WM7 Romed Problems - HD2 Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting an

I am facing several problems with the WM7, some of them are mentioned in topics around this sub-forum
1- Pressing call 'green' button starts the camera application, I know that the problem is in the 3 buttons to 5 buttons problem. Is there any fixes for it ?
2-SD is not read. Formatted and still not being read by the WM7, is there any software/bug fixes for this, other than purchasing a new Scandisk ??
3-HD2 is not recognized at all by the pc, even though it charges!
My steps for installing this Rom were:
1-Flashing HSPL'ing
2-Flashing mgldr
3- USB Flashing Leo
and i did a factory reset, any suggestions would be nice

Also, if you've seen posting for your questions in the various forums, why are you asking the same things that have already been answered? The answers won't change just because you started a thread!!!

First of all, it is WP7, not WM7...WM is Windows Mobile and WP is Windows Phone7.
Your questions: 1) No way to fix. It's not a problem. WP7 was never meant for the HD2 so deal with it! 2) No way to fix...it's a trial and error process on the SD card. 3) Depends on what OS you are using on the desktop. I would guess it has something to do with the way you flashed and/or the particular ROM you flashed. Also, check the USB cable you're using and make sure it's for both sync and charge cable.
Secondly, if you've never flashed ROMs to your phone before, I you better be careful and know what you are doing at each step.
Check out the videos and such here:

If you've read through post in the various forums regarding your questions, why are you posting the same issues again? You won't get a different answer just because ask them in a separate thread!!! Read and research your questions and stop posting the same questions that have been discussed to death in other threads!

Thanks for your answers
and im sorry for bothering you to answer and write the last line!

Read the various threads that are already here, bassically load up magldr set it up for flashing from usb the, connect phone to pc and run the ROM of your choice, once its flashed you will need t format the SD card
You could try that thing called reading the numerous and very prominent threads that tell you how

There is something named "Search" , please read the rules and respect them
For Installing "nand android" go to Magldr menu by restarting phone and keep pressing "reject" button , after that choose option named "USB FLASHER" by scroling up and down with volume bottuns and then flash every nand android
for flashing WINMO 6.5 just go to 3 color screen and flash desired rom
Not only do we get a question asked for the 4,758th time, we get just over an hour to come up with an answer before it gets bumped.
What did the OP do? Sit in front of his PC stewing about the lousy service he was getting?
Maybe XDA should introduce some SLAs so that people can escalate to management if they don't get their Incident fixed quickly?
lol hey guys, thats enough i think
It has been asked many times, so thread closed.
Cheers.

[Q] HD2 Maybe bricked

Ok so I was trying to upgrade to MGLDR 1.13 so I could use the new Typhoon CWM ROM. But something's gone wrong and Idk what it is. The phone goes straight to MGLDR 1.12 on boot, but none of the USB options work. In the tri color screen the USB option doesn't work either.

really? your first response is to get him to pay you money?
no. you cannot say it is not bricked.
start over. flash via sdcard back to WM. then make sure you have correct radio, correct magldr and go from there.
also - try different usb ports on your computer. also, look around if you have Windows7 as i thought i remember some things about it acting weird.

All I had to do was restart the PC and it worked from there. The MAGLDR had messed up the USB drivers

No your Pbone is not bricked if you could not even get it to come on it would be bricked. what bricks a HD2 most of the time is flashing a radio thst is not supported by it, and this is only a problem with the TMOUS HD2. The other reason is poeple are carless when flashing and don't have enough charge on their battery to prevent it com dieing in the middke of a flash, or some how let the USB cble become diconnected in the middle of a flash.
Try to flash a Windows Mobile ROM from SD card. you can do an official ROM or a custom ROM. If you flash an official ROM it will remove MAGLDR and replace your HSPL with SPL so your HD2 will be totally stock. To do this download the ROM of your choose if it is a .executive you need to change it to .zip (if it is a custom ROM you probably will not have to do this)and right click it then cboose view/explore and find the RUU_signed.nbh (a custom ROM may not say exactly that but it will have a .nbh file) rename it to leoimg.nbh and copy it to yourS D card.
Insert your SD card into your pbone, while off hold down the vomume down button and tap the power button but keep the volume down button held until bootloader comes up and says searching then leg go of the volume down button and the ROM will flash.

Dude don't tell people they have a bricked phone if they don't just to try to make some money. It is bad karma and will get you booted from XDA. Another member posted this in your thread "I will fix your bricked HD2" but I am going to post it again for you.

no, what you meant was, i won't give any help but i'll offer to take your money to fix a problem that likely doesn't exist. if you are able to fix phones the way you say you are, then you have the knowledge of what a brick is or isn't. then you would have known this wasn't a brick. so i can only extrapolate you were trying to take advantage of the OP in hopes of making a quick buck.
beyond not cool.
OP,
First of, ignore simon. He's out to make a quick buck regardless of what he says. He's going to run around telling every Tom **** and Harry that his RIFF box will cure their problems. It likely will, but that's like a doctor telling a patient that he'll prescribe him morphine for his tummy ache.
Next, I'd recommend trying the following steps and we'll take it from there. Change each of the recommended items below ONE AT A TIME so you know which is the culprit.
1) Change the USB Cable.
2) Change the USB Cable + Change the USB port that was used. Ideally, you'd want a direct connection. That is, do not go through any cheap USB hubs, etc. If it's a desktop, make sure it goes straight to the motherboard's USB ports on the rear.
3) Change USB Cable + USB Port + computer used. If it's not possible, make it possible. Find a friend who has a laptop or something.
Now, by the off chance that your usb port does get working in the tri-color screen again (i.e., it changes from SERIAL to USB), first thing you do is perform a TASK29 (search for it) on the HD2. This will wipe the phone clean and even remove MAGDLR. You want to use the TASK29 that DOES NOT REMOVE YOUR RADIO. I repeat, there are two types of TASK29 for the HD2. One removes the radio during the reformat, and the other doesn't. Be sure to take the LATTER.
If you can reach this point, don't reinstall MAGDLR and ANDROID first. Let us know the steps you took the last time so we can correct you on what you did erroneously the first time around.
But don't worry too much OP, if you can still get the tri-colored screen, I don't think it's a brick yet. If I'm not mistaken, a full-brick won't even allow you to get into a tri-colored screen? Whatever you do, for the time being, DO NOT FLASH ANY RADIOS.
Lastly, what is the current radio version?

[Q] Back to Windows Mobile 6.5.

Im currently using WP7, Im trying to install Andriod but Im not sure how to do that. Ive been searching around the site for a couple hours and i cant figure this out. I understand how mods and other members dont like hearing noobs like me asking questions but im stuck and in need of assistance. Ive been reading that I have to format my SD Card back to Fat32 or something to get it to work again, im not sure how to do that.
Im trying to downgrade to 6.5 then install andriod, or if I can just go straight to andriod. From what I understand you can install andriod using NAND so that whenever you turn on your phone it boots into andriod instantly. So could someone show me a video or a tutorial that explains how to get rid of WP7 and fix my sd card. Please and thank you fellow XDA peeps!
Hey do you have another phone to put your SD card in? I just put the sd card in my old HTC hero and formatted it.
If you have WP7, I'm guessing you have MAGDLR so when you boot your phone hold down the power button until you see the list of boot options, if you put your phone into USB FLASHER you can install android directly.
hope this helps, and I hope I'm right.

You don't have to do so.. you dont need to install win mo 6.5 to migrate to Android ..... What version of MGLDR are you running? is it 1.13? If it's a yes ...
Then
- restart your mobile
- hold the cancel call button (right one on hd2) and hold it ....
- this brings you to a menu ....
- Select USB FLASHER mode ...
Now I am assuming that you got some NAND installer (Android) to do this ... once you are in this mode .... and you are connected to the PC ... you should
- get a pop up and the device central will connect your mobile to the PC
- Now its a mtter of running the RUU which you got to install Android
One more thing re the noob thing you mentioned. We like helping others but noobs typically spam the forum with questions and never say thanks (by pressing thanks button). .
Also they tend to ask the same quesiton over and over again without checking if it has been answered before ...
Make sure that you are not like the norm and show good attitude to your fellow peeps on a forum .... you will soon realise what a lovely community this is ...

Just follow the link below my signature for Leo custom ROM flash tutorials. You shouldn't need to revert to WM to go to Android. task29..don't just reflash.
Imperative!!!! Use task29 to totally clean your phone of any traces of previous ROM flashes before installing Android. Many people encounter phantom issues because they do not task29 to clean out traces of other ROM flashes and then wonder why their phone is having problems no one can figure out how to fix.
Alight. So I can just flash it through MAGLDR, well I found this link and Im still not to sure on what im suppose to do. I think I have to put something on my SD card, but i cant cause I have WP7.

Yes and obviously you knew that! So common dictates that this question will have been asked before and because it is a obvious question there will be guides/sticky topics about it.
The whole purpose of the guides etc is so that people read them, not just assume they dont exist, not bother to check and the create topics asking for them. Please use some common sense!
Just boot into MAGLDR and flash with the installer that comes with the rom, simple!
If you haven't got magldr either then you need to go read teh magldr thread.
Simply put your device into bootloader mode (hold volume down button while booting) then run magldr flasher or use the all-in-one HD2 tools in the Android NAND sticky thread.
PS. PLEASE watch the following video to the END!
Read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=939682/ carefully, and you will know what to do. After done the step C, boot into the MAGLDR, go to 5. USB flasher, run the DAF.exe in your favorite rom.

sir, i read a lot before flashing anything on my phone,bt still somethings like having "2.xx.51.xx" or ny hd2 with 51 in as its radio will brick, always miss out,
yes ppl do post guides, they post it coz on their mobile it works, ppl DO follow their guide before flashing anything,bt they still do get bricks,as every phone is unique and have different variable associated with em.
i just wanted to make a checklist of things to check before flashing anything,
and abt that video, sir believe me i am more than capable of abusing/insulting verbally, but unlike u, i RESPECT ppl and try to think BEFORE saying anything . seeing ur thanks meter m sure u were capable posting something useful that wld have saved someone's hd2,but u chose to post that.

[Q] I've failed to install android countless times.

Hello members of XDA forum,
I seem to have a little problem currently, and have in fact had this problem for around 2 week's now, with tinkering for a total of around 10-15 hours to try install android onto my HTC HD2 phone.
I have recently been given a HD2 from a family member as they have receive a upgrade in there contract and decided to let me have a updated phone (as long as it text's rings and can check emails/facebook it's a great phone to me)
Now i have currently tried following multiple guides around to get me into the zone for starting to get used to installing android, but without any luck, i have mainly been trying to do the steps from this guide " How to Install Android on HTC HD2 – Android 4.0.4 " search on google.
But so far i haven't had any luck, and to be totally honest i have no idea why, i have great computer knowledge but this is seriously confusing me right at the moment, and I'm really tempted to just give in and go back to a outdated stock android phone, but i have put countless hour's into learning this. (attempting to)
Now the reason i wish to update from windows 6.5 is because market place and apps are no longer supported which is not good for my facebook/email need's and i really need to try and get a updated version of co-pilot for my motorbike which is why i want to upgrade to this phone.
Tonight i have spent 3 hour's following that guide, and i think i got as fair as i ever have, it all seem'd to install great, but when the phone booted up it was just like a animated screen saver and not doing anything at all apart from that, i have managed to get stock 6.5 windows on the phone around 12 times now? and still try to find updated detailed yet EASY to read guides, i have used the search bar on the forums but it seem's people have different problems, if some-one could throw me towards a good guide it would be amazing, i have tried nano i think, but wouldn't mind using a SD card to boot it off if that is alot easier/simpler, i'm really sorry if this does get asked alot but i have searched multiple times to try find a solution.
If no one has the time to try at help me out it's quite understandable due to the fact this is rather confusing to some-one who is new to the scene. but if some-one can help and would advise a different android version with a guide for that, that would be amazing.
I will check back and attempt again regardless in 18 hour's.
Thanks and regard's
Aaron.
Hi and welcome,
I would suggest making a short version of your post. That is a lot of text, without very useful information.
What useful information? Read below:
Which version of HSPL do you have?(Boot up the phone while holding volume down, it says there)
What radio are you on? (You can find this at the bottom left of the screen when booting up the phone. Or alternatively, you can find it after booting into Windows Mobile, in the settings)
Which bootloader have you tried using? ((MAGLDR or cLK) How to know? MAGLDR has a black screen with about 12 options to choose from. And it says aMAGLDR at the top. Otherwise you have cLK)
Are you using DataOnExt? (When installing the ROM, did you choose such option?) (And if you do, do you have the proper partitions on your sd card?)
As a beginning, I will advise you to follow a guide I wrote last year. The guide is rather easy and straightforward if you have the prerequisites already. Click here for the guide.
