM team was working in for CM6. Any know if this can be done on our X's?
The power control widget on the notification drop down.

I use an app called power manager to control wifi/data etc.. and another app called bar control to make it available via the notification pull down menu.
I'm running the EVO-NonSense ROM, and recently I've noticed that the 4g turns on every time I reboot my phone. Is there a way that I can disable this?
I'm also having skype start now too, I'd like to disable that as well.
That is usually caused by a 3rd party widget, be it SwitchPro or System Info Widget. Are you using either of those? In the past all I had to do was delete and reinstall and that problem went away.
I am not using either or those two or anything similar to my knowledge.
Well what widget are you using to turn on and off your 4G?
In the drag down of the notification bar, there is a 4g toggle. I use that to turn it off when it's turned on at startup.
Hmmm not sure then. Do you have beautiful widgets installed? Not sure if that has a 4G widget or not but thats the only other thing I can think of.

Click to collapse
I am having the same problem with the g4 only on start up too.but I am Running Sprint lovers Rom.
Cyanogen should add a feature where if you press the battery icon in the notification bar, settings would come out for it in a windowed box belox the notification bar. Same for the time and if you had wifi on for example you could click it to go to the wifi settings page. That would be so awesome!

This would require a complete rewrite of fundamental android elements and would not be a task someone would most likely undertake.

You can do something similar to what you want if you use the notification power widget. You can add toggles for all sorts of setting that lie within your notification bar that are very easy to access. You can enable in in CM settings.
I don't see the tiny wifi or battery icons as being good shortcuts. If you really want to though, try submitting a feature request on the cm bugtracker. It will get noticed more there.
Not very finger friendly up in the corner imo

When Eclair was installed on my device, it came with what I'll call a "connection bar", that contained 4 icons, for different features (blue tooth, wifi, GPS and brightness, IIRC). It was a very convenient app to have. Is there a similar app/feature that works on Gingerbread?
Thanks in advance
Press and hold your home screen to add widget. Select 'power control' from widget list.
Enjoy!

Perfect. Thanks for the help (I guess it helps to know the actual names for these things)
