look over at the android section of this forum, you should be able find tutorials on how to install androids roms for the hd2

heres a link it takes you step by step, and lets you know what you need along with a video. You'll be enjoying android in no time.
I had the Nexus One for the last 5 months and wanted to have Android on a 4.3' screen so I sold it and got a Hd2 on Craigslist for cheap. Now that I have been playing with Android on it I'm not so sure I want Android anymore over Windows Mobile. Certain things not working become pretty annoying and the Hd2 just isn't good at running Android properly yet. People who have had Windows Mobile for a long time will love Android since it's something new and exciting but I am perfectly happy with Windows Mobile
Since I'm used to being spoiled and Android running perfectly smooth and working properly on the Nexus One... Android on the Hd2 leaves a bitter taste in my mouth currently
Hey,
I have searched and found no relevant results with regards to my question.
Sorry if I am unacceptability opening a new thread...
Just would really like some advice on a purchasing decision.
I am a student and therefore on a strictly limited income, despite this, I was able to save £230 and now have the option of buying a brand new HD2 or saving up another £30 or so and buying a HTC Mozart.
On the HD2 I will probably primarily use Windows Phone 7 but the possible option of using Android is very attractive.
I guess im asking is the usability of the HD2's Windows Phone 7 good enough to come close to the Mozart's?
I am obviously not expecting 100% smoothness but I was thinking more about things like Zune and the playback of music and general syncing with the software, which is very important to me.
Is the device generally usable for most tasks or should I forget the Android option and go for the smaller Mozart option?
Many thanks.
I currently have a HD2 and a test Mozart. No difference in performance at all. Of course the Mozart has a much better camera but that's all. I would not trade my HD2 for a Mozart for sure
I have HD2. Android on HD2 is almost perfect and Win7 runs well enough on the HD2 for me. I haven't used win 6.5 for 6 months. It really depends on what you need the phone to do. Go to this address: http://android.hd2roms.com/
The link above will take you to a page dedicated to Android for HD2. You can read about each build and the small problems that some still have.
ROM cooking for Win7 has just begun but the ROMS available are already very good. Go to the link below to read about the Win7 builds available for the HD2.

Is the device generally usable for most tasks ? YES!
Just a second thought on this. The HD2 is the better toy for sure and I wouldn't trade my own for any existing device, but you must be prepared for much reading and maybe some problems. If you want a phone that just works and makes no trouble than maybe the Mozart is the better solution.
HTC HD2 or HTC Mozart
Hi there,
This thread is little bit older, but my issue is the same.
Having in mind that there are a lot of progress porting Mango to HD2, I want to hear from you which is the best now: HTC HD2 with Mango or HTC Mozart?
I will use it for development (I meant developing apps for Mango) and as my primary phone. Is Mango fully functional in HD2 and is there any HD7 official stock ROM that is ported for HD2.
Any suggestions?

If you're serious about development you should stick to one of the official WP7 devices. With the HD2 you'll never know how long it will take before it's possible to install the latest updates. Debugging/Performance Analysis wasn't possible on HD2 running Mango until ultrasound/xboxmod released an update a few days ago (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1241932&page=2). So right now it's like any other WP7 device, but this may change in the future.
I have been watching the WP7 threads for a little while now and have noticed that there doesn't seen to be much activity in there.
I was wondering if WP7 isn't very popular among the community. For me, I love it. I think M$ has done pretty good with this one, and DFT have done even better, Thanks guys. Also thanks to the chefs too.
So I guess I am wondering what OS the community are using.
Android
WP7
Win Mob 6.5
Meego
I'm using the android .

i use both windows mobile 6.5 and Android.
I'd probably use the Android way more if i could figure out a couple things i'm still cofused about.

ANDROID 2.3.3 the BEST OS i am using it on my HD2
WP7 mainly, occasionally dip into Android on my SD, starting to think I may just use WP7 when the nodo comes out, beginning to get thoughts why do I need my hd2 when all I use is WP7.
Android is just to messy, not a single keyboard on android comes anywhere close to the Standard WP7 one, Android is becoming fragmented with now the tegra seperate apps, the seperate Expedia play ones also, this is where iPhone and WP7 will prevail. I know its difficult for this to not frament over time with new technologies but to have so many different speced Android devices available at the same time, that run different games and compatibility in my mind is a mess and I am starting to dislike where Android is heading.

I#m using Win 6.5.5
Android Ginger 2.3.2
Thanks for the replies so far guys.
I can't understand why WP7 isn't as popular as WinMob 6.5 according to the poll at this moment in time. I have been using it as my full time OS since getting my phone back from repair 2 weeks ago. I only get the occasional lockup (albeit for a second or too) and the odd app might not work (i.e. Messenger) but overall, I am very happy with it. Considering too, the amount of bugs that had to be ironed out when Android was ported, it's bloody marvellous.
hi guys, i have a htc hd2 from the last 6 months with windows6.5 and now i want to install the android os on it. i went through the forums but there are a lot and i am confused. Can someone tell me which is the best android os with htc sense for htc hd2 without bugs. Because i love the htc sense which shows the scrolling photos and music albums. is there any android os with htc sense like that. Thanks in advance.

I am running American Android on my SD card and the Back to the Future WP7 rom on nand. I am a big fan of the WP7 interface and performance (it feels super smooth), but am using Android on a day-to-day basis, mainly because I live in fear of hard button failure (my HD2 is second hand and I live in hope it was treated nicely). Not being able to back up SMSs on WP7 also upsets me. However, even If these cons were sorted out, I still think I would run Android (and am seriously considering a nand install of it) because of the (perceived) freedom it provides - yes, WP7 has a lovely interface, but my super-geeky Tron-themed ADW launcher makes me happy every time I use it - and because the apps are cheaper.
If you have an HD2, I'd say you owe it to yourself to have a go dual booting WP7 and Android - play around and see which one you prefer. Also, very rarely, you may even be able to impress someone with the whole novelty of dual booting two competing OSs on the same device (this has happened to me once, the conclusion was that I was a massive geek - I am happy with this).
Android is better for more apps.
Android is the best i think. Tytung's rom is awesome

The best one ive used so far is Hyperdroid cm7 5.5.0 with Tytung_R14 kernel! no problems at all!
i think andriod is a good choice now.
Android is the best, try "Tytung"'s one Nand*

Are you looking for one rom or which 2 roms to use for dual booting? If the latter, follow pakure's suggestion.
