I have a question on the notification bar. When you expand it, and it has the options for various things like turning on and off wi-fi. Can that be changed at all?
Doubtful. I've been through pretty much all the settings on the phone, and I haven't seen any way to change those icons. I personally could do without the airplane mode button, but oh well.

Again, with the knowledge of the Search Engine, I am not able to find any information about this. I have not been able to find anything. I am new to all of this, still in the process of customizing everything.
I would like to hide the status bar because its ugly and all the information I already have on my home screen because of different widgets, I was just wondering if there is any Notification Widgets out there.
Once the status bar is hidden, I can't access the notifications, and if anyone knows of a Widget that allows me to still see the notifications with the status bar hidden. Many thanks.
Idk of any widget like that, and I don't know what launcher you're using, but launcher pro and adw support hiding the bar, and gestures to make it pull down when u need to access it.
I am using adw.... I have it hidden, but I haven't seen anything to make it visible... do you by chance know where that setting is?

Cyanogen should add a feature where if you press the battery icon in the notification bar, settings would come out for it in a windowed box belox the notification bar. Same for the time and if you had wifi on for example you could click it to go to the wifi settings page. That would be so awesome!

This would require a complete rewrite of fundamental android elements and would not be a task someone would most likely undertake.

You can do something similar to what you want if you use the notification power widget. You can add toggles for all sorts of setting that lie within your notification bar that are very easy to access. You can enable in in CM settings.
I don't see the tiny wifi or battery icons as being good shortcuts. If you really want to though, try submitting a feature request on the cm bugtracker. It will get noticed more there.
Not very finger friendly up in the corner imo

I might be the only one that doesn't like the notification bar with the quick access menu and list of recently used apps. I prefer the old version coupled with using widgetsoid instead to have only the settings I want/need, and not take up half the pull-down menu with the recent apps.
Is it possible to revert only the notification bar, or delete the quick access/recent apps options?
Not sure but i love that bar it makes finding the app I use most often ez like wifi tether.

True, but how is it any different than holding down the home button for 2 seconds?
Its really not in any way but i always forget that you can hold down the home button for 2sec but i am constantly reminded where my recent apps are every time i get a text, email or missed call...... Maybe thats just me though i can see how you would not like it.

Yeah I hate that new pull down bar it was a good idea but I'm so use to using the home key that even on a GB ROM I still use the home key

Damn, assuming that no response can only mean that it's impossible. That's a shame, really liked sense beyond this issue.
Is there anyway to get a useful status menu like samsung uses? Looking for a way to get the status toggles when you drop down the status menu like I've had previously on a samsung vibrant, and I know still use on the samsung infuse. On those when you drop down the status menu, you have a wifi, gps, bluetooth, screen rotation and silent toggle.
My phone is rooted if there is any app or something that will add this and requires root.
Here is a good application for what your looking for, hope that helps https://market.android.com/details?id=de.j4velin.notificationToggle

Thanks for the app. I checked it out and it does have all the stuff I was looking for, however when you just have the horizontal menu it doesnt work for the xperia play, when you select a toggle it has a pop up and you have to hit it again. But it does allow you to just put whatever you want in the notification area one per line and those seem to work.
Thanks again
No worries mate and yeah it's the best you can get without downloading a custom rom, I think.

Thank you for that app. A tad annoying to have to confirm in a popup but still it is the fastest and cleanest way. I so much wanted to be able to change brightness when sliding down the notification bar and now I can!
If you have root and like the way samsung UI look you could try @thomassafca's samsung galaxy s II theme. He's just finished the toggles in the drop down. It will change alot of the icons, colors etc in the UI. Personally i think he's done a great job on the theme and it's still based on SE's UI and homescreen.
Regards Dousan...
Yeah he's done a good job with that theme. Though I much prefer the looks of our phones in its original state.
I like using the power saving mode but i hate to see a bunch if icons up in the status bar. Is there anyway to disable the notification and icon. I've looked through wanam but don't see an option to fix this issue.
